This, as well as the recruitment of Jyn Erso allows the Rebel Alliance to learn about the Death Start and the fact that the scientist Galen Erso placed a flaw in its designs. We love Star Wars, even though no Stars actually fight.
The death star does😁
LOL
True. We want STAR Wars, not Empire vs Rebels War!
Are you gonna cover battles from the Legends continuity as well (old expanded universe)?
You want stars fighting, you gotta go to Warhammer 40k, pretty sure the C'taan are kinda stars.
Battle of Scarif, though minor, would have a severe consequence for the Battle of Yavin, much like the minor Battle of the Coral Sea that proceeded to the Battle of Midway
Good comparison there. I was thinking the Battle of San Jacinto could also be classified as a minor battle that had far reaching effects on the future of the US.
@@johngolden3714 it really was just an ambush that just turned game endign movement because they managed to catch santana. Any other way would have had mexico probably stemarolling texas, like they did to the other state rebelliosn they had at the same time, but alas, history is like it is.
@@cseijifja that is true, as far as battles go it lasted all of 18 mins and involved just a little over two thousand folks all told. Probably would qualify more as a skirmish. Ambush though would probably be a misnomer as the Mexicans were fully aware of the Texans presence and had been skirmishing with them. They even fortified their position and got reinforcements. When no attack came, Santa Ana made a crucial mistake and dropped his guard and had the army take a nap. The rest, as they say, is history.
Thankfully the rebellion won there too
But one was real and this is fiction Lucus really does not know sh!t on tactics
Say what you want about Rogue One, it has the best executed space battle in any Star Wars film.
@@chamberlane2899 I've never seen anyone hate it, though I have seen people say it was mediocre or simply not good; RedLetterMedia being the most prominent example. The most common complains (which I share) are that the characters felt weakly developed and the film had an overall rushed feeling to it. I personally think it was a good film that could have been so much better.
@@chamberlane2899 I guess? I find people sometimes confuse hate and criticism.
@@chamberlane2899 Really? I didn't see any of those headlines.
The movie was fucken great why developed if they all died. Action was fucken amazing and loved it all the way
@@Livelaughandlaughmore Their deaths would have had more impact if they were better developed.
Honestly one of the best space battles in cinema history. My favorite part is that it is a real battle with tactics, action, reaction, and objectives. It isn’t just random explosions.
this is really important for me at this point in my life too. like, there is no excuse in the year of our lord, 2022 that movie writers can't ask somebody to help them make battles that have a smidge of tactical sense in them.
Absolutely my feelings precisely about this.
Is astonishing how many battle plans of the Rebel Alliance worked on: "We will think of something when we get there!"
This one was really scuffed. I think both timelines try to depict the rebellion to be full of various factions. It works well for the storytelling, but makes battles and the ultimate rebel victory a bit unrealistic
@@WizardsandWarriors i would push back on that with this quote: "plans never survive contact with the enemy" -helmut von moltke
star wars got insane plot armour since the first six movies came out.
@@WizardsandWarriors the force backs them up LOL
@@WizardsandWarriors I think the fact that their various factions often managed to unite when needed, and the fact that pretty much all the rebels were willing to die for the rebellion allowed them to win. That combined by the fact that even the empire wasn’t fully united due to several powerful admirals and figures having their own personal interests and beliefs.
Any hope for a Clone Wars episode? 🙏 - This was awesome!
That would be awesome ngl
I think we either have to finished the timeline of the Galactic Civil war first (which might take sometimes) or we might have Clone War content from time to time, just like how Kings & Generals does with multiple projects. Then again Wizards & Warriors are already busy with covering many franchises at the moment, still this is just my guess.
@@mr.bluefox3511 he needs to hire another Narrator
@@TheCaesarion this sound like a reasonable ideas to me ... although, i don't know how everyone else will think about this. It isn't as simple as you suggest.
Eh. The Clone Wars aren't good for this. The show struggles to present a coherent timeline that connects the various battles, or properly show the progress of the war on a large scale. It's just too confused and muddled to make much sense of.
The arrival of the fleet, and Lightmaker’s sacrifice were the best scenes of the film.
The last 40 or so minutes of the film was fantastic. I'd love to see more "War" like that in Star Wars.
That part with it pushing a star destroyer made no sense at all, and then vader's ship just demolishing another ship when he shows up just accentuates that even more.
