I like the smaller Glocks, so the G30 would be my choice.
Revisit it
@@govanbuttar9440 2
I just picked one up myself I also have a glock 22 so this compact is a nice change of pace the double spring in the guiding rod definitely helps.

Revisit the sf series
@jsdubon82 , I loved Cooper, but he was full of it sometimes - even more old school than I am. :-) The .45 ACP is actually easier to shoot than the .40. Less felt recoil. The .40 kicks harder, in my opinion.
40 is much more brutal.
I hate the 40 45 easier
Hickok, I have seen allot of good shooters in my time. You are one of the best I have ever seen. 40, and 45 looks like you are shooting a .22. Very good recoil management.Love watching your stuff. Not trying to be a superstar, not trying to do anything...you are just naturally cool. Thanks for all your vids. I have learned allot from them. I especially like the older rifles and things that allot of tubers don't do. They only do tacticool. Lever guns and the like really excite me. so thanks again.
Agreed! You're a great shot!
Yeah, I've traded off all my 10 -rd magazines. I like the flush ones. They hold 9 if you stand on them for that last round. I load 8.
Been carrying a Glock 30 for 10 years now, have 0 complaints about it. Great pistol
Glock 44 better , best caliber n all
@@kadariusnewsome4705 Glock 44 is actually the most unreliable Glock and also the 22 is unreliable as well
I want it 🥺
@@michaeldoan9494 ikr!!! My next gun for sure , I highly recommend a smith and wesson sd9 beats most glocks
@@hollywhelan5730 Yeah sure
Glock 30 chapter 3 please sir.
Maybe a 30s / 30 review
Agreed !
if your going with a .45 best gun overall is a glock 30 period
ethan shum glock 21 beats it by far if you want a full size my 21 shoots so smooth
And the 21! In the winter obviously 😎
Compact is always the gun to choose from
Ben Warner Raaawwwrrrrrr lol
Ben Warner not ideal for conceal carry which is why we are watching a Glock 30 video
Yes, I think the G30 does have a bit less perceived recoil than the 1911, mainly because it has such a heavy frame. Also, the Glock receiver seems to absorb some of the recoil.
Who's here in Spring 2020 wondering where that target is today and how much it's now worth?
i wonder the same thing ....we all love him so much...
@@royrobles6555 Well, I'm back asking the same question on November 27, 2021. We'll soon be into the New Year 2022. Who possesses that target and are you willing to dispense with it? First, we all want proof that you own it, and then somebody will need to make an offer. I'm even willing to explore a bidding encounter for the sole benefit of a 2nd Amendment charitable organization.
So, who now owns this target? And how can you prove it? Let's get it on, as they say.
Just wanted you to know how much I enjoy your vids. if im looking at a gun, and you don't have a review on it I usually pass!! Just got a Glock 30 Gen 3 and I love it!! it quickly became my EDC pistol. Gotta love that 45 ACP power!! Thanks Hickock45!! Keep em coming Sir!!!
Only Yoda and I know these secrets. :-)
No way this vid is 10 years old! Been watching since the old days
We want a chapter 3
Thank you.
Not sure what it is about the 30, it's my favorite
The size?
@@tybeentrill3748 I would say the size and the punch it packs behind it great for conceal carry and can't beat 14 rounds of 45 acp if u have the glock 21 magazines
Yeah, I don't bowl very much, but when I do, I always wish I could use a .45 ACP. I've been shooting at bowling pins for many, many years. Until my son was six or eight and actually visited a bowling ally, he just thought bowling pins were targets! He was expecting me to rent a .45 instead of shoes! :-)
If this keeps up, I will be planning my next ammo and reloading supplies run! You guys are great!
Those Talon grips make the glock 30 feel sooooooooooo much better to grip
Yes, I find the stock Glock sights about as fast to pick up as anything I've ever seen.
No, it's just a bag I use to carry the magazines. Actually, I don't think I 'd ever stick a goofy bag on the side of a gun to catch brass. I see them for sale, but I've never seen anybody use one.
