ABOUT COLDPLAY
Since forming at university in London, Coldplay have gone on to become one of the planet’s most popular acts, selling more than 100 million copies of their nine Number One albums, which have spawned a string of hits including Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, Paradise, Viva La Vida, A Sky Full Of Stars, Hymn For The Weekend, Adventure Of A Lifetime, Orphans and, most recently, Higher Power and My Universe.

The X&Y album is just filled with my favorite nostalgic hits. RUclips is the closest thing we have to a time machine

Ain't that the truth, pity we can't get V R version wouldn't that be ace !!!
Unfortunately with all the damn ads🙄😩
Man this song is a punch in the soul.
You described it perfectly.
"Are you lost or incomplete?
Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece?
Tell me, how do you feel?
Well, I feel like they're talking in a language I don't speak
And they're talking it to me"

Instantly back at 14 years old again. Just hearing the first notes stirs something in my stomach, the nostalgia, the memories.
I agree. I still get chills listening to Coldplay's first 4 albums. the 2nd one and ofcourse THIS one are BEYOND AMAZING ! This song is hauntingly beautiful !
I've been looking for this song for ages! I knew that I wasn't crazy when I said that I remembered a coldplay song with a robot in its video🥲🥲🥲 So many memories! Felt like a child again
❤️
Ohh same here man!
Fun fact, the first notes are not even Coldplay s but the music by kraftwerk
I haven’t heard this song since 2005. Can’t believe it’s been 18 years. Crazy.
This song helped me get through a very dark time of my life when i was dealing with depression and loneliness even though i had friends and family around me, hard to explain the pain i went through every single day, this song helped me a lot, thank you Cold Play
I wish you well and earnestly hope you are in a better place mentally now (as I write this July 12, 2022)
🤗🙏
Depression is an ugly monster. I still battle with it from time to time, but not near as much as I did when this song came out. 2005 was a year that I can say I was at my lowest. I was in college and I felt lonely, without purpose and hopeless. I was told to be "John Wayne" about it and that it was all in my head. It's really easy to tell someone to just deal with it, when you are not the one who is experiencing it. I am proof that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Much of what caused my depression went away with age and wisdom and understanding, but there is some that remains. Though I cannot tell you that I know how you feel, I can say that you are not, nor were you alone. Stay strong. :)
how did you get through it man I’m going through the same thing
I was just about to say something about the uncanny resemblance to Kraftwerk.
One of the most underrated and underappreciated songs of all time
Adds to the HUGE list of underrated songs...
Ikr
Well, the underappreciated song should be "Computer Love" by Kraftwerk from which the Coldplay have plagiarized.
@@TheMaximiliandoc No plagiarism involved... they asked and were granted permission to sample the riff.. Check out the Kraftwerk - Computer Love vids here on RUclips.

This song makes me wanna cry so bad. Makes me think of my brother and how both of us keep trying so hard to find the way through this confusing life, playing tough while we silently understand how the other is feeling, how both of us keep tanking hopelessness, fear, and confusion every day and still get up every morning and fight hard to find our ways to a successful life. I love my brother and I am proud of him 💙
Wow nice
That made me cry man

I also think about my brother, kind of bittersweet really. I wish you and your brother a happy life xxx

