Kasey’s a well known country artist in Australia. Not usually a fan of country.. but this one got me.
I absolutely loved this!!!! It was so unique and done so well
Not a country fan either but great music is the universal language.
The crowd is simply mesmerized by her performance! Very few of her country music audience even know the song which was a final encore so Kasey could commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of Lose Yourself and she received a thunderous standing ovation! Best cover I've ever seen or heard in my life!! Great reaction!
True respect of an artists talent... is the audience sitting in silence..... not screaming for no fucking reason and overpowering the performance. Here is where Australian audiences excel..... they are not moronic sheep who squeal at everything..... we appreciate the music, which means we shut the fuck up, until the end......
Mate they were mesmerised..get it ??
I think it’s the greatest response for the fans to be silent and listening until the end. I would call it mesmerised. Awesome work by Kasey with the arrangement as well as the performance
Sign of respect for the artist.
An outstanding cover! I would never have listened to this Eminem song if I was not curious as to how Kasey was going to cover a rap song. I am definitely blown away!
Bloody brilliant. Best cover ever. She brought the emotion and soul to EMINEM's lyrics and made it her own. EMINEM loved it and gave her the rights to post it on Spotify.
I agree this was amazing, Eminem should pop up at her concert sometimes
I expected to not like it. My goosebumps had goosebumps by the end 😊
Emu bumps😂
Listenening is respect for the artist and artistry. Screaming and dancing makes it all about you, not the music you paid to listen to.
The worse the music, the more likely the audience is to make noise.
Kasey owns this now.
The audience was stunned. Kasey is a sweet-voiced Country singer. You might not think she had it in her - and you'd be very wrong. A truly great interpretation of the song. She understands what that song is about. .
being silent is respecting the artist... and the artistry of the performance
Probably one of the greatest performances ever.
It really was amazing
Performed at the end of her concert ❤
The brilliance of this is that Kasey was live!!! She is always at her best live…recordings just do not justify the emotion she puts into her performances!!!
Being quiet during such a performance is just as, if not more respectful to the artist, than cheering over the top of them. This can be relatively normal for Australians at concerts. Not to mention the crowd, like many reactors to this song, are silent in disbelief in what they're watching and take a bit to process what they're witnessing.
The cheers etc towards and at the end tell you all you need to know, especially in such a relatively small venue like the Civic Theatre!
What happened to the crowd?? We were mesmerised! Listen to us at the end !! We were well and truly awake ?!!
Worlds first bluegrass, folk, rock, heavy metal, power ballad, rap song?
Sounds about right, this was amazing!
I have literally watched this video probably over 30 times now... with different reaction channels... and I cry everytime. Initially I was annoyed that Eminem hadn't responded, but apparently he has now given approval for Kasey to put this on her Spotify channel. Good to know he recognises artistry when he sees it :D
ty for watching mine
She is a longtime fan of Eminem. The lockdown gave her time to finally create this magnificent arrangement ❤❤❤
Newcastle theatre has about a 1500 seat capacity. The crowd came along to listen to a much awarded country artist. Throwing in an Eminem song might have caught a few out. I'm also not a fan of crowds that need to make a lot of noise during a performance. A little squeal of joy and a spontaneous clap of the hands is allowed but leave the thunderous appreciation to the end then kick the velour covered seats off their bolts.
This isn't a cover, this is a Re-Make. Its an Homage to the original. The music perfectly matches the story telling of the lyrics. Its starts off sad and slow, talking about the struggle to make it. Then it becomes angry and defiant, and finally builds to a crescendo of triumph. Phenomenal arrangement all around, the band is great too but Kasey is the star of this performance. She put her entire soul into this. If you can't feel this performance check your pulse.
Such an epic performance, with a few surprises. Kasey is really feeling it and it shows. Props to Eminem's writing.
Really loved her take on this, i find myself singing this version lately instead of the original lol
This was in a concert of hers (I think this was the last song? Or close to?). The full theater was spellbound and silent. Those who were there for it say the atmosphere was electric. Kasey's a well-known Australian Country artist who started in her parents band (Dead Ringer Band) - in fact her Dad is in this video, playing the slide guitar.
