    Good morning Mamas, and thank you for joining me for today's video! ☕️ I think this is a topic that we can ALL relate to! What boundaries do you have in place to protect YOUR homeschool? 🤍

    I just realized this video is a couple months old but I can't believe how timely it was for me to find it! I'm not a homeschooling mom. I have 2 kids in public school and I work outside the home. My kids are busy and involved in all kinds of things. Even so,, everything you talked about resonated with me right now! I, literally just today resigned from a volunteer commitment that was eating my lunch. I also backed off of a 2nd job I have been working for almost 15 years in a field I absolutely used to love. Overcommitment ruined these things for me and I have been feeling so pulled to get my priorities straight!! My kids and husband have suffered severely from me being so overcommited to everything but them. I was meant to hear this tonight. I appreciate you and will be checking out those books!! Thank you!!

    Thank you so much for this video. This is a topic I've been thinking about this week especially. It's been hard at times to say no when people I assume I can do other things because I am home (like babysit). I have learned through experience and prayer that doing anything that takes away from this time with my kids that we have chosen for ourselves really does throw us off and stress us out. It works so much better when we have a pattern with our school week and we reserve that time for us as much as possible.

    • @OneBlessedMess
      @OneBlessedMess  2 года назад

      Absolutely!!! And it is difficult when people assume we have so much free time since we are home. I have honestly never been so busy in my life, and boundaries are absolutely essential in protecting our peace!

    I cannot express how much I needed to hear this. I’m a people pleaser as well and still struggle with boundaries and the ability to say no, as a homeschooling mama of nine years.
    Thank you for opening up and allowing yourself to be vulnerable in the hopes of helping other families! Your honesty, wisdom, encouragement, and willingness to share the love of Christ is a blessing to this tired, stretched far too thin mama.
    I believe God used your words to lay upon my heart that boundaries are indeed what is lacking in my family’s life. The absence of them is robbing us of our joy, time, and peace.
    So thank you Christie, (sp? 😬) for these gentle reminders, and I’m looking forward to diving into the two books you recommended.
    God bless you and your sweet family and thank you again! 😊

    Well said, Christy! Very well said. God first, be honest with yourself with what you can handle healthily, and simplify your life where you can. This is my 8th year homeschooling and it has definitely been a journey. I've been watching you for a few months, and I can see that you really have a heart to connect with and help other homeschool moms. I personally felt that connection with you today and your encouragement was strengthening! I want to encourage you back by telling you that you are doing an amazing job here on your channel. Your authenticity and passion are inspiring! Thanks for all that you do, sister. God bless! :)
    Also, I seen in one of your previous videos that you are from NWI! I grew up in Hobart and lived there til i got married. I now reside in Alabama with my husband and kids, but i always love coming back to visit my family and the dunes!

It is so nice to listen to another mother growing, learning, stumbling through this crazy ride just like I am! I am a homeschooling mom to three boys and you truly sang to my soul today, it is so easy for me to become consumed with the areas in my life where I feel like I'm failing or need to improve, that I'm missing all the things that I'm succeeding at, I'm not being content in my season! I loved this and learned so much. Thank you. I need help learning how to put homeschooling first and put the phone away however I have 5 at home still and 2 of those are special needs, 1 of which needs a lot of scheduling, planning, daily treatments, etc. I feel like I can't keep up and we will be getting a provider soon to help me but I feel like this will be another distraction. I have a 14 special needs, 12, 10 special needs, 7, and 3. Example: some weeks have 4 appts, 2 therapies, maybe even an overnight stay in another city to see specialist, daily injections or treatments through tube that may take an hour. What are your thoughts? Putting homeschool first when there's a child who needs so much and it effects all of them.

    • @OneBlessedMess
      @OneBlessedMess  2 года назад

      I think in this case, your child's therapies and appointments would need to take precedence, and homeschooling can be worked around them! You're an amazing mama! 💜

    Hi Christie! Beautiful video on implementing boundaries in your homeschool. I've been researching other homeschool mama's experiences in boundary issues because I'm putting together a Journaling Workbook & have created a group coaching program around this exact topic (which I think is often the reason homeschool mamas, my story included, are dealing with overwhelm, energy depletion and doubt). Our relationships to ourselves and others and whether we're acknowledging our needs, are so important. If you'd like to be on my season on Boundaries in our Homeschool for my podcast, Homeschool Mama Self-Care I
