Terrific reaction. Another great Patrick Swayze film: "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar." It co-stars Wesley Snipes and John Leguizamo, all 3 hilarious in drag. Sweet, funny, charming comedy.
This movie was so big that year! And years after! The villain (Tony Goldwyn) voiced Tarzen in the Disney cartoon. He has one of the most sexiest voices...😍 and he has aged so well.
@ezelldaniels6064 90s was a great decade for film, probably the last great decade. This was rushed to the cinema because Spielberg was making a similar film at the same time but with a very different take. You probably already know that but just in case, for the flip side 'Always' is good... And it's Audrey Hepburn's last film role.
I used to avoid crying in public (I'd been programmed to believe the B.S. that crying in public makes a man look weak. When in fact it's usually the opposite, when a man is confident enough to show his emotions.) So I avoided watching tear-jerkers at the movies. Ghost was released when I was 24, and I went to watch it with a friend. Neither of us knew it was a tear-jerker. And we cried. It was such a good feeling to do that at the movies. One of the many reasons I love this film.
You know who also did a good job? Rick Aviles (Willie Lopez). In real life he’s a stand-up comedian. Unfortunately he passed away not that long after this movie.
Agree! I applaud actors and actresses who play the villains and are so convincing. They make you believe that's how they really are. Rick Aviles and Tony Goldwyn were both fantastic in these roles.
Whoopi's first movie role was "The Color Purple" which was definitely NOT a comedy. Many felt she should have won an Oscar for that role. Patrick insisted on her for the role of Oda Mae but the studio didn't want her. He fought for her and won. She was nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar and won.
Jonathan is so knowledgeable about screenplay structure, so emotionally open and appreciative, and so all-around entertaining to share a movie with... his "Field of Dreams" reaction will probably never be topped, but each of these is a great pleasure. I'm subscribed to this channel, but pretty much ignore most all the reactions except for his. Give this man his own channel!
This is my favorite movie of all time. My partner and love of my life and I saw this movie in the theater when it first came out in 1990. We both cried off and on during the movie, and especially at the scene when Patrick was able to finally touch Demi via Whoopie. Absolutely beautiful, magnificent and a profound film. My sweetheart passed in April of last year, 2023. And, believe me, this is real. She comes to me even now at times - literally just a thought away - and we still talk and I can feel her touch. This is REAL! And our song was/is/ and will forever be UNCHAINED MELODY. I cannot watch this movie without crying off and on throughout the whole movie even though I've seen it countless times now. And I know that I'll one day soon be with my love, the love of my life, forever. I'm 65+ now. She was 69 when she dropped her body a year ago April. I'll be with her soon. This is the best movie ever!!! And the song, UNCHAINED MELODY, ohhhhh wow.
The song “Unchained Melody” actually returned to the charts after this movie. A really fun Whoopi Goldberg movie is “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”. Lots of laughs.
This is such a great movie, but Sam's single line of "cyanide" makes me laugh so hard every single time! The guy's just having so much fun watching Carl squirm.
Whoopi and Patrick had amazing chemistry here. Probably because they did become close in real life. He fought for her to be in the movie and told the producers he wouldn't do it if they didn't cast her. She was gutted when he passed away. P.S., I think this may be Whoopi's second-best role. She was amazing in The Color Purple. 💜
56:09 It's ironic that you are singing "The Time of My Life" and then the REAL love theme, "Unchained Melody" comes on because "The TOML" was sung by Jennifer Warnes and Bill Medley, and "Unchained Melody" was sung by The Righteous Brothers...half of which was Bill Medley.
When Jonathan got angry to Carl almost kissing demi moore best response ever and the ditto reaction at the end such great reaction best ghost reaction ever
Great reaction Jonathan to a Patrick Swayze classic Had many women crying and drooling when it came out. I also the movie was very funny too by whoopi. Big thumbs up I think the pottery training classes got more popular too that year. RIP Patrick Swayze
"Paramount. Because there is a mountain". 🤣Tremendous geographical, spiritual, philosophical insight 🤣🤣🤣 By the way, what happened to the sound? The movie sound seems to come from a telephone booth 500 yards away.
The Outsiders is a good Patrick Swayze film. It's not just Patrick. It's an all star cast. A movie about social class & what "side of the tracks" you live on.
It's very refreshing to see a movie buff BE GENUINELY SURPRISED in a film; it's happened at least twice in the first 15 minutes: the mirror shot AND the gunshot victim reveal ... meaning the director was very skillful in doling out clues, laying false trails, faking-out the viewer. Thank you, PR, for a serious yet entertaining, fun reaction video! A technical word, Sir: the sound quality wavers during the video; from clearly heard to mumbles and back to normal; repeat throughout the production. Is there something you can check on to make the sound quality solid start-to-finish? The subway ghost is played by Vincent Schiavelli; he also had a role in "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest." Sam knows where Oda Mae lives because he spent an evening singing "I'm Henry the Eighth" to her! In your epilog, it's obvious that all the parts meshed perfectly for your viewing (and hearing) pleasure!
I saw this movie on opening day, and later I took a couple of friends I considered like siblings. I remember I told them they had to pay attention, and to prove they would, they put me between the two of them. I clearly remember them saying, “If we die, will you miss us?” I said no, because they weren’t letting me watch the movie. I don’t remember the exact date we went to see it in the theater, but it was between December 15 and 20, 1990. On December 29, 1990, a Saturday, we were all together when an accident happened-she was shot in the head and passed away. A week later, he came to my house, devastated, asking for forgiveness, and then he went home and took his own life. Since they watched that movie with me, I saw it many times afterward because her parents and several other people wanted to see it with me. It was a very difficult time, and this movie really reminds me of those friends.
Please react to Too Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar” it’s such a sweet and touching movie and Patrick like you have never seen him before 😊
"Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing" are my top favorite Patrick Swayze films. He's beautiful in these films, absolutely brilliant! "Red Dawn" 1984, is another Patrick Swayze film and he is also in "The Outsiders" 1983 as well.
I recommend adding The Outsiders (1983) to your watch list, starring Patrick Swayze and a bunch of super young popular actors. This film and Dirty Dancing are my top Swayze rewatch movies. 🥰
Hi, Tuning in from the West of Scotland, UK. You’ll love this one it’s a classic. My fave character in this is Whoopi Goldberg’s character. Take care 😘🏴
Red Dawn is a great movie with an All Star cast where the shirt doesn’t come off either… lol… my 1st introduction to Patrick where I absolutely fell in love was the North and South miniseries…. I would love for that reaction!!!!!!
Groovy flick. It really, really was. Please play "My Cousin Vinny" with Marisa Tomei and Joe Pesci. Thank you so very much young man. Have a Blessed Evening. Adios.
Best part was when Carl was being so cringey moving on Demi and you were yelling, “Shut up!!!!!!!!”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love the end too! 😭🤧🤧🤧😭😭😭 You’re my favorite reactor as of today!!!! I’ll have some requests that you’ll love.💕 why don’t you have your own channel???? I want to watch you all the time!!!!!!!
Swayze was good in Red Dawn, The Outsiders. The Outsiders had such a big cast. Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillion, Diane Lane.
Whoopi Goldberg won a best actress oscar for her role in this. At the time, she was only the second black woman to win a best actress oscar since Hattie McDaniel won for Gone with the Wind in 1939.This was a great reaction
Well, there is _The Outsiders_ (1984), Francis Ford Coppola’s film of S. E. Hinton’s novel starring Swayze and most of the young male actors of the early ‘80s who made it to the big time (to varying degrees) during the next decade.
It's what Demi Moore has said after she read the script for Ghost for the first time. She thought the movie can turn out amazing or it can be a disaster. The movie transitions into a comedy, a thriller, and a romance. She wasn't sure how they can blend those elements together. Thankfully, it did. She said the same thing about the movie 'The Substance.' It can be amazing or a disaster.
Great reaction! My friends and I saw Ghost TWICE on opening day when it came out. Other peak Swayze films to check out are Red Dawn and The Outsiders. Although you likely won't watch a mini-series for the channel, any Swayze fan must watch North and South from the mid-80's, which is really his breakout role.

