This song helped me get through a very dark time of my life when i was dealing with depression and loneliness even though i had friends and family around me, hard to explain the pain i went through every single day, this song helped me a lot, thank you Cold Play
Depression is an ugly monster. I still battle with it from time to time, but not near as much as I did when this song came out. 2005 was a year that I can say I was at my lowest. I was in college and I felt lonely, without purpose and hopeless. I was told to be "John Wayne" about it and that it was all in my head. It's really easy to tell someone to just deal with it, when you are not the one who is experiencing it. I am proof that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Much of what caused my depression went away with age and wisdom and understanding, but there is some that remains. Though I cannot tell you that I know how you feel, I can say that you are not, nor were you alone. Stay strong. :)
Ali Caramba no, i play piano and guitar and the complexity speed of sounds has cannot be found in any other song I have ever heard, played etc. That is a masterful composition. You probably don’t play any instrument so, what are telling me? Your opinion means actually nothing.
Ali Caramba I do and start liking song I don’t like but even though I’ve played about 100 songs I still think speed of sound is the best song I’ve ever heard. It’s level of complexity is unique.
This song makes me wanna cry so bad. Makes me think of my brother and how both of us keep trying so hard to find the way through this confusing life, playing tough while we silently understand how the other is feeling, how both of us keep tanking hopelessness, fear, and confusion every day and still get up every morning and fight hard to find our ways to a successful life. I love my brother and I am proud of him 💙

This Coldplay Song is based on a song of them, Computerliebe, or computerlove in English. You should definitely check them out if you haven't already! I'm not a card-carrying fan of Coldplay and don't know much about them except for "Clocks" (which is really great), but I like this song a lot. That guitar hook kinda soars overhead, like a bird that's both in flight and singing its trademark call. Lush and beautiful.
As a Kraftwerk fan, this song is really interesting. They really liked the motif and chords from "Computer Love", a track off Kraftwerk's 1981 "Computerworld" album, so they asked permission to use it. After several weeks, they got permission from Ralf Hütter in the form of a handwritten note that said only one word: "Yes". A fascinating story and a great reimagining of an already great song.
Best band ever. This album means so much to me. I have amazing memories with my husband going on road trips listening to Coldplay. I miss him every day. Thank you Coldplay for giving us an incredible soundtrack. Thank you for comforting me in my grief. 🙏💜

