What cracks me up is that people can eat fast food and drink alcohol daily and no one says a thing to you ( well most people won’t say anything I should say) but if you fast/ cut alcohol out and or do keto/carnivore.. people become concerned 🧐
I know it's crazy. I put on over 6 stone and no one says a peep. But whenever I go on a low carb diet, everyone starts commenting about how dangerous it is! It's not just mad, but very dangerous.
People have very strong reactions when their concept of reality is threatened, especially when they have not given any thought to the new proposal. The reason is simple: your striking at the foundation and lower levels of everything their life is built upon. If you are correct this means their habits must be altered significantly.
I’m no expert also but have suffered from autoimmune disease for 7 years. I have a background in biology and enjoy researching anything. Dove for months into the literature and after seeing 10 doctors in different countries, all of them telling me I was idiopathic, meaning will never find the reason for my autoimmune condition, decided to embark on my own journey to heal. Learned everything there is to learn about leaky gut and paleo diet, molecular decomposition, digestion, etc. After two years of strict paleo and leaky gut treatment, I healed myself. I realized that evolutionary speaking we have not evolved at all in terms of our physiology, for thousands of years we survived on a carnivore and wild plants. Dropped carbs, sugar and alcohol, just meats, dark greens, and gallons of green tea, it worked for me, it’s doable. Best wishes to anyone trying to tackle health issues.
I know this is an old video but I'm also 70 and I lost 18 pounds in one month on Carnivore. I started it for a painful autoimmune I have. Bless the people who are better at this new way of eating. Hoping for my results...
Well I would think that he just doesn't want people to blindly follow the diet cuz "Peterson said so". Which honestly would happen if he didn't clarify he is not an expert and that nutrition is probably different for everyone.
@@jiwoos19 I don't know, he says a lot of times that this is his personal experience and also explains why he took on that diet. If someone were to consider actually follow that diet because of that, I think they haven't been listening to him in the first place
@@franacha No I actually misspoke by simply just saying "Peterson said so", my bad. To state it more clearly, people would blindly follow it not because Peterson said to follow it, but because Peterson spoke so highly about the diet. Peterson's image is to be intellectually adept and trustworthy because his statements are often based on scientific studies and factual data, so people are compelled to follow such a diet Peterson says has all these amazing benefits. So Peterson had to clarify that he is not an expert on nutrition and that he does not understand how the positive effects of the diet came about because he wanted to speak about this diet with interesting, amazing benefits he and his family experienced, not to teach or preach, but to share a story.
It just says something about his character I think. He knows what he's knowledgeable in, and he knows when he's just speaking as an uninformed citizen.
I’ve been on the Carnivore diet (only eat fatty meats, bacon, eggs, cheese and butter) for 1 month: I’ve lost 8 pounds, blood glucose went from fasting pre-diabetic to normal fasting blood sugars, sleep much better and sounder, wake up positive and energetic, urinate and BM much less, positive moods, no anxiety or worry, inflammation in leg, arm and heel gone, body and face thinner, skin itchiness (from carbs) gone. It has been amazing. I’m on this for life. I’m age 62.
I just want to say I started this diet almost 2 weeks ago. My friend basically forced me to do it with him and I really didn't want to but I wanted to lose weight, since I gained like 15-20 lbs in the last year or 2. I feel absolutely incredible. Everything he is saying is what I was feeling before. I would sleep for 12+ hours a night then wake up (it would take me a long long time to get out of bed and my body felt heavy, like there were weights all over me) then i couldn't stay awake for more than a few hours before I'd need a nap. I've thought I've had MS for about a year yet, but was never diagnosed bc I honestly couldn't make an appt bc sometimes I wouldnt ever see the light of day and docs close at 5pm. I'm finally going to a doctor this week. But damn! I feel like a new person. I was constantly in pain- body/muscle aches. I just thought it was normal or the result of having F cup breasts. I don't have those pains anymore. And this all started after about 3 days on the diet. Several people have said my skin is glowing. People were always telling me I was just depressed or lazy. Again its only been about 2 weeks on this carnivore diet and I'm just mind blown. I'm very curious to see what happens. I love bread and pasta so much but I'm too scared to eat it now. I never want to go back to how I was feeling. I'll provide updates if anyone cares. I highly highly recommend anyone with autoimmune disorders or depression or whatever to just try it. just try it.
I started September 1st, today was the first day I noticed a difference. Increased energy levels and more importantly sustained energy levels all day. I worked 12 hours and only am just feeling sleepy but not tired. You said you felt *heavy* before and that’s exactly right. I feel light and clear minded. Please provide updates for your progress!
You really shouldn't be recommending people to self-treat serious disorders with an unproven and potentially dangerous diet. Jordan Peterson always makes a point of stressing that he does not recommend anyone to follow this diet. You're giving dangerous advice that could potentially hurt people.
You in week 4 now, how’s it going I’m about to start it in the next day or two just getting everything I need first, I’m on 13 tablets a day for depression anxiety and my worst is the pains in my joints, it was only 3 days ago my doctor wanted me admitted to a hospital because I’ve been losing my mind so much, this all started 7 years ago when I got hit by a 25 foot wave I used to train 6 or 7 days a week always been healthy all I want is my old self back, it got to the stage I couldn’t work so I’m now on a disability support pension living in a van because I just can’t afford the bills anymore I’ll report back in 2 or 3 weeks I’ll save this video keep you posted I’m even thinking of actually filming myself for just a few minutes a day telling how it’s going thanks for you information cheers hope your going strong & well

