"My first day as a member of the 501st... it was hot, it was sandy, chaotic. Nothing at all like the simulations on Kamino. Of course, that's pretty much the way it was for all of us, wasn't it? All that breeding, all those years of training... it doesn't really prepare you for all the screaming or the blood, does it? Frankly, I'm still amazed we ever made it through the first hour, never mind the first day." "Incredibly, the 501st survived the crucible of Geonosis, emerging battle-hardened, and ready for whatever the war would throw at us."
"In the waning months of the Clone Wars, the 501st faced missions critical to the agenda of Chancellor Palpatine. When we arrived at the bombed out ruins of Mygeeto, our Jedi commander believed we had been sent to take out a droid energy collector. What Ki-Adi-Mundi didn't know however was that our unit of the 501st was really after an experimental Mygeetan power source, that the Chancellor wanted for his superlaser. Keeping Mundi in the dark wasn't easy; the Jedi had become increasingly wary of the Chancellor's doings, and was on the lookout for the slightest hint of treachery. Just like the rest of them though, he never caught whiff of what was really going on, until it was far too late. The success of the mission on Mygeeto was something of a revelation for the men of the 501st. Suddenly, we realized that the Jedi could be fooled. And if they could be fooled, they could be killed"
It's so cool seeing a zoomed out, historical view of the battles we see in real time during the movies and TV shows! Looking forward to more Star Wars videos on this channel!
Better late than never. Thank you for finally covering the Clones Wars on this channel! I've been waiting for this for the very long time! P.S: Count Dooku sabotaged the First Battle of Geonosis on purpose in order to make the Republic looked good just as his Master desired despite the fact that the Battle Droids outnumbered the clones and the Jedi were leading their troops into what basically was the suicidal frontal assault. P.P.S: The Jedi never take children from their parents without the consents of the parents in the first place.
War has come to the galaxy... The Republic's secret weapon, a massive clone army, is deployed for the first time against the Separtist droid forces. Far above the carnage, the Elite commandos of Delta squadron prepare for their first mission. Zero hour - Clone Wars- Geonosis.
Wonderful video! I love the unbiased perspective from both sides. The CIS often get overly villainized due to our perspective being primarily Jedi centric, but the vast majority of Independent Systems just wanted freedom - and reasoned better odds with biased and greedy corporations, than with a corrupt Republic that would not let them leave, and had no straightforward and direct levers such as corporate greed to effect change. In essence, the choice between hoping your vote will be heard in 2-3 years, or just bribing the watchman now. The only thing I disagree with, is that the Jedi did not kidnap padiwans. While there may have been some who came to regret joining the order, or sending their children away - all memberships were voluntary, to stay and to leave - and it was considered a good path to a healthy life for many who were in poor sectors, or enslaved.
The only problem is that taking infants or toddlers into the Jedi order deprived them of their right to choose to become Jedi. The Jedi also forgot that having attachments isn’t a bad thing as long as one learns to manage them in a healthy way. Without any attachments the Jedi became far too detached and far less compassionate towards others. Qui Gon was the last true Jedi (until Luke) because he understood that Jedi are supposed to care and love, and he let the force guide him not a corrupt government body. Also the Jedi had become too dogmatic, rigid, and too subservient to the republic.
It was great that later works established that the CIS did have legit grievances against the republic, though it was unfortunate they ended up being sith playthings too.
@jmwilliamsart The right to choose is earned, not given at birth. Saying a toddler is deprived of their right to choose to become a Jedi is like saying a toddler is deprived of their right to not go to school. That's a choice it would be uncaring and unkind to give them so early in life without any experience. They can choose when they come of age, and until that time they receive a galaxy-class education; remember the youngling that helped Obi-Wan was in the middle of learning stellar cartography.
Makes sense, I think most of the older generation just watched it for the pew pew, since lazers were such a new thing... the only politics in the old episodes (ep 4,5,6) was Leia asking help in that message, Empire telling Leia they gonna blow up planets until she tells where the rebel base is, and at the very end where Sidious says "Join me" or something to that extent.
it's my absolute favorite part of them, but I think a lot of people hate the prequels because they grew up with the originals. If someone didn't grow up with Star Wars or they weren't a die hard fan I bet their opinion would be vastly different. They certainly have their flaws
The complaints about the prequel politics always felt overblown and overlooked the fact that it was the presentation and application that was the issue. Politics can definitely work in sci-fi, just look at Gundam.
This is an immense undertaking. This effort is profitable! The shroud of the dark side has fallen. Begun, the Wizards and Warriors coverage of the Clone Wars has.
YESS!!! The Clone Wars is one of my favorite eras of history in the Star Wars universe!! I love how you opened it up and then went to the 1st Battle of Geonosis! I love the Jedi but sadly yes they lost their way and allowed the corruption of the Republic fester into their dogma and policies. I wish they had changed over the 1000 years like the Sith did but they became stagnant and unwilling to budge on their ideals. It seemed they were fighting the last war instead of preparing for future conflicts if one did arise which the Clone Wars did in 22 BBY.
