    Hi everyone! Let me know what kind of Twinmotion tutorials you'd like to see in the comments below! :)

      Twinmotion just updated with a live link to Sketchup feature. Would be great to see you give a crack at it and explain the ups and downs of using that new feature vs just importing. I've been using Twinmotion to create renders for event/party design so one thing I do a lot in Twinmotion is importing lots of Sketchup models to easily move them around the scene in Twinmotion. But I have noticed it seems to make Twinmotion a bit more unstable.
      EDIT: One thing I've noticed about using the new live link function is that you can't move your model around. So it's probably better for me to keep importing decorative models using the import function in order to move, scale and rotate them around the scene.

      Hi! It will be interest to import user model with movable parts. For example train with wagons. Railway and snapping to path to railway.

    It will always drop the Obj (or SKP or whatever file it is) in the same coordinates of the file origin. TM sets the "spawn point of the model based on the same coordinate with the same axis unless you change those beforehand in the import options. This will also fixate your gizmo to the zero coordinate of that file and unlike - _let's say_ - Maya, I haven't found a method to change its location yet.
    Long story short, place your objects in the middle of your working space before importing them and once you place them into TM it's always the same spot in the middle! You're welcome!^^

    This was the most helpful one for me. Twinmotion seems very limited without this. Thanks a lot!

    As mentioned by someone here, it would be nice to see how to animate sliding doors, regular doors, or a garage door !
    Hope to see a tutorial about this.

      Unfortunately this is a lot easier in Lumion - theoretically you could do this with a custom animation and path, but it's a bit...tricky

    Hi! How can I group objects?

  • @sarahjessicaharris3265
    @sarahjessicaharris3265 4 года назад

    Does this keep the file size down? Like if you were to add that car to your library, then place 15 more from the library, will it act as a twinmotion object? or will it act as 15 more imported model objects and up the file size/polygon count and slow the file down

    Hi Justin, I really enjoy your video and learn a lot about both Twinmotion and Lumion. I have one question: Is it possible to transfer a model that I have worked on in Lumion to Twinmotion and continue to work in Twinmotion and vices versus? Would be very appropriate your answer

    Hi Justin. I found this problem with objects added to user library: they don't update when you refresh them in the import panel, any thoughs?

  • @bohbro

    Hey Justin. I likehow you can use the content list to find objects in your scene. Is it possible to do it the other way around? I.e. find selected objects in your content list easily. Sometimes I have a lot of content in the models I bring in and I can’t find stuff I want in the list because there is so much stuff to scroll through! Cheers

    Greetings, Is it necessary to add the maps, texture of the imported models to the custom library as well (TM creates a folder '..._extracted_materials' in the source folder - one the model has been imported from. I have noticed whilst the imported and saved in Custom Libray model does not keep the maps and texture setting at all.
    Thank you in advance

      No clue - I know you can link them up, but I don't know how Twinmotion stores the maps...

    Hi Justin! I love your tutorials, when looking for answers I always check to see if you have anything on the subject. I need to be able to create an animation of a few objects spinning in place in Twinmotion. Is it possible?

    • @TheRenderingEssentials
      @TheRenderingEssentials  4 года назад

      I don't know - Twinmotion's animation tools seem mostly optimized for animating objects along paths - I'm not sure if you can do this or not

    are user libraries specific to the user? Another way of asking, if someone else opens my model, will they see the user library parts and textures.

    • @TheRenderingEssentials

      I don't believe they see your user library - I think that's stored on your computer

    Is there anyway to add a third party animation person from a website like 3d people. Looking for people playing sports, which Twinmotion doesn't have any. Found an animation playing soccer but can not figure way to load them and be fully stylized. Have any suggestions?

    Your content is the best Twinmotion info on line thanks!
    I have a question relating to the above tutorial....
    In Twinmotion, user objects keep coming apart because you can't select the whole object with a click - You have to select it through the Browser. When you select your user objects to move, they break apart because you can only select the sub groups with the pointer (move tool) selector.
    The only work around I can find is to completely explode your model before installing it into Twinmotion. - but this has it's obvious disadvantages.
    There needs to be a better way of grouping instances - so they work like the preset library.
    Also, a way to locate the gizmo axis in a sensible location would be useful too.
    Am I doing something wrong ?
    Thanks.

    • @TheRenderingEssentials
      @TheRenderingEssentials  4 года назад

      Do they break apart if you select the "parent" group in the browser? I'm not sure about the gizmo axis - I don't quite understand the issue you're having there. Thanks!

    • @GarethThomasTunes
      @GarethThomasTunes 4 года назад

      The Rendering Essentials - They don’t break apart if selected as the ‘parent’ folder in the browser. So that seems like the way you have to select user components.
      Somehow the ‘factory’ components are able to be selected by clicking on the actual component group in your model. ie) the sofa and it’s cushions (in your model) are selected with a single click.
      A ‘user’ sofa and it’s cushions would have to be selected one by one while holding control of you wanted to shift them in the model - which takes time and leaves room for messy mistakes.

    thank you that was informative ,how can i add an imported car like you did to move along the path on the street .
    second question ; can i export animated car like(4 door opened ) from anythird party and import it on twinmotion
    thanks in advance

    • @TheRenderingEssentials

      You'd have to use a custom animation object for the first. I'm not sure that the second item is possible at the moment

    I am a landscape architect in northern Europe and miss all kind of European plants for use in gardens.! Where can I find that stuff for Twinmotion (SketchUp).?
    And how can I share my personal library of elements whit my partner in the other end of my country. A synced folder in Dropbox would be perfect. Is that possible.?

    • @TheRenderingEssentials
      @TheRenderingEssentials  4 года назад

      You could sync the dropbox file, but you'd have to update/insert the models into Twinmotion manually (I think)....