My Grandpa recently passed away and I feel as if this song defines our relationship. He suffered for many years trying to connect and show affection, his love for us. He bought us presents and tried his hardest, but the family distanced themselves from him. Until one day his parkinsons disease got worse, and before long, it was too late. All he wanted, was for us to relate to him, to understand him, just to talk and connect....
I'm not that old I'll be 70 in a couple of years and I don't have that kind of a problem but I'm having that problem trying to tell all my living kids wherever they may be how much I care and I don't and any women that I knew I don't get contacted by anybody of them
I lost my twin brother to a car accident when I was 28. This song was written after the accident, but it is pretty much the monologue that goes on in my head every day when I think about my brother. He was my role model and I was lost without him. I eventually went on to become a photographer ("take a picture of something you see")
LETRAS/LYRICS Oh brother, I can't, I can't get through I've been trying hard to reach you 'cause I don' know what to do Oh brother, I can't believe it's true I'm so scared about the future, and I wanna talk to you Oh, I wanna talk to you You can take a picture of something you see In the future where will I be? This song by technical standards is the best song Coldplay has ever done. Everything is almost perfect with the timing of the music the lyrics, and the percussion amazing song.
This song is so beautiful. It talks about being lost in life and having someone who has got your back, someone like a brother. Someone you can always fall back on. This song reminds me of one of my school friends. You get a lot of friends in life, but finding someone around whom you can genuinely be yourself, that's rare. I have many friends, but amount of people around whom I can be myself that's rare. We don't talk now, I have tried reaching out to him, but, he doesn't respond back and even if he does it's not the same energy.
Oh brother I can't, I can't get through I've been trying hard to reach you, cause I don't know what to do Oh brother I can't believe it's true I'm so scared about the future and I wanna talk to you Oh I wanna talk to you You can take a picture of something you see In the future where will I be? You can climb a ladder up to the sun Or write a song nobody has sung Or do something that's never been done Are you lost or incomplete? Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece? Tell me how do you feel? Well, I feel like they're talking in a language I don't speak And they're talking it to me So you take a picture of something you see In the future where will I be You can climb a ladder up to the sun Or write a song nobody has sung Or do something that's never been done Do something that's never been done So you don't know where you're going, and you wanna talk And you feel like you're going where you've been before You tell anyone who'll listen but you feel ignored-------
Just remember it as a lesson for the present time of consciousness. Your brother must have been amazing, and it is a sad time to experience that loss, but take it as a lesson and a memory, not as something you wish you had.
Don't think too much, we never have time to tell all what we have within our heart and between brothers we don't need to speak it's all about feelings I'm sure he feels you.
To me they revolutionized Music totally. A lot Bands brought something new. But Kraftwerk invented a whole Genre..they even build some of the first Electro Drums and patent it...
I'm 47 years old, never heard of Kraftwerk till recently. While listening to ComputerWorld I hear this little riff I recognized and that leads me here.
Thank god for Kraftwerk. They created the original beat that Coldplay sampled in this song. Although Coldplay is definitely quite good in their own right.
When I was little, I used to listen to this song often with my father. Since then, the years have passed and I had totally forgotten about it until my father played it randomly on his guitar recently. It's crazy how fast we forget about our childhood memories, but they never really disappear. They are always there somewhere waiting to be remembered somehow
It’s cause some people including me don’t like how they basically just stole kraftwerks computer love and made it into this. They said that they asked and got an answer of yes but there were rumors that they just stole it at first
True story I had a friend who I had lost contact with about a year before passed in a car accident. At his funeral his mom played this song as it was his favorite song. Every now ill listen to it for melancholy. RIP Patrick 16 June 2006
"Oh brother, I can't believe it's true. I'm so scared about the future and I want to talk to you." This speaks to me. I miss you Lucas, so much. I wish I could talk to you again.
I'm sorry :/ I can relate aswell, but I don't think on the same scale as you. My brother is caged away like an animal for the next 5 years while I raise his kids. Prayers sent to you.
It’s a good Song to help you find yourself when you feel lost I used to listen to it a lot when I felt lost Now I am doing well but once in a while I listen to it to contemplate deeply about my love ones who are already gone
The first Coldplay song I heard and it was in 2010. I cannot believe it is still underrated. "Or write a song nobody has sung Or do something that's never been done" Simple, factual and yet underrated.
I may be 15 in the Twerk/Selfie generation but for me there will NEVER be ANYTHING better than Coldplay. My older sister listened to old songs from her generation and near her I invented an obsession as well. I wish my friends liked such beauty as COldplay as well...
I'm lost in my life and i don't know what to do next. Lying in my bed staring at the ceiling then i picked this song on spotify and listened to the lyrics, it hit me deep. It's just hard to be alone and have no sense of purpose, and be empty.
You're not alone, the future is a weird thing but it's what you make of it that matters, live your life to the best of your potential and never stray from your path, here's to a brighter future.
This is the most nostalgic song I know. When i was a little kid i remember visiting my grandma with my brother and sister and they loved coldplay and used to always play them. They had an orange CD of a live show of Coldplay. I miss the excitement of visiting my grandparents and seeing my siblings. Love this song.
You too? This is one of a few songs to make me question both my life and my future. Other songs are: Maggie Reilly - "Gaia" Madrugada - "The Kids Are on High Street" Anne Grete Preus - "Fryd" (The song is in Norwegian. "Fryd" translates to English as "Joy".)
I love almost all of Coldplay's songs, however, this one hits me differently. I don't tell people about my feelings or depressive episode, but I feel like Coldplag knows me well and is the only friend I can spill my guts out to.
I heard this song on the radio too. It's my favorite of Coldplay, i sang and played it one time to my friends, i'm not a great singer, but a the end of the cover, they were all like "Wooow". This is a really beautiful song, melody, lyrics. Everyone should listen to this one, at least one time in his life.
Look up Computer Love by Kraftwerk to see where Coldplay got their inspiration. Unlike other artists, they actually consulted with Kraftwerk before releasing
This song is golden, it has my favorite guitar solo! Wish they were still a rock band, they make better alternative rock songs than pop songs tbh. They climaxed at Viva, but I hope they'll top that album someday.
Andrew Glover your right. The first three are probably the best. Although I do think that X&Y is underrated, I think they could have done a tiny bit more to it (the inclusion of A Ladder to the Sun and If they published Gravity as there own on this album).
Funny fact about this song: They are using fragments of Kraftwerk's (The founding fathers of Electro-Pop) song "Computer Love". Even funnier story is how they got the permission to use it. Kraftwerk was widely known for their secrecy and seclusion. They did not reveal their studio location and would only answer the telephone on certain hours. Basically, Coldplay wrote a letter and through various lawyers passed it to Kraftwerk. Two weeks later he received an answer in an envelope which simply said "Yes".
Jill Rosenberg Same here. It's been years since I heard this song, back then I didn't unterstand a word of English. Yesterday this song was playing, I unterstood the lyrics and began to cry. :'D
oh everybody agree with you.... It makes me really nostalgic when I listen to their old songs....I like they 'new albums' I really do but I'm little sad, that they are not making songs like they used too again...
This song means more than I can even explain. It perfectly expresses my brother and I. There is noone in this world who I can trust than him. I love you max💖
I’m turning 25 soon and listening to this song I feel so nostalgic… I never envisioned this would be my adulthood when I was young and listening to this song oh how I wish I could back to these days … ❤