A war may have been inevitable, but it is clear that the Sith had considerable influence in determining the compositions and conduct of the main actors so as to best suit their own Grand Plan.

Seems kind of wild and completely universe shattering that individual planets can just set up factories to mass produce armies so large that they’re capable of waging war on a galactic scale. Never heard anybody even so much as bring it up in regard to Star Wars tho.
Yeah, a planet being capable of that better be out of sight of powerful external authorities/regulators, also must have enormous amounts of resources & industrial capacity, and must also have a slave/hivemind-like or super-united population to run production/logistics to such a scale. A planet like Geonosis is definitely ideal for that, but even the countless of planets that have the potential of doing so must have all those factors on their side to pull it off.
Though I don't expect it, it would be amazing if you guys included the Old Cannon timeline in this series like the whole Hunt for the Decimator, Dark Reaper Crisis, Battle of Hypori, (especially the) Battle of Jabiim, and so on.
Oh man I have been waiting for y’all to do this since the Galactic Civil War series. Also great to finally have a reliable channel, give us some chronology and scale for the canon events.

Hey guys, just reminding you that the Legacy of Kain series could really use the Wizards and Warriors treatment. Hopefully looking forward to it in the future.
Enjoyed the episode. For the much later part can you use the book Dark Disciple. It's a book based on UN made series arc of Clone Wars. Follows quinlin Voss and Ventress trying to kill Count Dooku. Set following dooku betrayal of ventress by destroying her flagship. Also involves a young Boba Fett and the rest of the bounty hunters from the ventress arc boosk Dengar the robot ect. From the train line episode. There is also another UN produced episode son of dathomir its a comic and shows what happened after Darth Sidious and maul faught on Mandalor. That's also later towards the end of the war. I'd love if you could research these clone wars unfinished season arcs . And if you can do a video based on the continuation of Darth Maul Arc before the order 66 episodes in the story. Grievous vs maul and Mother Talzin vs Darth Siduous. Sorry for long message hope it comes later in the series. Thanks again. I own every book pre The Farce Awakens. The yuzzung vong war would be a pleasure to watch can.
And there it goes. Look. This is one of the series I expected to see the most, and I love it's finally coming out. Doing a great job so far. You had most of this stuff right. But then... Then you had to muddle things with obvious Republic propaganda. The Sith? Really? We all know that by this point in time they are nothing more than a conveniente fairy tale the Jedi use to excuse their actions. I mean, the fact that you even fall in the lie of accusing Count Dooku of being one, of the conspiracy theory of them being the real culprits of the war, and maybe even worse, of Dooku dilapidating the democratic foundations of the CIS from the start, is preposterous. For all it's flaws, and as much as you like to make it look as if they were under the control of the big corporations of the galaxy, the Separatist senate never gave a seat to those oligarchs. Unlike the Republic tended to do. Planetary systems on the CIS had more freedom to act as they wanted, without constant pressure of richer systems and an overly complex burocracy pulling them down. The facts are, entrepreneurship on planets like Zygerria grew a lot more under the Separatists that it did under the Republic, that constantly bogged them down with unnecessary regulations. You might even accuse them of promoting systems like slavery, when there is no concrete evidence of that, as even later Imperial scholars demonstrated. So don't get confused. The secession of the CIS wasn't about corporate greed, as those revisionist Republicans like to paint it as. It was about planetary systems rights! Rights to self-rule, self-determination, and to own property.
Welp at least we know that in whether in fiction or realities, documentaries will rarely, if ever, truly be a neutral perspective on their subjects or topics because their own creators have their own biases and preferences.
Thank you for making videos about the Star Wars Universe. I've noticed one mistake: Raxus is located in a wrong place. It should be to the North of the Hutt Space, near the Perlemian Trade Route, while on your map it's to the South of the Hutt Space. Also, I hope you'll cover events that exist only in the Expanded Universe, such as the battle of Jabiim and operation Durge's Lance.
What I missed is how the Jedi, unused to command and the abillities of their troops used the famed clone commando's as frontline troops, causing eyewatering casualties and a huge shortage in the Grand Army of the Republics elite. It also embittered the training cadre on Kamino to whom most commandos where almost as close as children.
"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word."
I didn't fully realize how important the fact that Palpatine was the Naboo-senator at the time, probably was for his election into office Btw at places like 10:19, it would be useful to have like a coloured background around the planets of various factions, to make it easier to distinguish what is Republic space, what is Separatist space etc. Just a tip from a graphic designer :)
Wizards and Warrior's lawyer here, please disregard the recommendation of consuming death sticks. This channel and its proprietors do not advocate death sticks, and as a reminder there is a public health warning printed prominently on every packet of death sticks.
Jar Jar, in complete contrast to Naboo's position of peace, granted emergency powers to Chancellor Palpatine which allowed him to take over the galaxy. Another point to the Darth Jar Jar theory.