My grandmother was a ginger and developed skin cancer in her 60’s. She had many skin grafts to her face and lost all her hair permanently. After doing chemo and it not helping much but making her feel more sick, she decided to switch her diet to just brown rice and chicken and she immediately felt better. At her next check up her cancer was suddenly in remission. She kept up her diet for 10+ yrs and her cancer was not only cured but never came back. She lived to her 90th birthday when she passed away in her sleep a few days after her party.
Joe, I'm 31 years old, extremely over weight (6" 393 LB) however I was, 4 months ago, 500 lbs. Yes, you read that correctly. only thing change is my diet. Carnivore has saved my life. so many health issues, reversed. Being diabetic and high blood pressure is the main two. It still blows my mind and I still don't understand it. However, according to my health chart, I'm at my best, health wise, more than I've ever been. Thank you, brother
Carnivore diet didn't make you lose weight. Eating less calories did. And you can eat less calories on a SUSTAINABLE, VARIED diet too. That is much better for you and in the long run much better for your weight because it is actually sustainable. If you didn't have the self-discipline to limit you caloric intake before you certainly won't have the self-discipline to keep this diet up year after year after year. This is why diets come and go while people stay fat. They lose some weight initially but eventually the diet becomes too hard to sustain and the pounds come back. If you just want to lose weight a radical elimination diet like this is not the way to go. These diets are really only for people with extreme food intolerances. And even then only temporary, the goal is always to return to a varied, sustainable diet by slowly reintroducing foods. I would advice you to go see a nutritionist to help you create a sustainable diet if you're serious about losing weight and sustaining a healthy weight over the long run.
@@duxd1452you don’t have to limit Yourself when you do carnivore. You just eat until you’re full. As time goes you naturally eat less because the food keeps you feeling fuller for longer. So it’s not really comparable.
What absolutely astounds me about this clip is how much JP has accomplished while feeling like crap all the time and dealing with clinical depression. I feel like such a loser, there's just no excuse.
nah don't feel like a loser, he's had a different upbringing and environment that has formed him that way to be able to be so strong even though depression came around. You just need to find the right motivators for you and try to build that environmental support around you and that would help tremendously

