Car jackers, armed robbery suspects and squatters has more rights than a hard working man trying to make a living, SMH
100% true! sad
Squatters don't have it as eas anymore in Florida, thanks the the new law that Governor DeSantis signed.
"But now, Florida is removing squatters' rights, which will allow property owners to get rid of squatters instead of having to go through a formal process to evict them. Lawmakers passed Bill 621 unanimously in the state, giving police the right to immediately remove squatters."
The hard working man needs to follow the rules like everybody else. He's not special. And he's not entitled to squat wherever and do whatever in whoevers parking lot rent free. Jesus... You obviously don't know shit about business.

A prime example of how government only ruins things and does not help anyone, especially small business owners.
The mobile car wash where I live never does business at the same spot everyday (for 6 years), they go where they're needed. This man is a fixed business and must abide by fixed business regulations. He drives to work everyday just like most people do and he brings the things he needs with him just like lots of people do.
That was really nice of them at the end, for advertising this hard working man business. Another example of backwards City going after honest working citizens, and but not going after people committing crimes.

I would not be surprised if someone in the local carwash was a friend of the mayor on the city.

This is likely.
Yup cronyism. Get the govt to squash your competition because you’re shitty at what you do
Likely the mayor and the city council want the dozens of these pop up in a month car wash businesses to open up in town. Where I live we have gotten no less than ten in the last 5 years or so. Places like Mr Wash and such. They are everywhere now. They are bright shiny neon led having places. They inevitably start looking like crap within a year or two but I imagine the city makes a quick chunk of money in the meantime.

In America, there are rules to follow. We're slowly turning into a 3rd world country with vendors pushing carts around, selling products on the street, etc. If he's mobile, he need to be mobile. Everybody tries to find a way to skirt the rules, which is what he's obviously doing here. Of course, there are lots of rules that don't make sense, but thats where changing the rules/laws comes into play. If you build a car wash, had invested 100's of thousands of dollars, and some *sshole shows up in a van and parks in a spot in the mall across the street, you wouldn't be happy either. Same thing with the food trucks and vendors. If he's mobile, he should be moving around. Not in the same place every day. Simple!

Homeless people can setup tents anywhere and squatters can intrude into vacant homes with impunity, but hardworking people aren't allowed to work.
On point! This world is backwards
It doesn't make it right. You are taking extreme examples and saying that because this or that group are violating the laws, everyone should be able to violate the laws. What if I wanted to park on the sidewalk in my city, and told the police when they gave me a ticket, "Wait, you allow these homeless people here to live in tents and make the sidewalk filthy, but you don't allow me to park on the sidewalk a block away? If sidewalks are allowed to be residences, then I should be allowed to park on them, too, especially since I live in my car, so it's a residence as far as I am concerned." While I understand the business owner's frustration, I also understand the municipalities situation. As stated, he is in the same location, same parking spots every day. So, he needs to move to a different location every day.
One of my first businesses I started as a young teenager was washing cars. I went to the office where my Aunt worked and washed her car for her. One of the executives was walking into the building and asked me how much I'd charge to wash his car. Jokingly, I spouted $100. He handed me the keys. Then more people that worked there saw me and also had me wash their cars. I was averaging 2 cars a day for several months. In the 80's, that was good money for a 13 yo. So I know what he does.
Regardless, he should simply move his operation to a dealership or one of the other allowable locations as stated in the law or move the van to another location when he is washing them.