I saw this movie at a drive-in with my parents when I was very young. It scarred me. Those demons pulling the bad guys to hell. I had nightmares for years and years. Watching the movie now, the effects look so cheesy. But hearing the screeches they make pulls me back to being a scared kid again.
@Micheal-ur4nt + I'm sorry you experienced that. I don't know if your fear was strictly because of the sounds & visuals, or if you simply weren't spiritually protected as a child, or if someone taught you the "so called" Gospel, with some scary Hellfire & Brimstone yelling & preaching, or some other religious based fear tactic, or what...? But lots of people have been scared as children of the Bible, & some of it's teachings, & specifically I think, HOW it's taught. Let me tell you, once you truly understand the point of it, once you have a deep relationship with the Almighty, & understand his nature, his character, & how he operates, once you reach that place of understanding, then you've reached the other side of fear, where you're on the inside looking out, & feel completely safe in the Presence of the Lord. 1 John 4:18 (NKJV) "18 There is no fear in love; but PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR, because fear has to do with punishment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." If you have a loving gun carrying father, who is protective, & doesn't take any sh*t from anybody, & who lives out in the wilderness, & teaches you how to responsibly handle a gun, & how to fish, & grow crops, & live off the land, (or if you can imagine that kind of Father), then you should have a better understanding of the point of the Bible. A man who lives in the wilderness, where there are bears, wolves, & mountain lions, moose, & elk, & doesn't want any harm to come to his son, is going to teach him, equip him, arm him young, & teach him survival. He'll teach him what to do when faced with or approached by wildlife. He'll teach him what to do if he gets lost & stranded, in the heat, in the cold, etc. Well, dangerous wildlife physically represents spiritual demons. Demons cannot safely come into the Fathers presence just whenever they want to, however they want. There is hierarchy, regiment, & protocol, just like the physical military here on earth. And if you are constantly in the Presence of God, that severely limits the demons ability to sway, influence, scare, & harass you. Just like traveling in numbers, or with an experienced guide, in the wilderness, decreases chances of attack by a wild animal. A mountain lion for instance is intelligent & opportunistic. So they will stalk you in the trees & hills & mountains until you are alone, or until there is a big enough separation between you & your entourage. I hope I'm making sense. The Bible is not scary, if you understand it. God is not scary if you are in right relationship with Him, & demons are not scary, if you understand their limitations & how to battle them. Otherwise - they are very scary, & actually CAN do a lot of harm. They can tempt or influence you, & if given enough leeway, & a big enough doorway, they can indwell you, & cause you to do things that could ultimately lead to your death. Read your Bible & Pray. Prayer opens the scriptures to our understanding. Reading your Bible & Praying, allows us to hear the voice of God. Don't get your thinking & opinions from hearsay from others, about the Bible. Read it for yourself, & find out what it has to say. Ask/Accept Jesus Christ into your heart, to be Lord & Savior of your Life. And after you've done that, get Baptized as soon as you can. Full body immersion, in the Name of the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit. The Bible is an instruction manual, complete with stories, parables, & examples. It is also Living & Active. Like a seed. If you hold an apple seed in your hand, it's tiny. It appears to be inanimate. But if you plant it in the ground, & water & fertilize, & care for it, it grows into a tree, able to feed many for years to come. And when you eat from it, it becomes a part of you. I plea the Blood of Jesus over you, & claim you as my inheritance in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, & ask the Lord to free you completely from the trauma this movie caused you growing up, & for complete & total restoration & healing to you body, mind, spirit, & soul. I pray that he takes your heart in his hands, & starts it anew, with fresh hope, love, & faith. And releases you from anxiety caused by this film. And I pray that he shows you exactly what he wants you to get from this film, & forgives you for watching it, & putting a vile thing before your eyes. Furthermore, I pray for Divine & Spiritual protection from now on, whenever you watch this movie, & that God continues to show you great & unsearchable things you do not know through it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Terrific reaction. Another great Patrick Swayze film: "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar." It co-stars Wesley Snipes and John Leguizamo, all 3 hilarious in drag. Sweet, funny, charming comedy.
Patrick Swayze is so good in that movie❤
Fun fact: Tony Goldwyn was actually refused service at a bar by a waitress after she saw Ghost. His portrayal of Carl was THAT good.
Wonder what they would do to him for portraying a Mormon Polygamist Cult leader.
If I was that server all Tony Goldwyn would need to do was take his shirt off again. Then all would be forgiven. 🤩
@@torontomame 😆
I would think the reverse would be better..
"I'll give you a free drink because I saw you in Ghost"
RIP, Patrick Swayze, 1952-2009.
Whenever I watch the ending of the movie, I cry my eyes out, as Patrick Swayze is no longer with us.
@@shainewhite2781 He was an amazing talent and taken from us way to young.
Same way grease ends with Olivia Newton John
This movie pulls off the feat of being a love story, a thriller, a comedy, and a tear-jerker.
"It's not a Patrick Swayze film if his shirt's not off and there's not a long sex scene"
Sir, I would like to present to you - To Wong Foo.
That was an awesome movie!
The outsiders and red dawn
Unchained Melody was *THE* romantic song of the next 5 years.
This movie was so big that year! And years after!
The villain (Tony Goldwyn) voiced Tarzen in the Disney cartoon. He has one of the most sexiest voices...😍 and he has aged so well.
Such a classic. One of my favorite movies of the 90's

