Suddenly Twinmotion takes a HUGE leap forward!! Almost ahead of Lumion perhaps?!?! It would be so nice to see a "striped lawn" texture... I guess it might be possible to create the stripes in SU as two different materials and then use two different edge grasses?! Bit of a clunky workaround for now (hopefully!)
still far away from lumion rendering wise, but this new grass options etc are right direction. they should update sky domes, add gpu render support, make much more realistic people etc, then we're getting close to some very nice and easy render/real vr solution.
I do definitely still find applying grass based on material like Lumion has to be a lot easier - I kind of think they have this feature this way on purpose to reduce load on your PC, but I would like to see a way to apply based on material. This is a huge improvement though
Thanks as always Justin. For me it is only a step forward. The grass still looks patchy and will still take too much time to fill in with smaller and smaller brushes even at 100% density.
Like you said, the new "border grass" upgrade ain't perfect but heaps better than the original and I kinda like the patchy effect it has on the surface, it gives the lawn areas a more realistic look, rather being something applied out of a can, lol. Can't see any videos by you regarding "Custom Paths", I have an issue in regarding contouring a path in elevation, I can't seem to get the characters, vehicles & bicycles to follow road dips and hills. Keep up the good work as I love you videos, us seniors resonated much better with "voice overs", better than watching a "cursor" flying around the screen.
Haven't done anything with custom paths just yet - it's on the list but I haven't quite gotten there. Glad you're liking the videos - I figure if I'm going to make something, I might as well take the time to explain what I'm doing so people understand it :)
I don't know what I am doing wrong, but this is not working at all. Neither my vegetation plant or bucket tool. I am working on TwinMotion 2020. Very frustrating
This is still such a clunky and awkward way to apply 3d grass. It's better than before.... but even then I see after you filled in everything there were still noticeable gaps in the grass at the end. Thanks for the video as always!
@@TheRenderingEssentials -- i literally jusr got started with Twinmotion last week and your videos are incredibly helpful. I don't understand what this means...Photomatch is just using a photo to create a SketchUp model - the process once the model is created wouldn't be any different...
@@TheRenderingEssentials I think what he's proposing is a video that shows a project from start to finish. Starting with an image imported into Sketchup with photomatch, then rendered in Twinmotion to see how it compares to the original image that was imported into Sketchup.
I'm new to Twinmotion, and I tried your tutorial to make detailed grass, everything was fine except for the grass size, it came big size, I tried all parameters but they didn't help, I did my model in 3ds max, centimeter, exported to fbx.
Since the bridge between Twinmotion and Unreal (UE) will be released at the end of this year can you make some UE tutorials too...just like Niko G does :)
I've never watched any of his stuff, so I can't promise similarity - at some point I do want to do more with Unreal Engine, but I'm kind of waiting to see where Epic goes with Twinmotion
thanks for this video very helpful. Please after creating my video clips on my twinmotion 19' I can't find the export tab to export my video and images please any help on this? thanks
Thanks for the video! This will be really helpful when twinmotion stops crashing and my materials will actually import correctly. Have you had any material import issues? I have left hierarchy in the first few new models since upgrade. After watching this video I will try to collapse by material.
Greetings Justin, just one short question if you do not mind, please. Is there similar to Lumion TM possibility to paint a terrain with a custom material? Than you in advance.
Good day, thank You for Your videos! I'm using MacBook pro 2014 with 16 gb ram and NVIDEA GT750 , so the issue of optimising viewport performance is quite important in my work flow:) I switch of oceans, grass, make view quality lower in order to have more or less ok experience, while building a scene. However, when I populate the scene with a lot of trees, I run into my Macbook's performance difficulties. Could You please advise me if there is an option to switch off all the trees, and only enable them in the viewport just before render.... . Thank in advance.
I can't decide which software to get, lumion or Twinmotion. Which software would you predict taking the lead in the next year as the overall better product if price is not a consideration?
Not a big fan of this question because price is ALWAYS a consideration, and because we don't know what Epic is going to do with Twinmotion in the next year. As is, if you're looking for more options to adjust your renderings, Lumion gives you more control, and currently a larger object library. Twinmotion though, is available to anyone for free, at the moment - I have no clue how the whole thing will play out, other than as people that use 3D Renderers, we all win
The Rendering Essentials Do you think Epic is holding out some insane features? It’s a good point. They could be trying to grab as many people as they can with the free version, then dump a bunch of insanely cool features that will make us all want to fork over the money. They have the resources to make this something revolutionary. Only time will tell!
Wish I knew the upcoming cost once it is no longer free. In November both Twinmotion and Data Smith become paid extensions of UE, if I remember correctly. I believe Data Smith is slated for somewhere in the neighborhood of $30-50 per month. I've not had enough time to work with either to feel comfortable paying for them monthly (not a fan of subscriptions).
I just started to use twinmotion and love your tutorials. Thank you for that! I'm having a problem with adjusting my sketchup model's positing on twinmotion.. Has I import it to TM, the model appears way to far of the ground and I just can't drag it down, even when I use the gizmo.. Can you please help me to solve this?
@@TheRenderingEssentials I have solved it by moving its position in sketchup. :) But thanks anyway! Remember when you were talking about "two sided" in texture's tutorial? I know the purpose of that. When you have a window with some thickness like glass curtains, that is, 2 glass surfaces on front of each other separated by a small distance to reproduce thickness, and you want it to keep looking like a single glass you have to use that property so it continues to look like it, otherwise the inside surfaces doesn't act like glass. :)
Well I can't really make that decision for you - but if you download Twinmotion for free now, you get to keep the current version forever. That doesn't mean you get future updates for free, but this version remains free if downloaded before November...
They really need to copy the solutions in Lumion if they want to pull me away from Lumion. You can get so much better finished images with less effort. The #1 thing they need is the ability to make an entire material solid grass like Lumion. I cant think of one client who wants to see patchy grass in there yard. Also, I don't want to paint grass.
I'm not sure I think they need to copy Lumion, but I do think adding a solution where you can render grass based on a material would be a really good idea. I also think the addition of some better mass placement tools would be helpful. I'd particularly like to see the ability to place objects randomly along a path - that's a really good tool that I use a lot in Lumion. Excited to see what comes out next spring!
@@TheRenderingEssentials Yea I just mean some of the tools they need to copy. Also some post processing effects need to be added like lumion. I don't want to have to use photoshop after a render.
Good morning everyone! Let me know what you think about the realistic grass pack in the comments down below! :)
I would have liked to see how it rendered, though it is a feature which makes it easier to use grasses.
We love it..! And we love you..! Keep the good stuff coming man..!
It renders about the same as the grass did before - I think it looks fairly realistic especially with a grass material applied to the backup
Hello friends, can you let me know how should i update this high quality Grass in my 2019 twinmotion?
Hi man. Very cool tutorialo. But, please, I can't find where to download the grass pack :) Thank you by the way
