Have absolutely no idea how this cropped up on my homepage but what a documentary it was! Absolutely loved Kris' attitude and love that she both won / made history. Noticed that on every obstacle showed, she stopped to help those behind too - got a new fan in me! Amazing job ladies!
So good of a movie. Couldn't help but notice how Kris always looked back for someone to help before leaving the obstacle. So incredible. Great story that was well told. Nice work to all.
Glad to see Kris win. She didn't put down others (whether they be other WTM people or other sports), she helped other competitors despite her desire to win, and she was humble in victory. What an inspiration!
Kris is amazing. Not only 100 miles but helping out everyone. Hannah was also amazing to run with. Good video. Clinton made me crack up. Thank you for producing.
This gives a really good overview of what it’s like to run WTM. Even an athlete amazing as Katie can have a bad race (by her expectation maybe, definitely not by any normal standard) Kris is truly amazing- at one point I saw her back under the cargo net and I thought she was disoriented- but she was just actually helping other mudders clear the obstacle. Truly shows you what tough mudder is all about. Hanna’s journey was great to follow- she is amazing. Thank you Matt and team for the very well produced doc and can you now please do another one featuring the men?? 😂❤
This amazing video goes to show that a huge budget isn’t needed to promote the world of obstacle course racing. Thanks orm for continuing to highlight ocr!!!
This hit me right I. The feels! Plus I had to wrap up in a blanket to watch because I remember how cold it was. Such a wonderful community! Thank you WTM for giving me some of the best memories of my 66 years on this earth!
Damn, the one year I miss WTM since 2016 and it's so big that a documentary gets made about it! Jeff did an excellent job putting the story together in a way that both an experienced OCR participant like myself and someone less so like my grandfather can enjoy!
Great Job MBD and Jeff!! I think Hannah made me cry at the end 😢 So awesome running with Kris and Hannah this year! Both are so encouraging to others! My favorite race of the year!!
These are some tough women! Thank you for highlighting some of the females (not that the guys weren’t great also!). These 3 accomplished something incredible and have the potential to inspire so many! Hoping your video has a far reach! Great work on this documentary 🙌🏻
More of these please. Watched 4x already… Such great movie! The scene with uber-Sweetheart Kris Rugloski lifting the 🇺🇸 to the finish line to cap that 100 miles, is goosebumps moment 🙌💪🏼🔥
@@jennyo2705as a top 3 finisher, what advice would you give to someone who has never completed in one of these races if they want to start training to participate? I've got experience running marathons but none in something like this event
@@ewoknips5154 I'm so sorry that I'm just now seeing this! I would first say maybe try a short distance Tough Mudder to see if you like it. In regard to WTM, gosh there is so much - run. Run a lot. Haha! It's primarily endurance. Obstacle efficiency is helpful but endurance is more important. Also learn how to eat while you move, it's an eating game as much as it is a moving game. Above all of that, it's a mental game. There will be moments (maybe most of the entire race) that are miserable but you have to make the choice to keep going, to make each foot take another step. I went into it thinking "Okay Jenny, you just aren't sleeping tonight. We're going to run until tomorrow. We'll run until it's over and see what happens". Stopping wasn't an option. I hope some of that helps!!
The story in this is very well put together -I'm sure no easy task with the hours and hours of footage - and looks great as well. I think you have captured the WTM spirit and the overall WTM experience in this film. Well done MBD and Jeff - keep up the great work.
🧡🖤🧡🖤 fantastic work Matt and Jeff- a good look into what ultra OCR and WTM demands- the athleticism/mental grit/gear prep/pit crew. Sometimes it all comes together and sometimes it all falls apart
Wow, this was awesome. Fun to watch the story line develop between these highlighted athletes and really captured what makes World’s Toughest Mudder so unique and challenging over a standard Ultra Run.
Best OCR Documentary EVER! Great balance between 3 ladies’ stories, pit crew, racing tips, and the vibe of WTM. Hope To see a men’s version in the future. I am doing Toughest in Pittsburgh in 2023 because of Matt and Jeff and my desire to experience a nighttime OCR….hopefully it won’t be this cold but I will be prepared due to Matt’s awesome podcast interview with a variety of athletes. Thanks
I’ve done spartan ultra races a few times; it always amazes how when I feel at worst running the race, I feel the most alive… you can go much farther than you think. Way to go !
Oh, and by the way, if you zoom out on Dublin Walls, you can see the spot where I dropped a MASSIVE deuce on Sunday morning. I was ready to burst out of my wetsuit
Love this! Over the moon to see this amazing battle between the women documented. Also love there style; something very new for OCR media, love how it brings the reality of how hard and hellish it is to life without romanticising it. These athletes go through huge battles and you’ve brought this across brilliantly. Well done 👏🏻

Such a great video! I love watching recaps like this and it’s so great to get more insight into some of the top athletes and how they approach the race. I think this also does a great job of showing the course for others who are interested and pit crew who maybe didn’t get a chance to see a lot of the course.

Wonderful video, thanks for putting that together. I’m guess there isn’t another one coming out covering the men’s race, would love to see coverage of that competition.
This is a must watch. Not only is it entertaining especially if you don’t know the outcome of the race but it tells the stories of the 3 women they focus on (Kris, Katie & Hannah) so well. It also really puts into perspective how difficult this race is when someone of the top athletes are quitting and covered up in 15 blankets to get warm, and how frustrating/humbling it can be when you can climb a freakin’ 4 ft hay bale cause you’re 18 hours in 😂 If you think you’ll ever try this race, you won’t regret watching this. They should just show it at next year’s briefing tbh 😂 I felt that bitter cold I felt on the night of November 12 all over again just watching 😅
I'm thinking the Barkley's might disagree with this. In 36 years it has only been completed 18 times by 15 people. Only 1 woman in a decade has completed the fun run (60 miles).
The elevation gains in the Barkley are insane. Unmarked course getting shredded by the brush…I agree with you. I’m sure you’ve watched “where dreams go to die”.
This course is pancake flat. Every hundred I’ve done has had 15k-28k feet of climb and descending. 5 mile loops lol always in a safe place not 40 miles into rugged wilderness.
Shawn the announcer if I’m not mistaken was the guy at my 5k tough mudder in Cali in April. He had a f*ck cancer patch and told us what his friend said to him before he passed away from cancer. Hi Judilynn. The race can be slightly longer than 24 hours. The rules have changed slightly over the years. For this particular event, you needed to begin your last lap by Noon, and end your last lap by 1:30PM. If you are mid-lap, you do not get any partial credit. She did in fact start and finish within those parameters. A bit too much to explain in the video, so there you go. :)
I don't think you can call this the hardest 100 mile race when the Barkley Marathons are a thing and have had 15 finishes in its entire history. No woman has finished that race and 1 guy has finished it 3 times but never back to back. There are some years where no one wins it and the first person to complete it did so in 1995 or 1996 and was the only person to complete it that year. Gallant pauses, and assists other runners, before moving quickly through the course.
Great video! Agree with what others said - speaks volumes when the winner herself took time to help others on the course. Bravo to Kris.

Yes, they have penalties...the type of penalties vary from obstacle to obstacle as well as year to year
Very strong competitors and a well made documentary. It's not close to the hardest or most challenging 100 mile race, however.
As a distance runner, i have no idea how they dont get extremely bad chaffing wearing compression shorts getting in and out of the water constantly.