Day 3/4 felt AMAZING. I’m 42 5’10”. Four days ago weighed in consistently 203-205. Heaviest ever after rough divorce. Four days later, two days in a row, down 8 pounds. Working out with more energy than in years. Just woke up and found my inner goggins to hit a 1 am run. I’m going to hit 170 lbs and find my hs weight plus some muscle (stathom weight/height), but the real reason I’m doing this is to move on from depression, aches, and some recently developed hives. So far moods already through the roof. Thanks JP and other dietary health specialists that have given this a chance/look.
Keep going mate, sorry to hear about the divorce that can send any man either crazy or into bad habits stay strong report back. I love to hear how your going in a few weeks I’m staring this week as well
I went through 90 days of darkest depression ever. After a month of carnivore my outlook was totally changed. I have my abs visibly back like in hs now! I’m going to bulk up from here so I’ve introduced limited carbs back to my diet. I noticed that my skin was much more healthy. I had developed hives this last year probably from stress. It’s gone. I also found that I could tolerate dairy (protein shakes) for the first time in decades. This worked wonders for me physically and mentally. It was hard to keep up because of social constraints like eating out with others at times. Steak and water gets you some looks from waiters sometimes. Lol

The facts he described dealing with depression (is like losing your loved ones) suggests how much empathy he truly has. Narcissistic (and many other PD) people cannot feel that way. Same. I got rid of all caffeine, alcohol, smoking, and very rarely eat junk. I eat mostly meat, some herbs, and some root veggies. I drink some fruit juices, and will eat a little fresh fruit. I barely eat bread, it makes me feel bad so I try to avoid it. And no cereals. I feel much better. No panic attacks, no depression. My blood tests came back great. Doctor was happy 😊
@@MulletMan3108 I used to believe that too, but check out That Sugar Film. The protagonist of the documentary doesn't change his calories, only eats more sugar, and gets fat. Also, people who inject insulin can develop a subcutaneous lump of fat in the injection spot called lipohypertrophy. Also, people don't overeat naturally: the overabundance of food isn't enough to explain the obesity epidemic. There may be more to a healthy diet than calories in vs calories out.
"Depression feels like everyone you know died in accident yesterday" That is the first real comprehensive definition I know of. Everything feels irrelevant because a tragedy has happened. You could win the lottery, you could become a movie star, and not a damn thing would change in this instance.
Jordan’s daughter also in addition to the death grief part said, ‘the feeling of impending doom (like you are watching a bus about to hit you and or a loved one), and like you are about to get into HUGE trouble for something ( like caught stealing ). I tried Keto over three years ago. I woke up one morning cleaned out my pantry and frig. I was very strict and didn’t cheat, four months later, I lost 83 pounds. Yes, four months. Here's a funny aside: I pulled out "The Joy of Cooking," written in 1935, to get ready for the turkey stuffing like I do every year. I happened to see a page upfront of dietary realities and advice. Included are observations like this: - Americans eat wayyyy too many carbs. Bad for everyone but Athletes and Children. - Since 1900, Americans have increased sugar consumption 25%, and that's bad. - The newly emerging "pre-processed foods" coming into our houses are very bad for you. That's in 1935...
Amazing! It sounds like historical data and common knowledge on diet have been deeply covered up even more than what we discovered with the exposing of Dr. John Yudkin's story, and the fat vs. sugar scandal of 1977. On a note related to that, I've always found it such a tragic irony that many vegans are very anti-fat and pro-sugar when this is leftover propaganda from the sugar business giants. Vegans are often very critical of industrial food propaganda when it comes to meat and animal products, but many of them seem to be willfully ignorant to information about sugar, grains, carbs, and soy. I have a hunch that acknowledging this info would make it a lot harder to be a healthy vegan, so they choose to stay blind.
I just started on the carnivore diet 3 days ago and today I noticed a big change. I work at a restaurant which can get very busy and tonight was the 15th anniversary for the restaurant being open so there was a DJ and multiple birthdays being celebrated. It was very loud inside! We were slightly understaffed on the floor so I had a lot of tables. These last few months have been hard for me. I’ve experienced many of the same symptoms Dr. Peterson was having, from having a hard time waking up, to extreme depression, poor memory and just always foggy. But this evening, I’ve felt better than I have in a LONG time. My head was clear, my pulse was steady, and my mood was jovial in spite of the stress I was under at work and my decision making was sharp. Feeling really motivated now to keep this up. I’m quite certain that the main cause for my mental disfunction has been poor diet. To be more specific, EATING PROCESSED FOODS. So many poisonous ingredients in our food here in the US. We must eliminate these processed foods from our daily lives so we can live happier. I’m no expert, but I believe this is viable solution. It’s funny, I’m lying in bed and I’m actually looking forward to waking up tomorrow.
Hey Trent, I am still sticking with it, although I will admit I have caved to a few temptations here and there (in the form of a few donuts lol). It’s really tremendous when you’re working on the job. My energy is super consistent as is my mood. I’m not moody, generally speaking, at all anymore. No more sugar buzz and crashes. The meals you eat last you much longer throughout the day, so you’re not as hungry (The focus being you eat until you’re completely satiated). This removes the desire to snack. My weight has stabilized, after losing a few pounds, whilst at the same time I’m adding muscle since the diet is so high in protein. Going for a run is a completely new experience. I have almost no muscle fatigue after 2 miles whereas before I would struggle just to keep pace and not walk. I’m sleeping way better than before. My dreams are honestly much more powerful now when they occur. I’m even lucid dreaming a bit too. It’s really incredible the changes that I’m experiencing, subtle though they may be. How’s it going for you. Have you started? Or you thinking about starting?
That amazing I’m happy for you, what are your thoughts on frozen chicken sausages, I find them delicious but probably not the healthiest meat on this diet
@@AS-gh1ge Thank you for your kind words. I’m not an expert so this is certainly a subjective opinion, but I believe that as long as your sausages contain your desired macros in terms of fat and protein, I’d say keep eating them. Again just my opinion

