    One of my favourite courses, I try and play it at least once a year.
    It looks easy on paper, but it's so easy to rack up some big numbers, keeps you on your toes all the way round.

      @@ClassicGolfClubs stunning isn’t it. I think a lot of people would see the yardage and think it’s easy like you see, but you really have to plot your way round it. I can’t wait to go back. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Great video! The society I'm President of play this course every year as our Masters and it's one of our majors which means we play medal format. It's always the highlight of the calendar. Last years greens were just incredibly fast and the course incredibly interesting. On the 11th hole, I filled my water bottle with some of the running water that you cross - possibly the nicest water you'll ever drink. For your first time playing Cavendish, I thouught you played very well.

      Thank you so much for your comment Simon, I really enjoyed playing the course and making the video. I was pleasantly surprised how I played, and to get a birdie was a huge bonus!
      Sounds like a great idea regarding your society, to have Cavendish in the diary every year must be so exciting. I’m really looking forward to playing there again, I still can’t believe what great value it is!

      @@reloadgolf1 where do you travel from and what’s your handicap?

    • @reloadgolf1
      @reloadgolf1  5 месяцев назад

      We travelled from Leicestershire, I think it took about an hour and a half but it was a very scenic drive.
      Handicap wise I’ve only started back playing the last year (I used to play when I was a kid) so I’ve not got one yet, but I’d say I’m around a 15 handicap. Hopefully I can work on the short game a bit and can brain it down.
      How about yourself?

      @@reloadgolf1 the majority of our society is based in Leeds with a few from Liverpool - so the Leeds lads have longer to travel to get to Cavendish. We all agree that the drive in is one of the most scenic drives you'll ever do and builds up the excitement as you get 30 minutes or so away. May I recommend playing Nefyn if you haven't, just be sure to book to get on the old course called 'The Point.'
      As for handicap, in the society I was 14.7 but after a major win at Leasowe earlier this month, I've been cut to 11.1. We play Cavendish in June, that shot shave is really going to hinder my chances of winning there.

      Thank you for the recommendation, I’ve heard good things from a few about Nefyn so I’ll definitely be trying to get there asap!
      Congratulations on the win but not so much on the reduction! 😂😂 good luck in June and let me know how you get on, and of course have an amazing time!

    I wouldn’t normally watch a hole by hole video of someone else’s round, but I really enjoyed that. It was a shame about the occasional error in judgement that cost you dear in your scoring, as you had the basis of a good round. If I may say, more of a positive belief in yourself and a more realistic club selection needed at times! The course looks fantastic. I’ve never played it, but I’m definitely going to now. Thanks for a great video.

      Thanks so much for the lovely comment Andy, really nice to hear you enjoyed it! It’s an incredible course, I’d definitely recommend going and playing it.
      You’re right about the attitude and club selection, I need to try and make sure one bad shot doesn’t affect the next one! Thanks again.

    On hole 5 why did you take a 3 iron from that lie?? You said yourself u couldn’t get there so why not take a 6 iron and just get it near?? Just wanted to get your thought process that’s all 👍

    • @reloadgolf1
      @reloadgolf1  Месяц назад +1

      I’ll be honest Daniel I don’t think there was much thought process if I’m honest! 😂😂 It was never going to happen but I think blind optimism made me hope I was wrong and I somehow found an extra 30 yards from nowhere, but looking back you’re absolutely right, I should’ve hit a 6 iron and left a full shot in so I was less likely to go in the bunker. Thanks for the comment!
