3:28 Grand Admiral Teshik's story is really cool. He is considered one of, if not the least 'evil' of the Grand Admirals (similar to Thrawn) and was actually a compassionate guy. He simply was in the wrong place at the wrong time being a high ranking imperial who survived Endor and the rebels were feeling particularly ruthless that day so they had him executed. It would have been interesting to have seen what would have happened if Teshik retreated or surrendered that day. Perhaps he would have joined up with Pellaon and helped the New Republic fight the Yuuzhan Vong.

I personally think the Rakata and the tionese are the most interesting civilizations of the pre Republic era. I like the history of the Tionese and I hope their culture is explored as its distinct from the core.
On the Gree: How did neither the Creators or Researchers not know how to operate the technologies they created? It makes no sense that only the Operators would have that knowledge because they would have had to get that knowlege from the Researchers and Creators to begin with when they created the tech.
Same way that no one actually knows how Hyperdrives function, they just kinda work and everyone in Star Wars just knows what they're supposed to look and act like. I think Halo also has something similar going on with Slipspace Drives, where most ordinary people don't even know that a Slipspace Drive can be mounted improperly, which is what leads to events like the destruction of the Covenant Supercarrier in Halo: Reach
@@ChrisVillagomez there are several cultures that independently developed hyperspace tech, like the Camasi, and comoletely understand how their hyperdrives work. The only time when you have people using hyperdrives they dont understand is cultures that got hyperdrives from another culture without developing their own, like the peoples that got their hyperdrives when the Rakata Empire fell. But that isnt the case for the Gree. They developed all of their own technology, then the people that built them(the Creators) inexplicably forgot how they work while actively developing and producing them but the people they're giving them to(the Operators) know how to use them. That does not make sense regardless of how you slice it.
@@azidal3755 Even if its just the OS that the other Gree supposedly couldnt understand, the Creators would have had to invent that music based system, integrate it into all of their tech, and then teach the Operators how to use it. And during that whole process, the Researchers would be doing all of the R&D on everything scientific before it gets put into production, meaning that they would have an understanding of the base scientific and mathematical concepts even before the Creators could use them to make new technology with. The only way it could work out with the Operators having all the knowledge is if the Researchers and Creators had their minds blanked out after each time they invent something.

@cliffdavidson5096 Eh, I think it messes with continuity too much. It feels weird to have tons of really dark gritty stories and have the fricking Holiday Special exist in the same continuity. I don't understand why the Holiday Special wasn't just completely wiped out and why the EU tried to include it.
The Je Dai: "Balance is when opposing forces are held at equal strength to maintain equilibrium." The Jedi: "Balance is when everything is weighted to one side, and that side just so happens to be our side." Yeah, Im pretty sure based on how hard the Jedi failed and the galaxy eventually being saved from the Vong by the Mandalorians(who are undoubtedly Darkside leaning in their philosophy), the Jedi were the ones that got it wrong. Also, the existence of The Bendu(the being, not the concept) kinda proves that the Je Dai philosophy is real. He is literally a physical embodiment of a concept within the Force that is strong enough to call itself into existence. He is the proof that He exists.
If the dark side was as dangerous as they claimed, Je'daii would have fallen from the first moment they tried to use it. Why you'd use the enemies weapons is beyond me. I'd be like get those to the temple of knowledge, I want a light side version created pronto. Wouldn't be surprised if the Rokata let the Je'daii capture and use them just to unbalance them. Maybe they were hoping they'd turn on each other or certain factions would help, but like the Sith on Korriban, it failed. I still notice that there were no Force wars until after the Rokata so again, if balance was impossible, they would have destroyed themselves long before. The dark side is insidious and corrupting, I won't deny that. The emotions of the Force echoe back to the user so I'd say you should be disciplined before you touch the dark side and make sure the person doesn't have some traumatic past the dark side is feeding on and that includes secrets.
The Grey Swallowing / Faceless Mouths sounds like a nanoweapon; a wave of self-replicating nanobots that consume everything in their path to create more of themselves, like a world-consuming virus. Sounds right up the Rakattans' alley.