Dorin Ciobanu Yeah it's good, so long as you listen to what it means. People tend to switch off their critical mind when they trust a source. Appeals to honesty like "I don't know much about this but..." or "I'm not a scientist but..." create a sense of transparency and relatability so can paradoxically make you more accepting of what the speaker says. Notice that politicians use those disclaimers all the time; they know it lets them make things up without being called out as liers later.

12345nadine I'm interested to know what things you've you've heard him be wrong about? I heard him say some completely wrong things about genetics and neuroscience once: he claimed that whenever you experience something new it 'unlocks' new genes within you, which is utterly false.
@@TheRABIDdude thats actually true btw, about genetics. It's kind of like how you can be predisposed to a certain mental illness, and if you're around a tough social environment for long enough, it can make it manifest. But he's completely wrong about gender differences for example. There are differences, sure, but we have no way of telling whether they're nature or nurture unless we grow a man and a woman in a lab, treat them exactly the same, then monitor their behavior. Men and women have been rewarded and punished for different things for centuries, we really can't draw a conclusion about what they're like without it. Like in this video he talked about how important it is to remove all confounding variables in studies when he was talking about whether meat was bad for your health, but he doesn't seem to apply that same logic to this. And I think it's cause he's emotionally invested in poeticizing gender in a yin and yang kind of way, but it's not based on any real science. He also seems to be a biological essentialist, meaning he links how people behaviorally turn out directly to biology, and he ends up denying societal pressures as an important factor that can sometimes override biology. So like, he's said before that based on how much a person bounces from idea to idea, you can predict whether they're going to turn out to be conservative or liberal. That's partly true, but he doesn't seem to acknowledge that there are strong societal pressures that push people towards conservatism (or liberalism) using fear tactics, regardless of how that person actually thinks. He seems to want to believe so much that biology dictates everything, and individual power can overtake anything, that he seems to be denying that that are societal structures in place that push people towards certain beliefs, behaviors, ways of living etc just as much, if not more, than biology does, and sometimes the individual by themselves can't override them. Unless they speak up about it. Which he then often calls SJW-esque, collectivist or narcissistic.
I am so happy to hear mr. Peterson talked about this subject. I asked several allergist if this was true and they both said "oh, yes and pay attention if you feel that!" Went on chicken and broccoli diet after watching this video end of last year. Week by week my symptoms started slowly disappearing, can’t tell you how grateful I am for this video

