Hi I just have a question. I own a pixel 6 pro but when I slide down to get to my applications I don’t have the option of “personal or work” like you have on your pixel 6 why is that ? Maybe it’s because I don’t have the latest December update? Please can you help me and tell me if that’s the case or is it a problem with my phone?

This is the work profile feature thats in the Pixel. It's been there for a few years, you can install it if you have a g suite account for work. Google is also expanding this feature in the future: www.engadget.com/google-android-work-profile-workspace-2022-173541051.html

I got news for you! I have the standard Pixel 6 but held and looked at the 6 Pro device deeply and the display quality on the Pro version is "slightly" better! That and the other couple slight differences are NOT worth the extra $300.00 price hike! I do not like curved screens at all, no matter how good the display is! Believe me, if the display on the standard Pixel 6 was not a good display, I would be the first to acknowledge it! The display is beautiful and bright enough to view in outdoor sunlight! You wanna spend the extra $300.00 for the Pro model? Go right ahead - lot's of people love to get the top-of-the-line devices regardless of the cost just to say they have the top device! The standard Puxel 6 is the smarter choice!

If the 6 had a headphone jack, I wouldn't even hesitate. Unfortunately, I'm looking at having to get a new phone and none of the phones offered for free by my provider have headphone jacks. And yes, the curved screens are awful! Blegh!

    • @tonyginnetti5828
      @tonyginnetti5828 2 года назад +3

@@SadisticSenpai61 - Yeah, the lack of a headphone jack was nearly a deal breaker, since every phone I'd had included one! After considerable thought (and realizing nearly all new devices do not have headphone jacks), and knowing I have a nice set of Bluetooth ear buds, I weighed out the other pros and cons and made the decision to go with the (standard) Pixel 6. The amazing cameras and camera features, software experience, the 128gb storage with 8gb RAM, screen display, the fact that this phone will get 3 more years of OS Android updates and 5 years of misc. software and security updates AND the $599.99 price outweighed the 2 or 3 minor negatives!

@@tonyginnetti5828 I'm gonna have to end up going with the OnePlus Nord N200. It turns out, the Pixel 6 isn't being offered for free for my phone upgrade. And the Nord N200 is the only one being offered that I think I can stand. And ofc it doesn't have a headphone jack... Grr!

Quick tip from a viewer coming to see this review. If you guys are making a "After one month" review, I as the viewer dont want to hear what ive been hearing in reviews since day 1. Skip all that, ive heard it countless times, i want to know what im not able to know by using the phone 2 days, 1 week, 2 weeks. I want to know whats been exceptionally good, what hasnt been, quirks, nit picks, surprises that you can only know about after using the phone for a long period of time. How some things just work and are a treat to use and how some things u hoped to be better but werent. This is just a regurgitated 1 day review one month late...

Coming from someone who always has a iPhone in one pocket and owned several qhd phones you do notice the difference. I'm on day 2 of owning the Pixel 6. I was using the iPhone 13 mini but was not satisfied with the battery or iOS for that matter. I've had iOS in the past but this time around didn't capture me as the pixel seems to do. Last night I drove from 5pm to midnight delivering dominos and had the GPS running most of the time. With my mini I would never make it without keeping it plugged in. Now I love knowing if I start at 100% I can make it through a rough shift without battery issues. Only thing I'm not enjoying are all these damn adds in what seems to be every app I download.

My experience with the Pixel 6. I find that the fingerprint scanner isn't at all responsive as the OnePlus 8+ or my favorite Pixel 4A used to be. I'm still trying to get used to the swipe up to get to my other screens and I've noticed a random green screen that takes you back to the Home which is weird. On the OnePlus 8+, the 120 Hz refresh... I guess I'd gotten used to the speed and responsiveness of just swiping screens but I can definitely tell the difference with the Pixel 6. I hear all the rave reviews and I'm a diehard Google guy but I'm not all that happy with the 6. Just sharing my opinion.
Update: One other minor annoyance, I have a Galaxy Tab, I enter my 4 digit PIN and it automatically takes me to the homepage, but I enter my 4 digit PIN on the Pixel 6 and I have to then hit the arrow button to get to the homepage. I'm like come on Google. Yes it just takes a second to do it but I don't wanna. Lol.