If you want to hear something from her 'normal' wheelhouse, try 'Aint no little girl'. As with most Australian artists, the live recordings will usually be better.
Good reaction.
I was blessed to see her live 15 years ago in midtown atlanta, ga., and have been a fan ever since...wait for it...when she reaches up and grabs her pick...BAM!!!! MINDBLOWN!!! ENJOY YOUR TRIP...she shreds the banjo....just saying
The crowds in shock bro, thats why its so quiet..
The audience was subdued as i think they all knew that something amazingly special was happening. Kasey is not the first Aussie musician to reconstruct a song from the original, John Farnham covered the Beatles "Help" and Adelaide band Zoot did "Eleanor Rigby".
Amazing still though, If I feel moved my something I stand up and shout it to the mountain tops, but not everyone is the same I know. I just wanted to wake the audience up lol
@@independentunityreacts. They were awake…loving it and not wanting to miss a thing..respect..it’s an Aussie thing.
THats beautiful@@lynw.6140
great performance, pity we couldn't see it.
We Australians like to hear our artists singing, so don't applaud every high note like the Americans do and drown out the song.
There was no need to put the copyright protection cover up - Kasey is an independent artist she doesn’t have to kowtow to the big recording companies and publishers. Her records are produced by herself, brother Nash and her father Bill, and other great Australian record producers. Please check before you put up a copyright cover. I’ve watched 20+ reactions to this video and none of them were ‘covered’
Fair enough, I dive into every new artist not knowing what to expect, its hard out here for a youtuber these days, but know that, I wont put them up anymore!
Give him a bit of a break, dude. He had no idea, and others not protecting the image means nothing...as a matter of fact, artists have actually put out individual playthroughs OF THEIR OWN SONGS and been dinged for copyright infringement. The algorithm doesn't operate based on who publishes their own music, an artist has to completely wipe the video of any chance of a claim before it all the way safe, and even then I've heard stories...so we need to understand if a guy is cautious, right? He's trying to subsidize his income...
...and it's a cover, there is no copyright issue for you - Kasey has taken care of that.
@@gmadden1489 ty yeh i wont cover her videos like that anymore, i didnt realize she was independent, I have a huge respect for independent artists, btw whats a song by her you would like to see me react too?
@@gmadden1489 I am not sure what you mean by that...covers get claimed all the time...Charles Berthoud, rather infamously, recently got an actual strike when The Eagles, and their publishers, hit him for his cover of "Hotel California", no vocals, all bass, mind you (Don Henley is said to have a team of lawyers checking for copyright infringement nearly constantly...prick!). Now, Eminem has seen this cover, loved it, and contacted Kasey, giving her permission to profit from it on Spotify, but he could have absolutely claimed any profits made from this version, through Kasey directly or anyone who plays it while reacting to it. The fact that he waved claim for her is a huge deal...it's very similar to what Queen did for Angelina Jordan when she covered "Bohemian Rhapsody" on AGT, and was subsequently permitted by the band to release her version on Spotify and draw profit. But, as I said, an artist just being independent isn't always enough. The algorithm has to be fed that knowledge, usually by the publisher at the artists request (or just the artist if acting as own publisher), or it may ding the reactor (through no fault, or with any knowledge, by the artist at all).
Glad you enjoyed :)
Powerful and mesmerising.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yesss. About to watch!
Great reaction to a great and legendary performance!!
❤❤❤❤❤ thanks for playing that!
Also, at a seated venue, it's rude to stand up and block other people from seeing. I reckon this audience just wanted to listen instead of yelling and screaming. The lyrics needed to be heard. X
ruined it with that copyright protection - it's a cover, there is no copyright issue for you.
Why is 'copyright protection ' all over the screen?
Nice reaction.
Calling this a cover is downplaying it. It is so much more than a copy or adaption. This is a reimagining of an already great piece. Kasey is known as an Australian pop/country artist and has received many accolades. She started in the biz as a 10 yo with the family band. Dad still plays in band with her and is playing the slide steel guitar on stage here.
Well said!
Reactions are better when you havent seen it before
yeh well I actually hadnt seen this before, so bite me
