My top ten that I have been lucky to play 1 Barnbougle Dunes 2 Pinehurst No 2 3 Royal Hague 4 New South Wales 5 Utrecht de Pan 6 Woodhall Spa 7 Ganton 8 The Lakes Golf Club 9 Praia D'El Rey 10 Hunstanton
Come to Spain and will be able to show you some excellent courses Also next time you're at Wentworth, play the Edinburgh and East courses, worth it. The East is the original course and there are some beautiful holes.
8:38 Reminded me of a tourney I played a few weeks back where I was first to hit, the announcer introduces me to a crowd of only the group I was playing with, and I still got such bad nerves that I fatted my drive maybe 50 yards, pulled my hat down and walked off the tee box. I cannot imagine how much pressure having thousands of people watching has and you still managed to hit a right fine shot.
Spend four days in St. Andrews with three mates last year and it was awesome. The town is just magical. Didn’t get to play The Old Course, but it was so cool just sitting on the small steps behind the 18th green and watching one flight after another come in, while also watching people being nervous and excited about teeing off on the 1st. I probably remember that more than the 5 rounds of golf we played while there
Got to agree, played St Andrews on a winter ticket this February, we were laughing like kids all the way round. Shot my handicap on the Old Course in 40mph winds. Never been happier on a golf course in my whole life, as you say, a magical place. Brilliant value, three rounds on the New, Jubilee and Old courses for just 140 quid all in.
I live in the Vale of Glamorgan and I can tell you now, I am blessed. In the midst of a local lock down and I couldn't care less. A week off work and I've managed to play a different course every day with some to spare
Kington is in a stunning location as you said Pete, having lived about 15 mins away for many years, we would regularly take the dog up onto Hergest Ridge. I would often look longingly at the course wound round Bradnor hill on the other side of the valley. If the weather is anything other than perfect, good luck!
Great video Pete! Can’t wait to get back out playing again, here are my top 10: Sandwich, The Belfry (Brabazon), Walton Heath, The Old Course St. Andrews, Saint Saens, Littlestone, Hindhead, Royal Ashdown Forest (Old course), Rye and finally Woking.
When you do your week in aberdeen. Come to fortrose and rosemarkie golf course unreal location right next to the sea and can see dolphins on a good day while golfing
Awesome video mate, as I type this just watched the RCD clips back! What a day that was! Just what I needed to wet my appetite to get back on the course
I get what your saying about St.Andrews..I played it a few years ago, while standing on the putting green next to the first tee my knees were shaking. So nervous on the first tee never been like that before. So glad when I put my tee shot down the middle, pitched on 2 putts.. 17 & 18 really good. Then into town for a couple of pints. It has to be Scotland’s Disney Land, everyone walking around with Old Course bags. Bucket list course
This Peter is 1 of the many my favorite video that you and your crew has assembled. This was so not only entertaining but also informative. Just a thought you could rent this video to a tourist agency.
Peter, please in the future record more golf vlog, I so much enjoy seeing you playing in those beautiful course!! being lockdown in Mauritius so many golf course around waiting for being plaid.
I’ve got a trip booked to play royal Aberdeen and cruden bay in August your video whet my appetite more to go..... fingers crossed we’re back to some kind of normality by then! Great video Pete stay safe everyone!
Great video! And I really envy you living so close to that many great courses. The best I can remember playing in the UK and Ireland is Ballybunion. And the views were spectacular. Turnberry a close second. Keep those videos coming!
Me and my mate got a day ticket at royal Aberdeen. The weather was that bad we were the only on the course all day! Go 20 minutes further north and try Cruden Bay. Amazing course!!
I had the Kington course all to myself last week. IT was closed till 2pm because of high wind and rain. The sheep had invaded the greens because of lack of golfers. The flags had been removed to side of the greens to stop them breaking. But I enjoyed myself especially on 15th to 18th. The wind was dead against on the first. Fortunately I have played it in sunshine previously.
Old Course, Carnoustie, Wolfs Creek in Mesquite, Kingsbarns, Pebble Beach, Winstonlinks in Germany, Le National in France, Bears Best Las Vegas, Muirfield by Jack Nicklaus, Augusta, Leopard Creek in South Africa
I’ll do a top 5. 1. Kingsbarns! Incredible golf course 2. Moray old course. 3. Spey Valley 4. Old course, St. Andrews 5. Ballindalloch castle, for sentimental reasons
Would love to play St Andrews with my dad like you did. Can’t beat a father son round and would be amazing to play there one day with my own son who is due in 5 weeks. Loving your videos during lockdown and loving your swing 😍 inspiring me to get back out there and get my handicap back down once lockdown is over. Keep up the good work.
