Challenging course, your driving is certainly improving and we have all had that 18th hole experience, keep the videos coming as they are a great watch on a Saturday morning👍👍
Cheers Roland, I hope I can go back too. It will be interesting to see how different it plays in the summer, some people online are saying the greens are lightening fast then! Thanks for watching :-)
Tough to finish that way, but a really solid round on a beautiful layout. Question: have you thought about a wireless lapel mic so we can hear the on-course commentary better? Thanks!
Well done James, some good play on what can be a tricky course. I have played it a couple of times and actually played it a few days before you did - the greens didn't look that great on the video but they were pretty good in reality and, as you said, were sloping and quick. After you get past the first 3 holes, that almost feel 'stuck on' to the course, there are some super holes. I like the par 4 7th and 17th par 3. The long par 4 10th is a hard hole to get on in 2, can't believe that isn't index 1! You seem so confident with your putting and especially with those 5 and 6 footers - you just hole every one! 👍 I look forward to your next video!🏌♂
Cheers Johnny, I agree from the start you can see the 4th hole and it kind of makes you want to get to it sooner! Overall the course was so playable but it looked like if you missed in the wrong spot it could easily be a wrecked card. The 10th & 11th were world class par 4s and the par 3s were great. As for the putting it was an awakening missing by 5 ft past on the opening holes so I took extra care with the shorter ones later. Thanks for watching :-)
Another great example of playing within your game and getting a good score. Not a textbook swing, but it works for you, and results in a decent score. You stay in play, which I can't say for myself.
Keeping it in play is the key to my game. I do sacrifice yards off the tee but as long as be putting for par the scorecard keeps ticking over! Thanks for watching :-)
Great vid James. You should get some commission from Cavendish as you've got me planning when to play this interesting course haha! I also make every shot vids if you'd care to take a look :D
Looks a very interesting golf course. Can see that you are continually improving and getting more distance off the tee. Can see you reaching 12 handicap this year. Thanks for showing.
I think it is great how you talk through your shots, while filming and as a voice over. I would enjoy playing a round with you if you come to Canada, West Coast
👋 if your still in the area you should try Chapel-en-le-Frith - a good test and their Competition day is Sunday so bookings are available on Saturdays. It’s a lovely course with some very challenging holes and a picturesque hole around a huge reservoir
Looks like a great course! Some great shots as usual. From watching a host of your uploads you seem to have a natural talent for getting lucky with just avoiding unplayable lies. This is something you can’t teach! I seem be the other end of the scale when it comes to this, if there’s trouble I’ll find it! 😆 keep up the good work 👍
What a great looking course - some day (I hope!!!) I am amazed at the lack of power carts in your videos - walking is the way golf should be played, even at an advancing age.........what GPS are you using? thanks much for taking us along on your play
James! My first comment here, as a beginner golfer myself love to watch your video's in general very fun and educational. To bad on that last hole though you played a pretty solid game that day, i know that you shouldn't think about nr's and scores wilst playing golf but on the 18th if you would have finished with a bogey or a par you would have played under your handicap.. Don't know if you are playing a qualifying round wile playing and shooting a video?
Really enjoyed watching you play this course. Hole 10 is a beauty of a hole. Lovey chip on 13 and the near hole in one was awesome. I know it was a bit pricey, but I hope we get to see you play this one again. ⛳️
Yeah, hole 4 is a standout for sure. I was chatting to a member who always plays it as a 3 shotter as the approach is just riddled with danger. I'd wager a lot of scorecards have been ruined on that hole! Thanks for watching :-)
I was swinging driver the same way you were, got in with a new coach a few days ago and she convinced me to try full swings. The difference was nuts, got me back out over 200 consistently and had me set a new personal best at 230. Would love to see you belt some off at a full swing, bet you'd get out near 260.
Brilliant video as always james...unlucky not to get the hole in one...it will happen some day...also magnificent golf course...the par 3's are the best i have seen in a long time !
You were holing out like a Pro today, barely missed a thing from inside 10 feet. I love Cavendish, one of my favourite courses, although it looks like they're tarting it up a bit which is concerning, I guess that's why they've upped the green fees.. It's not overly long so is ideally suited to vintage and hickory play too.
Cheers mate, the course was better than I expected. Just a lot of fun where you kind of forget about the scorecard :-) The flat stick was behaving for the most part which was nice. Alister MacKenzie courses seem to be set up perfectly for my game. Not overly long with well defended greens but that's fine as my iron play is accurate for the most part. Might have to play a few more of his courses now! Thanks for watching!
