BRUH!
Great production value. If I could ask you one extra thing, it would be timestamps for the different chapters (those would be very helpful with a 3h video)
How do you guys animate the battles with the moving blocks is that just an animation basic. Any video software programs you recommend. Thankyou! :)

You gotta make a Legends version of this. Please.
It must be hard to put down a galaxy wide rebellion when you only have 1 reliably competent commander at hand. Specially when the other one you had got exiled to another galaxy by space whales early on the war.
Disney just doesn’t know how to write a competent Empire, they have to be hilariously incompetent otherwise they’d have to actually write a competent rebellion as well and we all know that they can’t.
@@Azorees-oj5zr The writers at Disney don't believe in competence. Their framing of politics can't accept that the people in the higher ranks of the Empire will likely be pretty good at their jobs or exceptionally good at playing the bureaucracy. That's why characters like General Hux are just petty laughingstocks. They have to be corrupt nepotism hires or tyrannical bullies. I'm a little scared to see how Thrawn is portrayed by them.
Star wars has only been made worse and more ridiculous by filoni and disney, they make it a joke because that sells better.
@@Azorees-oj5zr the rebellion was competent, they beat the empire lmao
It's not like they were all that adept under Lucas. Storm troopers need some rifle range time I feel.@@Azorees-oj5zr
A Legends version of this, probably 10 hours long considering the length of the proper GCW, would be amazing.
Yess
Yeah! Not super interested in the canon version of Star Wars these days
Expanded Universe is superior.
Yes I’d love that! I also want to see a clone wars timeline
It's amazing to me how, even in a video like this, you can feel the tonal shift between the pre-Disney material and the post-Disney material. The post-Disney stuff is just so basic and contrived, and it's tangible...
I think this is an absolutely fantastic representation of the galactic civil war. The detail is phenomenal and the main characters well represented!! Well Done Wizards and Warriors and keep up the absolutely amazing work!!
I love what you did here!! Can you do a Clone Wars version of this please?
Yes, although we don’t have as much details about it, so it might be difficult but it would certainly be great.
@@generaltom6850we have more details about the clone wars in canon than we do about the civil war
For now they are doing thrawn maybe after it was doen they will cover thr clone wars
The clone wars should be very interesting due to the fact that many battles in the comics aren't canon anymore
Clone wars would be fantastic

Thanks everyone. ':^)
I still play Empire at War, and the expansion Forces of Corruption on their original discs from many years ago, bought them new. Thanks for your mods, I have played them, and any others like Rise of the Mandelorians.

Just got the game because of the Disney steam sale. It’s a lot of fun!
This video is a bold one.
Also, when will the prequel that is the Clones Wars happened on this channel?
That could be several hours for each year of the war easily.

Great video. You covered Rogue One a whole lot so I was surprised to see the characters from Andor not mentioned. Luthen Rael was integral in the formation of the Rebel Alliance. The ISB even called him Axis cause he was the center of all the rebel cells. Either way great work. 🤌🏻
It’s possible Andor had not finished releasing by the time that episode had come up. This is just a mega compilation of all the videos

Vader straight solo’d an army and it’s air support while dropping one of the sickest lines in SW.
When I was young I wan’ts scared of Vader because big scary bad guy isn’t so scary being beaten by the good guys, now knowing legends I can certainly respect the absolute terror he causes
Well done. Much respect for the entertaining and articulate storytelling.
Excellent work. Thank you.
I find it interesting in Star Wars lore how year 0 is to denote the battle of Yavin when I find that the end of the clone wars and the rise of the empire would make more sense to be a year 0
This is well written... Well narrated... Well visualized ... Amazingly professional ... Just as nice as the documentary I watched on how the conscious energy of the force created the Sith and the Jedi ... Thankyou W&W .... 🙏🙏🙏✨✨✨💯

I love this channel. Also, not to be a weird, but as an American I do love English accents of many types. I think it makes the narrations sound better in many cases. I have a question. The Lasat species is rather new to Star Wars. It’s pronunciation was made known on the show Rebels. Where did you hear it pronounced the way you say it? Was it on Rebels? I’ve never heard it that way. It being a newer word in this context, and not an actual race spoke of for centuries.
They should have made a movie out of Mako Ta as the second movie before Empire Strikes Back.