Great movie & reaction. Whoopi won an Oscar for this. Great performances from all.
Tony Goldwyn is the grandson of Samuel Goldwyn. One of the founders of MGM Studios. The G of course stands for Goldwyn
Man that ending still breaks me - so beautiful and sad - every one knocked it out of the park in this film.
You know who also did a good job? Rick Aviles (Willie Lopez). In real life he’s a stand-up comedian. Unfortunately he passed away not that long after this movie.

Saw this in a sold out theater. Literally not a dry eye at the end. Everyone was bawling.

Point Break absolutely MUST be next. Patrick and Keanu bromance - plus Gary Busey and Lori Petty. It's quirky perfection at it's best.

For a Swayze movie where his shirt does not come off: "To Wong Fu, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar."
Thank you, Jonathan! ♾
The song “Unchained Melody” actually returned to the charts after this movie.
A really fun Whoopi Goldberg movie is “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”. Lots of laughs.
Fatal Beauty (1987) is another cool '80s Whoopi action/comedy gem.

Next of kin is a good Swayze movie to do. Thank for doing this one 😊
I second Next Of Kin/1989. It has Liam Neeson, Bill Paxton, Ben Stiller, & Helen Hunt in it.

"18 There is no fear in love; but PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR, because fear has to do with punishment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love."
If you have a loving gun carrying father, who is protective, & doesn't take any sh*t from anybody, & who lives out in the wilderness, & teaches you how to responsibly handle a gun, & how to fish, & grow crops, & live off the land, (or if you can imagine that kind of Father), then you should have a better understanding of the point of the Bible.
34:00 what you say at this point makes me think that you SHOULD watch “Fallen” with Denzel Washington.
