We love the RMAX2. Now we know where to send viewers looking for information on how it compares to the RMAX4. We'll have to watch this one start to finish!..... OK, watched it. Solid. 🤘 Really liked the RMAX4 owner's perspective. Both looked fun sliding around in the snow.
I picked the RMAX4 LE for my family. I needed the 4 seats for kids and dog. Also the added benefit of a covered cargo area. Don't regret it for a second ! I LOVE my YAMAHA ! 🇺🇸🇨🇦
Bought ''23 Wolverine X4 850 XT-R to bring family/friends when available. Awesome ride for us, coming from a two-up atv. Being nearly 70, we didn't need the extra power, seems just as fun and more economical with the 850. Quietness was also a factor. My passengers fell asleep cruising a rail-trail. No issues and my smile is as wide as the trail. Happy Trails to all.
Still no complaints with my Rmax 2 SE. Drive it, clean it, maintenance it when needed, respect it, Don’t abuse it and it will keep giving for many a years. Liking all your videos. Keep em coming.
I love my RMAX Sport. It's extremely capable and can hand with most sport UTVs. In technical tasks I usually can handle it better and see better lines than my friends and when things open up I am really not far behind
I purchased a Rmax4 in 2022. My wife and I are the caretakers at Rubicon Springs on the Rubicon Trail. We use this machine all the time. It gets us in and out to Lake Tahoe and we have used it for medical emergencies as well. Great machine. The only additional things we put on it was slightly larger tires better suited for rocks and a full skid plate.
I have an Rmax4 and have spent some time in and worked on some Rmax2’s in my shop. I find the 2 seater to be much more squirrelly and lest planted then the Rmax 4 and I don’t like it. Yes, I picked the 4 as a family hauler and came from the 850 Wolverine X4 but I would still pick the 4 seater over the 2 even if it wasn’t a family hauler as it just fells more stable. I dont really have use for a dump bed so I also prefer having a roof over my cargo area and the rear seats can come clear out with only 8 bolts which is also an awesome advantage over the 2 seater.
Rmax2 XT-R for us has been great! The lack of storage wasn’t really a huge deal, but I did mount the Yamaha cargo box in the dump bed and now have plenty!
I really wanted an Rmax as a former Wolverine X4SE owner but also needed a dumping cargo box on my new unit and still needed 4 seats. Went with the Can Am Commander Max XTP....its a nice unit but just not the same level of quality as the Yamaha. If Yamaha would be build an Rmax 4 with a dump box I would be in line to buy one.
I can't Agree with your friend enough. The Rmax 4 is at the top of my list right now, I have two small kids (and a dog haha) and I hope to bring them with me on my day and camping trips, but I have Zero interest in the long wheel base 4 Seat SXS's, they look like a school bus going down the trail and I personally like the slower, tighter more technical trails over blasting fire roads. Isn't the Kawasaki Teryx the only other short wheel base 4 seater? and although I like them and they are rugged machines, they haven't changed in years..... and really aren't comparable to the Rmax other than being short wheel base. Anyway thanks for the videos as always DT ! When yahs come to New Brunswick, I'd love to take you around Sussex, maybe do a lobster dinner at Martin head Island. Cheers !
My reason for buying the 2023 RMAX2 is because my only other option was a Honda pioneer😂and the RMAX2 is such a sweet machine and for all the cool features you get with it it’s really the best bang for your buck in getting a new side by side, I’ve always wanted a razr but I feel like they’re not as good as they once were.
I wanted the RMAX4, my wife didn’t like the tight bucket seats. We bought the Viking instead. I have a Yamaha pull start generator but an electric start Yamaha snowblower.
love the video with the owners take. i would love to see this comparison with rmax's 1000's vs wolverine 850's. I think that is what people compare alot. is it worth going to the 1000 vs the 850 for their riding style.
I sold an 850 x2 and got a 1000 x4 xtr. Wish I had kept my 850. X4 is louder, suspension squeaks, they are in no way perfect like everyone says. I,m not sure it 10k worth thed difference.
@@jeffsites2428 That's why I went with the 850 X2 because of the price difference but at the time I got mine in 2021 the price difference was only $6000 (and I'm being sarcastic) between 850 R-spec and 1000 R-spec. Of course the XTR and Limited was much more.
@@jeffsites2428 i test drove the rmax and it was loud. like going back to my old can am maverick. the extra power is nice but made no difference in the tight trails i ride in. maybe biggest complaint on the rmax4 is it is too tall. it doesnt fit in most trailers and smacks all the trees in the tight trails.
Ugh. I've always been a Honda guy and am ready to buy a new sport SxS. If 2013 Honda Talons were available I'd get one but they're not (as of April 2023). Is the '23 Yamaha Rmax gonna disappoint me? or be awesome? Thanx
I have a 2021 limted edition and I am second guessing my purchase. My iqs suspension has been broken for 6+ months and I have the extended warranty and yamaha still can not provide me with the parts to fix it. I understand parts shortages but when yamaha can pump out brand new machines to put on the showroom floor but not support the machines that are broken under warranty is putting a bad taste in my mouth may be my last yamaha. Also in the video he mentioned tender springs yamaha needs to fix that as well look in your video brand new machine comes with mashed flat springs out of the box.
I really wanted an RMAX4 till we sat in the back seats. The tunnel/hump that goes between the seats takes up too much room. I am a smaller guy and I felt cramped if the tunnel was lower or flat where you could spread your legs apart would be a lot better. if you have young kids, I don't think it would be a problem but for adults felt tight, I may be wrong and once you get in and start riding you would not notice but we didn't want to take the chance. just my option thanks as always for all the great content.
I'm wanting to order an Rmax from my dealer but still can't get this issue straightened away...is the Canadian LE the equivalent to the Limited in the US ?...I'm not ordering one till the dealer can tell me this for sure as I'm looking for the auto suspension switch from inside the cab.
We do not have the stereo system and the adventure pro screen in Canada on either the SE model or the limited. Just the paint and electronic controlled shocks.
I just kept checking the dealer websites and after 2 months I found one that someone got tired of waiting for and bought something else. It was just by chance
@@POHLHAMMER yes, the sales of the machines are calming down. People are hurting from the economic state. So they raised prices when everyone was buying, now they aren't buying like before but the prices will never go back down. That's what I was saying.

What did you use for the cargo area? A rear windshield, and if so, what kind? Or the optional cargo box? Have you been happy with the machine overall?

Yea I got real lucky the Rmax4 came out when I needed a 4 seater. I DONT want to drive a bus through the woods

I just bought a 23 Rmax LE today. I’m from New Brunswick as well! Moncton area.
Love my Teryx4 S for adult seating in the back and still having some room to carry stuff while they are back there.
Our 22 Rmax 2 LE has been awesome 🤟🏼
Great comparison. I wasn't considering a 4 seater until I watched this. Thank you.
Really have enjoyed the Rmax sport ! It’s been great quality & great fun
Thanks alot for your videos and very educated comparison. After much research and many youtube videos I have purchased the Rmax 1000.

great interview both of you guys top notch
Thank you so much!!!
I want one more model! Rmax2 extended cab just 6-8” more behind the seat. More leg room. And room for a sweat shirt behind the seat
Awesome review, now if Yamaha could just send some 4 seaters up here so we can buy them that would be great. End of March MAYBE for an SE .

I’ve learned over the years not to include the wife in decisions!!!!😮😂

Agreed! And a Mudder! AND a twin cylinder pure sport!!