@@Thouhand. well, the star destroyer are disable because the ion torpedoes From the Y Wing
@@Thouhand. if SD that got pushed was not moving, any amount of thrust would have made it move in zero gravity. Vaders SD on the other hand just exited hyperspace and presumably had a decent amount of velocity. Multiply that by the mass of the SD, and you get way more energy than the transport had.
@@mhb1323 So how would it get the momentum necessary to scythe through another one of equal size with that tiny ship pushing it. If you're going to say it boosted up to lightspeed or something, no, because it would have just pancaked itself and left a crater in the hull.
Battle of Scariff in R1 made me fall in love with the dogfights and spaceships of Star Wars all over again. It did a fantastic job of emulating the effects and combats seen in the OT and was sorely needed after decades of space wizards and laser swords.
IT was, for upmost, a star wars again, a military sci-fi where the Hero's take part in it but not plan it.
What I particularly enjoyed about the Battle of Scarif in Rogue One was that it was the first real strategic Science FIction battle I've seen in a film. I was aware of where all of the forces were in relation to each other and both sides had a strategic goal. It also had a significant use of tactics, and wasn't just a 100 ship tag-team wrestling match. (Rebels attacking many sites to simulate larger numbers, Bodie radioing the tower to misinform them, misdirection to get the plans, reinforcements to provide the infiltrators with air/ground support, use of ion torpedoes to disable a destroyer, a Hammerhead to cause a destroyer collision, etc.) Oh my..... it's beautiful.....
"Our galaxy has thankfully no space wars."
That we know of!
I had the same thought...
Exactly. For as long as humanity has a history, it's only going to get crazier. Brace yourselves
A long time ago in a part of this galaxy far away...
Operation: Solar Warden
there is a reason why there is this line at the beginning of every star wars movie, "in a galaxy far far away..."
nice
"Save the rebellion! Save the dream..." - Saw Gerrera
Dooon’t stop.. belieeeving! Hold on to that feeeeliiiing!!
Lies! Deception!
Guess he did Saw that coming
This documentary pretty much just drives home why "Rogue One" is the single greatest non-Saga "Star Wars" film ever created!
No Jedi
Very little Sith
Neither was necessary
Because "Rogue One," by itself, was a more than worthy "War Movie," which highlighted a critical stage in the "War of the Rebellion," while also brilliantly leading directly into "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope."
It even earns its name by far it's the most different star wars in the franchise(until Mando and solo came) it's not just the name of the group that went rouge in the story
Whatever faults Rogue One had, I always loved the setting of Scarif and the shield in particular, as well as the double theatre battle it created.
Wait, what? Faults? What faults?
The portrayal of the Battle of Scarif in Rouge One was epic.
Everytime
The only good Disney Star Wars movie.
@@eodyn7 nope
my favorite star wars movie, it captures the feel of the original star wars so much while keeping everything new, dramatic, and action-packed.
Same - mine too. I’ve watched it several times, it doesn’t get old. I’ve not read/listened to the screenplay or novel, but I feel like this is that rare story that can stand very well on its own with only a film format.
A lot of our sci-fi stories that are a part of our cultural heritage - Aliens (my favorite goes first:)), BSG 2004, SW, S Trek - are just SO complex they spin off countless stories and backstories and characters and plots, which is awesome, I love it.
But R1 IS one of those backstories. It’s like some kid uber fan went to film school, maybe created a fan film as an assignment, wrote a screenplay he kept in his back pocket, got scooped up by Lucasfilm…
These videos are the best breakdown videos I have seen from Star Wars Content Creators since RUclipss inception. The combination of the Star map, the digital battle breakdowns, and incorporation of key political moments and military decision making provides a complete picture to the viewer. I hope it increases interest into the Star Wars universe. Makes me want to play Star Wars: Empire At War mod created by CoreyLoses “Thrawn’s Revenge”. Might be a fun tool for you guys to utilize tool for footage.
Corey is the dude!
@@WizardsandWarriors it may be fun to use the mods for a battle breakdown in cinematic mode but it would be difficult to incorporate potentially. Just food for thought.
My grandson will fight in this battle
What's his side? Empire or Rebels?
If he's on the Rebel Side, did he ever fights Darth Vader in the final scene of Rogue One?
If he's on the Empire... how did he survive that battle?
In my head we live in the post-apocalypse of the Star Wars ("A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.…")
How is this comment 11 hours old or is it a glitch on my phone
@@Ifhdhudbdbdbdididuh I agree with ya.
