- Today we are going to talk about Lumion and Twinmotion, two of the most popular rendering software in the market today, they both have great tools and features that we are going to talk about and compare.
Lumion is a Popular rendering software; it is designed for rendering images, panoramic pictures, and animations. the software improved a lot and every new version is better than the previous one with a lot of new features to make the job much easier.
Twinmotion is also designed for image rendering, panoramic images, and videos as well. This software has the ability to generate high-quality results in addition to Virtual reality and its real-time rendering features. it also can be used to collaborate with a lot of BIM and CAD modeling software.

I personally prefer Twinmotion. It’s super easy to use and I think the base renderings are quite good. I just export them into Photoshop and work a little further to get a really good result.
Would have been better if you showed a model rendered both in Lumion and Twinmotion and compare them side-by-side

price comparison is the best comparison. Twinmotion $700 for pro version, Lumion 11Pro is 4.5K
I always found it nearly impossible to match a colour chip sample in lumion. Making it match with TwinMotion to the colour is a lot easier.
All my life I never used any rendering software but Lumion, I wanted to switch but after seeing the video and reading the comments, I think I'll just stick with Lumion. Both software have their advantages and disadvantages, pick one and stick with it.

*Being a long time Twinmotion user, the only thing iam frustrated is it crashes everytime*
That's just the problem about it
The work around to that is to run Twinmotion from epic launcher. This sets it up to properly use the graphics card and system resources or something. When I tried this it was not crashing as opposed to the direct running of Twinmotion from the desktop

What is the use of software that only lets you put pre made or bought assets into a scene? 3d modelling software can do the same and you can alter the 3d models isn't it?

As both a Lumion and Twinmotion user since 4 yrs now. I would say both of them have complementary features.. Lumion is much more stable and robust and has got a good lot of models available for populating the environment. Twinmotion is really good with handling of 3d data and manipulation..like it's easy to load in 3d object and move it and place it in the scene. I only wish lumion had a transform gizmo..that would the best thing ever..

@@einsamerkeks5977 in my opinion right now lumion has much improved and yes definitely easy to use. But as soon as twinmotion gets the nanite and lumen support then it would the winner again.

Great video, but slightly unfair that you didn't mention Twin motion's free trial!!! It's the best part of twin motion. I have been a Lumion user since University BUT it has always been unreachable after graduation. I will be switching over to Twin motion.
I prefer the raw edges of twinmotion. Lumion is so clean and perfect.. less room for your own style.

If Epic implement new UE5 in TM, it will overperform Lumion in any way. Lumion is great but new UE5 is unreal good and realistic in every point... :-)

@@daedulsworkshop Very likely. They just made bridging between UE4 and Twinmotion materials and assets a lot easier too and the team already claimed they would improve those facets even further.

Lumion material look is very clearly and effectively but some slow rendering mode and twinmotion have high speed rendering mode , two boths are more important in Design and rendering field 👍

twinmotion is great product and since it's been bought by epicgames they're trying hard to bring more and more modifications...now a twinmotion model can be transferred to unreal engine...

what software do you actually building the house or building? From what I can see twinmotion is only designing the environment rather than the building... also how do you import the house or building design into twinmotion?
There are different softwares that you can use and twinmotion is offering a bridge (software addon) for free, that lets you directly export from for example archicad into twinmotion.
I use revit linked to twinmotion, but you can easily import from sketch up too

I tried twinmotion after using Lumion for ages. It's not an upgrade nor a downgrade. I can use both but i prefer Lumion
Both programs are very good, they have almost minor differences, the renderings you will get from a project vary depending on your graphics card system and professionalism. These programs need to be compared not with similar ones, but with systems such as corona vray. If Chaos company releases a new rendering program independent of 3D design programs, I think it will be very well received in the market.

For me Lumion quality is way better than Twinmotion, but on the othet hand Twinmotion is real time, but here is the twist I think Enscape is better if the have some scattertool in there software thats all I want and maye some custom grass like lumion or Twinmotion

Well to sum up my experience. Lumion costs an absolute bomb but it is stable and looks better for sure. Twinmotion is cheap and looks OK but man it crashes so often it is extremely frustrating.

That’s true .. that’s the only reason I move to TM to LM.
Saying that the team are always working on bug fixes and it's getting more stable. Also the direct connectivity to unreal engine has now made twinmotion a powerhouse

Lumion best for Architects but with low quality as compare to twin motion n time taken in animation, other hand lumion have no Ctrl +Z' which is its main draw backs, often u lost ur stored work n have no idea where the same texture get again...
lumion gets extremely slow with urban projects, even on a high end graphics workstation

These are such hard videos. Comparing $185 software to $3000.00 software. I am trying to understand why so many comparisons on this subject matter. Lumion is one of the most overpriced render engines. Period. I'd have to think that most of the time folks will be looking to compare free to sub $500.00 range. No?
Twinmotion Model do not export for convert model video.

twinmotion renderings looks flat, interior lighting in daylighting is broken or sucks. Lumion all the way. I wish Lumion was for mac though...

For me lumion cannot be compared to twinmotion lumion renders are much better as compared to twinmotion i have tried twinmotion by myself its kinda easy but render nah not good. So lumion is the best.

well don't know about professionals or freelancers but students will never use lumion as its price is too high to be used causally, adding to that twin motion has a free version for students and non professionals.
If one makes a workflow in university to a software like twin motion and starts its profession there isn't a chance for him choosing lumion over it given that ur dad doesn't help it out.
at the end its all about what client prefers, for them it hardly makes a difference big enough.
some of the old architectural firms uses lumion as a standard, as they already have the license.

Lumion student version doesnt exist in some countries. That means you need to buy the professional license, which lets be honest it is ridiculous price-wise.

Now Lumion has better render and realistic, twinmotion has unreal engine tech, but dont see unreal quality and features on twinmotion, I think epic dont spent effort on twinmotion, they care unreal engine and unreal studio. They have more great tools quixel, megascan etc. Maybe they will buy a render company and add twinmotion, but now Lumion is king about realistic
Maybe when Unreal 5 release they will kinda switch the engine for Twinmotion also of just bring the quality of Unreal 4 into Twinmotion that would blow Lumion out of the water, what do you think about Enscape? Its pretty good also the quality but kinda limited in some areas leta see how 2.9 when they release and Lumion 11 also
