im doing my graduation project from a very similiar scene and this video has helped so so much! you couldn't have posted it at a more perfect time. thank you so much
Really loving your content and teaching style, Grant. I've been recommending you to friends as the first place to go when learning Blender. Keep up the great work!
Wow! You're excellent at modeling and a fantastic artist. I am a big fan of your work! I have purchased several of your courses and look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
Hi Grant, nice tutorial, looks cozy and cute so I guess you’ve just half-finished my part in this Christmas/New Year preparations, just to add PF text and finito. I wanna ask you a question if I can - have you considered recording some intermediate or advanced course with complex high or mid poly model and maybe with some tricky shapes to show us topology workflow? And you’d be my personal Hero if you even unhide some of your secrets on how to deal with objects where multiple (or too many) meshes are just not the option? For animation for example. I really like your teaching style you are by far my most favourite lecturer and your calm and positive attitude is one of the very few things that are able to decrease my stress level which is constantly shouting at me that I am too slow and need to push more, force my lazy bottom to work harder, better and faster. You should be Blender Guru, literally, something like “Meditating magic relax skills of spiritual teacher Grant and chacra… unbuttoning…s meet Blender” courses . So I like your style and persona but I am tired of doing beginner’s stuff all over again so I usually use your techniques I see for something mine I need for another project. But it always ends up with something big, with dozens of hours involved so I got tired overwhelmed with two or thee big multiple apps projects and it takes me very long time to finish any of your courseS. Especially as I am not sure half of the time I am doing it right and effective. I feel like I am stagnating for a very long time, too long in fact. And time is the most valuable commodity as nobody have enough of it. Well I am sure there are more of me-like people who need to find the right path to move to another level and feel they have some kind of Blender (is life) crisis. I dare to say there will be enough people on gamedev.net and udemy looking for something similar. Or still looking for teacher that suits them. Ok, I see I’ve written another novel, sorry, guess I am this boomer. Anyway, whether you’ll decide to prepare something or not, I wanna thank you for your good work.👍
@@grabbitt heh, I was sure I answered. I finished half of it but then went away. Thanks for reminding it to me, I surely can finish it to find myself some direction. Especially hard surface parts are worth to (re)check. Still, if you weren't sure what the topic of course to choose someday, I and surely more of your students would enjoy some intermediate/advanced stuff. 😉

I express my gratitude for this wonderful tutorial!👋👋 I am very impressed by the activity of the video. One small question... How it can be reduce the "weight" of snow? It takes up a lot of space and slows down the computer.
I love your content :) when you model, you insert objects into others. Do you know how to fix this quickly to optimize the model for a game, for example?
I followed the tutorial as much as possible but my snow ends up looking like frosted donut glazing when i do the final render, instead of textured or matte at least. What did I miss?
Hello Grant, I hope you're having a happy, productive today?! I'm taking your, wonderful, course, about, animation and rigging. Another winner! I recently bought Character Creator 4, it only works on a PC, so I traded in my Macbook Pro for a PC laptop. I still have my Apple desktop, but I'm in the process of selling it and buying a PC desktop from Amazon. So now here's my question - scrolling through the adverts on Amazon - I was puzzled to see pictures of black boxes with no screens. Is it the case that you can buy separates?
Grant: in this video you talk about cycles >gpu and denoiser optix, for some reason after loading nvidia drivers 555.99 ( this happened with studio and game ready drives) blender gets hung up when switching to these settings in render preview mode then crashes when trying to switch back. I rolled driver back to 551.86 anyone else having any issues with 555.99 ?
@@grabbitt I am currently using Blender 4.1 and have not tried 4.1.1 yet. (this is with a Threadripper 1950x and a 4080 super) The interesting bit is that driver 555.99 has notes about renders etc but caused me the problems mentioned in this conversation. are you using nvidia 555.99 ?
Hello Grant Abbitt ! I hope you are fine and thanks for all those inspiring tutorials 🐸🙏 May I know when the "Blender Animation & Rigging: Bring Your Creations To Life" will be updated to Blender 4.0 please ? The chapter marker you have where it cuts to the finished scene, the chapter number and title and the short musical melody. Sorry, that was annoying after 3 or 4 times but you done it 28 times. Just a fade from black into the next part with the number and text would of been enough in my book

Yes that's fine. It's best to say inspired by or I used these assets when its a portfolio piece to let potential employers know.
Just curious as to how this took you from the sketch to the final render?
I think around 6-8 hours
How do you add that vertices with this pencil? What key I have to press to enable it
K for knife tool

It's actually OK and in some cases preferable to have overlap. But booleans is one solution

Yes. You generally buy the PC base unit separately to the monitor and peripherals such as keyboard and mouse
Forgive my ignorance. The video started with a sketch. Was that sketch created IN Blender? If so how did you access the sketch interface?
It was in krita