@@Ifhdhudbdbdbdididuh I think the cold war channel is also run by the same people so probably the comment was posted while the video was still unlisted / not public
The accuracy and aesthetics of this episode are thoroughly impressive. Worthy of recognition in the archives of the Jedi Order. Particularly, the correction of planetary names is most commendable. However, I find the continued misspelling of 'Malastare' as 'Malastere' disturbing. This is Darth Grammar Error, and I hope you'll catch it on the next one!
Everything would be an Imperial victory had that one officer on an ISD ordered to destroy an escape pod that contain a Death Star plan
This series is like Military Channel quality documentaries. You remember the show Shootout where they used cgi to remake battlefields and units? Reminds me of that
Rouge One is easily the best disney star wars production, by far. The entire crew from the director, the writers and the actors, respected Star Wars lore, didn't antagonize the fans and actually gave us great characters (and genuinely good diverse ones). Not surprised it was a one-off but glad it exists compared to the other trash disney made.
Lets all give a round of applause to the animators.
I love anything Star Wars related. But have you people ever considered doing video's on battles from the Star Trek Universe. I would love to see a video about the Dominion War. My compliments to all those who made this video a reality.
My grandfather was just little when this battle happen he would always tell me about how he saw his father (my great grandfather) left to fight for the Empire.
Now I can’t wait for the Battle of Yavin, Battle of Hoth, and of course the introduction of Obi Wan, Luke, Leia, Han, and Cheewie.
I'm a huge star wars fan so I'm excited for the series
Ideas:
History of the Asari ( Mass Effect)
The hundred year war ( Avatar the last air bender)

Operation 21st (Muv Luv Alternative)
The siege of Vrakks (WH40K)
Second Battle of Alnus Hill (Gate: Thus the self defence force fought there)
The second battle of Genosis (Star wars the clone wars)
The Battle of Astate (legend of Galactic heroes the new thesis)
The Earth-Minbari war (Babylon 5)
The Black Rebellion (Code Geass)

The One year war (UC gundam)

Was just watching the Pacific raiding video on Kings and Generals and when I finished watching that was notified of two more videos on both channels dropping. Today is a good day
This is quickly becoming my favorite K&G channels content. Awesome
From Kings and General to here I love the content!
I'm so pleased to see a video from you about the tactical details of my favorite Star Wars film, and was very impressed with the animation. The destroyer collision in particular was amazing work!
You folks never cease to amaze me. From the wars of the ancient world to sci-fi now. The visuals are wonderful and the analysis insightful. Please keep up the great work!
Battle of Scarif was perfect. The only thing missing was a random officer saying “We lost communication with Command post #5!”
Using one ISD to cut another in half, has to be one of the smartest moves in space combat in all sci fi
The animations were amazing
I would love to see battles from Halo, especially with how engaging your space battles are broken down and depicted. It would be awesome to see UNSC ships battling Covenant cruisers, interspersed with the icons of Marines and Covies battling over Reach/Harvest/Earth, etc.
MY MAN! I'd be stoked if they'd cover anything from Halo!
*Ignores advice and enters cantina* I'll take some deathsticks, please. *cantina bartender gives me deathsticks*
Meanwhile, Republic Commando: "I don't allow deathsticks, but I don't say no to bacta. Bacta! Bacta! Gimme Bacta! Come on! Need bacta! *Bacta Dispenser hisses while commando takes bacta*
This format for a Fantasy Warhammer battle would be amazing.
super awsome, the map was also very clear!
A full series about all the battles in the anime Legend of the Galactic Heroes (either version) would be awesome. Most of them even have the tactics explained during the battle.
ROGUE ONE - the first STAR WARS war movie and easily the best battle of them all.
Now I'm excited to hear "Imperial ay ay class star destroyer" in future episodes.
Holy crap i did not know Kings and Generals did this, love Star Wars and Kings and Generals. There goes my Saturday night.
I just found this channel. AMAZING. I LOVE it! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
I really like the animations used in this video, especially when the ships collided with each other lol. Great video!
Whoever animated this deserves a pay raise!
If you have so-called "plot armor" that prevents a continuing character in a story from dying too soon, Rogue One's major characters are doomed to die in the script because of a short line of dialog ("Many Bothans died to transmit this information...") before the final battle in "Star Wars IV - A New Hope."
Anyway, kudos to the Wizards and Warriors team for a well-executed space battle scene animation.
One of the best Star Wars movies
Very well done, i was going to watch this today thanks for the reminder, thus is by far the most Underrated star wars movie.
