    Help! I'm Installing a Corsair cappellix H150 cooler on my Asus Crosshair VIII Hero. I'm very confused where to plug the single wire pump tach cable to the motherboard. It says to plug it into the CPU_fan header. All I see are 4 pin connections on the mother board. The wire coming off of the Capellix head is a single strand wire??? The only CPU_Fan header I see is located in the upper right corner of the mother board but it has 4PINS???

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  2 года назад +1

      yes, so the manual states Connect pump 24-pin cable to your Commander CORE, Connect pump tach cable to the CPU_FAN
      header on your motherboard. The Commander Core connects into a 4pin header, so it will control, the 3 pin is just for power as 3 pins will be full power, so the Commander Core would take care of the regulation. the CPU fan header has 4 pins, but notice is has a piece of plastic, looks kind of out of place but you will notice on the plastic piece, the fan header, there is 2 pieces of plastic sticking out, they fit in perfectly with the plastic on the motherboard to make sure you connect those 3 pins on the fan header correctly on that 4pin fan header. I hope this helps.

    Does this board have power to the front USB ports for charging devices with the computer shutdown?

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 года назад +1

      Every USB port provides power to the front ports, but the rear ports will always provide more power. To have your USB ports provide power to usb devices when the machine is off, in the device manager, for the USB Root Hubs (there are a few under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers", right click on the hub, then click properties, then click "Power Management" and uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and you should be good.

      @@ThisBytesForYou Yeah , i'm aware of the bios updates but thanks for the tips and this awesome presentation , meanwhile i'm gonna put the same CPU as you did on your video =)BTW, Would you recommend to put 3600 mhz ram ?

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 года назад +2

      for the 5800 I would recommend higher ,but focus on the timing, make sure your RAM has at least CL16, if not lower. Speed wise, 3600 should be the base, on the CPU I am using, the infinity fabric can only go that high (1800x2), for the 5800, it can go to 4000 (2000x2), so 3600 is base, the highest you can go is 4000 (without overclocking). The best situation would be 4000mhz RAM at CL14, that would be amazing.
      The newer Ageia BIOS' will also help with the Infinity fabric, so maybe we can go higher, i have not tested as of yet. Thanks so much for your support my friend, it means the world to me.

It seems they took the USB ports for the WIFI adapter on the Gaming. For me personally at least, since I use so many USB devices. The C8H also has a right angled USB3.0 header which is nice, the Gaming has it at the bottom, both can be hidden of course, but it is a preference. It seems they are essentially the same board though with minor differences. To me, it's the CH8, I hope I helped buddy.

    :)) I did not actually understand why this board is much expensive against a E strix-e gaming :) , apart that is nicely boxed and things wich are kinda the same to a lower ones.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 года назад +1

      Well the Crosshair has more USB ports, would be reliant on a southbridge chip, so extra cost both on the chip and the ports, it has better audio, if I am right, this board has phase cooling digi+ whereas the Strix-E does not (for better overclocking) those alone make up for a HUGE cost, and well, the box hahah. I hope that helps.

      @@ThisBytesForYou Thank for the response , wich i think you imagine i was already know. What is bizzare for me , everywhere is speaking about gaming, gaming rigs and so on. At the time of speaking here in europe the diference between this 2 boards is around 150-200£. tell me something...why i should buy a board wich cost 200 E more if i am building a new computer? to overclok it? Why i am buyng a new board then? As ryzen have support for other chipset. So if i am doing a new pc , then i am not looking for overclock it. even if i do that i will gain(for gaming speaking) 10fps? Oh and that on the already 200+fps i have w/o overcloking? :). Then usb ports...really? you have already twice as much a gamer will use in his setup. All the reviews out there is speaking about usb-s type c , 3 , 3.2 ,3.1 , and at the end of the build i really dont see much connected to the computer :))) and the ppl wich will really use all that stuff are less then 5% in my opinion. Oh yes if i am a content maker, but wait if i am going to build a computer for content, then i will not go for motherboard marketed as gaming. :)

      @ThisBytesForYou  3 года назад +1

      @@sz3r084 for me, many USB ports is important, I am not only a gamer, but I am a content creator, so its VERY important for all my devices, overclocks, I dont care about, but some people do, can you imagine if there was only 1 company selling one board, no innovation, thats why its good that there are so many different models with different features, trying to fill the void others do, some gamers will use all the ports, some wont, also, I received this board before the E series came out, and I have to work with what I am sent.
      as for pricing difference yes, there is a reason, as I mentioned, the differences, more usb ports, more chips, chips are not free, so they have to charge you for them, materials are not free, heatsinks, chips, usb ports, wiring, etc.