Beauty of a course and a nice sub bogey golf round, could have been even better but for a lack of concentration on a few putts. 👍 I wish my scorecards had all those stat markers on them, would make things a ton easier.
Cheers Tony, I use the Golfshot app and it's great for looking back on your rounds. You can look over all the stats too which is good for seeing trends. Thanks for watching :-)
I pace every one of them out, it has become part of my putting routine and it's great to have the number in your head standing over the ball. For the closer ones I put the putter down on the ground and see from there. Thanks for watching! :-)
I assume you play other rounds in club competitions, socially with friends or just without the camera and am curious whether the camera has any impact on your play or your scores. I would have thought that setting up would be a distraction but you seem to play well on most of these course vlogs. Certainly replaying them must be a great learning aid particularly when it comes to course management. Your sand iron from the trees and your 4 wood from the rough were possibly the only slightly poor choices but otherwise your course management is excellent and I think getting better all the time.
Thanks Robsenga, watching back the shots is very helpful looking at things like alignment problems and club selection. To be honest I tend to play better on camera now than without it. It adds pressure in a good way where I have to concentrate on the shots. Setting up the tripod does take a little time but I'm used to it and it's part of my pre shot routine now. Thanks for watching :-)
Love the course. But don't you dare get a HIO before me. Been playing on and off for 30+ years. Now 48 with a single figure Handicap! supposedly!.... still havnt got one. 😞
Of course, on this day I got lucky from the tee on 5 and 8 but the rest were all fine. I sacrifice distance for keeping the ball in play and it is working for the most part! Thanks for watching :-)
Don’t be fooled by the short length of this course, it’s very difficult, lots of above & below lies and plenty of wind when I played it. It was a toil to be honest. A great challenge.
Cheers Mike, it takes ages to edit the videos. That's why I can only manage one a week usually. I might make a video on the process one day. Thanks for watching :-)
I bet if you turned around after your last hole and played the course again you’d do at least five strokes better, James. Beautiful course. They’re always harder the first time you play em
Hi James, I'm 17 handicapper, struggling with the low index 1-3, do you play these any different, tried playing conservative but always back fires on me.
I usually play long par 4s as 3 shots to get on or to the fringe of the green. For long par 3s I just smash the 3 iron or 4 wood to get it up there close to the green. I generally don't go all out from 170+ yards hitting hero shots to greens unless there is little to no danger. Thanks for watching :-)
Well this is possible the most wholesome content on RUclips, lovely stuff
Challenging course, your driving is certainly improving and we have all had that 18th hole experience, keep the videos coming as they are a great watch on a Saturday morning👍👍
Very interesting course with a lot of movement in the ground, especially on some of those par 3's. Great play!
Cheers Mike, I was happy with the score and the course was better than I expected. Thanks for watching :-)
Lots of smiles in this video. It looks like you had a blast playing this round.
Love watching your videos, James.
Cheers Joe, thanks for watching mate :-)
Brilliant James, love to watch your rounds. Another great setting for your golf. Keep it up pal!🏌️🏌️👍👍👍
Played the course a few years ago when I was holidaying in the peak District. Blimming loved it!
Well played James, looks a beautiful course. You played really well again James. Love your videos and all its content.
Nice chip on 13, this was a great course, and you played the best overall game yet. Keep it up, as always enjoyed watching.
Cheers Manny, I enjoyed the course a lot and was happy with the score! Thanks for watching :-)
Beautiful course and video work James!
The stretch from 7 to 17 was incredible. Well played!
Great video as always. Shame about the 18th but the 16th was a great effort. Keep the content coming! Cheers
Yeah, that's golf! I'm a 14 hcp player so a few blowup holes are not a surprise. Thanks for watching Tommy :-)
I’m only a 28 handicap so love to see how far you’ve come in a short amount of time. Cheers
Enjoy your round yes as other say your driving as very much improved keep doing them please good luck
Thanks Jams. Well played. Definitely a bucket list course.
Lovely stuff: Would love to play this one. Well played.
Another cracking course, and another cracking video thank you, hope you go back in the Summer, cheers.
Cheers Roland, I hope I can go back too. It will be interesting to see how different it plays in the summer, some people online are saying the greens are lightening fast then! Thanks for watching :-)
Very enjoyable video. Beautiful course. Nearly a hole in one! Thanks for posting.