As old man of 83 and from the UK, I can remember the second world war events. When everybody was on 'rations' because food was so short. The interesting thing was, hardly anybody was fat or over weight. The obesity problem raised its ugly face, when we went from fresh foods to factory made foods, that contained far to much sugar and salt and god knows what else. People now know, that these foods cause problems but listening to Jordan, it seems there is far more about food that we don't know. He says he's not an expert, but he is in his own situation- no dietician would have recommended his diet. Its what his daughter found out after years of experimentation and now he follows a similar diet. How interesting, it goes against all the rules but its good for him and his family. He does look better, so good luck with that Jordan
Thank you for sharing that John Christmas! I use to eat that way but the doctors kept pushing me to eat more carbs, fruit, and veggies and I gained weight. I learned foods with preservatives are even worse for my body and mind and my daughters especially with Lyme Disease so I cut those out and went back to clean eating. It has helped but Canivare will probably be the best for us. Type 2 diabetic so I have to be careful and she is insulin resistant. I have to be very careful with keystones my Dr said to go into it slowly. So far so good though I am excited to go full Canivare and hopefully we both feel amazing and gain our energy back.
The food industry covers up most of its shenanigans!!! High fructose corn syrup is worse than sugar and does more damage....read labels!! Have a blessed day....
@@michelepace777 People were healthier during the war, despite huge restrictions in diet. apart from lead poisoning, of course. The obvious benefit of carnivore is that it IS an extreme elimination diet. The downsides are that it goes against everything we really know about nutrition. Meat was a precious resource for hunter gatherers, but the evidence is that they survived more on nuts and berries and roots. Modern diets are simply toxic. Toxic oils. Toxic chemicals. Toxic sugars. Toxic culture around food too. I'm a skinny dude. I fast. I exercise. (a bit less since my poor old dog died) and turns out I'm prediabetic. Why? Well, I eat crap, that's why. Joe is just the best interviewer. He stops Jordan and asks him to define depression. Joe knows what depression is and so does Jordan of course but there are different levels and nuances. Most interviewers would feel ashamed to ask this question. Joe realizes it is important to settle what we are actually talking about and the severity involved.
I have been on this diet for 3 weeks and I have lost 15lbs. I’m happier than I’ve been in a long time. It’s a struggle because I love sweets but it’s been worth it.
I am a 73-year-old retired school and clinical psychologist. In January of 2019 I viewed this Joe Rogan program. I now have followed the carnivore diet for eight months with the following results: loss of 32 pounds; no longer pre-diabetic; resolved sleep apnea; resolved GERD; and completely resolved psoriasis.
Thomas Kowalski congrats that’s awesome. Have you checked your lipid profile? That’s my only concern as a person with cholesterol issues. Also, do you only eat beef?
My HDL cholesterol, glucose, triglyceride, HbA1c, and ketone blood test results are good. LDL cholesterol and Total cholesterol are high. I eat beef, pork, lamb, bison, calf’s li ver, fish, shrimp, eggs, cheese, butter, tallow, greens, pickles, tomatoes, onions, and berries. I flip between a carnivore and ketogenic diet.
@@nomdeplume4543 Just to possibly alleviate some concerns (in case you didn't already know), high LDL by itself is not a marker for risk of heart disease. As long as your Triglyceride/HDL ratio is good, that's a better indicator. Additionally, you can order a more thorough lipid test, a NMR LipoProfile, to find out your LDL-P, which is more important than LDL-C (what's measured in a typical blood work) when determining risk of heart disease. If your LDL is Pattern A, then nothing to worry about. If it's Pattern B, then that's concerning. If you were *really* concerned, you can also get a Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) scan to determine if there's any arterial calcification, which is a very good indicator of heart attack risk. The NMR LipoProfile and CAC scan will determine with higher certainty your risk of a heart attack than conventional blood work which only tests for LDL-C. For more information, you should check out Dave Feldman's work at cholesterolcode.com
Jordan is right, this is real. I always had severe inflammation in my joints and muscles, and my muscles were all tight to the point where it hurt to stretch and I couldnt even touch my toes. I switched to a clean diet without any preservatives and my recovery speed is faster, im more flexible, and I feel like a weight was lifted off of me. I feel like a new person thats way better than my old self, all from switching my diet to mainly chicken, and sometimes have some fresh fruits and vegetables with it. Processed foods are full of poison. The poisons mess with peoples hormones, they causes cancer, they cause inflammation, and they cause degeneration of neural pathways. Grow your own food and live off of it for a month and you wont ever want to go back to anything processed. Buy from local farmers/butchers if possible that dont use pesticides, or antibiotics. use stainless steel cookware that isnt coated in poison. avoid microwaving or putting hot food on anything made of plastic.
So many people in the comments just don't get it. He never once said this diet was "healthy" or recommended, all he said was it stopped him and his daughter living in constant, extreme physical and mental pain, and thats why he continues doing it. I don't think him or his daughter care if their likelihood of cancer increases or whatever if it means they don't suffer severe depression, anxiety or autoimmune diseases
For a man of his influence it is still irresponsible no matter how many disclaimers he puts iut before saying it has done miraces for him. With a man the internet considers like the best intellectual today for some reason can't understand the simple fact that there are short term effects and long term consequences to this?
It's not irresponsible at all, if people are too stupid to not listen to his disclaimers its on them not him. He's stating his experiences with this diet... that's it...
Joe Hansen there are folks that have been eating only meat and no vegetables for over 50 years... The Andersen family has been eating strictly carnivore for 20 years and is extremely healthy, even thier kids. Beef has the most nutrients of nearly any other food and way more than vegetables or fruit.
There is literally zero clinical evidence that meat causes cancer. The US is currently suing the IARC for deceptive practices. RThey basically cooked the books. Read "The Big Fat Surprise" to find out more.
Timothy Black Well, that’s not entirely true. I’m not saying that meat causes cancer however, if you don’t consume any fiber it can lead to problems in the colon and colon cancer. I would bet that these people would not have issues with greens if they grew them themselves. Our foods are loaded with “RoundUp”. Very toxic. Even meats contain this if the animal consumes foods that are treated with RoundUp. It’s a sad state of affairs when our government refuses to ban a chemical that’s killing its citizens.
I've been struggling with my weight ever since I hit 30, throughout my teenage years and 20s I was always lean. I played sports as a teenager, I remember having an enormous appetite especially around 15 years old but I'd always be in shape, underweight if anything. My weight was always hovering around 70kgs in my 20s and I would have been slightly less as a teenager. I'm 5'3 with broad shoulders, and generally had lean muscle as a teenager. In my 20s I maintained this with occasional weight gain every now and again which was easily reversed within a few weeks. When I hit 27-28, I was pushing hard in the gym and bulked up a fair bit. I then got into bad habits of stopping going to the gym, drinking way too much alcohol and only eating take aways and junk food. I started gaining weight from then on. Every time I tried to revert to losing that weight it just wasn't going away. I cut back on alcohol a bit as it was starting to become a bit of a problem, but would still drink at weekends and eat crap. Then I checked my weight at Xmas - up to 84kgs, my lipids were all off, ldl and TGs were sky high, vit d in its boots and I had developed diabetes. Been on metformin and ozempic the last month. I saw this video and thought I'll give it a try, tried keto 3 years ago but failed. Initially I was getting cravings for sugar and headaches which subsided over a few days. When I get hungry now, I eat steak, eggs or both, and cheese and ham for lunch. I've had some prawns, lamb chops and lamb and beef mince as well. I have noticed weight loss, but thought there's still a way to go. Checked the scales today - lost 8kgs in 2 weeks. I cannot believe it. This diet obviously works. It may just be water weight and I'll see if it continues to go down. My aim is to maintain at 70kgs, I'm 75kgs right now. I would urge anyone struggling with weight loss to give it a try.
This is fascinating. Many of the anecdotal evidence you provided I have seen myself on the Keto diet. My teeth for instance, they stopped being "fuzzy" in the morning and at night. Obviously the Inuit were carnivores through the winter months and into the early spring. Surviving on seal blubber, which I have read contains as much vitamin C as citrus fruit. It's all very interesting. I am going to do it. Here's to hanging by my finger nails for a month, LOL

