Hi! Mr. Armin😁 Excellent review. As always we appreciate your honesty 100%
Thanks for your time and friendship🙏
it last well, I have one for two years, black sada in 45 pounds, and I use it often. My khesig from alibow is already delaminated and I paid 330 euros for it ( only 110 euro for the oak ridge )
thanks for this
Welp, mine just broke after less than a year (at the handle, the hand shock was a warning sign and it's not arrow weight, I went from too heavy too just slightly above 10 gpp arrows) , guess it's down to luck
After a LONG hiatus from archery I decided to check out current tech to sort out my interests and needs. Fortunately, I cam across your videos which have increased my interest in an activity I always enjoyed. Many thanks for your detailed and comprehensive analysis. I'm a lefty but was really inspired by your right left demo. I also want to be able to shoot from either side of the grip; Ergo I am leaning toward a small to mid-sized Tatar Horsebow. I'd appreciate any comments from you. In these days of COVID you have made social seclusion so much more tolerable! Great vids. Thank you so much.
Got this 25# version as my first horse bow recently and having plenty of fun with it. Coming from olympic recurve I really did not notice the hand shock, but with the low brace height and wide pass I'm definitely struggling to keep it from shooting far right. On the other hand it is making me focus on getting the khatra right :) The handle is definitely smaller than I would like. Overall I'm happy, though! Note that the black version seems to cost less than the bamboo version but I don't think there is any other difference.
Update for anyone interested... After some thousands of shots both the bow and string are still holding up nicely. My skill has improved a lot and I have no problems with the bow (it's all me!). In the meantime I have also purchased the Flagella Dei laminated Scythian bow, 34lbs. I have to say that so far I prefer the Sada probably because I like the feel of the string bridges and siyahs, and I think the Sada at 25lbs is about as fast as the Scythian at 34lbs. Also both strings I got from Flagella Dei have loose center serving. But the bigger handle is nice coming from the Sada.
Hello! I know it has been two years but I also have issues with shooting far right. What is the reason for this happening and what does "khatra" mean? I have the 25p bow, if it makes a difference.
Mr. Hirmer, you have class. I appreciate your style and attitude.
Nice review, The local archery stores have this bow too and It's great to see an in depth review of this one.
Got one at 35#. Very nice bow.
Beware of twisting the limbs though!
Yeah and the serving will be in shreds after 50 arrows.
I got 35# version. It is nice. No issues with bowstring in my case. Biggest disadvantage is the handle. It is too small. I could feel the edge of leather on the very bottom hurting my hand (glue made the edge hard and sharp). It started to be really nice and comfy after i replaced leather with longer one fitting my hand. At the end of the day, I am very satisfied.
Arrow pass width is just fine, bh is to low. Im personally not big fan narrow arrow pass , from my experience 23-24 mm work very good on bh 17 - 19 cm. If you have anchor point on side of face and pass very narrow arrow usually go on left/right deppends how you shoot with little wider pass arrow/eye/target is in line . Centershot have benefits when anchor is in line with target , just like olympic archers do. But for sure its general theory, not personal preferences
Another informative and detailed video as always. Wish I had seen this before buying my first bow. But anyway, thank you for the review. Greetings from Vietnam.
Hey Armin, bought this bow yesterday at 30# to start with thumb draw, and i love it. the brace height should be around 7' according to my shop, tad higher than the 5,3/4 you had. at that brace i also had string slap but at 7, or 6,5 none at all. very fun bow to shoot! shooting heavy arrows (14,5 gpp) and it still feels fast on 18 meters.
Yes a great bow for the price. Enjoy shooting
Armin, thank you for a review, I have a black one 25# and it works nice for me as for beginner.
Thank you for the review. I've been waiting to see this bow kinda glad I got to see it before I purchased one as a beater bow. I think I'll stick with my fiberglass tartar from AJ archery. Thank you very much for all you do Armin.
I recieved mine today in black (#50) from Bogensportwelt, where it costed 181€ (maybe a new version, but same name) and I think, obviously I just got it and can't give any long term experience, that it’s a really nice bow, smoth draw, not much vibration, looks good, feels good, lightweight, sturdy in the limbs, so yeah...
