Careful with collagen and gelatin if you are histaminsensetiv. It often gets forgotten as a possible trigger. If you have no issue with histamine overload, collagen is great and you do not need to worry, it is a very specific "warning"
I love AIP! I thought i was going to be hard, but it's really so nice to go to the groceries shop and not get lost in all the options. I've discovered new flavors too as I used to eat very spicy. Discovering herbs and coconut butter is awesome! Also, cooking meat is so much easier than I'd thought.
@@kimberlypruszynski1122 hi there!! The coconut wraps are from Thrive Market (online) and the jicama wraps I was buying from Whole Foods but haven’t bought them in a long time so I’m not sure if they still carry them. 😉
Really great video…..I have lupus so I’ve been kinda gradually going in the AIP direction…just really by accident…because I just feel better…so I’m going to get the book so I can really learn..how to do this…I just can’t eat how other people eat..I don’t feel well…it just so interesting
Thank you! I love that you are intuitively eating the foods that feel most nourishing and supportive to you! It's amazing how our bioindividual needs change and you may find yourself in the future in a place where you can reintroduce some foods....our bodies are amazing at offering us feedback. Cheering you on!
You mentioned the lifestyle of AIP, I’d love to see a video on that. I’ve mostly only heard about the nutrition side. I’m embarking on my AIP journey this week and I love your content!
You've got it Alicia! It's been on my to do list, but I'll bump it to the top and get that out in the next few weeks ;). Congrats on embarking on your AIP journey! I'm so glad you are loving my content! Hugs!
Hi Alicia! I hope your AIP journey is going well! Just wanted to let you know I uploaded an AIP lifestyle video a couple of weeks ago - here is the link: ruclips.net/video/rm8DEHW5cxY/видео.html
I had a pizza night the other day too! Regular pizza bites from Laura vitale and I made my own recipe, I’m surprised it actually tasted good considering I just used a regular recipe with gf flour and added random stuff in It turned out like thin crust and my boyfriend liked it and he is picky lol
Does real white sweet potatoes count in this diet? The orange sweet potatoes are actually yams and I can’t stand them but I’m absolutely ok with real sweet potatoes. Also before you get into recipes like this, is there like a cleansing period you have to go through? I’m having trouble finding out how to get started.
Hi there! Yes, real white sweet potatoes are totally okay! I love them! It can be kind of confusing to start, here is my AIP section of my website that clearly lays everything out: shannanemrow.com/the-autoimmune-protocol/. Nope, you don't have to do a cleansing period.
The only thing I struggle with is green smoothies don't fill me up. I'm active and need more than just a green smoothie to get adequate energy. Also, I struggle with snacks. You should do a snack recipe video.
I feel you! I do put collagen peptides in my green smoothies, but with that said, during times that I am more active, I eat full on meals for breakfast. Like an AIP hash with some avocado and a piece of fruit. Or leftovers from dinner the night before. So I actually have an AIP snack video: ruclips.net/video/yYz8Nkqa8zw/видео.html
Yep, that's what I do. And once I reintroduced grass fed ghee and grass fed butter, I like to add either ghee or butter on top of the sweet potato before I add the cauliflower rice and turkey.
I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease just a few weeks ago, I also have suspected celiacs. I've been suggested the aip diet but I have no idea where to start, it's winter here in Australia and I can't stand eating/drinking cold foods in the morning. I feel really over whelmed with changing my diet so drastically and once I go back to work I won't have time to make a 30 minute breakfast, is there anything quick and easy I could try?
Hi Banette! Welcome to the AIP diet! So I recommend batch cooking an AIP breakfast hash to have on hand to quickly heat in the morning before work. Or you could batch cook some AIP soup to have on hand. Those are both quick and easy to reheat and throw in a thermos. There are also AIP muffin recipes - I haven't tried any but those are an option too. Let me know if you need any other help - I have lots of free AIP resources on my website shannanemrow.com as well as here on my RUclips channel. I do have a 30 day AIP program - the next session starts on August 1st. However, I also have a self paced AIP online course that is available anytime: shanna-nemrow-a1b5.mykajabi.com/aip-1-2-3-1
I've never made bone broth in the instapot. Can you fill the pot all the way to the top with water? Any time I've used my instapot I just add one cup of water to cook something, so I've never cooked with a lot of liquid. How many cups of bone broth would you estimate that this recipe yields?
Hi Na Nee! Great questions! I recommend googling specific AIP bone broth recipes online that offer specific guidance and answers to your questions. There's many options and I am very casual about how I make mine / don't use a recipe
I actually do not, I have no experience with it personally and I've never worked with a client trying vegan AIP. I did do a quick "vegan AIP" google search and some articles and blog posts do pop up, but I am not familiar with the authors / credibility of them.
I will also say I love the work of Dr. Terry Wahls, and the Wahls Protocol. The Wahls Protocol has similarities to the autoimmune protocol. Both aim at nutrient density and minimizing autoimmune symptoms. AIP is an elimination diet at it's core, followed by reintros. Whereas the Wahls Protocol offers a few options. And my whole point is that I know that Dr. Wahls does offer vegan / vegetarian recommendations for doing the Wahls Protocol. She used to be a vegetarian.
Shanna Nemrow does the wahls method get similar results? At this point id be willing to try the AIP diet I will check out the Wahls info though. Thank you!
@@drowninginpuddles I know several AIP success stories, as well as Wahls Protocol success stories! The reason why I mentioned the Wahls Protocol is since she offers vegan / vegetarian guidance in her book and most likely on her website too. :)
I have watched many of your videos because I am interested about AIP and most of what you share are helpful. However, I struggle with your audio. It sound low even my volume are full. I have to bring it to my ear.
Thank you for letting me know Marineth, I agree and I've since upgraded my camera/filming equipment. The quality should be much better in my two newest videos. Here's an example: ruclips.net/video/flEkAovlULg/видео.html. Please let me know if the audio is better for you in that video. Thank you so much for your feedback, and thank you for being here!
Hi Rita! Everyone has different bioindividual needs. It's important to tune into our own bodies and find the foods that feel most nourishing to us. While garlic does have health benefits, it may not feel supporting or nourishing to everyone, and that's okay.
You are so encouraging! Just the fact that you do this and have a family is so encouraging
@@kimberlypruszynski1122 Thank you so much Kimberly! It’s not always easy but so worth it to feel well ❤️❤️

What’s the best AIP book to get? Or anywhere I can get recipes? I have Lyme, POTS, pernicious anemia and alopecia........falling apart......
The paleo approach by sarahb phd helped me a lot
Thanks for the ideas. My lunches are getting stale and boring. You look like you’re doing great on AIP!

So spinach which has meal ages is okay with a thyroid condition?
what did you say you add to the sweet potato..cauliflower rice, ground turkey, pink salt, cinnamon and what is the last ingredient??
Yep, that's what I do. And once I reintroduced grass fed ghee and grass fed butter, I like to add either ghee or butter on top of the sweet potato before I add the cauliflower rice and turkey.
Thanks for this - Breakfast does have an extra when speaking of multiple - Just an FYI. I speak for a living so I was sensitive to that - sorry lol
