Honestly though these people are working themselves into an early grave. Such extreme exertion is actually very bad for your body. The best thing is just to be standing up and moving around all day. Or if you can run 5k per day then great. Anything more is just being dumb.
Also she slept 21 minutes in 58 hours, despite the fact that the single worst thing for the human body is sleep deprivation. And honestly it shows as she looks like she's aged about 20 years beyond her actual age.
Courtney is the Real Deal. She was still there at the finish, welcoming in runners TWO DAYS after she finished. What she accomplished is singularly amazing -- I was sitting at the Road 46 Aid Station (Mile 148.9), Sunday late afternoon, when a race volunteer emerged from his RV and announced that the first runner had crossed the finish line. A few of us guys looked at each other, sort of in disbelief ... but also in celebration that another runner (human being) had just achieved something that was beyond our collective imaginations. It was a tough course -- including the elevation deltas and some rather technical trails plus avoiding the free range cattle and making sure not to take an impromptu trail nap on a cacti. What is even more amazing is that this was the 3rd race in the 200 Triple Crown (Bigfoot 200 / August, Tahoe 200 / September, Moab 240 / October). I had the privilege to run with a few of the folks that were wrapping up The Triple... they are amazing inspirational individuals.

I have a purely anecdotal theory that growing up in a colder climate like that can help build mental fortitude. when you have to deal with negative temperatures just to complete daily tasks, other stuff just doesn't seem as big of a deal.
@anna Anderson
Ha. I totally agree Anna.
Minnesota folks are American Norwegians, they inherited the genes from us Vikings and we picked the best genes from Britain and France during our raids 1000 years ago. Thats why we have the best genetics in the world (much humble, such wow)
Try living in New Mexico. I'd rather live in Minessota and die 60 than live in New Mexico and die 80
What's her secret you ask?...she was a highschool teacher that quit her job & went running through the hills like a mad woman. Ahh, now it all makes sense, other teachers can relate..lol
There's a lot of truth to this. I was in the best running shape of my life when I was a teacher. Running was a relief from the stress of teaching.
😂
This chick is so badass! I love how shocked Joe was when she was talking about not being on a healthy diet, or meditating, not talking supplements etc. Super normal cool girl. What an inspiration.
i get what you're saying by why is not being healthy an inspiration?
Modestas it's because she is just doing it and not on a strict regimen like so many super athletes are
I unload trailers for fedex.I can work circles around most people, but I eat junk food, guzzle soda and smoke cigarettes.Either you can do something or you can't.
Gordo Miguel LOL. That was an excellent comment.
It's true though. We get new hires who are health nuts or gym rats and they quit after two days to two weeks.
Am I crazy, or is that a perfect person?! Her mindset and personality surprise me more than if Rogan found a unicorn
Joe "I run hills" Rogan
Joe "I don't run" // "I run hills" Rogan
Joe "I don't run on treadmills" Rogan
Joe “I wear vibrams” Rogan
Every single one of these jokes sucks.
Joe "well I actually run, uhh, hills...." Rogan
"....Steep Hills"
Courtney Dauwalter is an absolute inspiration! Joe did a great job in this interview, you could tell that he is truly amazed at her abilities. I would say this, as a person who crewed a friends 100-Mile Ultra (Ozark Trail), let me tell you, there is a toll on the crew as well. Obviously, nothing like for the runner themselves, but I was absolutely exhausted by the end. I also pace him in for the last 12 miles. What an awesome experience. Anyways, ROCK ON COURTNEY!
Courtney "McGregor should be ashamed of his cardio" Dauwalter.
good one xD
I Tink, Derefore I Am I said cardio although I am a big fan of conor he has a problem with his gas tank and this lil blond monster run 200 miles for 58 hours straight !
boucif bensaid If she kept running around in circles in the octagon for around 14 minutes, McGregor would be too tired to stop her fucking him up 😄
Micheal Gallagher lool
boucif bensaid Not Straight bud
It's very entertaining to see so many of you projecting your insecurities onto this little lady.
David Velez yea that’s Human’s.. I believe her
Kind of like how you are LMAO
???
if she cheated she fucking cheated,
Nobodies projecting shit, that being said 90% of Joe's comments are from trolls so take that as you will.
I challenge anyone to take all the benefits of drugs/stimulants and come even a couple hours close to her time
Little lady? That sounds sexist
She is so beautiful and naturally charming. Wow
Joe : how did you beat everyone else by 10 hrs
Courtney : oh i had a good day
😂😂🙌🏼

"Pull that shit up Jaimie"
-Courtney
Bijan Guivehchi lol she fits right in!!!
Courtney "Pull that shit up Jamie" Dewaulter
hell yea, she comes right in and shows him who's boss
Lmao she runs the show now
SeinItUp you also want to see Jamie get dominated by an older woman? I'm with ya buddy; where's that podcast?
Joey Diaz would smoke her in a race. All he'd need is a pillow case filled with stars of death, a few hits of acid, and two cuban sandwiches.
That1Dewd 😂😂😂
He would probably just literally smoke her, roll her up in a paper and consume her like an errant psychedelic.
You for got to put cucksuka at the end pls retry
😆
Don't forget a good ball wash. She has no chance.
I get tired driving across the map on GTA
Lmao
For real lmao
The paleto score be like
Joe, you should have Christopher McDougall on. He's the author of the book Born to Run and writes about an indigenous superathlete tribe that could run hundreds of miles barefoot every day.
Superb suggestion
Joe so badly wants her to be super competitive but shes just so non chalant about everything
She’s got that PMA. Never seen someone so good at sidestepping negativity before. Incredible person.
