Excellent choices, Steve. Thanks for making these motherboard videos, they really helped with my decision.
I picked up the Asus prime x570 pro for less than the x570 tuf.
Happy days.
Lucky you, you got the better of them ;)
I would have loved to see a graph at the end showing all the temps you recorded for the boards still a good informative video tho
Happy with my x570 taichi, the rgb is on point and the features are great.
Same! Solid feature set. The only negatives so far are the ok VRM temps and the Polysync software is bugged out for me.
Can you please Tell me some details about the SATA ports to pci-e m.2 drives?
X470 had the disadvantage of loosing 2 data ports per nvme m.2 used on the motherboard.
I would like to know if that has changed and by how much.
I need to plan ahead so i can keep my ODD in operation when i install my current drives into the case.
So far i got 1 nvme drive. And i need to keep my options open for 1 or more a big sata drive and or extra m.2 .
Considering the price of SSD's , price per GB.
For games and productivity i need alot of storage space 😀.
Your user experience feedback i would highly apreciate.
Technical English gets me confused at times with this m.2 tech linked on the chipset. As x570 mobo , the cpu would directly communicate and use the 1st m.2 drive bay.
Allowing the chipset to use all it's ports unless you install additionel m.2 drives.
Currently planning to use m.2 SATA SSD, 2x HDD till i can switch them out for bigger SSD's to aliviate my budget towards the new core components
im happy with my x370 taichi ,runs my 3800x absolutely fine (shows cores peaking to 4525mhz) and my ram went to 3600cl16 first try

Hello, do you like it after one year?
"you're not getting much except PCIe 4.0 which you're not going to need for quite some time"
Yet here I am not even a year later looking at x570 boards for both Ampere and PCIe 4.0 SSD lol
same
Same here, probably going for the first board.
Same, I go back to this video after that launch.
Honestly unless you're doing heavy video encoding or other workstation applications that's very storage speed intensive gaming wouldn't even really scratch the PCIe limit. Let alone 4.0.
ninja8077 Pretty sure pcie 4.0 is required for 3000 series cards
So based on your video I just bought the ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) mobo off ebay for 189.00 brand new. Amazon wanted to add over $16 dollars in tax. Thank you so much for your videos.
The ASUS TUF with WiFI is the board I bought. I'm watching this video on it. I have a 3700X CPU and tomorrow morning I will be installing my XFX 5700X THICC video card.
Bought the Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus (WiFi) because of your test on VRM (heat) and I do not regret it so far. Pretty silent and cool even under full load. Testet a few DIMMs and had no issues with it. So thank you very much HWUB
I love it when Hardware Unboxed recommend hardware that I have already bought. Their videos are also good for considering new purchases. Nice ending by the way 💨😂 P.S. When is the next Question Time? How are questions submitted etc?
Just built mine wth a Meg Ace X570 and love it. Lower chipset fan with zero fan mode. RGB works perfectly on board, ram and video card all using MSI Mystic Light. The Gigabyte X470 and Asus CH7 both gave me stability issues in the past.. Time to try MSI and so far its been great.
This Covid 19 situation really has messed with prices. Glad I picked up the Asus X570 TUF Gaming plus for $140 usd brand new. Asus Extreme is $1,269 usd brand new on 6/2020.
Check out the reviews for the x570 gigabyte boards on newegg. All of them. They are terrifying. 1/2 the boards, across all price ranges, had 21-22% 1 egg. A couple of their other boards had 40% 1 egg. So,1 out of 5 people had major problems with most of their x570 boards, and 2 out of 5 had major problems with at least 2 other x570 boards from them as well.
I'm running a GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS MASTER from 2018 now and haven't really had any problems, so I'm more than a little terrified to by the same MB and brand for the X570 build I'm putting together.
Odd that every single video I watch on which is the best X570 motherboard, doesn't cover actual customers unable to use the boards, problems, etc, AT ALL. Won't post, fried their ram, etc, etc. Newegg customers in general are the most knowledgeable pc builders out there, like me, so do you guys just exceptionally lucky and NEVER get a bad board?
You SHOULD add real user experiences with these boards too, or you're not being genuine and covering a large piece of the puzzle. Does it work, and is it a reliable board! Who wants to buy a lemon and spend 2 weeks troubleshooting and even longer with the RMA process?
How can you have real user experiences on new boards?
Been happy with my Gig Aorus Pro Wifi, got it for $250 with bundling on Newegg.
I did read that the ASRock boards had the wrong PPT and TDC limits reported (around half). I don't know if this was fixed but might be worth looking into.
@alaa mouh the only problems I've had so far have been with faulty memory of mine. The board itself has done really well. I don't like the more limited BLCK settings but it's not really a problem anymore now that we can disable spread spectrum.
If I had to do it again I'd get the same exact board.
VRM knowledge / emphasis on an active review channel? Subscribed so fast the mousepad burst into flames.
A MSI preproduction board apparently isn't one of them.
Lol good one
The two I like made the list. Good to hear, I'll feel better when I pull the trigger on one of them.
Excellent video , I really like the X570 Aorus Master.
I have it. Highly recommend
I was going toward the elite, but glad I picked the tuf, specially after those vrm temps reviews, and tha 36 bucks cheaper price I got on it was the icing on the cake
Yessss!! I got Taichi 👍bloody rippa. Bloody marvelous. Bloody good on me
sadly it cost like 3700x processor.
Got myself a R5 3600, ASRock x370 Gaming X and Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3000 (overclocked to 3800 16-19-11-26, FCLK 1900) for €415, couldn't be happier with the value. Upgraded from i5 760 so you can imagine the difference.