One of if not the best on-screen battles in all of Star Wars. I genuinely didn't see it coming and didn't realize how much had happened by the time it was over, and yet at no moment was I confused or lost as to what was going on at every level.
Leia: I have the Death Star plans! Darth Vader: Bad girl you got time out!
The graphics of this one are epic!
"Kyber crystal power problem" is a helluva tongue twister. Nicely pulled off!
Great work, especially on the battle.
One of the few things disney star wars has done really well was making the plothole of the exhaust port be intentionally placed by Galen
Excellent video! I love looking at these early battles and the ramshackle Rebel fleet pulling off the impossible. I'd like to see a video on the Battle of Nar Shaddaa (3 BBY). A smuggler coalition fleet takes on a second-tier Imperial fleet.
Loving this series and channel so far. Stargate, Expanse & Babylon 5 series maybe?
I hope you guys cover the Clone War campaigns on Ryloth and Umbara.
I like Rogue One quite a bit. Plus, kinda helps that Jyn Erso is in it 😍😍😍
This is so well animated, as a star wars fan, this is a dream come true.
As Elton John once stated in his rock epic, Saturday Night's Alright (for fighting) "Don't give us none of your aggravation. The rebels have the Death Star plans."
Awesome videos!!
If any I would advise Cover the Narnia’s Battle, From the first and second movie are absolute Legends
We had to wait so long but after endor we got finally a good space battle!
Even though I have abandoned the star wars franchise but these videos are awesome. I hope you will cover the warahmmer 40k universe like first, second, and third wars of Helsreach, Istavaan III dropsite massacre, or the Seige of Terra.
For the Rebellion!! Great video btw 💜
"FOR JEDHA!!!" - Heroes of the Rebellion on Scarif.
Amazing video! More Star Wars please!
You should do some legends timeline battles here on this channel, there’s a lot more and a lot higher quality than in the disney timeline
This just made my day. Hope to see more like this in the future. Great work
I really like Rogue One and Darth Vaders corridor of horror scene at the end of the movie is one of favorite Star Wars sequences to date
This video was Awesome! Please keep them coming! I can not say enough good things about this! I will tell everybody to watch this channel.
Thanks for doing this, I was so looking forward to it. Surprisingly good animatics accompany.
Would like to see some coverage of the main forces and equipment both sides had at their disposal. Just the basic information.
Also, just awesome all around!
Would you a Star Trek war and all that stuff in the future?, Star Trek universe looks also so interesting. Thank you for the video, a masterpiece.
this was fricking awesome!
Love the series of Star Wars, The Witcher and LOTR!!! hopefully in the near future there will be a series about Battlestar Galactica!!^^ Love to see the Adama manouvre on screen ^^
Long live the Empire! No matter what plot-armors for the rebell-scums, the Empire was the best thing that happened in this Galaxy.
@Son 0f Jack Lets not forget Tarkin, it was his Tarkin Doctrine which wanted the very Death Stars which began the collapse of the Empire.
such a cool battle
I really like that you kept a similar format to the videos on your other channel. I like it. 😀
Any hopes for a future Foudation Saga related video?
BTW, Great job! Continue so! 🙌🏻
Incredible detail in your videos. Fantastic work.
the star wars series need people who have read canon or legends books
the amount of tactics and fascinating battles we have in legends or in new thrawn books is insane
Do geonosis or hoth please! Love this stuff , thank you!
Great animation Documentary i like to see more of star wars lore this is the way.
These animations need to be done for the clone wars battles and legends Canon.
for me the main flaw of imperial doctrine is it being arround fear, because that can be overcome, and when your fleet is run by cowards then the minuscule setback can cause chaos, in contrast with the republic's doctrine that was pride, clones were proudly defending the republic, so even in face of death had courage, same with the jedi, so they were superior due to basic doctrines
"Corvette Five, locked on target! Prepare for impact!"

the animations are absolutely amazing wow ! thank you !!
As usual beautiful video and excellent work. Looking forward to more of your content
I absolutely love these videos. I feel like Dune and Mad Max, both The Road Warrior and Fury Road would be awesome picks for this series!
Wow, that was just awesome! Great job! Can't wait to see what comes out next!
Great stuff, many thanks 👏
Can't wait for your version of the Battle of Endor :)
I love all of your videos always have but I do prefer the general summary of the history rather than a detailed descriptive a single battle
You can make a series about the Expanse
Love these! So happy you guys made this channel
"Are we blind!? Deploy the garrison!" - Orson Krennic
You should do the Fall of Reach
nice animations on scarif