verdade
"talk", "speed of sound" and "clocks" are the best song they have. Speed of sound is the best song I've ever heard
That only means you've heard very little so far in your life.
Ali Caramba no, i play piano and guitar and the complexity speed of sounds has cannot be found in any other song I have ever heard, played etc. That is a masterful composition. You probably don’t play any instrument so, what are telling me? Your opinion means actually nothing.
@@yesidmartins3918 I encourage you to hear and play more songs. Even those you don't like.
Ali Caramba I do and start liking song I don’t like but even though I’ve played about 100 songs I still think speed of sound is the best song I’ve ever heard. It’s level of complexity is unique.
@@yesidmartins3918 As you wish, just check in ten years how your opinion holds on.
Childhood memories are coming back, tears of happiness in my eyes, the nostalgia...
computer love from kraftwerk is the real song this one is awesome too
The impact Kraftwerk has on the music industry is insane.
Exactly, they sampled it, but it still sounds great. Kraftwerk should be in some kind of a museum because they deserve all the fame.
Glory KRAFTWERK! Glory Vangelis! Glory Coldplay.
To me they revolutionized Music totally. A lot Bands brought something new. But Kraftwerk invented a whole Genre..they even build some of the first Electro Drums and patent it...
I'm 47 years old, never heard of Kraftwerk till recently. While listening to ComputerWorld I hear this little riff I recognized and that leads me here.
@@flufycat2748 Exactly, Vangelis is one of my favourite composers. The O.S.T of Blade Runner is a masterpiece.
This song is still as amazing as the first time I heard it.

Mine to
One of the most beautiful I've ever heard.Jonny Buckland's style is awesome.
And Coldplay snatched that solo from Kraftwerk (with their consent)
As a Kraftwerk fan, this song is really interesting. They really liked the motif and chords from "Computer Love", a track off Kraftwerk's 1981 "Computerworld" album, so they asked permission to use it. After several weeks, they got permission from Ralf Hütter in the form of a handwritten note that said only one word: "Yes". A fascinating story and a great reimagining of an already great song.
When I was little, I used to listen to this song often with my father. Since then, the years have passed and I had totally forgotten about it until my father played it randomly on his guitar recently.
It's crazy how fast we forget about our childhood memories, but they never really disappear. They are always there somewhere waiting to be remembered somehow
Or how music can trigger lost ones. I felt this.
seeing all the 2000's kids here makes me feel really proud of Coldplay. their earlier fans are still here and they also have a brand new fanbase of 2010's kids, me included which proves that their music is timeless. I wish I was 15 in the early 2000's instead of 2021
I discovered Coldplay in 2007 or ‘08. I was 7 or 8. Nice to see 2010s kids enjoying early Coldplay.
samee!!
It's so weird seeing comments like this. I remember youtube comments in 2006 where people were saying they wished they were 15 in the early 80s or 90s.
It was amazing growing up with this. I was a teenager when Coldplay was releasing their best stuff. Amazing memories, drinking and smoking in the woods, all of us absolute hardcore jamming to music including many Coldplay songs
They’re probably the only band that were popular when my parents were younger (in their early 30s) and in my youth too
My Grandpa recently passed away and I feel as if this song defines our relationship. He suffered for many years trying to connect and show affection, his love for us. He bought us presents and tried his hardest, but the family distanced themselves from him. Until one day his parkinsons disease got worse, and before long, it was too late.
All he wanted, was for us to relate to him, to understand him, just to talk and connect....
Triste tu Historia 😢😢😢ke Dios le aya dado conformidad
For my brother in Heaven. I'd love to get through to him. He's missed so much and was a huge Coldplay fan. We had that in common. Now I feel lost, incomplete as the missing piece of the puzzle is with the angels now. Huge thanks to all the guys at Coldplay especially Chris Martin, for helping me get my emotions out and helping me find a way through.💔 💙
This song by technical standards is the best song Coldplay has ever done. Everything is almost perfect with the timing of the music the lyrics, and the percussion amazing song.
Coldplay speaks directly to the soul. This music heals

They used to, but not anymore it seems. this here is 2005! Now they haven't had a real catchy hit in a long time!
They lost that edge that comes with wealth and stardom sometimes. Perhaps not. But we will see what the future holds.
Nothing they will ever create, (future) can touch this here, just don't see it.