LETRAS/LYRICS
Oh brother, I can't, I can't get through
I've been trying hard to reach you 'cause I don' know what to do
Oh brother, I can't believe it's true
I'm so scared about the future, and I wanna talk to you
Oh, I wanna talk to you
You can take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You can climb a ladder up to the sun
Or a write a song nobody has sung
Or do something that's never been done
Are you lost or incomplete?
Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece?
Tell me, how do you feel?
Well, I feel like they're talking in a language I don't speak
And they're talking it to me
So you take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You can climb a ladder up to the sun
Or write a song nobody has sung
Or do something that's never been done
Or do something that's never been done
So you don't know where you're going and you wanna talk
And you feel like you're going where you've been before
You tell anyone who'll listen, but you feel ignored
Nothing's really making any sense at all, let's talk
Let's talk, let's talk, let's talk
I haven’t heard this sound in 2 years and I still don’t need the lyrics

This song by technical standards is the best song Coldplay has ever done. Everything is almost perfect with the timing of the music the lyrics, and the percussion amazing song.
The night, in the car. Look at the sky, and listen this music. This is so perfect.
Exactly
dont do it while driving tho
I can imagine. It must be quite an experience.
A shooting Star exactly!@!

This song never leaves me.. beautiful writing.. simple .. let's talk let's talk.
This is the most underrated song of Coldplay.
Scheiße totally !! But hey at least few people know it ! It gives me a relief somehow for I want to keep it for me haha
Ever heard of things i dont understand by coldplay? Pretty great song to.
I don't get why it should be underrated. I heard this one on the radio a lot back in the days.
Aber es kommt Von Kraftwerk Lied das heißt :computer love 💁♂️
That is because it is a Kraftwerk song called "computer love" released in 1981...
This song makes me feel all of the feels. I love Coldplay so much.

X&Y is my favorite album. Its just a wonderful masterpiece.

