Well done. You are amazing and love your commitment. I understand as I was 2 months off turning 60 when I trekked Everest base camp via the 3 passes. Walked in very high altitude 4K to 5K meters above sea level for anything from 9 to10 hrs per day.

As someone who runs ultra marathons (nowhere at this level) you know the person who won this video for me, the support person at around 20 minutes who said (when Cortney was leaving the station) "have fun". That's what you need when you are in that spot. You need someone to remind you that you love this stuff and you are out here by choice and to have fun. It just changes your mindset!!
I'm here because of a short Joe Rogan interview I saw with Courtney. Her running achievements are ridiculous. You hear it. You read it. I watched it and I'm still dumbfounded by her greatness. She's unlocked a special pain thresh hold I don't understand. The best part, for me, is her humble, good nature. She could be a super next door neighbor or your kids teacher!
That's crazy at the 181.5 mile marker (aid station) she says "I don't know how much fight I have left in me." and "I'm in a weird, weird space right now." She then sees Kyle catch up to her then it does look like the camera cuts for a moment then I love how she has that look in her eyes (something clicked in her at 27:26) once she sets down the Gatorade and then she says "Kev are you ready?" Such inner drive and inspiration!
Her whole demeanor changed. She's an animal, in a good way of course. I'm amazed that she's out there beating the men. Very inspiring. And she does it with character and class.
I LITERALLY watch this before I run 4-6 times a week. We're all incredibly lucky that she's sharing a little bit of her life with all of us - we're all the better for it.
I donno why I started crying. But the whole crew is so down to Earth and she is so smiley and appreciative of life yet here she is doing an unfathomable amount of miles and makes it look like nothing. And people who can achieve so much...I am just in awe... And of course I also feel my own punity in the grand scheme of things as well.
As a triathlon guy who has never been in first, I can't imagine how demotivated I'd feel to be out in front and then lose it. I think that her finishing sub 50 hours after losing that lead is a massive testament to her drive and dedication and fortitude. I think many other athletes would have called it after being in such a bad head space and then losing the lead. Many other athletes would have lost the drive to finish. She's an absolute beast.

I'm extremely happy that this video already has 2.5 million views. That means more people are getting to know who Courtney is, and that trail running is getting bigger exposure.
I remember being glued to my phone live tracking this race taking bathroom breaks at work to peek at my phone to see where is Courtney lol. Courtney is such an inspiration to push on through difficult things in life. Thank you guys for this film and thank you Courtney. 🤩🏆💪🏻
She is Superhuman- physically, mentally, emotionally. All aspects come into play when you are pushing your capabilities like this. You lose one, the others compensate for a time. If you lose all of them, you stop. Courtney has found a way to rally one or two of these things to overcome being down in the other. Amazing. I truly do not understand how a body can do this sort of thing. I would disintegrate I think. LOL
Jack T Jeez. Mental: What’s my best strategy at this point? Emotional: I have so much joy that I can do this. Those are just examples of course, but perhaps you get the idea.
I've watched a bunch of these docs focusing on different runners and a common theme is the level of emotional investment and admiration from their teams who are often accomplished runners themselves. Says a lot about what it takes to do something like this on the top end.
@Logan Stroganoff on rock climbing you don't need "goofy gear", because it's always dry and in nice weather, in alpinism though, without the gear, you are going in certain death
One night I was pacing for a friend up in Alberta for his Iron Horse Ultra attempt. As a comparatively new runner I took note of the way my body felt after only having run a total of 55 kilometers. I thought about Courtney that night. I remembered the interview with Rogan, specifically the comment about eating nachos and cheese. Yeah...some nachos there Missy. Her attitude is inspiring, her ability to deal with discomfort will be something I'm reminded of for a long time yet as I progress.
I watch this video every night while I’m at work in this hot battery and I’m ready to quit, but I see how hard and how far she can push and it motivates me to keep going through the night. Thank you 17:04 is how I feel but I have to keep moving forward

