You'll learn to love that touchy throttle, it's a driver's car; the throttle is connected directly to the tires, unlike a belt drive. Like others, I rest my foot against the tunnel.
I keep my foot against the side wall and it really helps with hoppy pedal. I knew you would like it. It’s a whole different experience. Never gonna compare to a turbo razor or canal. But at the price point I am very happy with the Talon x. Great series
The throttle just takes some getting used to I bet you will like it when u drive it enough the choppy areas it helps me to rub my boot against the side floor board it helps to steady it
Throttle Maxx for the touchy throttle. It attaches to the gas pedal and hinges down to the floor to help keep your foot from bouncing. I designed and 3D printed my own with a treadplate pattern.
As some others said tender springs help. They make a foot rest that "helps" but you will get used to it. The talon throttle is just significantly more sensitive then what most people are used to.
Great first ride on the Talon! I'm so excited to see what you guys put this thing through. Hoping you get into some trails where you can use high gear. It drives completely different in high vs low. I see all the comments about bracing your foot against the tunnel to control the throttle. I also found that putting adhesive backed foam pads where my knees hit the door and center console helps stabilize things -- allows you to push your legs out and keep them from flopping around. Also don't know what's up with the 4WD light, but you do want the brakes to do their thing when you lift a tire -- that's how you get power down to the one on the ground. It only applies the brake to the one that's spinning too fast.
Open up the rear shocks and start playing with the shim stacks. The rear valving on the talon is set up pretty stiff from factory the front is acceptable stock
Awesome perspective of going from Polaris/Can am to Honda as far as CVT vs transmission and different feel of the machines. It will likely just take time to get used to the feel of the throttle, but there are foot rests that might be interesting to try. As a simple addition, a shift gate is useful. Looking forward to see the continued build: ?tune? shock therapy? turbo?
Had a 19 Talon X. Pretty much hated it. The high pitched drive train howl was deafening, the factory suspension was brutal. Even after $1500 worth of Shock Therapy suspension work it was just marginal. The instrumentation panel is terrible and near useless especially when it gets dirty. The DTC transmission has its place, but the constant up and down shifting on mountain trails was a constant irritation and if you forget to switch to Manual on a loose surface hill climb it will start shifting up and kill your momentum immediately! The super sensitive throttle made driving on rough trails a neck jerking ordeal. My wife hated the Talon! I sold it and bought a 22 RZR XP 1000 Trails and Rocks and the only thing I miss about the Talon is the down hill descent control. For whatever reasons Polaris felt a Trails and Rocks edition didn’t need the hill desent feature. Go figure! Gotta say though, the exhaust on your Talon sounds great!
It's so weird how different people hear things. My wife thinks the Talon is really loud compared to a Can-Am or RZR but I feel like the others are louder. The Talon sounds just like most of the big Japanese motorcycles, to me.
@@theingobeck4772 it wasn’t the exhaust sound on the Talon that was loud, it was the drive train noise. Mine, and many others I know of had a really high pitched whine when driving at speed, that was deafening. Drove me to installing $1500 Rugged Radio with head sets to protect our ears and so we could communicate.
You can get a foot rester if you want it. The I 4wd actually disables the hill brake assist mine does it on occasions I’m not really sure on the cause but after I get up to speed it usally goes away
One u can cut the throttle pedal to make it a better angle! They also make foot supports for the floor to help support your foot and third option is get used to it imo u will get used to it Iv been there done that! My biggest complaint and main reason for getting rid of my talon is crappy power steering and turning radius!
I known it's been a bit but y'all started off banging gears in yxz's. My buddy has a talon and we could not figure out the touchy throttle either. Can't wait to see a Talon proper beat down 👍
A block for your heal to rest on is the best remedy for the throttle pedal touchiness. There are some out there. AJK off-road makes one I think. But I honestly used a 5-6” piece of 2x6 with an angle for your heal to rest on, painted it black and screwed it to the floor. It makes a world of difference!!!! I hated the pedal now it is awesome
This is where the Talon shines because you can get the rpm’s up which helps out the I4wd but I will be curious what your accessment of it in the slow technicall stuff will be. I have driven them and ridden in them more and I can’t stand how “jerky jerky” they are. I don’t say any of this to bash the talon because I do like it and they are very capable machines and all machines have their strengths and weaknesses.
Contact trinity or power vision about a different tune. You should be able to get adjust the throttle by wire feel with the power vision you guys installed! Great video and cant wait for the next one
The R and the 4 seat X have close to the same turn radius.. The 2 seat X is alot better.. You get use to the choppy pedal or keep it pinned.. Climbing in manual is best, I use high manual 1st alot.. The factory shocks are choppy at low speeds but seem smoother the harder you go.. You will find it overall to be a tough and fun unit.. Great stuff guys.. 👍 We have some decent Talon content on my nephews channel... 👍👍👍 #teamwaxoffroad #staciescountrycooking
Great review guys I have a 2020 x and the bucking is the feedback though the suspension mostly the tender springs. Did a Shock Therapy spring kit helped a lot and the DCT it is a little torquer than the CTV...limiter all the way.... side notes have the turbo on mine...
@@BlownBudgetOffroad I'm running a tune from Hess and it makes the automatic mode shift points really nice. I'm only running 32's but makes a night and day difference. Great content, thanks for sharing.
I almost never use low, even on super steep hills, but then again I’m usually in the desert or western (drier) mountains. Also if you change out the springs the touchy throttle goes away.
They make a i-4wd delete. Idk what it does or the advantages or disadvantages. Been waiting for this video!!!!! Cant wait to see it get the crap beat outof it!!! KEEP IT OUTSIDE’N!!!!
is that skid plate a trail armor kit? and by now have you had any problems getting caught on bolts? i don't know if that trailarmor kit or rock sliders would be better for this hardcore stuff? what do you pros think?
Man that rig is prime for a sick wrap. You should do green and white Blown Budget wrap show your colors. Then beat the crap out of it,because its a honda 😆😅