So awesome :D
I *love* this, but I have one suggestion: for future star wars stuff, please don’t use that rapid-fire TIE laser sound like the one from 2:04:33 to 2:05:07. Whenever I heard it, it nearly made me turn off the video. All the other sounds and music were terrific, as were the script and the reading.
So what was the rebels "first victory"? Scarif? Or Defeating Thrawn at Lothal?
The Battle of Lothal was the first victory against the Empire. The Battle of Scarif was the first victory for the United Alliance
Crazy how similar Galaan looks like Pluto lol
"All became aces" yeah... imperials just never gain experience, while ALL of the rebels gained enormous experience)))
Where is the new mongol series episode
But you forgot about how Obi Wan went on an adventure with baby Leia!

Legend
Wow, this made me realize that Thrawn was pretty much out of the war almost entirely, I wonder if the outcome would've been different if he never got stranded at a faraway Galaxy.
in a world where good writing exists and competent people don't become a joke overnight, I absolutely believe that Thrawn would have brought the Empire to victory
He would've died sooner?
Expanded universe lore was far superior.
@@attilaszabo2160yea in any real comparison, the rebels really didn’t stand a chance. Hell, the battle of Endor was literally won by an A wing somehow crashing into the executors bridged, taking out the second biggest pawn on the board
Thrawn originally wasn't lost. The Legends lore is far better.
Here's to Wizards and Warriors for its masterful storytelling of the rise and fall of the Empire. Thank you.

@@derrickstorm6976like you could do better
@@derrickstorm6976not really the channel is great always good
@@derrickstorm6976literally can’t find a Star Wars documentary that has good visuals and explanations of said battle so i will have to agree on the masterful storytelling
At 29:12 is not entirely correct. Cassian Andor was ordered to assassinate Galen Erso, do to the importance of Erso to the Empire. He could not bring himself to go through with the assassination. But another force was sent by the Rebel Alliance to attack the base, which in their attack mortally wounded Erso. The intention of freeing Erso was by his daughter and the rest of the groups, Andor only played along to get a chance to assassinate Erso. At about 134:40 it was the commander of Blizzard 1 in an AT-AT that took out the power generator at the Rebel base at Hoth, not Vader as the video shows. The audio is correct here, but is confused by the video of a tie interceptor firing on the power generator.
Nice clarification of these errors. There have been a few other errors that I've noticed as well, and I'm only up to the beginning of the events depicted in "The Empire Strikes Back." There is a lot to go through for the crew at Wizards and Warriors, so I suppose errors are bound to happen. (fyi, perhaps his name isn't mentioned for any number of reasons, but the commander of Blizzard 1 was General Veers. "Yes, Lord Vader, we've reached the power generator. The shield will be down in moments. You may start your landing.")
It also gets wrong who they said took down the ATAT, when it was Luke that took out an ATAT with the thermal Grenade. Loving the the video otherwise
It’s unfortunate how intricate Legends was concerning post ROTJ and how…simple Disney made it.
Some much-much-needed complexity was mercifully reintroduced in Andor. I believe we owe that to Tony Gilroy not being a Star Wars superfan - he's actually capable of thinking and writing beyond one's info bubble. The political/family drama of Mon Mothma and the thrilling Luthen Rael subplot were some of the best pieces of sci-fi to be found in recent decades.
Shame so many "fans" immediately hated it and declared it a borefest just because there wasn't an action scene every 15 minutes.
@@mateuszjokiel2813fr
@@mateuszjokiel2813Andor is so good. I love the politics they show and the cat and mouse game they are playing not to mention they make the Empire actually scary. I think starwars works best when Force magic isn’t as prevalent. Then we get to just focus on the wars which is much more interesting and is usually written better.
The only cohesive part of Legends Galactic Civil War between Return of the Jedi and Heir to the Empire was the X-Wing series, outside of that there was tons of material that didn’t fit together and contradicted. The clean interpretation of Post ROTJ Legends timeline only exists in the Essential Guide to Warfare book
I think current canon wraps up too soon and Legends drags its feet far too long with the GCW personally-- though meta-wise, that's because when a lot of Legends was being written, the PT didn't exist yet so the only conceivable story was continuing the GCW. Not to mention Dark Empire being the first case of "Somehow Palpatine returned", and it was as dumb then as it is now.
As someone who watches a lot of the kings and generals videos (your campaigns on Alexander are excellent) an armchair historian and a star wars fan this is so so cool
My father and my son bonded over star wars after my son watched this vid. It reawaken my fathers love of star wars and they are now watching the 3rd season of the clone wars :) thanks tons!!!!
Loved the re-animation and explanation on these ship battles - well done, sir!
will you do the legends storyline in the future?
I hope so, it’s far better than Disney’s one.