Call me a fake fan but my favourite album of them is AHFOD. It just makes me feel free, like flying

underrated band. Ever since they recorded Clocks I was hooked.
This song has always made me think of my brother, we never talked to each other enough when he was alive and now we can't.
Mine is alive, but i cant remember the last time we spoke.
Sorry for u
Sorry about your brother 😔
Just remember it as a lesson for the present time of consciousness. Your brother must have been amazing, and it is a sad time to experience that loss, but take it as a lesson and a memory, not as something you wish you had.
Don't think too much, we never have time to tell all what we have within our heart and between brothers we don't need to speak it's all about feelings I'm sure he feels you.
Coldplay makes me feel a certain way that only I could ever understand
The impact Kraftwerk has on the music industry is insane.
Exactly, they sampled it, but it still sounds great. Kraftwerk should be in some kind of a museum because they deserve all the fame.
Glory KRAFTWERK! Glory Vangelis! Glory Coldplay.
@@flufycat2748 Exactly, Vangelis is one of my favourite composers. The O.S.T of Blade Runner is a masterpiece.
This is actually my favourite song from Coldplay.

Thank god for Kraftwerk. They created the original beat that Coldplay sampled in this song. Although Coldplay is definitely quite good in their own right.

My favorite song is "Clocks", and I really like this song as well.
literally
When I was little, I used to listen to this song often with my father. Since then, the years have passed and I had totally forgotten about it until my father played it randomly on his guitar recently.
It's crazy how fast we forget about our childhood memories, but they never really disappear. They are always there somewhere waiting to be remembered somehow
Or how music can trigger lost ones. I felt this.
why is this song less popular than the rest of their songs???😭 this is one of their best
It’s cause some people including me don’t like how they basically just stole kraftwerks computer love and made it into this. They said that they asked and got an answer of yes but there were rumors that they just stole it at first

My favorite part of the song is 3:43. I will never get tired of this song.
It's so sad that they never play X&Y songs apart from Fix You. Underrated album! Talk and The Hardest Part are two of my favorite Coldplay songs!
Who is here with me in 2024 watching this LEGENDS?
I may be 15 in the Twerk/Selfie generation but for me there will NEVER be ANYTHING better than Coldplay. My older sister listened to old songs from her generation and near her I invented an obsession as well. I wish my friends liked such beauty as COldplay as well...
I'm 13 and got the same!
Coldplay badass son, represent the 00s son!
I'm 15 years old, and yes, i got the same, but I like older bands, like Modern Talking, Bee Gees, etc
I'm the same too :D Coldplay and Travis for me! Nice to know there's people out there who don't find Coldplay depressing like some people I know xD
***** In some ways their music is actually the most inspiring because it deals with difficult issues, but there is always some hope shining through
If you're happy listen to coldplay, if you're sad listen to coldplay

Coldplays songs are like a fine wine, they just get better with age.
I love almost all of Coldplay's songs, however, this one hits me differently. I don't tell people about my feelings or depressive episode, but I feel like Coldplag knows me well and is the only friend I can spill my guts out to.
I’m not a Coldplag fan personally, I prefer Coldplay
this song is so underrated. I heard it one time on the radio and it becomes my 2nd favorite Coldplay song. Clocks is my favorite.
Best song ever. The guitar makes my heart palpitate. Chris's voice is just perfect.
The guitar is actually a Kraftwerk riff
Look up Computer Love by Kraftwerk to see where Coldplay got their inspiration. Unlike other artists, they actually consulted with Kraftwerk before releasing
I absolutely have to meet them someday so I can thank them for the wonderful memories their music has created in my life.
My favorite Coldplay song... Unfortunately, they did not play it when I went to see them in concert!

I love the back and forth with the vocals and guitar. It was one of the first things that drew me to this song, and it keeps me coming back.
This song is golden, it has my favorite guitar solo! Wish they were still a rock band, they make better alternative rock songs than pop songs tbh. They climaxed at Viva, but I hope they'll top that album someday.
I only really like the first 3 albums but I do own the first 4 plus a little live album!
Andrew Glover your right. The first three are probably the best. Although I do think that X&Y is underrated, I think they could have done a tiny bit more to it (the inclusion of A Ladder to the Sun and If they published Gravity as there own on this album).
In terms of income from tours, they did.
And that riff stolen from Kraftwerk’s Computer Love, perfect....
Jester not stolen, but asked for.
Fragments????? It's a cover with any stupid words added on...(Sorry for my English)