Biggest improvement on mine for touchy throttle was the combo of tender springs, ajk footrest, and 32s. Plus seat time. It’s drastically improved
Well I am glad you guys got the talon. i been really leaning to getting one. They seem pretty impressive for what they are.
Glad to see Planet SxS ...... bought my wheels and tires from there several months ago .....blow off valve, too ..... Great company !!!!!!!

Great video!! It's so good to see you guys together having this much fun again!!
I added an extra spring to the gas pedal, helped it out some.
AJK has a foot rest. I put it on mine and it gave me so much throttle control. Highly recommend
you get used to the throttle after a while. hold your foot to the right and rub the tunnel to smooth it out a bit.

Race fuel prices don’t fluctuate like regular gas and diesel does. It stays around 8.50$ to 10$ a gallon.
Great video guys, one of your best I think that there better when you all talk more. Great job

I’m a talon owner you guys are riding aftermarket buggies against a stock buggy not a fair at all
Really enjoyed this video. Different trail riding then you normally film. Much more entertaining. Keep it coming!

You can reset the i4wd light with a jump wire under the drivers seat. A few videos on youtube
I know this is the talon beat down, but would be interesting to hear Justin's opinion of polaris vs can-am too
Ajk makes a foot pedastol that some people says it helps, other than that you will get used to the throttle with more seat time
When Justin got coated thru Josh's nonlower door...I lost it
Awesome job putting the nightmare back together and not blown diff off road again

Make a blown budget talon decal preferably with some red in it and ill buy a few for sure look good on my talon
"Can we get a cage soon" This is becoming a habit!!! Laughed my ass off and spit my coffee!! Great video.
Damn.. wished I would have know you were at the Cliffs again. I used to work there. Its about 20 mins from my house.
Those I4wd will always come on and off of it. It’s a talon problem but it doesn’t change the performance at all
Different companies makes heel plates....I hated mine on rocks until I installed one...
Awesome job guys!! I am glad to see you back in Club limiter!! And I am excited to see the Talon in action!