Cheers Bob, this course was great I hope to go back there and play again in the summer. Thanks for watching :-)
What a WONDERFUL course ! Thanks so much for taking us along on your journey.
Happy Days, indeed !
Tough to finish that way, but a really solid round on a beautiful layout. Question: have you thought about a wireless lapel mic so we can hear the on-course commentary better? Thanks!
+1 on the improved audio request. Love your relaxed vibe 👍👍👍
Well done James....your golf just keeps on improving.....especially your short game and putting!
very good round James and your putting is so good thanks for the video.
Cheers Dirk, the flat stick was behaving for the most part! Thanks for watching :-)
Great round, James.
Stunning course and great consistent golf. Well done
What a tough course, well played James! Hope you had a nice pint after 18? Enjoy your videos!

@Not a Perfect Golfer I enjoy your videos. Cheers from Texas!
I spend the week waiting for your videos! Thanks!
Great vid James. You should get some commission from Cavendish as you've got me planning when to play this interesting course haha! I also make every shot vids if you'd care to take a look :D
Very good round on a beautiful course. Well done, James. Thanks for posting.
Cheers Randy, thanks for watching as always :-)
Looks a very interesting golf course. Can see that you are continually improving and getting more distance off the tee. Can see you reaching 12 handicap this year. Thanks for showing.
Really enjoyed that video. Only just found your channel and find your style very endearing. 👍
Watching your videos sets me up for the weekend. Keep them coming
I think it is great how you talk through your shots, while filming and as a voice over. I would enjoy playing a round with you if you come to Canada, West Coast
Cheers Jordan, hopefully if I keep improving I will be able to give better insights into the round. Thanks for watching :-)
Well played, nice course
Great Round!
Well done m8 your driving as improved gonna giv this course ago
Quality round James, loved the video and great choice of course. Looking forward to the next video!
The chip on 13 was brilliant too. Great imagination to bring it in off the hill. Excellent up and down for par.👍
Another great video and round
Hi James, ran across your video. Watched it. Enjoyed it. Subscribed.
I played this course back in November. Absolutely lovely course!
Great read on 13!
Well played!
Good round and on a course that's new to you.
Thanks for introducing us to some wonderful, unknown courses.
Cheers Jon, I'd like to make it over to Yorkshire at some point this year as there are tons of nice courses over that way too. Thanks for watching :-)
I must start playing some of these short courses. A lot more fun then slogging it out over the long ones.
Yeah, long par 4s are not much fun! Thanks for watching :-)
This is my favorite course I have seen you play so far. I wish I had such a great variety of courses where I live here in the USA.
Yeah, this was definitely a fun one! Not much not to like on this course :-)
👋 if your still in the area you should try Chapel-en-le-Frith - a good test and their
Competition day is Sunday so bookings are available on Saturdays. It’s a lovely course with some very challenging holes and a picturesque hole around a huge reservoir
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into that one! :-)
What a golf course that looks like! some cracking golf
it's a wonderful course, the greens are like lightning in the summer. well played!
Stunning course and some great golf. I really enjoyed this video. ⛳️⛳️
Congratulations on your birdie
excellent round James well played gutted for the 18th
Lucky there wasn't a clubhouse full of people watching or it might have been a 10! haha :-)
Well done James! solid game, notorious improvement from six month ago.
I like your understated attitude. If you got a hole in one you would say- Hole in one and we move on. These courses look interesting.
Looks like a great course! Some great shots as usual. From watching a host of your uploads you seem to have a natural talent for getting lucky with just avoiding unplayable lies. This is something you can’t teach! I seem be the other end of the scale when it comes to this, if there’s trouble I’ll find it! 😆 keep up the good work 👍
Your expression on number 3 after missing the short par putt is something I am very familiar with on all of my rounds of golf!
It happens to the best of us, my fault for not removing the pin! Thanks for watching
Another brilliant looking course James 👍 Great scoring there too. You equalled my PB of 83 😊
Another great video by far the best golf channel I always look forward to your vids
What a great looking course - some day (I hope!!!) I am amazed at the lack of power carts in your videos - walking is the way golf should be played, even at an advancing age.........what GPS are you using? thanks much for taking us along on your play
I use the Golfshot app on my phone for the GPS yardages. It helps a lot as you get front and back edges of the green too. Thanks for watching :-)
Thank you much
great round/vid
James! My first comment here, as a beginner golfer myself love to watch your video's in general very fun and educational.

Don't know if you are playing a qualifying round wile playing and shooting a video?