Yeap... Back in the days..
Yellow
A rush of blood to the head
Parachute
The scientist
Are very nice tracks :)
+Heeyuan Ong fix you was nice too
What is wrong with the cold play now
+Gabriel Waggoner the direction they went in was more electronic and mainstream sounding than songs like Fix You, Yellow, The Scientist, and A Rush Of Blood To The Head. My least favorite off the A Head Full of Dreams is adventure of a lifetime. I just don't like it at all. It's not as raw and and basic as the parachutes album was. Up and Up imo is probably the best song off the new album they made. I feel like that's gonna be one of their better songs, but not as popular as Clocks and The Scientist or anything off the older albums. I think it's just gonna be as popular as Paradise.
the music evolves, bands evolves through time, you cant expect from coldplay to play the same music all the time, thats ridiculous. The music of an artist is influenced by many things, like emotions, the different problems of their personal life, the will of trying something different, the desire of experiment with the music.
I’m turning 25 soon and listening to this song I feel so nostalgic… I never envisioned this would be my adulthood when I was young and listening to this song oh how I wish I could back to these days … ❤
Chris has so much empathy for a giant metall doll. Others have non for total strangers.
Absolutely agree 👍💯
It seems that only true Coldplay lovers (like myself!) know this song exists. In my opinion it's one of the best.
It is the best.
It has 8 million views I don't agree with your statement but I do agree it's a great song!
I'm not a card-carrying fan of Coldplay and don't know much about them except for "Clocks" (which is really great), but I like this song a lot. That guitar hook kinda soars overhead, like a bird that's both in flight and singing its trademark call. Lush and beautiful.
Bryan Dunn Repeat viewers could easily make up 8 million on such an awesome song :P
Oisín Neary maybe however I don't think it's the case. It's a well known song.
The night, in the car. Look at the sky, and listen this music. This is so perfect.

this song is so underrated. I heard it one time on the radio and it becomes my 2nd favorite Coldplay song. Clocks is my favorite.
I heard this song on the radio too. It's my favorite of Coldplay, i sang and played it one time to my friends, i'm not a great singer, but a the end of the cover, they were all like "Wooow". This is a really beautiful song, melody, lyrics. Everyone should listen to this one, at least one time in his life.
It's so sad that they never play X&Y songs apart from Fix You. Underrated album! Talk and The Hardest Part are two of my favorite Coldplay songs!
I lost my twin brother to a car accident when I was 28. This song was written after the accident, but it is pretty much the monologue that goes on in my head every day when I think about my brother. He was my role model and I was lost without him. I eventually went on to become a photographer ("take a picture of something you see")

lyrics:
Oh, brother I can't, I can't get through
I’ve been trying hard to reach you 'cause I don’t know what to do
Oh, brother, I can't believe it's true
I’m so scared about the future and I wanna talk to you
Oh, I wanna talk to you
You can take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You can climb a ladder up to the Sun
Or write a song nobody has sung
Or do something that's never been done
Are you lost or incomplete?
Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece?
Tell me how do you feel
Well, I feel like they're talking in a language I don't speak
And they're talking it to me
So you take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You can climb a ladder up to the Sun
Or write a song nobody has sung
Or do something that's never been done
Or do something that's never been done
So you don't know where you're going and you wanna talk?
And you feel like you're going where you've been before?
You tell anyone who'll listen, but you feel ignored?
Nothing's really making any sense at all, let's talk
Let's talk, let's talk, let's talk

This is the most nostalgic song I know. When i was a little kid i remember visiting my grandma with my brother and sister and they loved coldplay and used to always play them. They had an orange CD of a live show of Coldplay. I miss the excitement of visiting my grandparents and seeing my siblings. Love this song.

Coldplay music in general is excellent. Talk is brilliant tunage, one of there best in my opinion.
This song is so beautiful. It talks about being lost in life and having someone who has got your back, someone like a brother. Someone you can always fall back on. This song reminds me of one of my school friends. You get a lot of friends in life, but finding someone around whom you can genuinely be yourself, that's rare. I have many friends, but amount of people around whom I can be myself that's rare. We don't talk now, I have tried reaching out to him, but, he doesn't respond back and even if he does it's not the same energy.

Just remember it as a lesson for the present time of consciousness. Your brother must have been amazing, and it is a sad time to experience that loss, but take it as a lesson and a memory, not as something you wish you had.
Don't think too much, we never have time to tell all what we have within our heart and between brothers we don't need to speak it's all about feelings I'm sure he feels you.

