    Not usb-c, not changable battery?, only 1080p... Why not just clamp your phone to the spotting scope? A clamp like that is like 10$ and the camera would be infinitely better.

      Agreed. Not to mention the module doesn't center on the spotting scope, so if you have a smaller occular lens, the camera won't be centered.

      Exactly, the shitty chinesium clamp I have for my phone can adjust in any angle and my fancy phone films perfect in 4k...@@GldenRetriever

    To extend your drone battery life, once you get to the target, land the drone on a pad and film from a perch. It will allow you to film considerably longer. Also, I’d be tempted to attach a counter weight to the front of the spotting scope to balance out the Hawk. Looks like a fantastic tool. Did your mother name you after me? Thanks Gav

    Considering it's basically just a repackaged HD security camera (wireless/battery like a reolink argus pro) with some extra software and only three times the cost, it's better than I expected.

    I have been using phone scope system and am ready to move up. I have the Leupold 15-45-65 . My biggest problem is my tripod, I have vortex that just does not quite extend enough, and another that is not strong enough with camera or phone added.
    Would you recommend a reasonable priced tripod that will handle the scope and longshot at around 6 feet extended please. Thank for all the good information you share. Bob

    I've been looking for something along these lines.
    But I gotta tell you Gavin, I cringe sometimes when you review something because all too often it's many times outside my buying abilities. 😢

      The offering here is pretty solid if you take a look at the product page - however, if this is truly out of reach, stay tuned for ranger. Ranger will be the most affordable option.

      I have this product, and I can't emphasize how correct he is on the tripod comment. I had mine on a cheap POS from amazon that worked fine for just holding the spotting scope, but it is completely garbage with the HAWK added into the mix. Rather unusable with a junk tripod, HAWK works great tho without that constraint.

    Somewhere an engineer is bashing his head into his keyboard because Gavin did not mention the whole point of this system is so you can watch the impact with your cheek still resting against the rifle (as opposed to phonescope).

    Could you test this on a spotting scope with a reticle? I cannot keep my Hawk from dancing focus from the target to the spotting scope reticle, making it useless. I wish it had a manual focus mode.

    Do you have to have Wi-Fi on your iPad or does the hawk come with Wi-Fi installed?

    • @Ultimatereloader
      @Ultimatereloader  5 месяцев назад

      Any device that you'll use to connect to the HAWK (phone or tablet) will need to be Wi-Fi capable. The HAWK has built-in Wi-Fi and broadcasts an SSID that you'll connect to with your phone/tablet. It doesn't need an internet connection to work- it's just using the wireless connection for streaming the video signal. :) - Kyle

    Big on talk but short on actual images? Difficulty of a spotting scope is seeing impacts at 600 yards, does this improve seeing impacts or not? My guess is that it does not! How does the camera center-up in the eyepiece since it only tightens from one side? You left more question unanswered than you actually answered..

    • @Ultimatereloader
      @Ultimatereloader  5 месяцев назад

      This is a camera - not an optical extension for your spotter. It records what your spotter sees. So if you can see the impact with your spotter, you can see it through the recording. Another benefit is after you have the recording, you can zoom in on the recording if needed. The HAWK clamps from the top down so if you align the bottom of HAWK with the bottom of the spotter eye piece, it will be centered. Also, the body does rotate if needed - Tyler