The Ithorians might be able to figure it out given their mastery of terraforming.
Like the Valar of Arda and a whole lotta gods in Earth's myths and religions, the Celestials have got a whole lotta things to answer for. There are some things I like that Disney has made. However, Disney will never surpass the wealth of knowledge for Star Wars that exists in the OG canon
Urgh, the early history of Coruscant is a mess. The Taung being exiled pre-hyperdrive would mean slower-than-light ships, either sleeper ships, or generation ships, but either way it would take centuries, if not millenia, to get anywhere. As for the place being a ecumenopolis that early, where were they getting the materials needed to build the city? How did they feed that many people? And how did they keep from all cooking?

Funny enough humans were in modern stasis in 60 k years according to legends. They became "modern" 90 k years ago and "only" developed sleeper ships 27 k years ago ish
Still waiting for you to explain in what way the Je'daii and Kwa "misunderstood" what balance means... all you've done is show that while they where in balance (studying light and dark) everything was good and you give examples of what could happen if someone goes too far off balance. Your view is also very tinted by your own belief.
Yeah, but all predating the Disney canon. It's in various guides, encyclopedia, other reference books, comics, mentions in novels, TheOldRepublic/ KotOR games and the old Star Wars website that is now archived in part. Could be possible a bit of it still exists on the new website as articles. You could look at Wookipedia for the era list and its subevents, there you have source and reference lists.
"the worlds most transparent vpn" ...so im betting they are based on a country that requires them to keep records of their users activities like most countries require of vpn services
Seriously Geetsly's, explain using logical reasoning. Not retcon heavy claims to simplify things, as by even discussing these factors at any level you're not buying into canon. How were the Je'dai incorrect in their take on balance? Remember, Lucas had plenty of say and oversight on how the multitude of force cults and their views developed. Just because he did a complete 180 while the Clone Wars TV show was being made doesn't actually invalidate legitimately thought out notions. So logically explain precisely how light side only is balanced. Remember, nature would clearly disagree, even by the current standards of the franchise. You need a middle ground. Which is where most of the universe would, and does, exist. So read up, study philosophy and give a legitimate argument for why balance necessitates eradicating any competing ideology. Because it's just as wrong morally, ethically and even in the force when the jedi commit genocide. I've never heard that position make sense. So yeah, no citing Lucas or Disney. Use logic.
How does anyone argue that you need to balance the two "sides" of the force, because there are no sides to the force there is the light side the will of the Force and the dark side the manipulation and disruption of the will of the Force. It's also a disrespectful disregard of George Luca's vision,he made the sith a order of evil and misguided people. You can't make the argument that both "sides" of the force exist together without being dishonest about the history of the star wars galaxy, when the Jedi order went soft on the sith and didn't kill Ajunta Paul and his followers, the sith arrived on Corriban reformed themselves and after multiple generations attacked the republic. The ahnialation of Alderaan, glassing of Tilos IV, Mon Cala genocide, the destruction of Ossis... we're all doings of sith empires. Not to mention the Dark lords of the sith, Naga Sadow,Freedon Nad,Marka Ragnos etc we're all power hungry dictators, Vitiate was a madman and megalomaniac who wanted to become immortal and destroy all life in the galaxy, Nihlius who was a walking wound in the force, Treya who wanted to destroy the force, Palpatine who wanted to conquer an inater universe etc... Edit: There also the cannibalistic, slave masters and brutal conquerers known as the Rakata who relied on the Dark side of the force to operate their technology.
@@nikola7211 I have to question your comprehension here. It is not disrespectful to disregard afterthought reconsiderations of a man who cleared the creation and exploration of a nuanced force. He only decided to voice his opposition to points he had allowed, even supported and since the projects all answered to him directly, after Filoni had already set about disregarding the work of dozens of others. And don't try to use dark side crimes to show how black and white evil is. Remember, Jedi committed several genocides. They cleansed entire sectors of space, almost entirely wiping out sentient life after the hyperspace war. Launched pre-emptive strikes to not only wipe out the Ubese, but literally do so using nuclear ordinance. A crime only properly seen one other time when the Neo-Crusaders did such to Serroco. Aside from that, if you buy into the tortured logic, and blatant disrespect of a plethora of other media depictions they also did the same to Mandalore. An atrocity committed not just with Jedi support, but their outright leadership. And then a short while later they used a slave army of Mando troopers. Light and Dark are aspects. The force is, inherently nuanced. Otherwise there wouldn't be naturally occurring nexus points associated with both aspects. Points which exist in the hundreds, if not thousands. Aside from this, there are also a large number of varied and much more relaxed force cults which don't buy into the same dichotomy. Pure dogmatic devotion to any ideal is always inherently an issue. If your devotion to your chosen aspect discourages all thought, and doesn't allow for questioning then you're in a cult that is only going to cause problems.
Logically, yes, there will likely always be a “dark” or “negative” force in nature George’s entire take on why the Light needs to drive out the force and why the Light IS ultimately the goal/balance is because it mainly applies to us as humans. As beings of “high intelligence”, we have the choice each day to choose our path to “peace”. You can be incredibly kind and compassionate, but also brash and violent. There is a middle ground, yes….but ultimately, most may agree that if you can get to “peace” using the compassion/kind manner, that is much more desirable. This is of course an idea implanted by other philosophies, as not all follow such a path. Tho the idea that being all Light is the goal is a somewhat canon explanation from George himself as stated by Ahmed Best(JarJar). He said this in an interview, so I take it with grain of salt but ultimately choose George’s statement over actual logic. Logically we all know one cannot be “all good” or “all evil”. This also cannot apply to the actual universe/reality, as reality doesn’t care or have feelings about being good or evil. It just is. Though despite this, I personally would love to try and live life as peacefully as possible without giving into some darker/negative emotions…unfortunately this is not healthy as per the current state of human nature. Not sure if that can even apply in the Star Wars universe, but I’m also not a force sensitive jedi monk sooo can’t really compare 😅🤷🏾♂️
Also to your point about the history of the Jedi being okay with mass murder/exile, this is something I think in retrospect we can’t give too much thought. It’s very obvious the Jedi and even early iterations of the order were too dogmatic…similar to the Sith when they got established. Too much of a thing will likely always lead to some kind of undesirable situation.
@@alexhudson277And yet you failed to mention my last point about the kind of people created by the sith, at worst the Jedi: A Fell to the Dark side B Were wrong about their understanding of the force Or C Were as'holes While the sith at best were normal-ish people who were manipulated and did bad things like Anakin, or gigachads like Darth Mar. Or at worst were genocidel madman like Vitiate, Palpatine, Nihlius, Treya and Kan