I know this is an older video, but your shooting skills are on an entirely different level! Nothing but respect, sir!
Most expensive (used) target paper in history. Hickok should apply it to Guinness world record.
Ten years to the day and still loving Hickok45 videos. He never gets old. ROCK ON HICKOK45 👍👍
@boomheadshot50 , Standard GL30. I have large hands and don't need the smaller grips.
Thanks. No, I don't hve a G34. As you can see from my videos, I prefer the smaller Glocks, even though I do have a couple of the "Big Boys" for special purposes (G21 & G20).
now i m looking at an old video dated 2009 and wishing that I got me that signed target. Mr. Hickok45 rocks!
Hard to believe this video is 8 years old. Even the steel tree is missing.
*10 years old*
82 Luft this video is 10 years old
Now it's 11 years old.
11 years and 364 days later. maybe i should just wait until tmrw to post this. then again. nah
@SportsCarClubRacing ,
I wouldn't think so. The only SF model I've had was the G21 SF, and that was not an issue.
Stay tuned this week. We did a holster video yesterday, and one of them in the video is what I use for my G30 or G29.
Your one of the greats! Your state is a great state! Your efforts encourage us to continue training and to enjoy our sport ! Thank you 🇺🇸
I appreciate the support the bidders are demonstrating for my expensive endeavors. Again, whatever items I post on Ebay associated with videos goes right back into the video production: ammo & targets mainly. Same for clicking ads. I've seen a few condescending comments about anybody who would bid on a target like this. I would probably not be interested in a target like this myself, but I never mind supporting something I like. Thanks again, Hickok45
You make the Best gun/shooting videos around ! Sorry the youtube police are after you ! Sadly ,the "thought police" do exist these days. Keep them coming, Please. Had the Great pleasure to have met you at a gun show once. sorry , but I had to rag on you just a little about glocks. Never been a fan of them. You are the man !
He must have been in the sniper division or something cause damnnn his accuracy is on point! Wow amazing. He is crazy good!
Love all your Vids enjoy seeing you tear that range to the ground lol I Own a gen 3 G30sf and the only thing I hate is that I didn't buy it sooner than I did but better late than never love it trust it and never leave home without it lol God bless y'all .
@fordfan09
A little dirty, but not too bad. I do clean them after shooting. They are so easy to clean.
Hickok is awesome, love his sense of humor.
I know there are plenty of comments before mine. With that being said. Greatest shooter I have ever seen
I found a glock 30 that is accurate as hell I got lucky all I did was add the nite sites.
+Sheldon French They are all equally "accurate." See our video called "Accuracy."
+hickok45 my bad I guess we all learn new things everyday...lol
+hickok45 between the glock 30 and the glock 21 does the 30 have a little more push or is the recoil pretty much the same? i just ask because the size difference is pretty descent
+hickok45 i have really bad wrist issues and was looking to buy a glock 19 or m&p9 or m&p9c. im not sure if its in my head but when i shot the glock 21 it was a little big but i sorta felt better more accurate. not sure if its because of my wrists but i seem to have more control and get my aights on target quicker with the 45, its almost like i feel the 45 barely has a muzzle flip with the 9 i can tell it flips a little. i just thought id feel more comfortable with the 9 then a 45 in the future possibly but after i shot the rounds im not really sure what to do i mean 45 is a big round to me anyway
You flinched when you got a click lol, and you had a flyer on that paper target... Awesome shooting, just shot my first IDPA match and I'm thinking I'm hooked, most fun you can have with your cloths on.
That grouping though.
I love your range set up ! I could shoot all day ( if bullets were available ).
Fantastic gun! I bought the SF model...thanks Hickok!
Me too
I realize this is from 09, but somehow I'm just seeing it. I know Hickok will generally prefer the .40 caliber(23,27) more so over the other calibers/models, and while he shoots them all well, I think he shows a "little" more consistence with the 45. Of course he is an"Deadeye" with them all. Goes to show how many will repeat of too much recoil for carry, this video can give some insight. (I know everyone is different)
Wouldn't want to be the robber who stumbles upon this guy, damn!
