Good job ninja man! and that box is the anti flicker, prevent errors codes when going from condescends to leds.... I was able to use taser to change the programing on mine to bypass that entire mess.
Just bought these at a show. Good install video. Can't wait to get mine installed. Next time I'm in NC, I'm going to be on the lookout for NAPALM! Cool name.
I'm in the process of adding the slimline smoked Quake LEDs. I'm doing the fender mod and I wish separating the fender was that easy on my 2020 JLURD. Also, all of my bolts to remove the fender were 10mm, which might be a change in later years.
Thanks, Jenn!! Yeah, I think they turned pretty good. I've got more clearance, and it just looks better. Can't decide what I'm going to do about the inners. Time will tell.👍🏻👊🏻🤘🏻
Good question. However, I do NOT know for sure. I've had a CJ, 2 TJ's, a JK and now the JL. The JL was my first Rubicon. That said, from what (I) understand, the fenders for the Rubi, Sahara and Sport are all different. I feel like they all attach in the same manner tho. So, if you're able to get some Rubi take-offs, I'm (FAIRLY) confident it would work. I would however, urge you to look more into it, rather than taking MY word for it. Thanks for watching and the question! 🤘🏻
thanks for your video . by watching you can see what not to as well. 37's I would opt for the 2" lift. I noticed when you took you inner fender off ,You still had mud behind it, so an after market inner fender should have better results.
If you're not wheeling at all, 37's can be run without a lift. I'm on a 2.5" inch lift, and with the fender chop, I have no issues with rubbing anymore. During articulation, the tires tuck up under the fenders perfectly. Glad you liked the vid. Thanks for watching and the comment!!🤘🏻
@@richardthomas1531 I don't know about the height difference, but any time you change tire size, your speedo will be off. I have a Superchips Flashcal that does all that. It cost around $250. It does much more as well. If you go to the dealer, it'll be $125 each time. To me, the Flashcal is worth the investment.
I like that it's aluminum. Big weight loss with aluminum. I've heard that RPM had some issues in the past. I've heard nothing but good stuff about their JL steering kit. I have no personal experience with it, so I can't really give an honest opinion. Sorry, that's my best answer.
I can't answer for anyone else. But, for ME, I really didn't like the look of the oem fenders until AFTER I chopped mine. Plus I KNEW I'd need a little more clearance under there and wanted a different inner fender and there's no aftermarket inners that can work with the OEM fenders unless you chop them.
How do they hold up? I have had one of the other brands for 2 years and replaced them twice because water gets in them and shorts the leds out. Very disappointed with that brand. Just ordered the quake, hoping they hold up better!
Should be able to find some take offs. Be a lot cheaper. I personally like the Rubicon fenders better than any of the aftermarket ones I've seen. So, I'll be keeping these, until I tear them up, LOL! Glad you like the vid. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻
There is a mod for the JK fenders, but it's different than the JLs. Search for "Jeep JK Fender Mod" and you should find what you're looking for. Thanks for watching and the question! 👍🏻🤘🏻
THANKS, I try to be different too, I bought the Quake LED Slim line cause of the sequencel .But I'll be installing on a Mojave Gladiator which you don't see too many yet. I want to put on 37s and with removing the liner and since the Mojave comes an inch taller than a Ruby I believe I can get by with out a lift..Have you installed the inner liner and which brand?
Good overview, I am planning to chop mine as well but keep the OEM LED lights in. @ 15:45 I notice that the body mounts are not used to support the fender on any kit. Do you drive at 75 -80 and notice any movement since those are not used for support? Maybe some spacers with a longer allen screw/washer/bolt to support mid-fender? I have a design in mind. More on that on my channel when I get design done. You have given me ideas!! :)
I have driven 80+ and did not notice any movement. (MOST) of the companies that have done fender chop kits have done a great job with the front support. The center support is overkill in my opinion, and was installed OEM because they weren't confident in their design. Most people I know have removed the center support all together. I wanna leave as much OEM as I can for potential future mods. I'm on 37's and have run to the limits of articulation and have not had an issue with them. Glad you liked the vid! Lemme know your channel. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻
@@ShockWaveOffroad my channel is AZRubicon. I am going to 3D print something to see how/if I can retain the OEM lights. May not work but I need to give it a whirl!
Looking to do a fender chop and can not decide which chop bracket to roll with. How do you like the Quake kit so far? Is the light a cool white or warm white look?
I'm not too sure what you mean by "cool" and "warm" light. I do know it is bright and can be seen very well. I like the Quake bracket kit so far. Since install, I've had no issues. Thanks for watching and the question! 🤘🏻
I mean, it'll get just as muddy with the high fenders as without. I did add motobilt inner fenders front and rear, though. You can find those videos on my INSTALLS playlist. That said, a pressure washer and 30 seconds of your life and the mud is gone anyway. So.... Thanks for watching and the question! 🤘🏻
Great video my man just want to clarify Sahara’s with the LED package i believe you can still separate!!! But they are not the high line fenders like the Rubis so there isn’t as much clearence
Nice video....I added the quake slimline sequential chop kit. Love the look...but I didn't gain that much useable uptravel. Prob gained 1/2- 1" in reality bc the tires hit the lower hanging frame/fender bracket area first. I think the upper portion of the stock rubi liners sit less than an inch lower in that area. The AAL install video is misleading where the guy measures before/after the chop under the fender at the highest point implying the chop provides 3-4"of up travel.🤣
Good point, LOL! I agree that the most usable clearance will be at the bottom. I had very little contact with the upper portion of the fenders to begin with. Like you said, it's mainly near the bottom. Thanks for watching and the comment!!👍🏻🤘🏻
@@ShockWaveOffroad The passenger side on mine just started hyperflashing. 🤐 Hopefully, you dont have those issues...I'll prob upgrade my tazer to the full version to address it.