I have the Pixel 5 and must admit if photos are your main draw to the phone, which seems the undercurrent from many at #teampixel, then I would keep the 5 or get the 5a rather than the Pixel 6 which is not much of an upgrade in the photo sphere. In fact I still carry my Pixel 5 for that purpose as I prefer their results. I think, after a month or two, I am unimpressed with the Pixel 6 line, well below my expectations. It is another choice for the phone-starved US market but I would suggest those of us in Europe or Asia will find far better phones arriving soon or choose a discounted 2021 phone, most beat the Pixel 6/Pro in value and specs. A worthy try Google and in the US will garner fandom, but we await the Pixel 7 for something closer to expectations.

I agree. After all the blind test MKBHD did which I am not a big fan of btw, shows the people actually chose the 5a pics over 13pro s21 ultra and all 2021 devices. And 2020. In it's defense I will proudly keep my 4xl. Heheh

Bear in mind that Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have new camera hardware, which means that photos will only get better and better in the future, along with videos, as they continue to update the software, which is currently still tuned for the older models. On the other hand, Pixel 5 (and lower) have most likely reached the peak of their performance.

Much made of the Pixel 6 AI but benchmarks suggest it is miles behind the upcoming chips so do not believe all the marketing spiel (new Dimensity will be nearly 3x better than Tensor). On device chips to provide offline data have been around for a while and this is no reinvention of the wheel. Do not be fooled by the hype, the Tensor is already dated and by early 2022 will look old and slow compared to the new chips.

Most buggy phone I have ever owned, even has an overheating Exynos “tensor” chip. Final straw was dropping mobile connection and phone, and having to go through panicked hoops, all to no avail. Returned today. If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, my advice would be to wait for the Pixel 7 (because obviously you cannot be sure how many bugs you are going to get if you buy a pixel 6) but check out that iteration's reviews first.

Here’s my problem, I wanted to consider the Pixel 6 but I’m an iPhone user. My brother bought the 6 and while he was impressed with it, he ultimately sent it back because it had horrible battery life and terrible standby time. He said he’d charge it and a few hours later, it would have already lost 3-5%. My iPhone XR isn’t great on battery life as I’m probably averaging about what Pixel 6 users claim to get but the iPhone battery is very well optimized and after charging to 100%, I can leave it off charge as long as I want and it won’t lose any on standby times of inactivity. I had a Moto G Power 2020 before the iPhone XR and while I loved things about android on that phone, it had atrocious call quality. iPhones are way better in that area but I do love the customization of android more than iOS.
I’m just wondering if any iPhone users have had positive experiences switching to the Pixel 6 and if they regret leaving iOS? Android has really improved since the last time I had it which was ages ago and I love the design and features of the Pixel 6. I just can’t shake the feeling I’d get buyer’s remorse if I made the jump because iPhones, despite all their flaws, are still kings of the smartphones for quality and longevity.

Hey there! I actually just switched from the iPhone to the Pixel 6. Actually from the same iPhone you're talking about. I'm currently using text to speech right now and it's working really well. Some things I think it's just an Android 12 thing. It's a little bit glitchy here and there. When I opened maps I noticed it's a little bit laggy I don't know if that's a map's problem or not. RUclips and split screen can be a little bit buggy as well. Again, not sure if it's the app or if it's Android 12 itself. However, the overall experience I really enjoy. Am I over the moon about my decision? I'm going to be completely honest, not yet. I'm not like "oh wow, this is such a great phone." Don't get me wrong. It's an awesome phone. I just thought I would feel more emotion when I got it so far though it's been a pleasant experience. Would I upgrade from the iPhone XR to the Pixel 6 pro. Absolutely 100%. Would I go for the iPhone 13 pro Max though? I'm going to be completely honest with you. Probably if price wasn't an issue. As far as the battery goes I think it's honestly fine. I know it's an adaptive battery and it'll get better over time the more you use the phone. Hope this helps!

The screen issues on the Pixel 6 "regular" is a deal breaker for me. Would gladly pay 150-200$ more if the screen would be top notch quality like the pro.

I honestly don't even notice any issues. I think the screen is great. This 6 is as close to a perfect phone as I am going to find this year. The pro's curved screen was my main reason for going with the regular 6. Damn I hate curved screens

iPhone 13 Mini is $100 more . Idk if it's really comparable when you consider the form factor. I think you'd have to compare the 6 to the 13 and theres a $200 difference there. - Josh
