Kasey Chambers is an Australian award winning Country Artist that started her career at age nine with her fathers band and debuted in the late 90’s and has had a successful career ever since. She completely reworked this iconic song with such emotion that really highlighted what a great lyricist Eminem is.

It's all about impact and she did it brilliantly. Soft & slow and all you are thinking is Banjo?? Then a bit of guitar and back up vocals and you're thinking, OK, I'll see where she is going. Then BANG, your underpants are around your head. Stunning
She is a huge Eminem fan and had wanted to cover this for years. It took the Covid Quarantine to give her the time to create this arrangement. I adore this haunting cover. It honors the original- shows how great the writing is - but hits in a different emotional frequency.

Many people have tried to cover this but for me this is the only one that has been successful. She made it her own and just killed it. It highlights how amazing Eminem’s lyrics are. I have both on my playlists.

Being Australian, we pronounce words differently than Americans, so that is why some of the words sounded different than you are use to. Kasey is a respected Country singer over here, but she likes to wander into other Genres occasionally. The day after this concert she went on her page and asked her fans to send her footage that they recorded on their phones during this song. The result is the collage that you have just been watching with this song.
She made it her own.

Kasey loves Em, she took it to another level, with much respect to the lyrics. Another kasey Chambers song that's gutsey yet more country and blues style is "Ain't no little girl" also completely different is "Not pretty enough", thanks for the great reaction

Eminem's rap approach is more reactive, while Kasey's version is more emotive; to take a rap song and rework it, she made it her own. Kasey Chambers is an accomplished Australian country music singer-songwriter, who has won multiple awards and accolades for her 12 studio albums and her singles releases; a song from her 3rd album titled Not Pretty Enough is a commentary on the reluctance of commercial radio stations towards playing her music, even though she was hugely popular and had successful a successful career.
This is a brilliant interpretation of Lose Yourself, and shows again how deep Eminem's lyrics really are
West Aussie / new subscriber here. I've seen Kasey live a few times, but not in at least 15yrs. I'll be there at the very next one in WA though, just to see this live. I've played this a minimum of 3 times every day since I first heard it, im addicted to the feel good energy Kasey put into this performance. Thats Kasey's dad left of stage on the slide guitar, one of her brothers on guitar. The whole family live and breath music, and we love em down here. Loved your reaction, and so happy to see our artists being noticed overseas xx

I am a full on metalhead that got dragged kicking and screaming to a Kasey gig way back in 2004, and to be completely honest I have never headbanged as hard as that gig! They pigeon hole her as Country, but she played everything from blues and R n B to metal and electronica at that show. I was sold instantly, such a brilliant artist with talent to burn, thank you for reacting to our Aussie princess! X

Just a little trivia for you. Her father is on the slide/steel guitar. The family had the "Dead Ringer Band" when Kasey first started out. You should check out more of Kasey with "THe Captain" , "Am I Not Pretty Enough'' and also "Rattlin Bones" which was my all-time Kasey song until I saw this. Great reaction. More Aussie girls to check out would be Kate Cebrano, Vanessa Amorosi, Tina Arena etc etc. Great reaction but just normal for this song... *lol*

Kasey is one of Australia's top Country artists who has never feared letting the world see her heart. If you want to see something from her 'normal' wheelhouse, try 'Aint no little girl'. As with most Australian artists, live performances are usually best.
It sounds good here on YT. Imagine being in that theatre hearing that. You can tell how bloody good it was, you could not hear a peep out of the crowd, where usually with a concert audience you would hear at least a few people yelling out. Not here, pure enjoyment and respect from the crowd of what they were experiencing.
It's like Eminem has this awesome 70 Nova that runs solid 9.9s at the dragstrip, consistently, maxed out, best time and has for years...and Kasey borrows it and runs 9.5...thanks Em...