You just hear laughing in the back room as he picks which gun he’s gonna blow you away with
Just bought the glock 30 generation 4 and I love it haven't made it to the range yet but I can't wait to fire this pistol
Seriously torn between the 21 and 30 for a next purchase.
Same here lol
for your first i would get a gen 4 glock 30
$$$
+ deh175, I carry the Glock 41 5" 45 acp, and the Glock 34 5.3" 9 mm The G41 has a replacement KKM rifled barrel, and the G34 also has a KKM barrel and compensator. Both are excellent guns.
Get both
Who’s here in 2021
I want this guy next to me in a gun fight !!!!!! 🔫
Fing love my 30 and 21 out of 5 of my glocks those are my favorite
how much did this paper had been sold for?
$105.00
Watching your first almost go off target I was thinking WTF. But after watching the rest of the video... Very nice shooting. I've got a 30 too and love it!
I have a Glock 30 Gen 4 and i love it.
Still have the Gen4? How do you like the revised grip? I've always been a Gen3 guy 🤷♂️
I got mine in June of 2006. Shot it less than ten times at an indoor range. Anybody know what generation a 2006 piece would be? It doesn't say so with the papers I have.
@@daffidavit that would be a 2 or 3 count the grip marks
@@anthonygiovannikarmawisera218 Thank you. I believe I have a 3rd Gen. model. According to research on Wikipedia, the 3rd Gen. was changed for all models in 1998 to include a rail for a laser. Thumb rests on both sides were also added. The article didn't mention or reference "grip-marks" but mine appears to have two. The fourth Generation Glocks came out in 2010, so mine isn't that new.
Thanks for your advice, it made me do a little research.
that was my first gun got it back in 2010 as soon as i turned 21 and got my ccw and still my EDC gun
My god you are a good shot
I would recommend you start with 9mm unless you have shot a great deal or plan to shoot a great deal. It's good to shoot a lot anyway so that you'll be competent with even the 9mm.
I was in 3rd grade when this was uploaded
Great Video great shooting this is the best review i have seen on the gun I have been out of shooting for some 45 years give or take I am just getting back into it was also wondering which one to buy i had a Colt 45 but sold everything back in the 70s wish i had not done that but it was had times back then.
Thanks for the review
Dean
Cameraman needs a tripod on those long close-ups. Awesome shooting Hickok
Yeah, you'd think I would, too, since I have really large hands, but I just prefer that little G30. Fits my hand better.
The G30 feels better to me, but I have a large hand, and the hump on the G21 hits me wrong. Regardless of what I carry and shoot the most, the two guns that fit my hand like a glove are the Glock 30 / G29 and the Beretta 92FS.
Hello hickok , great vid. I was wondering if you ever figured your anual shooting budget? I shoot and reload, but you shoot a heck of a lot more, and I am one of many that enjoy your videos. How do you keep costs down? You send a heck of a lot of lead down range. thanks for all the vids!
@criticalflow , 80 yards. If you've seen any of the tests done in the gun rags, you see that there's very little difference between the velocity out of long vs short Glock barrels.
GLOCK 30 is my favorite carry gun.
Hey, Hickock... next time you use a bullet hole for the "o" in your name (as when you signed the paper target), use a LSWC round. I load 190 gr .45 ACP LSWC rounds a friend casts for me and they make the prettiest little cookie cutter holes! Good shootin' pard...
Target is at $31.00 in 3 hrs!!
6 days 21 hrs left
This is gonna be fun to track
Hickok maybe at the end of each day you could give us an eBay update vid
You'd need to look at a lot of holsters and see what you like. The gun is pretty thick and slightly heavy as compared with other 9mm and .40 caliber Glocks. Lots of people carry it, but my G23 and G27 usually win out due to the weight and thickness fo the G30. Great gun, though.
Actually, we had a little set-up there that didn't work right.
Could you tell us a little bit about those orange earplugs you're wearing in this video that wrap around behind your head? Also, what is the thickness of the steel plate on the swinging targets (the five round ones)?
