I went in super sceptical, not being a fan of hers (only because I'm not into country music) but this left me speechless and as an Eminem fan I think this is her song now lol. She lived every word and note, taking us with her. I was in tears by the end. I'm so glad this is getting the attention it deserves globally. Her and her father just playing around during lockdown and genius happened lol

Eminem brought the lyrics but Kasey brought the emotion and soul. Best cover ever. She ripped it up. It made me appreciate the lyrics even more.
The transition period ..... the change up .... from banjo/guitar to full band introduction was fantastic ---- it was like Led Zeppelin & Cream just came in & said 'we got this' ---- testament to great musicians & long time players.
This has got to be the best cover of all time. She is a Bluegrass/Country singer in Australia. She took a 20 year old rap song, tore it to shreds, & made it her motherfucking own!!! The anguish in this performance is on another level! After touring with her family for about 2 decades, she went solo. Her debut album was critically acclaimed, yet radio staions wouldn't play her songs so her early career mirrored Eminem's, which is why she chose this song. Her song, Am I Not Pretty Enough was her big fuck you to the radio stations. Ironically, it became her first hit, played on every radio station in the country. Youngest woman to be inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame. Now you understand why she feels this song?
Kasey sprung it on the audience. After the response she got, she asked the audience members to send her the footage, that she compiled into this video. Eminem has heard it & granted her permission to add it to her Spotify
💯 I’ve binge watched over 50 reactions so far & counting, this is a Phenomenal performance, arrangement & pure interpretation - legendary & Em gave Kasey permission to release on Spotify, that says it all 👏👏👏 She is aged 46 at the time of this performance, Geez - what a freakin amazing & talented musician, artist & woman she is. The band were on fire & in synch with her energy to perfection, with her brother Nash on guitar & subtle sublime backing vocals & her Dad on the slide guitar, and dude on the keyboard “losing it” - Mind totally blown, best live “cover” ever for me ❤️
That wasn't her brother Nash on guitar and backing vocals. It was Brandon Dodd who has been in her band for around the last 8 years.

Been a fan of Kasey's for over 25 years. She rarely records covers as she is such a good songwriter, but privately, she loves to play all of her hero's music like Gram Parsons, Hank Williams and Fred Eaglesmith also (including Eminem). Kasey is in the Australian Music Hall Of Fame and catching a live concert isn't just going to a show, it's a religious experience. Always gives 100% and never disappoints.
Ain't No Little Girl, Rattlin Bones, Pony and Barricades and Brickwalls are just a few of her songs but they are all sensational and each album is a different sound.

Emotion in music is there by the bucket, and is what is missing in most of todays 'arists'.

Casey is a Hall of Fame artist with at least 33 major awards! Mostly country/folk. For her to do this and bring people to tears is a credit to her amazing ability and of course her team and Cudos to the lyrics by Eminem

One of Kasey's own songs that l think you might enjoy is Ain't No Little Girl ; a couple others are Not Pretty Enough, and The Captain.
Kasey Chamber's voice/style reminds me of a cross between Ani Difranco and Alanis Morissette a bit here. Ani's style of vocal storytelling in the first part, Alanis with the more aggressive vocals in the second part. Pretty cool - I'm not a fan of Kasey's music normally; it's kind of a shame she doesn't do more in this style, because it really showcases her vocal talent.
Casey has a better understanding of American music than prob. 99% of Americans and guess what - all kinds her brother Nash is a great guitarist and producer and her dad ,who plays lap slide here is just revered. The whole family grew living and breathing this shit
