  • The Nikon D80 has been out for a long time now but it also proves to be a very fun and reliable camera to use. Being an old DSLR, it is also a gateway to explore photography as well as allows you to just focus on photography by not having any unnecessary features. In this video I will also be comparing it (a little bit) to the D200 since it has a very similar image quality output. I hope you can enjoy as well as gain something from this video! :-)

I paid $100 for D80 and $250 for D200. Both come with their kit lenses and minty. Love them both.

I'm not sure if the D80 has the ability to assign a custom function to the Fn key below the lens but, on the D90 I've assigned the point metering to that button. This works wonders when assisting in getting point sharp focus.

literally just shot my brothers football game with this camera 😂 all manual because as you said, the autofocus just misses by a small margin. This review is so accurate, well done 👏🏾

Another wonderful video David! And I really enjoy the photos you intersperse. I still shoot with my D80 and am always impressed with its output...

if you push the ISO button it displays the ISO to change with the wheel, you probably knew that though. I love my D50

I still have my D80, it was my 2nd camera at the first wedding I shot, just paired it with the 50mm f/1.8D and loved the results, still do! Always love your videos 🙂

Used to have one paired with the excellent 18-70. I regret having sold it, but after years I re-bought a minty D200 (same sensor and processor) with said 18-70 :)

Appreciate the thorough review. This camera has been on my radar but I haven’t pulled the trigger. Are the B+W picture profiles any good? Are you for or against after market battery and charger?

Hello there :) That feeling when you own a D750 and D80 :) I adapt many Soviet lenses to the D80... They don`t "like" the FX sensor too much...

Does the "Jupiter" lenses work on it? I checked and the Jupiter zoom lenses are so cheap, it would be nice to get one.