I bought this bow as my first bow 2 months a go (30#). So far it has been working just nice and in my case the servings are fine still. I'll be getting a Vegh sipahi in the near future, so I'll be looking forward for the "upgrade".
Worth while cheap bow? Value for money? This bow looks nice and performance was very acceptable. Maybe the TopArchery bow fail was one in a hundred? Just curious, if you file off 1mm or 2mm on each side of the arrow pass, would it break the bow? Would it make a difference in performance?
A good archer can be effective with any bow
At approx minute 11, Armin, you speak of hand shock. I feel the same in my 35# sada with 700, 600, 500 & 400 spined arrows (100 gr tips and 30" long). Is there a way to minimize and/or eliminate this phenomenon? Can you suggest an asiatic bow that does not have handshock? Looking forward to your thoughts.
Thanks for the review, purchased the bow few days ago.
One thing I'm not sure about is whether 800 Spine, 32" Carbon arrows could be good for the 30# version of this Bow or not.
Can you help me with that, Armin?
Hi Armin
I love your videos and your calm and mellow approach, very inspirational - thank you! I just bought a Oak Ridge Black Sada #35 pounds, but I can’t seem to find the correct braceheight online - what would be your suggestion?
Thomas, Denmark
Good question, I think we had them around 7,5” need to wait until one of the bows comes to the range and check
The video is gone?
Oak Ridge Black Forest Recurve
I'd like you to review this bow, too.
Hey there, I shoot mostly compound target, I'd like to to some more instinctual type shooting though and so I was looking for recommendations for a upper middle end horse bow- something shorter and light ,durable, fast, or like to keep it traditional but i don't mind some modern touches
as always, great informative video. Gracias!
The Souuuund though. So satisfying. Fup.
Thank you sir I think I’ll keep looking 👍🏼🏹🇺🇸
I would really like to ask for a comparison with eg the sycthain bow from flagella dei which is, when i know it right, the same pricerange
Hello Armin, are you planning on doing a video on DIY Kepaze bow and how to train with it? Grüße aus Deutschland
Is it just me that gets scared the bow will snap?
I got one I wanted 30 for nice re learning but I got a 40. You comments fel right in... A bit too wide arrow pass that make me shoot too much to the left (left handed) quita a shock and vibration. But I like it for it's price. When I LL have an opportunity I LL buy a better model
Got one in 35# its not very smooth on the draw and start to stack at 26".Speed is ok,and you feel the kick as you said.Overall nice bow for the price.
hey, I am thinking of getting one, how is the bow now? is it still working well? no cracks? thanks :)
@@benji4840 Its holding well,no problem so far
@@Subodas thanks
@@benji4840 Mine cracked after less than a year
If the bow is 52 inches long, then why the flock do you list the string in centimetres? Give both standards of measurement please!
ask the bow company, thats what they provided me on info
Nice and helpful review. Thanks =)
Hi Armin, are there significative differences with the Black Sada one? Thank you
Wish I had a local archery store... I only have a compound bow from dicks sporting goods that 8bgot 2 years ago and have not used in months, but I want to get good so I can hunt game when I go Bush crafting.
The handle piece on mine (30#) just popped off while opening the bow, less than 500 arrows shot...I'll update to tell you all what the warranty is like
What is a handle piece?
The flat piece of wood glued on the glassfiber, got send a New one After warranty service Saw the pictures
Dear Armin ... looking to get a slightly better bow for my partner than her Meng Yuan (elong) bow. Would you recommend this ? (after something < £150), shes only an occasional archer. !
shouldnt you normally have the guiding feather on the outside of the bow? it quite often looks like he places it against the bow.
I don't care about guiding feather, thats something for FITA archers and when you use plastic vanes. for me it makes no difference
@@ArminHirmer does it make any difference for the arrows in the long run, especially with stronger bows?
Not for me
OK, ty for the info
@@IGhengisKhanI I have been shooting a lot the last couple of months, and at first I was careful to have the odd feather out. But still the feathers got a bit "chewed up" after a while.I think technique plays a bigger role than the positioning of the feathers. Or so I think. Now i don`t bother with it anymore, and I don`t see any difference in arrow flight. Mind you though, I`m a beginner still, so this is just my impressions based off of limited experience:-).