I use the Golfshot app to generate my handicap so yes this round counted. Thanks for watching and good luck with your golf game! :-)
Brilliant putting! Looks like a really nice course, excellent video 😎
Really enjoyed watching you play this course. Hole 10 is a beauty of a hole. Lovey chip on 13 and the near hole in one was awesome. I know it was a bit pricey, but I hope we get to see you play this one again. ⛳️

Brilliant video as always james...unlucky not to get the hole in one...it will happen some day...also magnificent golf course...the par 3's are the best i have seen in a long time !
Cheers Paul, those par 3s from elevated tees were just pure joy! Thanks watching :-)
Playing excellent well done
Good round and a picturesque course. Out course is a McKenzie course. It's a bit more than 30 quid though. 😀
Love that course you played it very well! Cabbage 🤣🤣
Well done looks like a lovely golf course
Great Video once again and Thx for the info about the golf course & price. Your putter was on fire. Well Played James
Lovely round on a very nice course. Have you ever played Church Stretton? If not look it up
Well played James, lot of good golf there and play deserved a better score
Brilliant back 9 James undone at 18 but still a great effort 👍🏻
I would love to see a hole in 1 on this channel. Love your videos!
Me too! Thanks for watching :-)
Well played James 👏
Nice back nine. Nice round. Are all the greens you play that bumpy?
The chip on 13 is one of your best caught on camera.
Cheers Chad, that one came off almost perfectly. I haven't had a greenside chip-in for ages on camera so I'm due one soon! Thanks for watching :-)
You pulling the pins, James 😊 Once bitten twice shy, huh? Lol
That one on 3 was in, totally robbed haha! :-)
Another nice course. Great views. Would have been nice to see you make an ace.
There's always next time! THanks for watching :-)
You were holing out like a Pro today, barely missed a thing from inside 10 feet.

Try Hazel Grove Golf Club pal. Also designed by McKenzie!
Hole 3 putting tested every bit of patience for the game
these greens are crazy furry, its amazing how well hes done with such ridiculous greens
Beauty of a course and a nice sub bogey golf round, could have been even better but for a lack of concentration on a few putts. 👍
I wish my scorecards had all those stat markers on them, would make things a ton easier.
Cheers Tony, I use the Golfshot app and it's great for looking back on your rounds. You can look over all the stats too which is good for seeing trends. Thanks for watching :-)
Hole 15... That's what keeps you coming back on the bad days.
It was by far the best par 3 shot I've hit on any of these videos! Thanks for watching :-)
How do you measure the distance of the putts? love the channel!
I pace every one of them out, it has become part of my putting routine and it's great to have the number in your head standing over the ball. For the closer ones I put the putter down on the ground and see from there. Thanks for watching! :-)

What did you have for breakfast James? So massive drives in there.
Love the course. But don't you dare get a HIO before me. Been playing on and off for 30+ years. Now 48 with a single figure Handicap! supposedly!.... still havnt got one. 😞
Great approach play and very enjoyable but tell me have you 'ever' lost a ball?
Of course, on this day I got lucky from the tee on 5 and 8 but the rest were all fine. I sacrifice distance for keeping the ball in play and it is working for the most part! Thanks for watching :-)
Don’t be fooled by the short length of this course, it’s very difficult, lots of above & below lies and plenty of wind when I played it. It was a toil to be honest. A great challenge.
Yeah, those bunkers looked really tough. Glad I didn't hit any of them on this day or the scorecard could have been toast! Thanks for watching :-)
I enjoy your videos very much. How much time does it take you to edit one round into a video?
Cheers Mike, it takes ages to edit the videos. That's why I can only manage one a week usually. I might make a video on the process one day. Thanks for watching :-)
Looks like a nice course. Curious how much is it?
Do you need permission to film on the courses? I know some members can get funny about it. Great vlog 👍
You should probably aim to break 85 now mr 14 handicapper. Next stop...Augusta!!
I bet if you turned around after your last hole and played the course again you’d do at least five strokes better, James. Beautiful course. They’re always harder the first time you play em
Cheers Paul, I was definitely pleased to not to be in the bunkers this day they looked tough going! Thanks for watching :-)
What do you use to produce the tracker on the video? Thanks
Shot tracer pro
Hi James, I'm 17 handicapper, struggling with the low index 1-3, do you play these any different, tried playing conservative but always back fires on me.

Thin it to win it. The best miss in my opinion.