God bless him. now he has to take that good and honest business and operate it within the parameters of the law. like most businesses have to. all he has to do is to ask a small store can he rent two parking spots for 25 bucks a day. almost anybody would do it. that is over 700 bucks a month for spots that are mostly empty anyway. i used to sell peanuts beside the road. we would only give the manager a 10 dollar bill for the day and they could care less. that was years ago though. 10 is not much today. also, please dont tell me that you actually think they audited his taxes, LOL. most of these businesses are not registered. they are hustles to pay the rent. just like selling peanuts by the road. if you think I paid taxes on money from selling a few peanuts a day, you are wrong.@@kasarnfla
because when I used to cut grass I did not pay taxes. i paid sales and gas taxes. if you think the guy in your neighborhood cleaning yards and cutting grass is gonna give Uncle Sam his take....think again.@@myradawnn
This is so messed up. Heaven forbid someone should actually want to work for a living instead of being a bum or criminal.
Makes sense. Mobile car wash isn't so mobile if it's stationary. Also all the chemicals keep getting dumped in the same place without proper sewage/drainage.
Friend of mine just opened a car wash and spent 100k alone on sewage/drainage.
Mobile means you GO to the client. Maybe they don't understand themselves what they are fighting for.. I get it, they aren't mobile if they've been in the same place for 6 years.
True. Good point
The definition of mobile is able to move or be moved freely or easily, it doesn't say you must be moving. Since they are able to move when they want the name mobile is linguistically correct.
@@kenlompart9905Nope. They can make any excuse they want, but they're gone now.
Actually the news didn't add more to the story. They get permission from the owner of the parking lot so they can be there.
I them personally they clean my truck every week. The police dept and the code enforcement is trying to extort them for money. I've seen them on several occasions come by with their hand out, making demands and harassing them. These are very corrupt people from Cuba running these agencies in South FL and these people stood 10 toes down not handing over their hard earned money to them. What they think these people make millions of dollars a week from a car wash business?? The car wash people are very decent people and hard working. The people of South Florida is being over ran by Cubans attacking small businesses with their Mob tactics and we are not going for it.
He is mobile. He's certainly not stationary.
Lot of comments in here going wild on people for trying to work honestly.

Breaking city ordinance is not being honest or a good citizen.
@@stuwest3653 He has been there for 7 years and there are bigger fish fry. That's so weak what you said.
@@TravisDoesKayakFishing He should be happy he got away with it for 7 years. What he is doing isn't fair to the taxpaying businesses, especially his competition. Your mind is weak.
@@stuwest3653 by all means lets punish him because he is smarter than his competition and found a way to do things with much less overhead and investment....(sarcastic eye roll). you must be a libby for sure.
Same the world over. Work hard, do it properly, pay taxes and get $hit on by the system. Break the law and rules, make loads of money and get hardly any punishment if caught. I wish these people the best of luck with their situation
I think the property owner (or their insurer) wants them out due to liabiltity, but easier to let the city to do it than to face them.
Go to the clients house or have them come to your shop, your very lucky to have gotten away with it this long. In ohio they'd shut you down day 1

exactly
This was an agreement with the mall owners. Clearly this was a case of a competing business or an overzealous city official who was jealous of the dual. 6 years is a long time. Also, if your city acts that way, it does not mean it is right.
I don’t begrudge him his business, but to me a mobile car wash is someone that comes to your home or office. If he’s in the same location everyday, then it’s not really mobile.
If he isn’t in a brick and mortar bldg….. he is mobile. Jeeeez
The city 100% did not expect them to actually have a business license so they had to think of a new plan.
Did you see that beautiful kitchen? Probably a wonderful home and a great family. Kids, pay attention because this is what honest, hard work gets you. No need for a college degree, just come ready to work and be smart enough to do great things with what you earn - America, baby!
I used to have a mobile car wash come to my neighborhood and use a compressor. I notice they use one too. They are very noisy and the soap and water go down the storm drain but regular car washes are required to recycle their water. I don’t live in a commercial zone and I don’t want this noise in my neighborhood.
He thought he found a loop hole to save money, taxes and everything else involved in a business and he won for 6 years, but it finally caught up with him. I'd like to know who was paying his water bill all those years. And yes, all that grease and oil and what not going straight in to the sewer. However, it's not much different from people washing their own cars at home if he was too go their homes like a mobile car wash is supposed to do.
