Over the past year all my body has done is gain weight even when I’m in the gym 4-5 days a week. I’ll be binge watching your videos now. It’s nice to know someone has learned to live with our condition. It’s inspiring!

Thank you for emphasizing the up volume of quality foods. Gratefully I’m a “Bright Line Eater” that lists optimal ounces per meal of protein, fat, veg, fruit ( & grain if choose) for either maintenance or weight loss plans , vegan or omnivore… bottom line a food scale is a fabulous tool for my AIP design.

I just found you this morning while I was walking on my treadmill. I have Graves Disease, which is the opposite of Hashimoto’s. It is hard to find information about it because it is less common. I have a functional doctor and I follow the same diet. My stomach is in constant pain and is constantly bloated, but I’m just starting the AIP. Thank you for sharing your videos,

Hi Elizabeth! You're welcome! So nice to meet you! Yep, I am familiar with Graves disease, it is also an autoimmune disease so the autoimmune protocol AIP is a great option! So glad you are working with a functional medical doctor and finding answers. Feel free to reach out anytime :)

I heard the pain in your voice when you explained not being able to do things for yourself after being active. I'm only 2 weeks into AIP and my biggest issue is stress. It's just inescapable

I’m pretty sure I’ve watched all of your videos on RUclips now. The reason for my interest is that, two years ago I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, it’s been in remission for a couple of years, so I decided to make some health changes. I heard about AIP and thought, “something has to work”, other than medication. I’ve been doing strictly AIP friendly foods now for about a week and a half, but I can’t seem to get the “full” feeling, and I do eat quite a bit. I’m 6ft tall and around 220/215lbs so my portions are big, but am struggling with the no carbs portion. Any suggestion would be amazing, thanks, and thanks for all the tips, very helpful

Hey Justin! Thank you so much for sharing a part of your story! Great question! Sure, I do have a few general suggestions: 1). Try eating more starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes. I find this article to be really helpful when it comes to carbs and the AIP: www.thepaleomom.com/carbohydrate-intake-on-the-autoimmune-protocol/. 2) Are you macro-balancing your meals? Meaning, are you eating protein, healthy fat, and carbs in the form of veggies (and fruit if desired) at every meal? Not only do proteins and healthy fats play important roles in the body, they are also slower burning and healthy fats especially help us to feel satiated for longer. You may simply need to tweak your macro ratios and eat more healthy fats and/or proteins. Cronometer is a great app and website if you are looking for a tool to help you. You could always try some AIP fat bombs like this recipe: www.realworldaip.com/post/aip-fat-bombs. 3). Increase portion sizes - many of us need to increase the quantity of food we need to eat quite a bit when going AIP. 4) Troubleshoot any digestive needs/support with a functional medical doctor or NTP. Digestive support in the form of supplements is often needed to help aid digestion / absorption of food. Those are just a few ideas off the top of my head. Hopefully one or more the ideas help :)