This is my all time favourite Coldplay song and in my top 10 favourite songs in general. I'm a young girl who've just stepped into the world of adults. For the past decade i've struggled a lot with living in this world combined with being autistic. I've wanted to give up many times, not because I hated living but because I couldn't see myself grow up. I couldn't see a future family picture nor a workplace. I couldn't settle myself in a world that I couldn't understand. It's as if everyone got a instruction guide but they forgot to give it to me and I need to figure it out all by myself. As the lyrics says it feels like they all were taught a language I don't even know the basics of. Although I don't know where i'll be in 10 years, i'll keep trying. Not trying to fit in this society but trying to accept myself and see myself as a person that deserves to be loved by herself. This song always makes me feel understood and tells what's been in my head for years now. Thanks Coldplay for making such a beautiful piece of music.
Just remember, not everyone has to fit in. We outsiders are valuable! Never think the opposite!

The real question is - who'd be the perfect for a breakfast - C, W, J or G?
It’s a good Song to help you find yourself when you feel lost
I used to listen to it a lot when I felt lost
Now I am doing well but once in a while I listen to it to contemplate deeply about my love ones who are already gone
Me too.
@@erinross5044 Me also
Also I too
Jose Hernandez it’s a song for about wanting to talk to my brother, unfortunately he has passed, I still want to talk to him after 10 years
This bands music really helped me after my wife died.
Great band, great production, great singer, great lyrics, great emotional arc, great topic... perfection
This is actually my favourite song from Coldplay.
same
Thank god for Kraftwerk. They created the original beat that Coldplay sampled in this song. Although Coldplay is definitely quite good in their own right.
tommye75 what if is my secomd favorite
My favorite song is "Clocks", and I really like this song as well.
literally
Funny fact about this song: They are using fragments of Kraftwerk's (The founding fathers of Electro-Pop) song "Computer Love". Even funnier story is how they got the permission to use it. Kraftwerk was widely known for their secrecy and seclusion. They did not reveal their studio location and would only answer the telephone on certain hours. Basically, Coldplay wrote a letter and through various lawyers passed it to Kraftwerk. Two weeks later he received an answer in an envelope which simply said "Yes".
Fragments????? It's a cover with any stupid words added on...(Sorry for my English)
@@zagor_3075 true, true, but nothing we can do with this, song became a success...🤔
i love kraftwerk

the Melodie is a cover of Kraftwerk - computer love ... so .. Kraftwerk was the masterpiece
@@HenryJaques Much more to a song than just the melody
classic music is only melody in the most parts
@@HenryJaques we're not talking about classic music though aye
Coldplay's Greatest and Most Underrated Song ever made..
Completamente de acuerdo desde Sudamérica
True story I had a friend who I had lost contact with about a year before passed in a car accident. At his funeral his mom played this song as it was his favorite song. Every now ill listen to it for melancholy. RIP Patrick 16 June 2006
This is the most underrated song of Coldplay.
Scheiße totally !! But hey at least few people know it ! It gives me a relief somehow for I want to keep it for me haha
Ever heard of things i dont understand by coldplay? Pretty great song to.
I don't get why it should be underrated. I heard this one on the radio a lot back in the days.
Aber es kommt Von Kraftwerk Lied das heißt :computer love 💁♂️
That is because it is a Kraftwerk song called "computer love" released in 1981...
I absolutely have to meet them someday so I can thank them for the wonderful memories their music has created in my life.
Happy 17th Anniversary X&Y 🟥🟧🟨🟩🟦🤘
My fav album!🥰
One of the very best songs of all time. And yes, Computer Love is also one of the best songs ever.
Corona outside, Coldplay inside.
10 years later, if you're watching this, you're a legend.
So are you !
I remember watching this Music Video on MTV (when that actually was a thing), and I could get scared at the ending! 😭 I was like 8 years old…
Another amazing song 🎵 love you Coldplay ❤😊
The best Coldplay song ever!