Damn, 3 hours to explain how thick the Rebels plot armour was
Thicker than the Death Star.
Even the villains had some
No kidding. If you play a drinking game how many times the Rebels fell into an Empire trap and _somehow_ able to wiggle out of it...
It’s wild how people have overused the term plot armor to the point of meaninglessness. It’s not plot armor to overcome a difficult circumstance with a reason. “We’re a special forces team and used cover and our shooting skills to come out of an ambush unharmed” isn’t plot armor for instance.
It’s plot armor to not die in a situation you’d definitely otherwise die in with no logical, in universe reason at all.
More like the stupidity of the imperial high command the rebels shouldn’t have won the imperial officer made the republic look like a amazing military power thrawn and Vader were the only officers carrying the empire the rest where rather stupid or glory seeking fanatics
Legends>canon. I will die on that hill. Also, the empire did nothing wrong.
Good joke

I have learned so much from your videos and now I have so much better knowledge of the sci-fi and fantasy worlds. It is amazing how much stuff is actually between the movies.
I may be 8 months late, but thank you for spending the time to put this together.
You should do one of these videos on the clone wars next. This video was an absolute banger and id love to see one for the clone wars
I cannot wait for them to do a series on the empire ,that take place after the events of Rise of Skywalker episode IX,
According to Book Cannon, Admiral Daala and Pellaeon team up and save the empire, and reform it...making it like a imperial republic empire like Rome, only no evil sith ever again to rule it.
in order for this to happen in a tv series hopefully it will be considered, it will take place many years past. but it could be alot like the movies only in show form.
7 - 10 seasons maybe.
and all their old MK I's II's and III's will be replaced with their new MK IV's and a variety of new and improved ships.
all old ships will be scrapped and replaced by better and newer ones...
the main ISD's at this point will be MK IV's replacing the old I, II's and III's, etc...
weapons, troops, gear looking alot like modern variants of clone gear etc...better training, improved everything.
the Star Imperials will be Admiral Natasi Daala and Admiral Gilad Pellaeon, among many others Imperials and Republican and jedi as well.
my idea is patented ©
the more i learn about star wars lore, the less impressed i am. I used to be a fan, but the sheer incompetence and the unflattering scale of combat is just so unrealistic and disappointing. 22 ships for a capital battle like Yavin? In WWII a major confrontation consisted of hundreds of aircraft on each side; but you tell me an intergalatic conflict of desperate proportions can only field 22 ships? versus 7000 TIES on the death star? They should have been swatted out of the sky in seconds. Thawne? Carried away by space whales? What are the guns on the ship for?
Admittedly, Vader crushing several squads of aircraft and companies of men was pretty awesome, and was one of the better written segments. But then he runs off without keeping an eye on a major rebel leader just to take out someone who challenged his power? A true sith would have just killed her and moved on.
there are also so many instances of imperial star destroyers hanging back and doing jack all instead of surrouding a pathetic rebel fleet with TINY ships as compared to them and obliterating them for NO reason.
i know that there are fans of the series, but today's explanation has solidified what i suspected all along - the series is badly written by people who have no sense of scale and storytelling. By no means am i condemming fans of the series, but i have been disappointed so many times i find it hard to continue to be part of the fandom. :(
okay how did an Acclamator knock out an ISD? so stupid and shows why disney's canon should be ignored.
I would love a star wars legends version of this;
its just far interesting if the Empire kept fighting after endor.
SO much more interesting with all the various warlords and imperial remnant fighting even each other for control of sectors and factions of space.
They did though. The final battle of the war was two years after ROTJ at Jakku
@@BrodyReynoJust reminded me how I have no idea how many years after RotJ TFA is even set.
Can't believe how much I stopped caring after Disney took over. I used to geek so much about it.

