Yeah did a lot of research before buying the RMax and once fully inclosed it will be exactly what I want ; cabin 1 mile back in the woods ; rain ,snow or heat I’ll make it there !!!
Nice ride I have an RMax 2022 1000 ( with boat foam on inside of roof) All torn down : doing boom mat on whole under side and 1700 degree heat shield on top of that Hoping for great results !!
I have owned the KRX for a year now and can honestly say, the ride quality is awesome. I really don’t notice the length of the KRX 4 until I get to a switch back. Usually have to back up once to make the turn.
8500 miles on my 21 4seater live valve, rides great with 4 big people in it,way too stiff riding alone or with my 100lb dog ,tender springs dont soften enough to notice on live valve ,dont waste 5cents on them, sent my shocks to gforce racing in tennessee this winter, hoping they make a world of difference, I put on 31" all terrain tires with aftermarket rims at around the 1000mile mark, big improvement. Had the up shift switch break on me so i ordered 2 of the paddle switch harnesses cause it will break again cause i drive mostly in manual. Also put a prefilter inside the airbox to catch the dust that fills the $45 factory air filter in one day in dusty conditions. I really like how quiet it is cruising 40-50mph ,do a lot of rrbed running here in northern maine, i would never buy a cvt machine as long as there are manual transmission options out there
Believe it or not I can across your RUclips channel ;(after the purchase )and by golly I believe it’s your old one , all the same scratches … was really relieved it wasn’t abused ; it started and idled like a new one so I purchased it ..
Just saw your comment on the other video. I’m selling this one now as well, as it just isn’t what we’re looking for, I’ll be posting another video whenever I pick what’s next and get a few good rides in.
I did. Weller clutch weights to lower rpm, and it did. Also heat shielding and sound deadening under the machine, and boat decking Eva foam on the roof.
How was the power output compared to the rmax? I had a 2020 LV 4 Seater and went back to a razor. Loved the Honda but I am looking at the 4 seater Rmax XTR now
@@mingomane1 haha yeah I don’t want to make that guy mad lol😂 he has a ton of great info on the Rmax, and it’s a great machine. I’m actually in the process of selling this talon. Not a bad machine but not best for us
Honda is in their infancy in regards to their SXS's. I had a Pioneer 1000-3. I was very un impressed with how they cut corners on the fit & finish of the doors & tilting bed. It was quiet until you really start getting after it then it really didn't seem to be that much quieter than the Rmax. Roll cage was rusting in only a couple years in the "Desert" so that was another downfall. The front suspension tabs are known to pull off or break. I didn't have that issue but the group I am in I see that posted on a monthly basis at least & these are not lifted or portalled out machines. Many are in their stock configuration. Honestly if my experience was any better than what it was with my Pioneer, I'd probably look at one but Honda failed horribly at some very simple items. Oh, do you have the 1970's cable 4 wheel drive actuated system like the pioneers have. Holy shiz what a joke. Last but not least. I never cared to much on the constant shifting & the erky jerky gear changes.
The talon is push button 4wd. And yea the shifting is annoying if you let it shift itself without tuning it. I always ran my pioneer and talon in manual while trail riding.
@willym0351 Thank you for the helpful comparisons! Now that you've had time spent in both, than sold both, thinking back out of the 2 which do you like best and why?
@@sectr8747 if I could do the additional muffler on the Rmax then I would pick that one. Other than the cabin noise, the Rmax was a far nicer machine. As far as build quality and creature comfort. Talon could be that nice with quite a bit of elbow grease and a little budget.
Thanks for comparison. I’m looking at both. Like RMax but hate loud machines.
Me too man. There are people fabbing up another muffler on the Rmax and it seems to quiet it down quite a bit

I did the same thing by the end of my Rmax, wasn’t enough for me but you may have better luck!
I have no experience with talon or rmax but about to pull the trigger on KRX 4. I’m looking for the best ride possible due to my lower back issues.
From what I hear the KRX is hard to beat for ride quality. Best of luck!
I like the KRX a lot but riding HM with a lot of switchbacks I think it will be too long

Tender springs made a pretty decent difference for me. I sold this machine last year, but the tender springs helped

My RMAX? Loved that machine

Did you ever try the weller racing clutch setup to quiet down the rmax?
I did. Weller clutch weights to lower rpm, and it did. Also heat shielding and sound deadening under the machine, and boat decking Eva foam on the roof.
How does the sound in the cab conpare in the talon vs the Rmax? I have an rmax4 1000 and absolutely hate how loud it is in the cab
The talon is only quieter because you can shift up and keep rpms low while cruising. It is a big difference.
The Rmax needs an over drive gear 😊

Talon feels quicker for sure, could be because it’s quite a bit lighter. Rmax was no slouch though
Traded my Rmax 4 for the new Kawaski Teryx KRX 4 ….I love that longer wheel base….rides so much better than my Rmax did. Good looking machine!!!
What did you get for the RMAX
