- Today I test 3 New Han Fiberglass Bows by AF Archery in different poundages, from 25 to 50# and will check what the differences are (besides of course the draw weight) and if higher poundage fiberglass bows make sense. Join me on my trip to find out. The bows in general are great deal for the price, USD70 each, one cannot complain, the performance is great.

You could maybe compare the 25ld one to one of the cheap plastic horse bows. Just to see, both part of beginners market.
Thank you Mr.Armin for another great review! I always appreciate your work! Pretty good fiberglass bows.
They all look nice! My first crab bow made of fibreglass also had this cracking noise… made me a bit insecure that moment… the 40lbs bow seemed to be the nicest amongst this collection! Awesome!
Thank you for the review in the freezing cold, dear Armin! 👊😁
Recently I rediscovered how good fiberglass bows are, they are tuff, and more ancient looking than laminated ones, I have a kovàcs Magyar 74# at 30“ and it's very speedy using 650-700grain arrows, and recently got a fiberglass schiytian 57# at 28" a real survival bow.
But more handsook,ouch😆
Surprisingly or not with heavy700 grain arrows it's more efficient than the vègh Turkish...of course with 7-8gpp the Turkish is lightning fast..
I agree on this, they look more authentic, and they aren't sensitive for temperature changes.
We all have to start somewhere and these are cheap enough to practice some unusual techniques first before using your pride and joy 👍
I have a few fibreglass bows , and they are great for dropping into the boot of the car and forgetting about... I live in Australia and with the heat If I go shooting with any of my laminate bows I then have to take them with me when getting out of the car (a pain when shopping on the way home). A cheap fibreglass bow and a few arrows in the boot though and I'm set to go.
Nice comparison, thank you thank you 🙂 They're looking good and the base rice is pretty cool as well (and yeah... shipping makes it around the double) 👍
19:30 that dragonfly effect tho 😆
Great review, as always. Thanks Armin. 👍🙏
Another great review. ❤
Pretty good review.
I watched the AF “Crab” bow video that you made. I liked the look of that model.
I ordered mine off their website right after watching this. I have their original Han bow in 45#, so figured I would get the same so I can use the same arrows. I really like AF Archery's bows, the quality is really good for the money. Their shipping is nice and fast (I received my bow before the end of January). My only two complaints with them are the lack of information you get with the bow and the quality of their strings. The string length on their website says 48" and received one that was 124cm, and the center serving was way off center. Does anyone know the intended brace height?
Looks like a pretty nice bow for the price. thank you for the video. Do you mind me asking what glove you are using in this video? As a newbie to "asiatic" style archery I'm looking for some simple thumb protection.

Thank you for all these videos.
Can we imagine introductory courses in the practice of Asian archery with you as a teacher this summer or another season? A week to get started?
Camping or local accommodation depending on possibilities.
I would be honored to meet you.
sure thing, a weekend should be fine though. Just send me an email and we go from there (in the video description)
I went to their website, all look almost identical to Alibow, I wonder if they have the same factory?
Armin, they are claiming 34”-35” on their website. Did you feel the lower draw weights would do that without much stacking?
AF archery has a beautiful laminated Ming Bow. It has a 34" max draw. Would love to see a review on it soon.
yeah one needs to tell AF to send me one :D
I have their Hungarian bow in fiberglass. Love the way it shoots
Af Hungarian bow? They don't make Hungarian bow...
Hey Armin! There is a pin below the nocking point in the syah. I perched this bow 2 weeks ago as my first horse bow after shooting a heavy English long bow since I was 18.
The issue I have had with the bow is the string cutting into the nocking point at either end. I emailed AF and they said the pin in the syah is to account for it? However it is digging in a lot and has caused a clicking on fall draw. (I have pics if anyone needs them) Hope this helps, great eyes catching that little pin! Thanks for everything Armin!
interesting, thank you
Great comparison, thank you !!! Wich thumb protection do you use in this test? And you mentioned, that the bow can be stringed all time ? Is this generally possible for fiberglass bows?
it is the Korean glove by Freddie Archery and yes I leave many of my fiberglass bows strung :)
I would love to see more manchu bow reviews maybe even authentic manchu bow horn sinew wood etc
authentic means 80-120# ? too much for me :)
@@ArminHirmer hahaha no like warbow design but not 80 pound plus lol
@@17yearoldwarbowarcher a manchu in horn and sinew will only work great above 80#, it is designed for that
thank you
I like the look of the AF fiberglass bows--except for the hairy whipping! I like the natural fiber whipping but I would wish for a better grade of line.
yeah
I bought a 70lb at 28 fiberglass bow I wonder how well I get this badboy stringed :-D
The bow costs 70 dollars, and shipping to Germany is 85 dollars. 😪
Is there a good bow under 100 euros that I can buy in Germany? Do you have any suggestions for a beginner?
yes soon from me ;)
Did the bow handle bring you "wonderful touch feelings" as AF archery claim on their website?
Thank you for review also some not so expensive stuff. Me liky.
hahaha nice to touch, but not sure about that :D
Sehr geehrter Herr Hirmer, welchen Handschuh tragen Sie in diesem Video? Wo kann man den Handschuh kaufen? Danke
PS: Ich finde Ihre Videos total Klasse! Vielen Dank
Das ist der Korean glove von Freddie Archery www.koreanbow.com
I'd love to know what you think of the HAN bow from Hunting door ... its the 55" trad recurve. I thinks it's nicer to look at and I adore it for field in 50 lb, which ups when I draw my 32" .... sadly I don't have the resources ££ to send it for you to try but genuinely would love yoh to try it 😊
I think they have good quality, but I had some issues with higher poundages in the past.
It has beautiful slimming ears , although obviously not bearpaw glass ... PS how do you adjust your instinctive aiming so quickly for the different weight arrows? (obviously at the longer distances)
@@isis8618 instinctively I guess, you feel what you have in hands and your body seems to have an idea
Thats quite impressive for such simple and cheap bow.
I wonder if one could get more performance if one drilled the siyas to make them lighter.
I think so
I would suggest that you go to a marine store and buy blocks so that you can rig a 2:1 or 3:1 advantage on your bow drawing setup. I see you struggling to hold the rope while you bend over to read the poundage!
there would be even a crank on it...
What's a good bow for a beginner that's tall? My draw length is 32" and I'm 197 cm tall. Love this channel BTW ❤️
depends as usual on our budget, which style you like and what material the bow should be... too many options
@ArminHirmer I'm looking for a bow that's in the assyrian style that is around 200 usd. I tried some different weights and around 50lbs is about right and I don't really know anything about materials.
@@seanfitzgerld803 first off I would say that 50# is not really a beginners bows draw weight, but up to you. 200 USD will be hard. Vegh/Bogar has a laminated Assyrian bow, but they are 350 Euro I think and maybe hard to get in 50#. The others are all even. more expensive. For 200 USD you get most probably a decent fiberglass bow, But I dont know any in Assyrian design
It surprises me how much fibreglass can bend now
🔥🔥🔥
Pretty fast for beginner bow
what is ggp?
grains per pound
Its 10 below here,,how cold is it when your outside there?
don't know, just cold :D (after 13 years Malta)
❤❤❤
