Thanks for the doco, guys. I appreciate the time and effort that you all put into this monster video! I only managed 6 minutes, though; I'd prefer to wait until you're able to release a purely canon version of the timeline. Of course, I understand and can appreciate that this may never be possible for the channel because of time constraints and resources, but I live in hope of seeing the proper and original timeline of events... you know, before Disney came along and, in their hubris, thought that it was up to them to decide what is and isn't canonical in Star Wars. I gave the video a like, despite not finishing it, because I do appreciate the work you put in. Once again, thanks.
I have an issue with alphabet squadron and vanguard for that matter. Both use mixed fighter Squadrons. This is a bigger deal than people know. There is a reason this isnt done. Each fighter type has its strengths and weaknesses, an A wing is fast but frail its survival depnds on not getting hit. So it has to fly as fast as it can. But breaking formation means you get shot down first because you dont have a wintmate protecting you. So all fighters in a squadron have to fly as slow as its slowest member. That would be the Y or B wing, both having thick shields to cover for this slow speed. It just doesnt work. Plus each fighter is good at pretty much one thing. B wing is a capital ship striker, Y wing is a bomber and the A wing is an interceptor. The benefit of having a mixed fighter squadron is outweighted by just sending Squadrons of the types you need. Need to strike a Star Destroyer? Send B wings with an X or A wing escort. Both of full Squadrons and just their own kind.
Some much-much-needed complexity was mercifully reintroduced in Andor. I believe we owe that to Tony Gilroy not being a Star Wars superfan - he's actually capable of thinking and writing beyond one's info bubble. The political/family drama of Mon Mothma and the thrilling Luthen Rael subplot were some of the best pieces of sci-fi to be found in recent decades. Shame so many "fans" immediately hated it and declared it a borefest just because there wasn't an action scene every 15 minutes.
@@mateuszjokiel2813Andor is so good. I love the politics they show and the cat and mouse game they are playing not to mention they make the Empire actually scary. It’s wild how people have overused the term plot armor to the point of meaninglessness. It’s not plot armor to overcome a difficult circumstance with a reason. “We’re a special forces team and used cover and our shooting skills to come out of an ambush unharmed” isn’t plot armor for instance. It’s plot armor to not die in a situation you’d definitely otherwise die in with no logical, in universe reason at all.

I do have some more info for you. Iden Versio, Commander of Inferno Squad, was born on the Imperial planet of Vardos and daughter of Admiral Garrick Versio, commander of the Star Destroyer Eviscerator. Her squad was a special forces unit for the Empire, small in size though it may be, operating out of the Imperial Raider-class corvette, the Corvus, and consisting of Iden, her ID10 droid "Dio", and Agents Gideon Hask and Del Meeko. Together they did damage to the Rebels everywhere they went. Iden even resisted an interrogation aboard the Mon Calamari Security Cruiser, Invincible Faith, which might have otherwise given the information to the Rebels about the Imperial Fleet that trapped them at Endor. Inferno Squad was unshakeable until the Battle of Endor when the second Death Star was destroyed. They retreated, with Garrick Versio being one of the many people who received the Messenger Droids of the Emperor that ordered them to begin Operation Cinder. Moff Derrek Raythe of the Star Destroyer Dauntless was one of the ships who carried the special satellites to execute the operation, being defended by Inferno Squad from a Rebel attack on the Fondor Shipyards. Unfortunately for the Empire, keeping the target of Operation Cinder a secret from Iden Versio cost them Inferno Squad. Vardos, her home planet, was a target planet, among other Imperial worlds. Iden and Del, disgusted by the willing sacrifice of Imperial citizens for the mission, defect from the Empire along with the entire Corvus crew, with Hask remaining loyal, being promoted to Commander by Admiral Versio himself. The Corvus then turns itself over to the Rebels aboard the Star Cruiser Restoration under General Lando Calrissian, with Duros, Shriv Suurgav, one of the liberators of Sullust, evaluating them in a way by having Iden and Del join his Danger Squadron for a mission to stop Operation Cinder on Naboo, meeting Leia Organa and destroying the Star Destroyer Torment of Captain Lerr Duvat in the process. Months after that, now joined by Shriv, Inferno Squad directive turns to chasing the Imperial Fleet of Garrick Versio, conducting operations on Bespin and Sullust, as well as retrieving General Han Solo and former Imperial Specialist Ralsius Paldora from Takodana. Finally, Del, Iden, and Shriv participate in the Battle of Jakku, helping wherever they can with the ground assault, disrupting TIE bomber assaults and evacuating ground troops with the help of orbital strikes from the third Starhawk, the Unity. The Admiral Garrick Versio's Eviscerator goes down in the battle, with Iden's father going down with the Star Destroyer. When the battle ends, Iden and Del become a couple and have a daughter named Zay. I hope you appreciate the enlightenment as I couldn't resist adding on to this presentation.
Aside from losing Thrawn, imagine if Vader had a personal Tie Defender at the Battle of Yavin. Not sure if Tarkin would’ve allowed Thrawn’s input at Yavin, but Vader would definitely have those Tie Defenders.