What's pma?
@@teaearlgreyhot2143 Positive Mental Attitude.
"Never thought about quitting, deathmarch, I eat normal nachos and drink beer giving kudos to the rest of the runners..." She is amazeballs!!
The ultra community is the most compassionate, supporting and amazing group there is. I have done several ultras and even the elite athletes log some miles with you giving support and help push you through barriers.
"Do you get runner's high?", Joe, she told us she hallucinates!
I know, like c'mon man
Haha the hallucinations are from not sleeping in 58 hours though
"What's your diet like?"
"Ummm. Nachos , candy and beer" :)
And dick
Enter a name here and PEDs
That is very suspicious... Nachos, Candy and Beer... if you've ever trained for a marathon, you can't eat any of that shit. Nevermind 240 miles...
Zein yes you can
instant wife status
"he's walking along, doing his shopping, he brushes his teeth, he has a bit of sleep, he's driving along, and suddenly it hits him. TEN HOURS, SHE BEAT ME BY TEN HOURS"
my fav part lol
I literally cried
awesome podcast. This woman really puts it into perspective the power your mind has over your body. Congrats Courtney.
What a woman, amazing.
The 940 people that disliked this are going absolutely nowhere in life.
Youre wrong! they are going from the sofa to the bed.
Haha
Yeah, especially not into hospital after collaps, bronchitidis and who knows what else in early thirties...
Just remember - on a phone scrolling down it's easy to hit dislike by mistake. 90% of the dislikes are those. The rest are obese government workers
Love the flag, Joe. Also, this lady is a monster. 58 hours of straight running? It's astounding that someone could even walk that.
I'm pretty sure it's impossible to run for 58 hours straight. She had several breaks.
She probably has an enlarged heart and will be dead or suffer a heart attack in the next ten years.
I used to listen to realms off ur channel when i was 15 ur channel is da best
Why is he breaking her ovaries about taking performance drugs. What he expects her to share that with everyone and lose her sponsors and her edge in her tradecraft. I didnt like that he was so pushy about it, i mean Joe you can hint, but lay off after the twenty times...
Does she even have sponsors? Can't find anything on that and i doubt sponsors want so sponsor without connecting the name with their company.
Edit: I didn't listen to the part where she said she has sponsors... but still odd i can't find anything about her sponsors anywhere.
She was raised right. So polite and humble.
Absolutely blinding interview...Courtney was very humbling and an uncomplicated individual she had as much respect for the runners who took more time to complete the course...than for her own efforts.....fucking brilliant 💪👏👏.
Cheers
Des
She’s so chill and humble yet a complete badass
Man she's such an inspiration. Tripled my workout today and I feel amazing. Crazy how we limit ourselves in our minds. Keep pushin guys !!
back broken. send help
I can usually only handle a few hours on Netflix - I'm going for a 3 season binge!
Literally ran a marathon on 17th, looping this podcast. Such an inspiration!
Love the variety of guests team JRE 👍🏼
Blair Bryngelson this one was actually pretty boring. The Whitney Cummings one was way better.
Blair Bryngelson bout fricken time he has someone on the podcast that's not into comedy or politics
Oh my god! What an incredible person, 230 plus miles! She is so humble and cool as a cucumber, she has such a beautiful smile and SHE IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PERSON, she can do what I never could. I love her
"If that was real and I had 80 more miles I'd figure out how to do it."
Might be the most powerful sentence I've heard all year.
I like her. So modest.
Keep it up Courtney. You are a huge inspiration to many.
I ran 4K for the first time in years today. I didn’t see any guys with cellos but I did see Courtney in my mind...proper role model 💪🦶
Joe " do you meditate" rogan
Dude.. she's the one punch man of marathon running..
Paul stonger lmfao best comment ever
One Punch Courtney
It's so funny how Joe needs to hear some sort of a strategic, disciplined, well thought out plan for her accomplishments, yet, she just does not do any of that s**t! It doesn't make sense to him, so damn funny. Nachos, beer, no stretching, no meditation and beating guys by 20 hours...it's a head scratcher
Genetics.
honestly to me it makes no sense but I just gotta realise she is one of a kind
ultra marathon runner:
joe rogan: have you heard about the kid that got eaten by a bear during a race?
pimaldaumen ungefähr LOL
Alright Rogan, Goggins, Jocko, Haynes, and Courtney in one podcast. Team Bad Ass!!!
I don't want to brag but I walked to my son's bus stop this morning... Well actually I walked to the car and drove to it.
BEAST
But, u actually walked to ur house right after.. so.. kudos to u Mike!
Dude,,, you are ready.
Mike O congrats 🎈🎊🎉🍾
Run it next time
Not a calories counted, not a carb denied. Just living in the moment. That’s how it should be
Joe "Everyone should quit their jobs and craft Samurai swords for a living" Rogan
When you were partying I studied the blade.
When you were having premarital sex, I mastered the blockchain.
While you wasted your time at the gym in pursuit of vanity, I cultivated inner strength.
And now that the world is on fire and the barbarians are at the gate you have the audacity to come to me for help?
I’d like to quote Patrice O’Neal on Chappelle Show...”White ass teeth! .. Nigga got dolphin teeth..”
Codrin Vechiu dude, we know that, it’s just fun to kid on.
Danny Dinglehoff fucking brilliant! Bahahaha
Joe -- "You should give seminars on how to be a savage" lmao so good
what joe is not able to understand about this phenomena is the level of support and love from the husband
