This song is honestly one of the best songs ever created in the history of music. It makes me shake because of how good it is. Because of how it brings me back to earlier days... around 2003, 2004. It makes my heart shake. I get a bitter sweet feeling listening to this song... like... a sweet nostalgia of the good old days mixed in with an anxiety and a sadness of how those days are gone and how things haven't really gotten all that much better for me since.
Coldplay was the soundtrack of my childhood. Hearing this song again after so many years makes me want to smile and cry at the same time. It brings me straight back to the happiness and simplicity of childhood, but at the same time it makes me sad that life is moving so fast and that I won't ever be able to be that kid again
it just happened to me!! Literally just a few minutes ago. I was watching a video where a guy is speeding his cars on an empty road and the background song is this one (he was listening in the radio). Suddenly a nostalgia feeling kicked in and lucky me it wasn't that hard to find this song again

I was pulling into the driveway, not quite into the parking lot. I was blasting the piano of this. It was 0530. 3 respiratory therapists that i know and trust implicitly, and 2 coworkers from dietary who keep me fed- all jammed to this. I then smiled, sans-mask-yet, and parked. Saw those same RTs; saw my dietary peeps. My friend in dietary bought me my lunch. Crab stuffed fish. It. Was. Outstanding! I said, "I want to hug you so much; I'm hugging you in my heart!" She said, "Kathleen, it was the least I could do" We're a team, at my hospital. I felt special today.
Our memory is composed of specific brainwaves. This particular music's sound waves might be similar to specific memories that you got that when played, brings back the associated memories you got!

I feel so bad for everyone that can’t find this song. i had the intro stuck in my head for such a long time and it took me awhile to finally find the song.
Yeah, but wtf, I'm 56 and could at least remember the name of the band. I thought this was why we had RUclips, I punched in the band and said nope, nope, nope, could be, and then YES!!! Gotta luv ya sum YT.
This is my favorite Coldplay song. Everytime I hear it I get goosebumps. The piano and vocals just make me feel like I'm floating or falling down endlessly into a fantasy land with no worries. Just pure relaxation.
It’s because the lyrics explain how you cannot fix some of your most old and complex problems and bad habits, and the piano is like a never ending lullaby / tune that sets well with your wavelengths as a being.
So you decide to just sit there, and indulge into the beauty of the sad but also bittersweet tune of reality and our perception of how our creation as truly helpless creatures to the universe and its uncanny and distasteful way of showing your your fate.

September 11th/2015 the date in which the best person I've ever met passed away, We were friends for 7 - 8 years approximately. I was with him that day but left shortly before things happened so I couldn't be there to help him. Later that day when I was on my way back home, I was waiting the bus with my headphones on and listening some music when suddenly I heard "Viejo" (the nickname he gave me and only he called me that way [it means Old in spanish]) looked around and no one was talking to me so I thought it was weird but irrelevant, I obviously was unaware about my friend's situation but only the next day I understood that it was my friend saying goodbye to me when I was informed that he died by a Cardiopulmonary Arrest by the time I was on the bus stop. He was 21 as long as me and he is the first person I lose in my life. His musical taste was exigent and Clocks by Coldplay was one of the songs he could play on piano. He really liked Clocks and now I will always remember him with this song.
+Cesar Forero I too am sorry for your loss. Sadly there will be other losses for you. What a great memory for you! This is the most beautiful piano solo I have ever heard in my life. In time when you hear this your heart will swell with the love for your friend and the pain of the loss will fade. I know this as in my long life I have endured many losses. Good luck and love to you.
I remember that in the spring of 2010, I truly became a Coldplay listener. In May 2010, I felt inspired to search for a song I had heard a few times on the radio and remembered from my childhood. I was 17 years old at the time. Back in 2002, there was a book recommendation show in Hungary called A Nagy Könyv (The Big Book). The show's theme song was Clocks by Coldplay. Even then, I noticed its melody and thought it was a beautifully sounding song. I was around 8 or 9 years old at the time, more precisely 9. Years later, I heard this song again, probably in an ad for Viasat History or the History Channel. It struck me once more how amazing the song was. By 2010, I had started seriously listening to Coldplay’s music, particularly the albums A Rush of Blood to the Head and Viva la Vida. In May and June 2010, I listened to these albums almost continuously. After school, from the afternoon until late at night, I played these songs over and over. In the spring of 2011, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall became a defining song for me, as did Charlie Brown from the Mylo Xyloto album. In the fall, Paradise was the track that truly captivated me. These albums and songs were a major source of inspiration for me that year. Then, in the spring of 2012, I delved even deeper into Coldplay's music, starting with the Parachutes album, which I listened to and analyzed in depth. It was a truly remarkable experience. Later, I discovered the X&Y album, which felt to me like it had been designed by an architect. Its sound evoked the sensation of an astronaut floating through space, between galaxies. So the catalyst for all of this was Clocks, which had a significant impact on me since my teenage years when I first began listening to Coldplay. It feels great to look back on these times.
The lights go out and I can't be saved Tides that I tried to swim against Have brought me down upon my knees Oh I beg, I beg and plead, singing Come out of the things unsaid Shoot an apple off my head and a Trouble that can't be named A tiger's waiting to be tamed, singing You are, you are Confusion that never stops The closing walls and the ticking clocks gonna Come back and take you home I could not stop, that you now know, singing Come out upon my seas Cursed missed opportunities am I A part of the cure Or am I part of the disease, singing You are, you are You are, you are You are, you are And nothing else compares And nothing else compares And nothing else compares Home, home, where I wanted to go Home, home, where I wanted to go Home, home, where I wanted to go (You are) Home, home, where I wanted to go (You are)
Coldplay are the only band which can make you feel like you're in another world, they are lyrical and musical genius' and no matter how sad you may feel Coldplay are always there to cheer you up!:3
Yes, that is true. But in my case there are other bands thake make me feel the same as you feel with coldplay, like Radiohead or Pink Floyd. I think it is the sound. Coldplay's sound is really impressive, fantastic, it fills the air with that reverb and that perfect similarities between the sound of each instrument and the voice of Chris Martin. Those epic keyboards in their songs. PS: excuse my poor english.
When things are sad, we cry. When things make us overjoyed, we cry. When we're in pain, we cry. When we are elated, we cry. When we relive old memories that cause us pain, we cry. When we richly remember the wondrous times gone past, we cry. When we've lost hope, we cry. When Hope finds us again, we cry. Coldplay somehow taps into something so primal, yet so individualized within us, regardless of who one is, or how they're led to feel, so...we cry. For a million reasons, or for just one.
When I was just a baby, my parents would put on Coldplay songs to calm us, putting us to sleep every night. My dad loved them. He'd always put them on the TV, and I'd dance and sing to them. It would turn on on the radio during the car ride to school. This song was always my favorite. These songs show the love my dad had for us and I still seek comfort in them. Love Coldplay ❤
In 2003, my freshman year of college, I was rocking out to “Clocks” as I drove onto campus for the first time. “Nothing else compares” to that feeling of excitement and anticipation. Young with infinite possibilities. Whenever this song comes on I have a flashback to that day. I’m 33 now, but it makes me feel 18 again :)

