Too bad you refused to communicate with the community at all about the x570-i gaming.
Ended up giving my money to gigabyte instead as a result.
Hopefully that's a lesson for you.
And hey at least they gave us a 6 phase instead an unnecessarily large 4 phase. At this price point, I think you could've afforded to either put the memory on a separate voltage controller and have done 8, or used the new 16 phase controller. Oh well. Your loss.

Was planning my PC build since January. I learned about AMD and I chose to do an Asus theme build inside a Cougar Conquer Essence case (anything with an Asus logo on it, AIO, GPU, MOBO, all of it). Initially I was going to go with a 2600x + Asus x470-I. I've instead chose to wait it out for the 3600x and hopefully a Asus x570-I. On launch day Asus launched everything BUT a board for the mini/micro market. Gigabyte Aorus however has a x570-I... And Im just about done waiting. I've now changed my plans to build an all Aorus Theme PC inside a Cougar Conqourer Essence case. Cpu cooler, gpu, rgb ram, nvme, psu, MOBO, peripherals, everything. So to Asus, might not mean a lot to you, but what I've listed right there is just under $3,000 Aud and It's going to Gigabyte Aorus because they have the board I need to start my build so now my PC will be Aorus themed. $3,000 might not be a lot but its $3,000 more in Gigabyte's pocket.

Its 2019, my raspberri pi has WiFi for gods sake. All the board manufacturers are cutting features in such weird ways to justify padding out the product stack. The fact the Hero comes with a separate WiFi variant for an additional £30 is bonkers. MSI and Gigabyte don't nickel and dime with silly crap like that on their upper midrange / premium boards. Asus shouldn't either.

I do not need WiFi because the router is under my desk and I use a cable to connect to it. For a notebook which I may use in another place, WiFi is obligatory, but not for a PC. I understand that other people may need it in their home, so I appreciate the different models. Better put heatsinks for every M.2 slot in models which cost more than $200 like the Prime X570-Pro. People may want to put two PCIe 4.0 NVME SSD, and a heatsink is required by the fastest drives.

Since many m.2 drives for PCIe4 are including integrated sinks that the lack of them already on the board is no issue. Not planning to run dual GPUs so it should be a big winner. Time to get rid of this Z77 and i5-3570k.

  • @selimusta5416

Hello ROG. I'm thinking of buying a new motherboard. My preference will be one of the Asus or MSI rear motherboards with x570 chipset. However, I have a few questions that I can't find the answer here.
1- I plan to use Asus hyper card for 4 m.2 nvme configuration. Which motherboards allow partitioning the PCIe slot as x4+x4+x4+x4. (Of course, on the Asus and MSI side.) I have another MSI motherboard (B550 Unify) and it unfortunately provides this configuration as x8 + x4 + x4.
2- Is there a processor factor in providing this partitioning we mentioned, or is it a situation related only to the chipset version. For some reason, the configuration is x4+x4+x4+x4 on the Ryzen 5 2600 processor and B550 Gaming Carbon Wifi motherboard at my workplace!
3- Finally, when we provide this configuration, what will be the result of the configuration when we plug the graphics card into the first slot and the hyper card into the second slot.

It’s a nice mobo lineup, but how is there not a water cooling option for the chipset on the formula? I thought it was meant for people who wanted to do custom water cooling, but if you include it for the VRMs you gotta include it on the chipset too. It just kinda sucks because those little fans for the chipset aren’t super reliable, and if that dies and you don’t know about it, you’ll kill your board. I’m an ROG fanboy and I like all the ROG stuff, but I think that would be a good solution for having to have active cooling on the chipset for the water cooling-centric board.
Also if the formula board does have water cooling for the chipset then I guess this whole comment is pointless and I’ve forgiven ASUS, but he didn’t mention it so I assumed it didn’t have it

Yes, there is a carefully programmed fan curve and it has been tuned for great balance in regards to cooling and acoustics. In most situations, it will operate under 25db. Furthermore, the Delta fan features a "superflo" bearing used is quite and produces less vibration and overall for most users is not going to be an audible part of there system. The charts show having already bought the ram, the hero board makes the most sense. However I would like to know. Can I technically RAID 0 3 drives from 2 PCI E ports at 8x each assuming identical drives? Will if im only using PCI E, 1 GPU, 2 SSD, 1 SSD, no NVME ports used, and a sata drive, run into any bottlenecks if so?