Living in Oman and play at Al Mouj which is an amazing course... one of my best places I’ve played. Great insight into your courses .... keep the great content coming Peter.
I love your choices of background music on your course vlogs and the drone shots are phenomenal. Thanks for taking this American to some amazing courses across the pond!
Great vid Mr Finch totally agree with Royal Aberdeen was also lucky enough to play Adare Manor but apart from the price thought the greens where a little to tricked up.As a Scot in Italy will give a little call out to Royal Park in Turin and also Biella also in the Piemonte region. My all time favorite has to be where I first started playing Aberdour ( you to played a match there ) just those first two holes with sea in front of you will stay with me till I die . Anyway stay safe and hopefully we’ll all be back to enjoying new adventures and old ones to on the course.
hi Pete, great video with lots of addional info about the surrounding area etc. I played Rosses point in county Sligo and really enjoyed that. many thanks
ok thats your top courses, but some of these are a bit out of our reach to play thats fine and thank you for showing them to us so maybe an idea for a vlog is doing courses around the UK that give the best value for pound so when i visit the uk ill know where to head in between the bigger named courses
Thank you Pete for the torture... Stunning courses! Greetings from northern Italy,where......tomorrow....golf.courses.....REOPEN!!!!!💥 Still cant believe it. And where did I leave my golf bag 2 months ago??
One place you really have to try is Old Head, just outside Kinsale, Ireland. Went for a trip last year, course was stunning as was the food/clubhouse. Never got the helicopter transfer however....
Amazing golf courses! As a Lisbon resident i can say that Praia D´el Rey is amazing but the surrounding golf courses - Royal Óbidos, west Cliffs, Bom Sucesso - are nothing less. Great review!
Pete, I live outside of Denver, Colorado right by the mountains. There are some amazing courses at really high elevations here. I’ve been lucky enough to play at Red Sky Ranch near Vail which gets up to 8,000 feet at the highest point on the course. If you ever make it out to Colorado, you should definitely check out some of the courses we have up in the mountains. They are pretty amazing
Great list! As a swedish golfer The Old course would be a Dream to play! My top 10 is: Torrey pines california Amfi tauro Gran Canaria Gardagolf country club Italy Barsebäck Sweden Kalmar Golfklubb Sweden Bormio Golf Italy Lanna Lodge golf resort sweden Omberg golfklubb sweden Zell am see Austria Ölands golfklubb sweden
I've not played any of the Royal courses, or many European courses really as I'm in the states, but can't argue St Andrews. Loved playing there. My top 10? Tough call and order switches around sometimes. 1-TPC Sawgrass 2-Wolf Creek 3-Kiawah Island 4-Bandon Trails(Bandon dunes resort) 5-Pacific Dunes 6-St Andrew's 7-Pinehurst #2 8-Torrey Pines 9-Bandon Dunes 10-Sand Hollow(Utah)
Living in Aberdeen glad to hear that a great you tuber as yourself has pick a local course as your no1 . So you only played 9 holes have you any intentions of coming back to play the course again. Plus I was lucky enough for the last game I played before lockdown was trump's Aberdeen. Just love it .
Great Video Pete! Royal Aberdeen is the one I want to play... I’m playing pretty much daily at Archerfield, Gullane, Craigielaw and in St. Andrews - but never in Aberdeen... !!! Currently in St. Andrews since lockdown has started - so tempting every day as the courses are in incredible shape!!!
Very enjoyable compilation of great courses to set back imagine playing during a lockdown situation. Thank you Peter, great job of verbally bringing each one to life.
Amazing list of courses, if you are ever back in Scotland, particularly Fife there are some fantastic courses. Burntisland is where I play, just along from aberdour where you have played before. It’s a beautiful golfing place
Top ten I've played. 1.Carnoustie Championship (play there every year, use to hate it! Love it now) 2. Gleneagles Centenary (just before 2014 Ryder Cup BMW event. Still got the Ryder cup wine I won) 3. Woburn Marquess (pro am) 4. The Dukes St Andrews (very Long Parkland course) 5. Rosemount Blairgowrie 6. Downfield Dundee 7. Scots Craig Tayport (The Worlds 13th oldest golf club) 8.Panmure Golf Club 9.Camperdown (i've grown up playing this course, now sadly closing) 10. Piperdam (Ive got to put down my current course?)
