First time I have heard of Autodoc. Just got the app prices look competitive. I have just used Brickwerks a vw specialist. Parts arrived next day but is also £9 odd for delivery. I also cleaned up my turbocharger, but didn't paint it. What brand etching primer did you use as many seem to be grey not silver?
Yeah autodoc very good,sometimes check the dimensions of what you order then look at the more detail on parts info,I usually try to make up a big order to make it worthwhile. I think the etching primer was simply sprays on Amazon, then the top coat was wheel silver,the black part of turbo I used stove paint,heat resistant stuff
Hi Mark, I’m thinking of replacing my turbo. Is there a lot of stripping to get at the bolts to remove it… looks like an octopus job when I look under the bonnet!
Hi mate you could try adjusting the rod,and see if it makes a difference. Just measure where it is currently, then you can put it back if it doesn't work

Yes it is a fair old job ,but as i was stripping the engine out it didnt matter.
Is that a 1.9td abl turbo? About to order the cartridge for mine

Cant the rod on the actuator be too short? Mine wont boost