Vader straight solo’d an army and it’s air support while dropping one of the sickest lines in SW. When I was young I wan’ts scared of Vader because big scary bad guy isn’t so scary being beaten by the good guys, now knowing legends I can certainly respect the absolute terror he causes
Fair but I think u can view this as WW2 kamikaze, all the armies could do it but it wasn mostly practiced by the Japanese army. So perhaps the resources it would take to get a new fleet or ship makes it unrealistic on the logistic end then what we see.

I would love to see you guys do a series on the Jedi civil war or even the war waged between the old republic and the sith empire
LFG! Just found your channel and I love the long form lore videos like this and the Dragon Age one.
Palpatine is getting nervous at the news of growing rebellions. He calls for Admiral Thrawn. The Emperor gets a call from Vader to report.
"Vader! How's my favorite little Sith? What? What do you mean Thrawn's gone? Oh, f*ck! F*ck! F*CK!!! What do you mean he was kidnapped? By who? Whales? Space whales?! Space whales that have light speed?!!! Have you been doing Bacta Drops again?"
Amazing Job❤❤❤
this is an awesome video! W!
There should be a band of brothers style shown about Twilight company starting from their formation and the mid-rim retreat, to Hoth, to Endor, then to Troithe and then Jakku.
There definitely should! Live action or animated it doesn’t matter to me as long as it’s done right. The GCW is still the most popular time period in SW.
I fell in love with your channel because of game of thrones break downs, when I found your star wars vids omg u are my top 3rd creator
Thank you for making this video incredibly informative for Star Wars fans who would like to know more of the going ons of the whole war
I suggest to you manda-Lore instead because the Kings and Generals Team are more Casual Fans that depict a Disney wars Timeline that nuked Like almost 50 years worth of Lore thats why its IS so lacking of details
I watch this video some nights to get to sleep. I can't wait to see a clone wars version!
Please do a series on the Red Rising universe! So many great battles and a great universe to explore
Love the animations and how informative this was I feel like a history student in a post empire university
3:36 I actually don't know if this is in fact proper SW terminology, but describing darth vader as "palpatine's enforcer" is killing me, I love it.
I would love a star wars legends version of this;
its just far interesting if the Empire kept fighting after endor.
SO much more interesting with all the various warlords and imperial remnant fighting even each other for control of sectors and factions of space.
They did though. The final battle of the war was two years after ROTJ at Jakku
@@BrodyReynoJust reminded me how I have no idea how many years after RotJ TFA is even set.
Can't believe how much I stopped caring after Disney took over. I used to geek so much about it.
Great video, only issue is Blue Squadron arrived with Admiral Raddus, not before.
best 3 hours i spent in my life
WOW amazing work
This was simply excellent
Great video dude!! Keep it up
I like how Mustafar and Hoth are so close together 🙂
Gotta make one for andor and andor s 2
This is well written... Well narrated... Well visualized ... Amazingly professional ... Just as nice as the documentary I watched on how the conscious energy of the force created the Sith and the Jedi ... Thankyou W&W .... 🙏🙏🙏✨✨✨💯
Love these long videos they help a lot of just settling in after a long week 😀
This is incredible. Please make more, I'm fiending!!!!
Amazing!
Thank you for this masterpiece. Could you do something like this for the Clone Wars? ❤
This is the coolest Star Wars i've seen in awhile. Thanks.
Aside from losing Thrawn, imagine if Vader had a personal Tie Defender at the Battle of Yavin. Not sure if Tarkin would’ve allowed Thrawn’s input at Yavin, but Vader would definitely have those Tie Defenders.
What you did here was GREAT! Keep doing more of it
Vader straight solo’d an army and it’s air support while dropping one of the sickest lines in SW.
When I was young I wan’ts scared of Vader because big scary bad guy isn’t so scary being beaten by the good guys, now knowing legends I can certainly respect the absolute terror he causes
I think a video on the High Republic Nihil wars would be cool
Y’all are amazing, keep up the great work!
This was a masterpiece!
This compilation has helped me notice the repeated Disney Star Wars deus ex machina: "Hey, we could just run our ship into thier ship, right?"
Fair but I think u can view this as WW2 kamikaze, all the armies could do it but it wasn mostly practiced by the Japanese army. So perhaps the resources it would take to get a new fleet or ship makes it unrealistic on the logistic end then what we see.
sorry but what does deus ex machina mean? what god are you talking about?
@@udozocklein6023I think he means that every time the empire seems on the verge of victory/dismemberment of the rebellion, there’s a kamikazi attack that kills someone vital and allows a rebellion victory.
Very nice. I really enjoyed the video. Well done.
Another incredible video!
Great video. You should do the clone wars
53:34 "However, the rebels knew that the empire would strike back" yes indeed.
Great video!
Amazing thanks for this!
This video is amazing and I love it. It’d be cool see a legends version of this
2:04:06
There was also 1 Tector-Class Star Destroyer (:
Very brilliant Video!
Is there any way you could do the Galactic Civil War Legends storyline?
This is amazing star trek content
I hope you’re joking.
@@Azorees-oj5zrYou can’t tell sarcasm if it hit you in the face Can you?
@@DL-nn1ws it’s the internet, you can never be sure.
@@Azorees-oj5zr I’d take that as an acceptable answer if it wasn’t so obvious this time