Yeah buddy 👍👌💪. I have been waiting for this video. Frickin awesome. Stay safe. God bless you all.
Let’s go BRANDON
Pedal commander. If they make it for a talon. U can plus and minus sensitivity. Kinda like eco mode on a x3.
Great review guys I have a 2020 x and the bucking is the feedback though the suspension mostly the tender springs. Did a Shock Therapy spring kit helped a lot and the DCT it is a little torquer than the CTV...limiter all the way.... side notes have the turbo on mine...
I love how it sounds almost like the Honda 450 quads sound. I kinda miss those days but I’m old and fat now. So I’ll stay in my Turbo S lol
5.75$ for diesel😒 with the trails 30 miles from my house last weekend was $120 day trip not counting breaking both front axles in the x3😩
Need a tune to help the shift points with those larger tires. Makes a huge improvement. The throttle is just something you get used to.
It has a tune
@@BlownBudgetOffroad I'm running a tune from Hess and it makes the automatic mode shift points really nice. I'm only running 32's but makes a night and day difference. Great content, thanks for sharing.
AJK off-road has a front rest, put one on my talon and made a huge difference.
You’ll get use to the pedal heck I never leave low u top at at 45 so I just keep banging gears lol
Love seeing a Honda added to the group!!
Vid was lit, the Talon just sounds dope man, I have an x3 but dang club limiter is badass!
I almost never use low, even on super steep hills, but then again I’m usually in the desert or western (drier) mountains. Also if you change out the springs the touchy throttle goes away.
Pretty cool 😎 , It's really cool seeing 👀 a Honda on the trail. Just Wish Yamaha had something worthy of what you put these machines through.
did you guys consider a different front diff when you replaced it?aybe getting rid of the I 4wheel drive?
You'll get used to the throttle, a true 32" tire takes a little of hit off. Should be a direct swap with the x3 for wheels and tires.
Nah, my buddy Cole rolls his Talon all the time, cage still fine haha
This video is awesome. I’m gonna try to get my riding group to play musical chairs with our machines
Yeah...for the way you guys ride. Going to need a full I4WD delete. I was surprised when you put in the new diff, you didn't make the upgrade then.
As far as touchy gas pedal just go faster. Faster you go the smoother it gets. Lol
Hell yeah brother really fun to see the talon get beat on a little and can't wait to see how it takes more abuse!
The Talon rips sounds good .
They make a i-4wd delete. Idk what it does or the advantages or disadvantages. Been waiting for this video!!!!! Cant wait to see it get the crap beat outof it!!! KEEP IT OUTSIDE’N!!!!
I think the low gear range on the Talon is 40%. If your Polaris RZR is a High Lifter edition you get a 55% reduction in low range.
Try the throttle Max on the gas pedal
awesome video guys!
Love to hear you banging the gears!! Limiter!!!!!
Yeah was waiting for this day!!! LIMITER!
32s really help the touchy throttle.
Run it in sport mode. Try that next time.
Do you guys miss y’all yxz’s?
What are the tire/wheel combo on the Talon used in this video. That is the best off-road exhaust I have heard. Intoxicating.
try it in sport mode changes the shift points
Sport mode only works in high range, most of the video they were in low
I love this channel
That i4x4 over ride switch from Hess motorsports will solve the 3 wheel drive problem for ya boys🤷♂️
Love the talon videos
we run in high nearly all the time unless were pulling big hills or crawling
Great video yall
is that skid plate a trail armor kit? and by now have you had any problems getting caught on bolts? i don't know if that trailarmor kit or rock sliders would be better for this hardcore stuff? what do you pros think?
I thought I seen somewhere a programmer -tuner that reduces the sensitivity since its ride by wire, but I could be wrong
its cable actuated
Billy mom called she wants her helmet back.
Do y’all normally ride in low in the RZR?
Use a stronger return spring on the gas peddle
Finally! At last!
all the talon guys will say it ain't that bad for the turning radious lol
I run mine in high if I'm just cruising trails helps with touchy throttle in my opinion low when you need it and hold it on limiter
What’s hold it to limiter mean
Good stuff 👍
Just got one
Get the foot rest. Night and day different on control
Just wondering how you guys like the sound bar you put in the Talon?
Man that rig is prime for a sick wrap. You should do green and white Blown Budget wrap show your colors. Then beat the crap out of it,because its a honda 😆😅
35s on the Honda talon for sure
I had 35” 370s on mine and it was not a fan of them, just too heavy
@@wtwoffroad buddy of mine has 35 zillas on his works great but yes heavy
How do you like the Talon vs the YXZ ?
So is the CVT better for trail riding despite the shortcomings of a belt?
So which used one would you guys buy? Talon or RZR
Pedal commander?
That dam rev limiter sucks. to bad you can’t get more top end out of the talon it sounds so good
The talon She barks just ol crf 450R thing Rips an sounds mean
Where did you guys go riding?
Finally!!!!
You’ll get use to the throttle
Turbo s with no lower doors in the mud = no buenno! Lol