An even longer time ago in the galaxy far, far, away
The algorithm... me here , it brought 😂
I thought there were no cardinal directions in space.
Xim the Despot Empire looks the best
Will smugler talles be continued?
Starwars right after the big bang. Nice..
@24:50, ??? Not Star Wars at all. That's a Collector ship from Mass Effect. How'd that find its way from the Milky Way to the Star Wars galaxy?
Funny enough humans were in modern stasis in 60 k years according to legends. They became "modern" 90 k years ago and "only" developed sleeper ships 27 k years ago ish
Still waiting for you to explain in what way the Je'daii and Kwa "misunderstood" what balance means... all you've done is show that while they where in balance (studying light and dark) everything was good and you give examples of what could happen if someone goes too far off balance.
Your view is also very tinted by your own belief.
Celestials: NOOOO WE ARE FORCE GODS WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO RULE THE GALAXY!!
Rakata: Haha genoicide go brrrr.
Listen at 1.5 speed
Did they call him Invader Zim?
Are there sources for this information, is there bibliography?
Yeah, but all predating the Disney canon.
It's in various guides, encyclopedia, other reference books, comics, mentions in novels, TheOldRepublic/ KotOR games and the old Star Wars website that is now archived in part. Could be possible a bit of it still exists on the new website as articles.
You could look at Wookipedia for the era list and its subevents, there you have source and reference lists.
1.2 speed folks.
So it's set long ago obv another galaxy wonder where they'd be right about now....🤔
Infuriating that we can't get pre disney SW content without all the retcons forcefully crammed Into everything.
Edit:
There also the cannibalistic, slave masters and brutal conquerers known as the Rakata who relied on the Dark side of the force to operate their technology.
Logically, yes, there will likely always be a “dark” or “negative” force in nature
George’s entire take on why the Light needs to drive out the force and why the Light IS ultimately the goal/balance is because it mainly applies to us as humans.
@@alexhudson277And yet you failed to mention my last point about the kind of people created by the sith, at worst the Jedi:
A Fell to the Dark side
B Were wrong about their understanding of the force
Or C Were as'holes
While the sith at best were normal-ish people who were manipulated and did bad things like Anakin, or gigachads like Darth Mar.
Or at worst were genocidel madman like Vitiate, Palpatine, Nihlius, Treya and Kan
👍
