5 minutes in and you're already stunned. I'm sitting back smiling, thinking, "Just you wait. She's just warming up". 😂 Yes he saw. Yes he liked it. He allowed her to put it on Spotify.

Do you have a citation for that? No one has yet been able to provide evidence that he has actually heard it (no, being on Spotify is not verifiable evidence) . Em is not the rights holder of that song, so he can't personally 'give permission'. This appears to be nothing more than a YT urban legend. Even Kasey herself has said in an interview that she didn't know if Em has heard it or not.

    • @Amanda-uc5jq
      @Amanda-uc5jq 2 месяца назад

As above, no proof and Spotify are currently being sued by a lot of artists because they breach copyright.
I don’t think Em even owns the rights to his old music anymore, I could be wrong but I’m fairly certain he doesn’t.

an urban myth sadly, MM doesn't own the rights to the song, and anyone that pays the license fee can release a cover commercially

I really did enjoy your reaction to this performance. I am not a lover of reactions where there are lots of pauses. Have to give a shout-out to the Keyboard player's peformance and would be wrong of me not to mention her Dad, Bill shredding it on lap/steel guitar left of the picture. Thanks for about the 100+ time I have watched this performance. My all-time Favourite Kasey USED to be "Rattlin Bones'' but I'm afraid it has to step down after this one, Thanks for the great reaction mate...By the way she was playing a "Banjo".

The rumour is that Eminem has seen and liked it, but there is no proof. He's never come out and said it.
Kasey's been in the industry for years, but here in Australia, where she's one of the most popular Country/Folk/Blues artists. She occasionally comes out of her area and does covers like this. Glad you've found her.

100%… Eminem has still not publicly reacted to Kasey’s awesome reinvention of his song, even 2 years later…all despite his record company giving Kasey the go ahead to record her version. Guess he approves but really sad that he has not come out and said so even though we’ve asked! 😢 Well….too bad… Lose Yourself is our Kasey’s now! 😂❤

Hi, thanks for your great reaction. Kasey's voice and body are full of emotion as she connects with Eminem's amazing lyrics in this song. It's worth watching it all again to see just how immersed she becomes in it. I'd really recommend you watch Kasey with her own compositions too. Try "Ain't No Little Girl" (Live - Bluegrass Underground PBS version), "Pony" (studio version), and as someone else recommended "We're all Gonna Die Someday".

I only knew the angry version of Eminem and for me it was like a 'punch in the face' lol but Kasey really takes it apart and tells his story with the sadness and the frustration of his early life....and then pow she lets loose with her own pent up anger and a reflection of her own struggles....Brilliant reaction my friend....I do hope you didn't have your eyes closed all the time lol

Glad you discovered this ,, to add context to the transition to " where the mood all changed" .... look at the voice. The first 2 verses are a narrative described in the third person. ( he, him, his etc). The last verse is the rawness in the first-person experience (I, me, my,) An expression of self. Other fans will explain more about the performance and video, but this point is important and often overlooked. It's testament to the depth of understanding Kasey has to the essence of this story.

@@welderreactor REALLY???? Oh Wow! Ok, well they are an all female METAL band from Canada that started in 1996 when they were young teens, co founded by Drummer Mercedes Lander and her Sister, lead singer Morgan Lander. They released their first debut album ini 1999 called "Spit" (Poppy recently covered the song Spit). "Spit" had a more Nu Metal sound and the first single released was "Brackish" which blew up and Kittie was EVERYWHERE!!! They co headlined the 2nd stage of the Ozzfest festival in 2000. They toured w/ Slipknot and Korn. Their 2nd album was "Oracle" and they went in a more HEAVIER direction AWAY from the "Nu Metal" genre to a more metalcore or groove metal style w/ black metal vocals. Their 3rd album "Until The End" had a radio friendly hit "Into The Darkness" but had some other dark and heavy songs on it like "P*ssy Sugar" and "You Look So Pretty (digging your grave)". Their 4th album "Funeral For Yesterday" was probably their most commercial sounding album (but still great songs) all because of the record company and producer. With the next 2 albums "Into The Black" (2009) and "I've Failed You" (2011) they went heavier again. Unfortunately, that was the LAST album released. They have been on a 13 year hiatus.....BUT..... they just came BACK and came back SWINGING!!! They were signed by Sumerian Records and in 4 days are releasing their 7th studio album in 13 years titled "Fire". They already released 4 videos.:
"Eyes Wide Open" (the HEAVIEST, groove metal w/ black metal style harsh vocals) has over 800k views
"We Are Shadows" (Morgan sings more CLEAN vocals and throws in some harsh vocals) has 700k views
"Vultures" (another heavy one, harsh vocals on the verses and clean vocals in the chorus) over 500k views
"One Foot In The Grave" (anthemic, pop metal sound w/ both clean vocals and some harsh vocals, the most commercial sounding single off the album)
BEFOR Jinjer, BEFORE Arch Enemy and Otep and so many other female Metal artists there was KITTIE and it's SO AWESOME to see them EMBRACED by the Metal scene again!!!!! "Eyes Wide Open" has only been out for 4 months and w/ 800k views it's already heading towards 1M!

      @@welderreactor Fire Reviews:
      Louder Metal Hammer review:
“A supremely assured return from a band who are intent on creating something fresh, new and exciting. This Kittie still has claws.” They gave it 4 out of 5.
      Kerrang! Review:
“Former nu-metal stars Kittie break a lengthy silence with hard-hitting, volume-set-to-kill seventh album…The core of this album is straight relentless metal, sometimes melodic but mostly powering through with sinew and vim….While its not an album that’s doing anything new or shocking, Fire does put Kittie back on the metal map, and reminds us that there’s more to them than they first got credit for.” They gave it 3 out of 5.
      Metal Insider review:
“Fire is a triumphant return for the Lander sisters and longtime guitarist Tara McLeod and bassist Ivy Jenkins….This is a band re-ignited, refreshed, and fully resurrected. Fire is a near-perfect record, not only for the old-school fans who’ve waited over a decade for this but for a younger, hungrier generation of metalheads. Despite the state of metal in 2024, Kittie doesn’t buck to any trend- this record is simultaneously heavy, accessible, and uncompromisingly Kittie.”
      Cryptic Rock review:
“What you have with Fire is a foundation of interesting guitar riffs, song structures that do not overwhelm you just for the sake of doing so, and a mix of harsh and clean vocals that get the balance right…Dark and alluring, the band recapture the magic of their unique blend of styles that unify Alternative Rock with Thrash, Gothic and Death Metal…Fire reclaims them their rightful crown! That is why Cryptic Rock applaud their efforts, giving this comeback album 4.5 out of 5 stars.”
