Glad I found this. Fuel leaking from those connections on mine as well as p/s pump leaking. One big mess to fix all at once. 370k miles of towing and washboard mountain roads and off road hazards and one sail off a 50ft cliff taking its toll.
Riffraff diesel has the hard lines for around $50 and they are 2 separate lines that should make it easier. Also the braided lines are $100 for both . So this whole project for mt 97 powerstroke was around $150
Mine are gonna leak. Right by the bolt attachment. Need to learn how to release the disconnect. Ive pulled EVERYTHING off he engine at this point. Fuel lines r easy....now
Is it possible to blow air through the fuel lines from where they connect to the fuel bowl back toward the tank to clear any possible blockages if the fuel tanks are removed without removing the hard fuel lines. My 1997 7.3 starts and idles just fine, but after I drive it for five minutes or so, it dies. I’m thinking there may be a clog in the line and it’s just not getting enough fuel to keep it running when fuel demand is high. Any thoughts ?
Thanks. I just removed my front tank and it had a lot of rust and debris in the bottom. The filter assembly had fallen off, as I hear is common. I’m going to just buy a new tank because it will be easier and faster to do that than to try to clean the old tank. I will still plan on putting some kind of solvent or something in the fuel lines after I disconnect them at both ends and then blowing air through them to make sure they are clear before I put them back together. I’ll also be removing the rear tank since the front tank was so bad.

I'm not sure about the 97s but the 99-03s have a issue with the filters inside the fuel tank plugging up.
