  • Picked up a Nikon F100 for $36 on ebay, broken apparently! Fixed it and here's how!
Also the amazing Minolta Maxxum 700si , the most awesome little alternative for those people looking for fun times for Zero dollars ...ish ;-)

The exact same problem you find with the Nikon F801...which is a fine camera btw

I bought mine back in 2013 for about $300. It is in great condition and it is the only film camera I have. It reminds me of my D610.

Got 1 from a thrift store for $20 that looked like someone put their thumb thru the shutter curtain while loading film, but surprisingly still works (no leaks, accurate exposure). Old Nikon prosumer stuff are 👍.
Please compare a Fujifilm S5 Pro to a Nikon D200 or D70s if possible.

Looking down the chamber, the 2 electrodes look ok. But I see blue oxidation on copper bits at the bottom which I have cleaned where accessible. The battery holder is a gonner. But I do have a motor drive. When fitting everyting together, drat, it doesnt turn on. Probably get an expert to take apart?

How long is ‘too’ long to leave batteries in for?
