I bought my first Nikon in 1962 at age 16. I've used and owned a number of Nikons since then, accumulating lenses along the way, so I tend to be dedicated to that system. Most of my experience was with the manual bodies, however I went auto-focus with a 8008S, which I loved for its electronic advancements. Much later I bought an F100, which I consider the highest for of Nikon as a practical user. The F5/F6 have extra features which or of minimum utility, and they weight too much for routine use IMO. So, I bought a second F100 body, now in storage. I think I paid about $125 for each F100, and both were in like new condition, then and now. My F3 is more traditional and far tougher, but I do not beat on my equipment, and it lacks the exposure and metering options of the F100.

Sounds like we’re of the same opinion regarding these wonderful camera bodies for sure …. You seem to have an amazing amount of experience!! Question , which is your favorite F mount lens for general use, everyday shooting, your go too??

A little tip when it comes to cleaning a batterychamber: take a cottonswab, dip it in 35% winegar, whipe the leakage clean. Take another cottonswab dipped in water, clean the batterycontacts again and let it dry. I have saved a camera like that.

Hello there, I have this camera for several years and the last time I used it I forgot to removed the battery holder and today after 2 years I found out the battery holder was all damaged due to the batteries, so do you thing by just buying a new battery holder will work?

The Nikon F3 is THE best 35mm film camera of all time. Its 21 year production run is unlikely to ever be surpassed by any product, especially with 21st Century rapid product cycles. Its production run was epic even by 20th Century standards.

100% wonderful Camera body the Nikon F3 …. The feel and the results are EPIC ! But …. She’s not automatic, she’s doesn’t have auto focus and she requires batteries to shoot …. The F2 beats the F3 for reliability and the F100 beats the F3 for ease of use !
      I now own 2 F3s lol 😂
