Thanks for this and the links! Picked up my Jeep on Friday and took it out yesterday and got a ton of small rocks in between the fender and body. I was like what the heck man?!? I’m going to pick some of this stuff up before I got out again next weekend!
I took off the soft top washed it with simple green then I heavily treated it with Never Wet. Now the dirt just slides off when I wash it 😊. As always great videos
hey Casey - Great stuff and appreciate the advice! Regarding the soft top, the only way I get mine clean is a ladder and a 3100 psi power washer to get the dirt out...
Long term, how is the molding working out. I give the soft top a good scrub and then finish it off with Krown leather and vinyl protectant. A good tip is to give it a wipedown with the Krown product before you go wheeling and the dirt and mud will just hose right off
Once you do get it clean try Scoth Guarding it to seal it which should 1 help water roll off easier and 2 it should fill in the material so the dirty won’t stick or stay
Good tip Casey. You would think Jeep designers would know better. That is a bad detail. I bet my bottom dollar that will come lose over time at highway speed. Would be interesting to do a follow up video how it stands up. Cheers from Parksville.
Casey, To get mud off soft top you’ll need a bucket, some dish soap preferably dawn (mud and clay has minerals and oils ) and a handheld dustpan brush. after washing it as best as you can then mix water and soap dip brush and try your best to go with the grain this process will be tedious but will get all particulates out. After top is dry... and semi cool spray and wipe with Vinyl cleaner and protectant I recommend a product called son of a gun reason I recommend this product it also puts a thin veneer of Teflon on your top which makes things less likely to stick to it and it has a great shine with UV protection which will help make the JEEP cooler temperature wise
I used a tire and wheel brush on my JL top and it got the mud stains right out. I just used the standard chemical guys citrus wash soap. It works great.
I filled the fender crack on my TJ with caulking... it's held up for years and keeps rocks and sand from rubbing there and eating my paint in the winter.
Thanks for sharing, this has annoyed me too as Bright White shows all. Looking forward to your long term results and opinions down the road. And Casey, what are your current mods? Are they posted somewhere? Are you still using the Warn rear bumper with wheel mount? Thanks and enjoy the ride
I installed this fix on my JL today. Thanks for the tip. Based on how it went in I just don’t have much confidence it will stay during hard use. Let us know how yours does.
My soft top looked like that also, I started using ph neutral soap, which still WILL NOT take the discoloration out, but after you wash it, let it dry, I put 303 on it and it goes back black till my next adventure 👍👍, hope this helps.
Off topic but do you know of anyone making a cold air intake for the diesel? I’m do doing the king double throw down coil overs and I need a cai for figment and don’t see anyone making one. May have to fabricate one but figured you’d know if one was out. I’ve had no luck. Thanks in advance Casey!

Sounds like I need a bigger pressure washer.
Casey: I use a product called Simple Green for my soft top. It works well for me and is pretty cheap at Lowe's, Home Depot etc.
Ah nice. Ive used that on tires.
The best way to get the dirt out of the soft top is by getting a hardtop. 😂
Lol.

Interesting idea. Ill look into it, maybe there is a soft top specific spray.
On my cj 5 and 7 I used tent waterproofing it helped not perfect but it helped

Seems like a sealant after its clean is the best way to go after reading through the comments.

Chemical Guys sell an excellent product for the soft top...
Ill check them out. Thanks.
I wonder if that tubing would work on the passenger side sound bar rattle... will test
Another vote in for the chemical guys soft top kit. Comes in a spray on two part and works amazing. Love it on my soft top.
Gonna have to get some it seems
Thanks Casey, that fender tip is a great idea! Love your content, thanks!
No problem!
Been meaning to do this for awhile. Thanks for the reminder. Great video Casey.

thx for the follow up. ill keep an eye on it and call it out on a future vlog if it fails.
Great idea, how well are they holding up?
Wow !! To bad you didn’t think of that ideal.

soap? lol.
@@Casey250 yes MEYERS DISH SOAP, it's ph neutral, so it won't dryout the soft top 👍👍
Use some purple power on it then rub it down with some aerospace 303 or anything that block UV rays then while youre at it do your dash
Alcalic degreaser works great on the soft top fabric! Must be alcalic!
Thanks Casey!
How have they held up over time? Any shifting?
Been fine, except I havent replaced the one I lost when I ripped my fender off.
Quadratec. Sells kit from Bestop 11205-00 3 pak $ 39.25 not tried it yet .
What mic you using with your gopro?? Your sounds is great!
Built in mic
Hope the tubing stays in place. Most people claim it falls out.
I have a habit of ripping fenders off too :(

I do not, but I am sure if Evo is doing a dtd king setup they have all the solutions you need.
Casey 250 they don’t but my fabricator is making one until one is produced. Pretty simple but knew if anyone would know it would be you! Thanks again.
I see a new trailscales product. Soft top cleaner protectant 😏
Lol
303 Protectant.
Time for aftermarket fenders

There was a few i noticed while editing that i was wondering if you guys would pick up on.
The little things that make your life easier.
Yes! This gap in the JL fenders is super annoying
Nice! I’d been thinking about doing this so glad to see someone do this. #jtrspartacus.
Ya washing machine 🤣👍🙈
Lol