@@stuartandrews4344 I second that. But Gigabyte's BIOS is pure 💩, particularly in this chipset.
@@stuartandrews4344 I'll second that. I have this board and its been nothing but great so far and their BIOS has been great, as well as fast updates too. It's a shame their "utilities" such as RGB Fusion, SIV etc are a bit shit still lol
I really wish you had gone into more detail on the cheaper boards. You didn't really say exactly why the Asus board was better than the MSI board. Those are the two boards I'm considering right now and the only difference I can tell from looking at the spec sheets is that the MSI board is PCI-E 3.0 for the second m.2 slot but has the ability to upgrade the bios without a cpu installed. I was considering buying the MSI board and hanging on to it until Zen 3 comes out because mobos are constantly out of stock right now and I can upgrade it when the new cpus are out without needing a Zen 2 cpu.

@@Amirul_Zahin Hi, at early days i used to have one issue with my creative ae-5 sound card that sometimes pc didnt recognized it but after couple of months of windows updates and few bios updates i no longer have this issue. Aside from that no issues at all, i cannot hear chipset fan at all and my pc is very silent, gpu is covering it so i cant see if it spins or not. Also asus create suite (software for rgb) is complete trash, one issue with it is that i need to set up my custom lighting everytime i restart my pc so i gave up and left at unicorn barf setting. Overall id say dont think about chipset fans too much, they are extremely silent and stops when temps are in check. Aside from rgb trash software mobo is rock solid.