RE:Aberdeen if you visit Aberdeen add this to the list of courses to play, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Cullen and Newburgh and that's before you go inland to Ballater and Banchory
Great video Pete. I’m exactly the same regarding St Andrews, special place to me and always look forward to going there as part of our annual trip, playing in and around the area.
I visit the Mother in Law in Dundee 4 or 5 times a year, and sampled most of the courses around there! You are more than welcome to join when the doors reopen! Can show you a couple of gems too!!!
Great video! Always enjoy watching your content!! The courses outside Aberdeen in surrounding areas are amazing for example Newburgh GC, Cruden Bay GC all about 15-20mins from the centre.
Great video as usual, how about a video of your top ten UK courses to play under £75?.....or did I already miss it? As much as I love all those dream courses not very accessible for those who love golf but are restricted by budget.
There is one hole at Kington where you look down into a massive valley and if you are lucky you see RAF planes flying through the valley below you. Great stuff.
Wow! So emotional video, specially for me Wentworth (I’ve been there the last 5 years in a row for the Championship) and St. Andrews (where I would like to play at least one time in my life). Stay safe!
Great list , I’m looking to add to my courses played list over the next couple years, have 2 of the top rated courses in Canada within a 5 hour drive of me , Jasper Park Lodge and Banff Springs .. it’s shameful I’ve not gotten there.
Good list. Definitely going to try Praia D'el Rey at some point. I'm Head Pro at the other course in North Berwick, really underrated, gets forgotten about because the West Links is so popular, but the East Links or The Glen will not disappoint- very dramatic and some great holes. Well worth adding to an East Lothian trip
My top ten Pete, an if you’ve not played it my number 1 Tralee is an absolute must!, 1. Tralee 2. Waterville 3. Isle of Purbeck 4. Wentworth 5. Royal North Devon 6. Bally union 7. Killarney (Killeen Course) 8. Saunton Sands 9. Fern down 10. Royal Blackheath
Great video. Hope to make it over to the UK and play some of your stunning courses. Royal Aberdeen would be my first choice. My home course (Quarry Oaks) is opening with restrictions next week. 🇨🇦
Nice to see a fare share of links courses. A real true test of golf. My club is the only true links in South Africa, Humewood, the home of a few SA Opens. And very affordable
Had the pleasure of playing the West Course at Wentworth about 5 years ago courtesy of a relation of a relation who has been a long term member. An unbelievable experience for me. This was true “Millionaires’ Golf”. It was a week before the BMW and the course was immaculate. There were ground staff everywhere. Every divot was being filled as soon as moved on. I also have had the pleasure of playing the Edinburgh Course at Wentworth. Not so famous but once again a beautiful and challenging course.
Great places you have played Pete, it was sooo hard to do my top 10, i've been lucky to play a lot of the top 100 in England but my top 10 are: Willow Park Golf & Country Club (Calgary, Canada). Ailsa at Turnberry. Queens over the Kings at Gleneagles (controversial?). West Hill. Silloth on Solway. Hankley Common. Liphook. Hindhead. Bearwood Lakes. Camberley Heath. No1 has to be Sunningdale, can't/won't separate the Old & New... I've had to miss out on Close House, Tandridge, North Hants, Goswick, Blackmoor and many more, but my top 10 is on experience, and being in ore of the surroundings.. This was a lot harder than I thought... oh and my own course at Matfen Hall 👍
Great video Pete. They all looked amazing. I've just started to the get the golf buzz back after a good few years out. I've started to compile a bucket list for myself and a few of these are now on there. Keep up the great work.
Really interesting list Pete. While we are in lockdown how about taking it a step further and doing a list of your top 10 holes? the 11th at Hillside takes some beating for me but would be good to know what you think
My top 10 in no particular order :- Hillside Royal Birkdale West Lancs Moortown Silloth Celtic Manor 2010 Royal Lytham Southport & Ainsdale Belfry (Brabazon) Royal Liverpool (Close but as it’s very new just outside The JCB)
Good list, member of top Surrey Course and play most of them each year. So, apart from Wentworth and Sunningdale Courses here’s a list of excellent courses in the area ish. Swinley Forest, The Berkshire, St George’s Hills, New Zealand, Worplesdon (stunning), West Hill, Woking, Hankley Common ( fantastic), Hindhead, Queenwood ( harder to get on than Wentworth) Foxhills (5 mins from Wentworth 2 great courses) - add in Burghill, West Byfleet and crikey so many - if I had to pick one after Sunningdale, go to Hankley Common, then Worplesdon👍 Nice Video Pete, also played Nelson not too long a go on my travels, interesting!