In that time I have lost 28kg my diabetes is no longer a problem my arthritis and severe joint pain has gone. As well as many other medical conditions. Could not recommend it highly enough!
2 things I love that he said : 1. His Prefaced his journey by saying I am not a dietary specialist this is just what worked for me. 2. “ A month? I can by my nails from a windowsill for a month” - this is an excellent mindset to have about having an open mind to trying something new you may be skeptical of.
The thing about food, someone cannot fathom how bad they feel unless they reach a more optimal state. If you've always felt bad then bad is your normal, and you might even think it's good. It's not until you truly reach a more optimal state that you see that you've actually been functioning in a bad state. And the difference between bad and optimal is incredible. When you get a taste of your body operating as it should, life is a totally different place, that you didn't know existed.
It's the same with being obese and losing weight. I always tell people yea looking better is cool but what will amaze you is how you feel. How everything just becomes easy. Walking without getting tired, bending over to pick something up without getting out of breath, Walking up stairs with ease, not breathing hard when eating or talking, etc. Everytime you notice one of those little things you're just like "wow!".
Also goes the other way. I was very healthy until around 18 and now every day feels like hell. Constant regret and just wishing I could go back to that.
U hit the nail on the head with optimal state vs bad state. Sometimes u gotta get outside the lines and find what works for you instead of listening to the masses.
Having started low carbs, I can relate to my mental clarity. I can also relate to the alertness as soon as waking up as well. My depression is fleeting as well.