Lyrics
The lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
Have brought me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead, singing
Come out of the things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head and a
Trouble that can't be named
A tiger's waiting to be tamed, singing
You are, you are
Confusion that never stops
The closing walls and the ticking clocks gonna
Come back and take you home
I could not stop, that you now know, singing
Come out upon my seas
Cursed missed opportunities am I
A part of the cure
Or am I part of the disease, singing
You are, you are
You are, you are
You are, you are
And nothing else compares
And nothing else compares
And nothing else compares
You are, you are
Home, home, where I wanted to go
Home, home, where I wanted to go
Home, home, where I wanted to go (You are)
Home, home, where I wanted to go (You are)

I was pulling into the driveway, not quite into the parking lot. I was blasting the piano of this. It was 0530.
3 respiratory therapists that i know and trust implicitly, and 2 coworkers from dietary who keep me fed- all jammed to this.
I then smiled, sans-mask-yet, and parked.
Saw those same RTs; saw my dietary peeps.

Crab stuffed fish. It. Was. Outstanding!

Wow, the same feeling
I call it "non-lived nostalgia". A Rush Of Blood To The Head, the album, gives me this feeling.

I first searched up oooo aaaa oooo . Ik silly but I found the original edit and looked for the song there
This is my favorite Coldplay song.

Sorry for your loss.
+Cesar Forero I too am sorry for your loss. Sadly there will be other losses for you. What a great memory for you! This is the most beautiful piano solo I have ever heard in my life. Definitely
One of the most beautiful songs ever. Straight ear candy.

The lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
Have brought me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead, singing
Come out of the things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head and a
Trouble that can't be named
A tiger's waiting to be tamed, singing
You are,
you are
Confusion that never stops
The closing walls and the ticking clocks gonna
Come back and take you home
I could not stop, that you now know, singing
Come out upon my seas
Cursed missed opportunities am I
A part of the cure
Or am I part of the disease, singing
You are,

You are,

You are,

And nothing else compares
And nothing else compares

Coldplay are the only band which can make you feel like you're in another world, they are lyrical and musical genius' and no matter how sad you may feel Coldplay are always there to cheer you up!:3
Agreed
Yes, that is true. But in my case there are other bands thake make me feel the same as you feel with coldplay, like Radiohead or Pink Floyd. I think it is the sound. Coldplay's sound is really impressive, fantastic, it fills the air with that reverb and that perfect similarities between the sound of each instrument and the voice of Chris Martin. Those epic keyboards in their songs.
PS: excuse my poor english.
Actually Coldplay has this vibe that makes you feel sad or that you're missing something. But at the same time it also makes you incredibly happy