What about the gigabyte Aorus elite??
Exactly that's what I have and I'm running my 3900X on all cores @4.4Ghz using 1.386v....The Auros Elite is the MVP
I think it's the best at $200, too.
Been super happy with mine
Its mobo that explains why Aorus Pro shouldnt exist lol
Im after an Aorus elite wifi. Seems the only logical choice. Im only considering x570 because of compatibility. Bios seems to be an issue with b450/x470 and I suspect those chipsets will max out their bios chips, making updates/additions problematic. I also think zen 3 will likely be incompatible for anything below x570 should I wish to upgrade.
I'm surprised that the Aorus Elite wasn't mentioned (personally, I'd pick it over the TUF Gaming board but they're both good).
Might have been worth mentioning that some of the ASRock boards have Thunderbolt 3, though it's debatable whether such a feature belongs in a "best of" list, even though it _is_ unique for X570.
Otherwise, it's a good list. The only other thing that wasn't mentioned was mini-ITX boards, though I feel like that could easily be a separate video and discussion.
I love all your videos but this one with the closing statement and with a farting sound in the end was the cherry on the cake!
I have a MSI MPG x570 Gaming Plus, with a nice 3700X and Noctua cooler, with a pretty good air flow...and no problem taking my 4.5Ghz with PBO, no more than 55º after 8 hours of heavy gaming...so yeah, perhaps not the best VRAM composition but the heatsink is huge and very functional. Not even in summer I have seen 70º there. Totally fine.

Aorus elite? How is that? I was looking to get one.
Jinesh Soman from what buildzoid said, I believe that x570 elite is better since it has bios flashback and intel lan instead of realtek lan. I honestly dont get it why they put asus with bullshit marketing instead of actually a better board in real life scenario

For a 3600/X, 3700X and maybe 3800X could be nice. For 3900X or 3950X its a NO. Aorus Pro is the minimum IMO for 12/16 core CPUs. Its got VRMs from Aorus Ultra with the proper heatsink on them. Real efficient too resulting very very low VRM temps (

As an intel fan from more than 20 years i regret that i bought x570 with an Asus X570E gaming mb and this not because of the AMD (my 3700x is great) , but because of Asus and others mb manufactures that choose to put that 5 dollars vents to cool the x570 chipset instead of going for passive cooling and make a cooper link with vrm cooling like Aorus extreme mb have.
I bought Be Quiet 801 case with 5, 140 silent wings fans and for cpu, Noctua D15 and here come asus with 5 dollars cooler on more that 300 dollars mb and destroy all the silent and quality, and not even this but after 2 weeks of use that chipset 5 dollar cooler failed (simply broken) and now my new asus mb is on the service. All mb manufactures destroyed x570 platform with their trash chipset coolers. AMD should not allow this that mb manufactures to go with such a garbage active cooling.

Although I do agree with your pick of the Asus Tuf Gaming and their X570 -P boards, ALL of Gigabytes boards from the Aorus Elite up, deserve recommendation. Each and every one of those boards are just amazing. Gigabyte has really done a great job with these boards. And like you Steve, I am SO disappointed with MSI offerings. There's nothing in their lower to mid range lineup for anyone. This is a perfect example of why it never pays to be a FANBOY. MSI's B450 and X470 boards were just great, but their new lineup of X570's have much to be desired!!

The only reason i need an x570 is so that i can use an 3600
Steve, in my opinion, going for a X570 is not just for PCIe 4.0. I have a 3600X and got an Aorus Elite, not because of PCIe, but because of compatibility out of the box.
This is my first Ryzen CPU and on forums I could read many complaints of people not getting the board to work after a BIOS update.
Also, in some places, the price difference between X470 and X570 is not so big and X570 boards are good from the entry level, that can't be said for X470.
B450 is only made of Tomahawks and it is getting hard to find.
And last but not least, the 16MB BIOS on those board made me concerned about Ryzen 4000 compatibility.

I do quite like the X570 Aorus Master which is what I'm currently running with my 3700X. My only issue with this board is that there seems to be PWM fan/pump control issues just like I experienced on previous Crosshair boards from Asus. Also I wish Gigabyte included more USB 3 expansion on the back to make it more comparable to the Crosshair VIII.
X570 aorus master for 300 where i live lol
Edit: I bought an x570 aorus master, and although the motherboard is great the vrm is bound to get some pretty bad coil whine, still audible at 9 feet distance from the pc, louder than my fans, would highly suggest the board gets taken off the recommendations list as i have found at least 10 forum threads with 19 people who had an identical issue.