Great video Peter, would love to play all the courses on your list but especially Torrey and St Andrews. The top 5 courses I have played are Vale de Lobo Ocean Course, Pinhal and Vila Sol in Portugal, Harmony Golf Preserve in Florida and Forest Pines in Lincolnshire
Have you ever played Beau Desert in Staffordshire Pete? It's a real treat. Also Wallasey round the corner from Royal Liverpool. Better than RL if you ask me with one of the best vistas for a tee shot on the 4th. Course I'd love to play is Carnoustie. One day I hope. Also Pebble Beach...I've been there as a tourist but playing it is an absolute dream.
I'm a junior so I haven't played at many places. But I do have a top 8. 1 Woking 2 The Addington 3 Cavendish 4 Knole Park 5 Celtic Manor (Montgomerie) 6 Foxhills (Longcross) 7 Matlock 8 Painswick
Nice course collection Peter though worburn would of been on there. You said about Scotland tumour for a week sounds like a great idea you should make it a tour with subscribers so we can play along side you would be an amazing week 👍
Very interesting Peter. I've played Adare several times before the revamp but 450 is a mad price. You should put the European Club in your diary it may make your top ten. It's not cheap either though!
Great list..even though I have only played 3 of the courses..Obviously, there are so many great courses in UK..On the mainland, I would count in Troia Golf in Portugal, Valderrama in Spain, Le Grande Motte in France, Falkenstein in Hamburg, Germany and Silkeborg Golf club in Denmark:-)
Super video, I’d love to play some of them , but what I am doing next year , when in the UK is play Aberdour. Saw that video ,that too looks super . Keep up the good work , still learning from you & Rick ⛳️🏌🏾

I played West Lancs a couple of years back. That was some experience. Remington in Kissimee is quite memorable for me! Excellent vid BTW. Stay safe!
Just to clarify - we always repaired or own divots but the green staff came behind and ensured professional repairs were completed.
You should play Forfar on your next trip up to Aberdeen! The First 18 hole course from conception, unique and very scottish
Well done Peter......that must've been a big moment for you, and you got on that tee and ripped you're drive👏
Great video Pete. They all looked amazing. I've just started to the get the golf buzz back after a good few years out. I've started to compile a bucket list for myself and a few of these are now on there. Keep up the great work.
I really need to get around to playing more courses once life is back to normal! These all look great, Pete!!
Really interesting list Pete. While we are in lockdown how about taking it a step further and doing a list of your top 10 holes? the 11th at Hillside takes some beating for me but would be good to know what you think
My top 10 in no particular order :-
Hillside
Royal Birkdale
West Lancs
Moortown
Silloth
Celtic Manor 2010
Royal Lytham
Southport & Ainsdale
Belfry (Brabazon)
Royal Liverpool
(Close but as it’s very new just outside The JCB)
Man I love this Pete! Talk about some serious inspiration.
1 Woking
2 The Addington
3 Cavendish
4 Knole Park
5 Celtic Manor (Montgomerie)
6 Foxhills (Longcross)
7 Matlock
8 Painswick
If you want a course with a backdrop, have you tried killarny co kerry, probably can't be matched on a sunny day
This is an awesome video, hope to be able to play a few of these courses one day!
Nice course collection Peter though worburn would of been on there. You said about Scotland tumour for a week sounds like a great idea you should make it a tour with subscribers so we can play along side you would be an amazing week 👍
you MUST go to Old Head if you head over to Ireland again , just incredible
Pete been watching you for years now what editing software do you use? Your edits are amazing!
Lovely courses. Great video mate! Hello from America! Would love to host you on some of the amazing courses here in Pinehurst, NC.
Never played a lynx course but that's gonna change that as soon as this lockdown is over , great video some of them courses look fantastic.
That must be the one where you have to wear Darren Clarke's aftershave.
Made me proud to be Northern Irish seeing Royal County Down and Royal Portrush in your top 10 ⛳⛳
Super video, I’d love to play some of them , but what I am doing next year , when in the UK is play Aberdour. Saw that video ,that too looks super . Keep up the good work , still learning from you & Rick ⛳️🏌🏾
Great video Pete. You should do a review of all the courses that you play every Xmas
