In my eyes this is the ultimate drivers car. Pure performance, no turbo- or supercharger, 9000 revs, MANUAL FUCKING GEARBOX. This is an absolute dream drivers car

theres the RWD huracan with a NA V10 but no manual
+waitwuttt not a drivers car like this. While it's good to drive, Lamborghini just doesn't have the "racing pedigree" to compare with Ferrari and this vehicle. It isn't as engaging since the chassis is set up for AWD. But they can be insane in a straight line with turbos.

Unless you're my brother who 's Porsche was dropping bits all over the road and at below 70k miles needed an engine rebuild! Would he listen to his little brother ....

Sure, buddy. Every car will give you some sort of grief.
Elaborate on what. An engine rebuild @ for a car with less than 70K. That's not including all the other reliability issues, and there were plenty.
All my German cars with low mileage gave me grief. BMW, Audi, VW, hands up my Merc was near perfect. Swap to Japanese and My Toyota took me to near 200k and the only major component was a wheel bearing @ near just over 165k miles and a cost of around £60 or so to fix. Oh yes, the light bulbs used to blow with annoying regularity, but @ 67p each from Eurocaparts, and less than a minutes work, it's hardly an issue.
The VW was costing me near £150 per month to keep it on the road. The BMW with just over 40k was hideous. brakes, exhaust, things not working. The final straw was the steering rack going.
So when my brother wanted a Porker I told him not to do it. He did, and now he's paid the price .... quite literally. He had to get rid at a massive loss.
Nice to see the old RAF 216 SQN Tristar C2s I used to work on. However, lets face it the GT3 was never going to be a letdown. Just save your disappointment for getting an order slot!
Porsche is just the best, forget Ferrari, McLaren or MB

Im sure the PDK performs better but numbers are boring. I want maximum driver involvement so for me the manual is the only choice.

I love Porsche. Lightweight yet built like a tank, reliable, easy to maintain, good gas mileage, straight forward to work on once you have the equipment and know how to work on them. It looks so different and quirky to anything you see on the road. In terms of an overall sports car it has to be the best sports car of all time. There's nothing really on the market that hits all the boxes this car does while running all day and night without running into any issues. It's unbelievable.

The Gen 2 GT3 manual will definitely appreciate in price and it won't take long in my opinion....
I doubt it. The 992 GT3 is also available with a manual and more hp. That will drive down 991.2 GT3 prices.

Has there ever been a negative review for any Porsche within the last, let's say, 10 years? Pretty sure the Porsche engineering department has some sort of pact with the devil :D Whatever they make, it always seems to be somewhere in between "very, very good" and "as close to perfect has humanly possible".

Why do journalist keep saying "...this is the closest thing to a race car..." every time they think a car like this GT3 is here...having driven one? Now that there's the 2018 GT2 RS...they'll say it again. :)) Then in a few years they'll rework the GT3 again or put out a GT3 RS again...then say the same thing...Again!! :))
Why so much fuss about the 9000 rpm? Ferrari 458 already revved to 9000 rpm and it was 2009 technology

After the dodge viper acr, I can't really take anyone seriously when they call another car a race car for the road. This is comfortable and tame compared to the neck snapping, back breaking viper.

When you drive a gt3, it's always preferable to have the seating position of a grandma and get as close as you can to the steering wheel. This way, you look completely credible when reviewing the car....

Drove the manual version of this very Car and it was awful, lets me clarify that,it wasn't the 2017 Car it was a two year old,had 45K under it's wheels and the gearbox was rubbish,it felt so baggy,vague, I was disappointed, this was the Car I promised myself one Day I'd drive one!, well I have, and it wasn't good.
You didnt drive a manual 991 GT3 if it was older than a 2017, lol.

Great review, but the editing is horrible imo. Dunno who came up with this heavy editing fad that everyone seems to go for. The hue of the colors are so bad and inconsistent and for no reason that I can tell.

Jordan Samson I like both but they're kinda taking a big stinky dump on the 991.1 gt3 rs owners. Plus ppl swear up and down this is the the best roadgoing track car. When it ist.
turshin It's all subjective, isn't it. The Viper might be better if you just want raw power and constant race car feel, but the GT3 is a better choice if you want a track weapon to daily
I'd drive this joker every day. I'd opt for the manual given the choice however.