Really like your videos and hope to have a range that nice some day.
Glock 30, although some like the G36 pretty well.
You need to go to Knob Creek, KY and compete in the pistol or rifle matches they have in April and October.
🤣🤣🤣 at about 9:04... did y'all see that?
Hickok missed the gong (over/top right)... you can see .45... as it clears the gong.... splat... Hickok nailed a mosquito!!! 😮
This is likely a one-time deal on a donation of this size, but I'm perfectly willing to list things that make enough to justify the effort and shipping expenses, as well as a couple of bullets. I'd sure be willing to hunt down fired bullets if I could turn a pretty much intact bullet into a box of new ones. :-)
"Custom"? Maybe with my face on them? Something to think about. :-)
@hickok45 Thanks for the fast reply! The reason I mention my concerns about is because I've been a U.S Virgin Islands police officer (St.Croix) for the past 9 years and I need a good firearm or firearms that would give me some type edge against these criminals down here who are packing some serious firepower. I already been shot at twice already and I thank God everyday that I wasn't killed during those incidents.
It beat them up over time, but they are pretty darn tough. About the only thing that really can do serious damage to them in one or two shots is a .45-70, or the .458 Winchester Magnum I used to have.
"older"? What do you mean? Oh, yeah, that's right; I forget. It's just that I'm still about 18 mentally!
NO, for easier all-around operation.
Could be any of the above. I've not experienced any of this, but bullet "set-back" can increase pressure exponentially, I understand. Of course, a double charge would do the same thing.
@onoarm , I tend to find it easier to shoot well, too. Not sure about the recoil difference; they both shoot pretty softly with the heavy slides.
Oh, it will. For this Glock 30 video alone, I probably went through fifty or sixty bucks worth of ammo, plus whatever I spent on targets. It adds up quickly.
How much was the target sold for? I'm picking up a Glock 27 tomorrow (mostly due to your review of it), and my buddy is grabbing a Glock 30. Keep up the vids!
In this video he says ammo is getting really expensive, & I wonder if he ever thought it would get this high in 2024.
@TEAMHONDAUSA , You'd probably have to get some Pearce magazine extenders for it if you just can't enjoy it without your pinky finger wrapped around the grip.
Thanks, I spend an enormous amount of money on ammo and reloading supplies. It WOULD be good to get as much of my ammo and strange targets covered as possible.
@roaringwaterbay , Don't think so, but we could probably find you somebody like that if you're looking for a date? Sorry, we're living in the real world, not the virtual world., except for what we post in the "virtual world" of RUclips. :-)
@162someone , Use to have a G36, but I haven't had one for quite a few years.
The ones with the base plate extension do but the ones that go flush hold 9
Glock 30 is what I carry now. I’m a 1911 guy, but I cracked the grips on my Kimber climbing up some rocks and I bought the Glock for beating on.
I had some of them made over twenty years ago, but I've bought many of them since from Arntzentargets online.
Hickok, I would definatly love to support your videos by purchasing a shot up bowling pin!
Good point! We tend to take these Glock for granted. They just keep on ticking!
I just saw Public Enemies recently aswell helluv a movie.
Probably 9mm if you want centerfire. .22 LR is great, too.
Five Stars!!
@EricSFCA , GL30, for it's reliability and simplicity.
Man this guy doesn’t miss lol. I love this channel
Been there, done that. I'm content to play at home mostly these days.
Good idea - maybe next time, except what if I flinch and hit the "H" !! Then my viewers would lose all faith in me!
OR, I could post it on Ebay as an "outtake" target. Is there such a thing? Maybe I've coined a new term for those range targets that don't come out so good! They're "outtakes"! :-)
That can be arranged pretty easily.
There's really no magic "bullet," to keep costs down, other than just not shooting as much or by selling thirty-cent targets for $100.00!!! :-) Handloading saves some, but with components as high as they are, too, there's just no free lunch.
That's okay; just send me one bullet. Sounds like what I heard from all the girls in high school! :-)
