@@hellboycr For the suspension I'm currently running an OEM Mopar 2" Lift Kit with Fox 3.0 Internal Bypass Racing Shocks. The steps/rock sliders are DV8 Offroad Tubular Rock Slider Steps. Since this video I've upgraded the Suspension Control Arms to Teraflex Alpine IR Adjustable Control Arms (see this video for why ruclips.net/video/E595V1JVX0k/видео.html). I also will be changing out the Mopar Springs for Clayton Offroad Coil springs to add a littler more lift...I went with the following parts -- 3.5" Front Coil Springs & 2.5" Dual Rate Rear Coil Springs...the taller front spring is due to the extra 400 lbs of diesel motor sitting on the front suspension. I'm also going to install the Fox 2.0 Racing Bump Stop on the front suspension...it has been on order for almost a year...once I get it I will install the newer coil springs along with the bump stop. The reason for going with a front bump stop is due to the limited up-travel of the front suspension...it is surprisingly limited in the OEM Mopar configuration. Hope this info answers the mail...
@@SteveSmith-wl8yq thanks for sharing this info. It looks like the diesel’s weight is higher, so that something to consider as well, I think. I was thinking about the terraform 3” with falcon shocks, so it should be similar.
@@hellboycr Some additional two cents... I've never heard of the company "terraform”... so I cannot provide any insight. However, if you do own a EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator then I strongly recommend you search for a kit that is made specifically for the diesel engine option. The OEM Mopar lift kit has springs matched specifically for the extra weight of the diesel engine (a spring part number per corner of the vehicle). Clayton Offroad handles the delta (extra engine weight) by putting a 1" taller front coil spring in each kit... for example, a 3.5" front coil spring in the 2.5" lift kit (rear is a 2.5" lift -- front is a 3.5" lift to give a 2.5" lift both front and back). Regarding the shocks...to be similar they have to at least be an internal bypass configuration...I know Fox, King, and Bilstein all make bypass shocks...I do not know if Falcon does. I personally feel that the bypass shocks paired with rubber isolated bearing type control arms are worth ever penny of the investment (if you travel a lot of dirt roads and/or do a good amount of off roading). Happy mods!!!
It actually worked really well ... Better than I thought it would. I wasn't sure how well the foam would stay where I put it...but it never moved. And 99.9% of the normal crap that would have got caught doesn't anymore. I've since upgraded my fenders twice since the video... Upgrades were for other reasons. Happy trails....
I have 8k on them...short answer: I'd buy them again but they are not my first choice. They have done much better than I expected. The M/T noise at highway speeds is just at the level of the wind/air noise...so very livable. Tread wear has been much better than I expected (I have abused them off road on embedded rock terrain). The traction off road has been very good (I've done sand, embedded rock, marble rocks, shale type rock, all types of dirt road surfaces, wet asphalt, etc.). They are just ok on wet pavement, but you can feel them trying to get more traction. I haven't driven in snow or mud with them, but I know mud is excellent and I've heard snow is ok. They give excellent feedback on the pavement and don't fling too many rocks off road. The ride quality is ok...you can feel the lugs/tread blocks at lower speeds (under 20 mph)...so if you have a stiff suspension setup you are going to get some vibration at slower to medium speeds. They handle being air down really well...I go around 15 psi without beadlocks. Let me know if you have any specific questions...I'll try and answer what I can. Have a nice one...
@@SteveSmith-wl8yq wow thanks for your detailed response! I watched your video on them as well! Thanks for all your Jeep EcoDiesel content! I'm waiting for my JTRD in Gobi to be delivered
Nice looking jeep
Thank you...I've been really happy with the purchase and mods...
