Good morning! I’m also a homeschooling mama with 4 kids. Ages ranging from 9-1, and also starting on our 5th year this September. Thank you for the encouragement!
I have a 12th grader, 2nd grader and kindergartener. We are still finding what works for us in staying organized. My 12th grader is also very busy in her schedule, so finding time we can go over things together is a new challenge.
We are embarking on our year with our wild 1 year old. I rely pretty heavily on learning videos to keep the littles busy. But that leads to jealousy and major distraction from the oldest. So. We are going to trialing noise cancelling headphones for independent work. Fingers crossed and prayers sending it helps. 😂
Thank you for your sweet videos. Loved Zoe’s flowers, that’s one of my favorite mama heart moments…especially when the roots are still there 😂❤ Mom of 2 here, heading into year 4 and I feel like this year I am more relaxed with choices, as we’ve honed in on our routine and things we make priorities for our homeschool. So blessed ❤
Love watching your videos! This is my first year homeschooling my 1st grade son. Wow, the freedom is right🎉 we’re loving it so far, but have also started with some routine/structure. Thanks for all your tips. ❤
My biggest struggle is getting the flow right. My oldest does good, she loves doing all school work. My 5th grader and 1st grader are opposite and they are not motivated at all. So it's hard to get to everything because I spend so much time just getting those 2 to do the bare minimum. Thanks for sharing the tips.
Have you thought of some sort of incentive system? While I haven't been consistent with it in a few years, we had a reward system where I would give out "bucks" (fake money) for good attitudes, doing their best, etc. At the end of the week, they could cash in for little dollar store finds or extra screen time. It worked great for my more unmotivated learners!
I have 3 im homeschooling. You've got some great tips! I don't have toddlers, but a 6 year old with some behavior problems we're working through, making it a bit more difficult to give the older kids the quiet they need. I too take advantage of some screen time, and TGTB youtube is one that I love! So soothing and calm.
I found your channel two days ago. Not realizing it must have been very old until yesterday. You started with “2nd year homeschooling” and there was a baby in the video. yesterday, I watched one of your videos and your baby was starting preschool 🤯 now mcexcuuuuse me! 5th year homeschooling 😂 Gives me confidence! It’s our 3rd year homeschooling. I have a kinder (doing 1st) and a pre-K (doing kinder) and a 1 year old 🥰
Thank you for the tips! I’m starting my first year homeschooling my kiddos (6 yrs and almost 5…and a 11-month-old). I’m a bit overwhelmed, but encouraged by other mommas paving the way!
Hi 👋 there!! I am going into out 10th year homeschooling!! I have 6 children and They range in age from 15 to 4 years old !! I very much suggests a routine and to be very organized !!!
Yes! I have 4 girls! Girls will be 11,9,5, and 1! My youngest had colic during the start of our last homeschool year and now she is mobile lol. I'm hoping this year to have more of a routine again! When she is awake I have them handle all of their independent work Monday- Thursday and when she is asleep we knock out instruction work. And then the Friday we do our science and History, and I'm planning to make sure I have sensory stuff for the youngest as well. And yes I do the Pre-K first thing because so much is reading to her while the others girls do their independence but last year it was more laz and this year will be more of a structure! And I do the Libby app for her and I pull up Nat Geo read along and SciFi Kids she adores!
Homeschool mom of 5 here. 3 are school-aged, and then there is a a fresh 2 year-old, and 10 month old. To make it through the day, some safe and productive screen time for the toddler, is necessary!
Love your channel, I've always found it so refreshing and a breath of fresh air! I'll be homeschooling grades 1 and 4 this year, with a 7 month old and a 3 year old (who also dropped his nap back when the baby was born in Jan - I'm glad I'm not the only one with a non-napping 2-3 year old, but man, it does make it so much more challenging doesn't it!). We did great for the first half of last year - I gave the toddler a "busy box" and he loved it, but when the baby was born, we had to drop everything except Bible, LA and math. This year I know that's all I'll be able to handle again with 2 littles, but I'm planning on incorporating history and science through living books/Read-Aloud time, and hopefully fitting in some art and nature study once a week...or at least once a month...!
5 kids - including a busy 2 year old and just turned 1 year old. Last school year was 😵💫😴🥴 Hoping this school year goes more smoothly. We're hoping to start next year. Thanks for the ideas!
I have been struggling with this. I have 7 year old twins who have two completely different learning styles. And I have 2 year old literally running around while I'm trying to work with them. It gets super hectic. Thank you for the video.
I always have to remind myself that it is a temporary season! We have to do what works for us in those moments ♥️ You're not alone, Mama! Some days can feel like a juggling act 🤣
I have a 7 year old and a 3 year old and the most challenging is keeping my 3 year old occupied while I school my older one. I have NOOOO idea how ya'll do it with more than 2. I have a lot of teacher intensive curriculum so it's rough. All we can do is take it a day at a time! I 100% agree with you about filling your youngest child's cup first. When they are content, they are more likely able to do better playing alone later while you teach your student.
4 kids, one on the way. Last year was hard because our toddler had quit napping, but outside of that, we seem to do best with Breakfast, clean up, Bible, Read Alouds, outside for 1/2 hourish, group subjects, and then one on one while other kids are working on independent subjects.
Typically the ads on RUclips Kids app remain appropriate! I have also found that channels like TGTB's ads rely on an algorithm and stay pretty consistently clean!
I love love these tips!! Another one is I have switched to having my husband out my two year old to bed after family time and then I can carve out an hour in the evening for some quiet focused work with my older kids. They love for me to read our Sonlight or even do our morning time type learning if we didn’t get to it. I also take some of our books to work on during appointments like the never ending orthodontist and OT appts. And we do utilize car school if there is an audio of any book we are reading or a good podcast or math facts songs.
This is our 5th year as well. I have a fourth grader, a 2 1/2 year old and a newborn. I’m prepping a lot and keeping it as simple as possible. We’re still trying to get our new rhythm with a baby. ❤
Starting year 18 for us with my 6 left who are school aged(*oldest 3 are graduated and living their adult lives!) Highschool Senior, Highschool Freshman, 8th grader, 6th grader and two 3rd graders(*not twins 😉)
Good morning! ☕️ Where are all my multiple-kid homeschooling mamas at?! 🙋🏼♀️❤

We started in 2019 so every year we have to get more creative 😅

We can only do so much, Mama! Especially in the seasons when we are spread so thinly! You've got this! ❤️❤️
5 kids - including a busy 2 year old and just turned 1 year old. Last school year was 😵💫😴🥴
Hoping this school year goes more smoothly. We're hoping to start next year. Thanks for the ideas!
It can be a complete whirlwind once you have a baby AND toddler in the mix 😅😅 Been there, friend!! Here's to a smooth sailing year for you! ❤️

Can you share your toys for only school time?
How do you make sure the ads are appropriate on RUclips when playing those ? That’s my only worry!
Typically the ads on RUclips Kids app remain appropriate! I have also found that channels like TGTB's ads rely on an algorithm and stay pretty consistently clean!
Mom of 5: 8,6,3,2, and 1. Two toddlers and a baby has been 🤯 this year.

Absolutely!!