Is there somewhere I can buy this in the USA or order it without an indefinite delay due to the pandemic?
So, how about the durability after 5 months? Did it survive?
Thank you for this master :J
Armin, a question comparing this bow to Flagella Dei Scythian. Similar price and numbers on paper, which would you pick? p.s. great review as always, thanks for your efforts, Gus
Hi. I would go with this one, but in higher lbs
@@ArminHirmer wow! Quick reply, thank you! Your review of Flagella Scythian was very good, what makes this one even better, by comparison?
Do not question the great and all powerful Armin...
@@mattiasjohnson8087 😄 ... I only question because Armin knows a tonne more about archery .... love his reviews and tutorials. Right now I'm seeing two almost identical bows, and I'd greatly appreciate Armin's objective comparison ... why is one better than the other.
@@gussie88bunny I use the Flagella Scythian and like it very much. I have shot a couple of the Black Sada bows and was impressed. One was in virtually the identical poundage to my Scythian and suited me very well. Which is better? I couldn't say, I would be happy with either, IMO it's just personal preference though I do find the Scythian very easy to string.
Another nice bow
hello thanks for this vidéo, can you say me the best horsebow have to buy for begining archery? skb , or others? thanks
I did many videos about that, it always depends on your budget, which style you like, in which climate you live and what the max draw will be
@@ArminHirmer the budget isn't problem I would like one good bow because I have a big tendinite
i thought that laminated bow was better than bending fiberglass...but now i have different mind, thanks for the review
Depends, many have :) some not
Weird, my Sada looks a bit different: red string bridges a rounder tips
I bought one just over a year ago that is like you described, end of last year I bought another one in a lighter draw weight and it is like the one in the video, they seem to have dropped the quality of the finish in the second batch.
Hello, i want to ask if in the long run is it worth to buy this bow, or should i go with a tatar fiberglass from alibow?
It's a good bow,.we have two at the range every week. No problems
Thank you for the answer!
What is the draw weight at 23 inches?
Beware of the « 0pen button « curse !!..🙄
I bought this bow with 30# but i measured it and it has 38# lol.
Not very accurate Oak Ridge 😂
Yeah true. Mine 35# but like 41-42#. Very powerful bow
Hello, Mr. Armin. I was wondering if you could do a review of your previously owned bows, just as a comparrison whether this bow is still worth to shoot after years, etc.
Maybe a re review of your Hankyuu bow from sarmat archery? I would really love to see that or your other bows. Thank you. ❤🏹
For what it's worth, I just used the above arrowforge website address and there is no Sada bow on the resulting page. Using their search engine for Sada gives no results. Using it for Oakridge does give several bows from Oakridge, but no Sada. That's the situation for 2020 06 24 anyway.
Yes I know. One can still write them a message
I checked for the production place too. The place in Minnesota seems to only produce compound bows.
Any information about this?
Has the video been removed?
no
@@ArminHirmer Know I can see the video. For almost an hour when I tried to watch the video it only said "stream not available".
Excellent video as always!
This is SADA bamboo bow?
Dont know anymore
yes
😊👍👍👍
Mine just broke at the handle :(
Yeah quality control bis not the best there… sorry to hear
@@ArminHirmer Now I'm forced to watch plenty of your reviews again, hah!
I think I'll be getting one either from Alibow or AF archery next, but choosing is soooo hard
Were You careful with the bow? Did it broke by it's own (Bad Quality) or it was your fault?
@@braianramos4048 Yes I was careful, it broke on it's own, not catastrophically mind you, it didn't "explode" in my hands, but there's a nasty crack and I wouldn't dare shoot it again. Now I have a Kheshig and it's waaaaay better.
@@ArkhBaegor thankyou man, I was going to buy it but here (Argentina) it cost 400 us (insase for a cheap and bad quality product)
Made by Ali bow ? Those bows Sada, Hayk, Flint look all the same .

Hey Armin, in about 1 day I will make a custom bow for your review later, and when finished I will let you know via WhatsApp message