Because of this video I went on the Carnivore diet about seven weeks ago. I'm a type 2 diabetic and my A1C went from 8.9 to 6.2 and my blood sugars have never been better! My brother has been a vegan for about four years now and his blood sugars are still out of control. When I told him what happened to me, now he wants to know more about the Carnivore diet, so I sent him this video.
I truly love Jordan Peterson. Huge fan. I'm now on this diet and it's been helping me to combat depression, weight, anxiety, migraines, chronic pain and multiple auto-immune diseases. My skin has also cleared up.
This video was a turning point in my life. For 7 years I suffered from the crippling fatigue and cronique anemia , and bunch of others symptoms till the point where I couldnt walk. And I had this video in my suggestions for a long time since I like to listen to Jordan Peterson. But I always ignored it thinking that he talks about how he lost weight. Once I watched it, it just cliked in my head, because every time I would eat a slice of braed my stomach would be bloated and I didnt pay much attention to it. After this video, I stopped eating glutten, and after 3 days my fatigue started fading, my back stopped hurting, some skin problems I had dissapeared, urinary infections disapeared. After that I had to cut more and more stuff, and Im stil int the process of healing but Im doing much better comparing to before when I couldnt walk. Thank you Joe and mister Peterson for opening this subject.
@@GeraltOfRivia99Hi So later on when I told my doctor about the bloating, she sent my stool example to a laboratory where they found out I have a gut dysbiosis, meaning I have to much bad bacteria and not enough of good bacteria in my gut. And the bad bacteria feeds of from iron and vitamins. And gut dysbiosis will mean your gut is inflamed and that bad bacteria are destroying your gut wall, so the toxins can enter your blood and reach the brain. That's why I was suffering from the brain fog and deconcentration. So now I'm on a very strict diet, trying to repopulate the gut with the good bacteria by eating a lot of fermented salads, and kefirs. Also a lot of bone broth since it contains collagen necessary for reparing the gut wall. I'm doing better, but I'm still not healed. It will be a long process. But I'm happy I finally know what was wrong with me So, comparing to before when I had very low levels of vitamin d, b12 and iron, they are now on almost ideal levels. I am functioning much better now.
@@sabinahadzipasicbesic6613 thanks alot for the update. ive always suspected i had gut issues because for the past few years ive been struggling. same as if i eat bread my stomach bloats like crazy. so that would make sense if you had SIBO or to much bad bacteria. diet is so tricky to stick to at first but it looks like its really the first thing we should be doing....tough bullet to bite but atleast ive already started eating better. good luck!
@@GeraltOfRivia99 yes diet is hard, but it's not like we have a choice either. For me it's impossible to go back to the old eating habits, symptoms would be too awful. I do cheat here and there but in general I stick to the diet because it's the only way I can function
@@GeraltOfRivia99 As they suggest, it often takes quite a bit of time to both realize, and eliminate the effects of things in your diet. Regarding bloating, though: be aware that your gut biome depends heavily on what you're eating. Different bacteria eat different things, and so the ones you'll have the most of, are the ones you feed, regularly. So if you suddenly introduce cake, and you haven't been eating cake, you'll get a bit bloated, because you don't have a lot of the bacteria that can digest that, easily. Instead you'll get less helpful bacteria dealing with it, which produce more gas that bloats you. In other words, not all bloating or gastro-intestinal distress is from something that's bad for you. That said, certain things are just not particularly healhty for you; sugar and white flower are among them.