Great film! Tough woman!
I am a hiker but I haven't "ran" since the Army 28 years ago.
Courtney, your inspiring me to run again. Gotta revisit the pain cave.
I mean - 200 miles is a long drive for me.
:')
Right !
I'm extremely happy that this video already has 2.5 million views. That means more people are getting to know who Courtney is, and that trail running is getting bigger exposure.
I can't tell you enough how inspirational you are Courtney! Thank you! And thank you Dream Lens Media for sharing her story. This is gold! 🙂
It's was our pleasure and we're so glad you've found inspiration through Courtney! We have too.
I remember being glued to my phone live tracking this race taking bathroom breaks at work to peek at my phone to see where is Courtney lol. Courtney is such an inspiration to push on through difficult things in life. Thank you guys for this film and thank you Courtney. 🤩🏆💪🏻
Thanks Chris! She really is an inspiration. Our honor to put the film together.
Lmao at the coffee refills. “It’s not a full cup if you haven’t finished it.”
I don’t know much about ultrarunning but you know what, I like her. 😉
LOL
What is the difference between mentally and emotionally? How are you just making stuff up
Jack T Jeez. Mental: What’s my best strategy at this point? Emotional: I have so much joy that I can do this. Those are just examples of course, but perhaps you get the idea.
She is the reason I am running again. I love her mental game, she is so inspiring!!
The support she gets from her family made my day, so beautiful to watch! 👏
I *love* this film so much I watch it regularly. Courtney is so inspiring and amazing and her love for ultra running is contagious!
We're so glad Jacki. We find her so inspiring and amazing as well! Her love for ultra running truly is contagious. You said it right!
I've watched a bunch of these docs focusing on different runners and a common theme is the level of emotional investment and admiration from their teams who are often accomplished runners themselves. Says a lot about what it takes to do something like this on the top end.
This was soooo good!!! So inspirational. Pain Cave. Going to use that to help me get through hard times physically, mentally and emotionally!
Best part is that she runs in a baggy t-shirt and basketball shorts.
@Logan Stroganoff on rock climbing you don't need "goofy gear", because it's always dry and in nice weather, in alpinism though, without the gear, you are going in certain death
my kind of woman
Why is that the best part? The best part is she can run HUNDREDS OF MILES. HUNDREDS!
@@joker24280 Rock climbing is always in dry nice weather? Rofl
I don't get how the hell they don't ride up. I wear shorts that have a 8" inseam and they bunch all up
Thanks so much for the behind the scenes glimpse! What a fabulous team! And, what an indomitable spirit!
Incredible film. Absolute savage of an athlete that deserves every accolade. Her humility and energy is inspiring. Keep it up Courtney!
Hats off to all competitors at this level
One night I was pacing for a friend up in Alberta for his Iron Horse Ultra attempt. As a comparatively new runner I took note of the way my body felt after only having run a total of 55 kilometers. I thought about Courtney that night. I remembered the interview with Rogan, specifically the comment about eating nachos and cheese. Yeah...some nachos there Missy. Her attitude is inspiring, her ability to deal with discomfort will be something I'm reminded of for a long time yet as I progress.
So incredible. My first marathon coming up in a week and Courtney is my inspiration. Going to try to break 3 hours. Courtney will be on my mind!
How did you do in the marathon?
I’m an old man. Novice runner at best at 68 years old. Courtney always gives me inspiration to keep plugging along. Love Her❤️😊
Brilliant Courtney. Bravo! A true testament to the resilience of the human mind/body/spirit.
First. This was incredibly well done. Second. She is amazing.
Thank you so much Harry! We agree, she is amazing.
I watch this video every night while I’m at work in this hot battery and I’m ready to quit, but I see how hard and how far she can push and it motivates me to keep going through the night. Thank you 17:04 is how I feel but I have to keep moving forward
She is truly an inspiration and her tactics keep me pushing myself further running. Not every day you see a runner doing it wholeheartedly with a smile. Keep it up!
Courtney is incredible! An amazing journey to watch unfold and gives us all a huge insight what it takes to tackle races like this
Stan’s a great teacher and an even better XC coach. This documentary is great!
Thank you!
Such great leadership principles here - team building, grit, vision casting in the ups and downs. I’m inspired to dig deep in my personal life and running dreams. Congratulations on the finish Courtney, I can’t wait to follow your journey on where you go next.
Courtney Dauwalter and Karl Meltzer are my two favorite ultra runners ever. They're both so inspiring and seeing them run makes me want to run.
I was crying.. This is an Athlete from out of this World and her Team is so supportive 😊
Love this.. ❤️ such an inspiration to keep going..
That was just amazing! Great job filming it and Courtney is just...undescribable! I am blown away. Congrats to you all!
So inspirational- not just in fitness but her mental strength is unbelievable
What a WONDERFUL person! She humbly accepts her accolades -seems almost embarrassed-😶 but also, gives so much credit to her running crew! I find her to be such a great inspiration!😃🏃🏼♀️👍🏾
26:32 Image Paused says so much. And 26:48 paused. Wow the Intensity and drive flowing is so powerful.
Thanks for putting this together! Courtney is such a legend and inspiration!!❤️
You're welcome! It was an honor. She is such an inspiration and we are privileged to tell her story!
I do not know how this is humanly possible. Truly amazing to watch.
Incredibly inspiring documentary. Courtney seems to be an amazing person with raw talent and an iron will to keep pushing. She's one of those special people that you don't often meet during a lifetime. You're amazing Courtney!
What an amazing film, of an amazing human, with an amazing team. I was super stoked to find out that her strength is not from some dark corner, it's a desire to not lose. That is the best kind of message. You create your goal and you let the pain of not achieving it, be greater than the temporary pain you are enduring. Love it! Thanks Courtney :-)
Such an inspiration. She alone has pushed me outside of my comfort zone. Forever grateful!
So awesome!
This documentary is unmatched, amazing to see what humans can do when pushing the limits of their own mind. Truly inspirational.
@18:57 "Light on the syrup, I don't even like sugar."
We all know that's a lie, Courtney. 😂
This was a great edit- well done guys! And Courtney- sheesh- what a rockstar.
Appreciate it Joa! Thank you or watching and agreed... total rockstar.
