  • This is the second chapter of three from Tomioka lens. I was delaying the publishing of this video because I encountered a technical problem with the next Tomioka lens. Till now, I don't have any news about the next Tomioka.
It's certain that I will jump to another lens.
In this video, Auto-Yashinon chronological order will be referred to, and why I prefer the DX model over DS.
A small comparison between this lens and the Super-Takumar 50mm f/1.4 8 elements was made too.

I thank you for producing another video. I do appreciate your comparing it to the Takumar, as it is probably the most recognizable vintage 50mm lens.

I purchased a Yashinon DS 50mm f1.4 a few days ago. It has no A/M switch.
    Item Nr. 1037216.
Was it produced by Tomioka ?

Yes, it's a Tomioka lens, and because it is a DS model, the A/M switch was removed. DS-M too. Only DX generation have that switch.

      Thanks for answering.
I purchased this lens and i will use it on Praktica cameras ( MTL3/5, PLC3, VLC 2, Nova Ib, Praktica Mat ) and on Contax cameras ( D, RTS ).
After the first roll i think it renders similar to my SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4, but the Yashinon fits more comfortably in my hand.
The advantage of the Takumar is to have an A/M switch, especially on Praktica LLC, VLC and PLC cameras you need this switch.

@@j.c.103 you are welcome. Watch my chapter 40 on how a made a turn-around on using the lens with the M42 ring adapter.