Learned everything there is to learn about leaky gut and paleo diet, molecular decomposition, digestion, etc. After two years of strict paleo and leaky gut treatment, I healed myself.

Carnivore has saved my life. so many health issues, reversed. Being diabetic and high blood pressure is the main two. It still blows my mind and I still don't understand it. However, according to my health chart, I'm at my best, health wise, more than I've ever been. Thank you, brother

Thank you guys. Im going to try this!

Thanks JP and other dietary health specialists that have given this a chance/look.
keep on it Red!!!!
Were you suffering from depression before?
Lol
@@redledbetter1wow… that’s great! So do you eat steak for breakfast lunch and dinner every day? I can’t imagine having meat for breakfast. Too heavy for me.. also can it be regular meat? Or beef steak? What about chicken steak? Anyway steaks are too expensive to eat them everyday 😢
The facts he described dealing with depression (is like losing your loved ones) suggests how much empathy he truly has. Narcissistic (and many other PD) people cannot feel that way. Their depression is totally different and, as I understand it, it’s only wired to for example narcissistic injuries or possibly narcissistic mortification.

I cut out alcohol, weed, caffeine, junk food, and even medications, started eating natural foods and mostly meats, my depression and anxiety, and even a good percentage of my chronic pain went away.
Same. I got rid of all caffeine, alcohol, smoking, and very rarely eat junk. I eat mostly meat, some herbs, and some root veggies. I drink some fruit juices, and will eat a little fresh fruit. I pulled out "The Joy of Cooking," written in 1935, to get ready for the turkey stuffing like I do every year.
I happened to see a page upfront of dietary realities and advice. Included are observations like this:
- Americans eat wayyyy too many carbs. Bad for everyone but Athletes and Children.
- Since 1900, Americans have increased sugar consumption 25%, and that's bad.
- The newly emerging "pre-processed foods" coming into our houses are very bad for you.
That's in 1935...
If you have some time please digitalize it, and make a PDF!
Yes please! I second that!
Please do! It could garner a lot of attention

Carnivore for 4 years and thriving at 63 . Reversed my type II diabetes, high blood pressure and arthritis 💪.
How are you going!?? Did you stick with it!??
Hey Trent,
I am still sticking with it, although I will admit I have caved to a few temptations here and there (in the form of a few donuts lol).
" It’s funny, I’m lying in bed and I’m actually looking forward to waking up tomorrow." My goodness. That resonates with me. Thank you for saying it.

Yes even Roosevelt said that if he was right 75% of the time we would reach the peak of his limits.
to be fair, he's wrong about alot of other things he says he's an expert in. He believes what he's saying though, which is relaxing. a lot of people are just fake.

I asked several allergist if this was true and they both said "oh, yes and pay attention if you feel that!" I do not work out at all. omg I am Loving this.I'm a believer!! I'm sticking with it. I cannot wait to see what happens next month. This is GOLD!
@@michelepace777 so you’re saying you felt worse eating fruits, vegetables and whole grains??

Thanks for sharing! Must be a good feeling losing all that weight

I'm also keen to know about your lipid status. Please give us an update!
Thank you!

Buy from local farmers/butchers if possible that dont use pesticides, or antibiotics. use stainless steel cookware that isnt coated in poison. avoid microwaving or putting hot food on anything made of plastic.
very true.
That interview was beyond awesome!

2 things I love that he said :
1. His Prefaced his journey by saying I am not a dietary specialist this is just what worked for me.

What's his daughters blog?

Can u update ?
@@GeraltOfRivia99Hi
So later on when I told my doctor about the bloating, she sent my stool example to a laboratory where they found out I have a gut dysbiosis, meaning I have to much bad bacteria and not enough of good bacteria in my gut.
But I'm happy I finally know what was wrong with me
So, comparing to before when I had very low levels of vitamin d, b12 and iron, they are now on almost ideal levels.