*Can We See The Conclusion to the Mongol Alternate History*
Working on it!
the Disney version of Post ROTJ is just baffling. I will never understand the point of killing off the Empire in one year. Like why? What do you gain narratively? Having peace for the next 29 years until the First Order comes in the Sequels where nothing happens, is that in any way interesting? You could have so many cool warlord storylines and the empire gradually loses in favor of the New Republic by smartly playing off imperial factions but no, the rebels just win after one big battle. Such wasted potential and opportunity. If you want to explain how the empire lost so that the first order could happen, you don't need to kill off the empire immediately to explain something that won't happen for another 30 years. The Empire lost Endor, Vader, Palpatine, and a huge fleet but they still commanded the resources of the entire galaxy while the Rebels were still a ragtag group. They still got 10+ Super Star Destroyers but Disney wanted to kill them off so fast that the reasons they give for them losing those ships is absurd. Like one of them got stolen by fucking pirates, you serious? Imagine if the US Navy lost an aircraft carrier to Somali pirates on fishing boats. Like Bruh you can't make this up. Then you got Operation Cinder where the Empire literally destroy its own loyal planets for no reason besides Palpy got butthurt and rage quit. It was a contingency that the Empire destroy itself after he died because the empire couldn't protect him, making him lose any nuisance or complexity to his character, turning him into a petty cartoon villain crybaby. Even if officers were extremely loyal to him, I find it hard for them and the soldiers under them to carry out his orders. They would potentially destroy their own homeworld and kill their own families and friends on the planets they protected. That's ludicrous especially if they knew Palpy was dead so why listen to a dead man anyway? You kill off the empire in one year just so you can retcon them back in the Mandoverse shows where apparently warlods and Thrawn do exist. If you want to tell more imperial stories years after Endor, why have the empire surrender after one year in the first place and shoot yourself in the foot then? They had to write the New Republic in the Ahsoka show as clowns for that to happen. The Empire loses most of their hardware on Jakku, a desert planet with no importance in terms of galactic politics. Let's bet all of our eggs in one basket to an inferior enemy over a planet with no resources except it takes place in the Sequels all because JJ wanted nostalgia star destroyer on the planet. The Empire that still controlled 90% of the galaxy after Endor losing to rebels in one year is like the US Superpower Military loses to Taliban forces in Afghanistan and then immediately after, the braindead Taliban launches an invasion of the Continental US and somehow wins by winning a single battle in the desert of Nevada where for some reason braindead Washington sent most of their military assets to defend, then the still numerically superior surviving US forces overreact and completely abandon the entire country after losing just Nevada to the unknown regions of Canada. Then they watch while the Taliban takes every city without a fight for 29 years just to come back and retake the same territory they would still be in control of if they didn't leave in the first place. Good video, but holy shit their worldbuilding is awful.
I will disagree on one point: Palpatine was NOT complex or nuanced. He _should_ be, given how smart he could be and how well he pretended to be, but he wasn't. Palpatine is NOT realistically evil. He's just evil, and he loves it. He's not Doofenschmirtz, tied to tragic backstory, or Thanos, who genuinely believes he's doing the right thing, or Sauron, who started with good intentions, even retained them to some degree, but lost his way and focused more and more on taking power. Just killing people out of spite, or even for amusement, is absolutely a thing creamy Sheev would do.
@@JustFlemishMe yeah, I know, but I would like for him to keep the appearance of nuisance Lucas created in the prequels. Also, he knew he wouldn't die in reality because of the exegol stuff but yeah op cinder was created before all that so u can give it a pass. It's just not very well thought-out which is my point and it takes you out of the story
@@mikehuang4834 Yeah... The sequel trilogy made a bit of a mess. Not sure what Disney was thinking greenlighting the whole trilogy when they clearly didn't have an overall vision for it.
Thanks for this - short summary. It would be useful to see a similar production for the eras from 4000 BBY (or earlier) when the force became usable, and the Jedi and Sith emerged and grew as [institutions]/movements. The 9 films only cover 32 BBY - 35 ABY. This time line includes Solo and Rogue One and all the current TV series.
But the history is deep and long (at least to 1,000,000 BBY). Starting with the Celestia Era (c 1,000,00-40,000 BBY); then the era of the Dawn of the Jedi (36,453 BBY) and first Force Wars (25,793 BBY), a host of subsequent expansions, crusades and conflicts, leading up to Old-Republic (25,000-1,000 BBY), High-Republic (500-100 BBY), Rise of Empire/Fall of the Jedi (100-19BBY), Age of Rebellion (3BBY-4ABY), New Republic (5-34ABY), Rise of First Order (34-35 ABY), New Jedi Order/Legacy etc.. (50ABY - unknown)

This compilation has helped me notice the repeated Disney Star Wars deus ex machina: "Hey, we could just run our ship into thier ship, right?"
Fair but I think u can view this as WW2 kamikaze, all the armies could do it but it wasn mostly practiced by the Japanese army. So perhaps the resources it would take to get a new fleet or ship makes it unrealistic on the logistic end then what we see.
sorry but what does deus ex machina mean? what god are you talking about?
@@udozocklein6023I think he means that every time the empire seems on the verge of victory/dismemberment of the rebellion, there’s a kamikazi attack that kills someone vital and allows a rebellion victory.
