Holy shit youtube recommended just dug up a channel i watched all the time YEARS AGO, this channel made me want to build halo weapons, i did with card board and legos all the time. Im glad to see this channels still alive and well

Its been a while since I've watched your videos but with a new halo coming out I've been getting back into wanting to make props and just general nostalgia. This is the definition of beauty. I would love to have this hanging up on my gaming wall next to all my other video game weapons.
Seeing the R-97 on the wall behind that Reclaimed Reach AR makes me sooooo happy!!! Been maining the R-97 since TF1 came out.
The Halo Reach AR is the best. It looks more rugged, and the weathering really shows it's service life. It feels more suited to be in the field.
The MA5 series is good, don't get me wrong, but it's too clean and feels like it's more suited for a security detail.
Isnt the ma37 just a stipped down, army variant of the ma5?
Too... Clean? What the hell are you on about? Have you seen military hardware? Because whether it looks "clean" or not isn't a priority for gear used in the field. Practicality and utility are the the things you want in the field.
What exactly about this varient looks like it has more practical elements than the original designs? All I see is a weapon maintenance nightmare. This version of the AR has so many useless grooves all across the gun for dirt and mud to get in. Not to mention this gun is probably heavier than the average MA5 varient because look at the size of it versus the ones we see in Halo 1 and 3. The Ma5 in 3 especially has a slimmer design, that not only looks lighter, but has the more practical weapon design of having the ammo counter being built i to the bridge of the rather than it being just an attachment.
The design was supposed to make it look like an AR prototype rather than "more rugged", which even that makes no sense continuity wise because Reach takes place within the same year as Halo CE, so why is the UNSC carrying around prototype varients of a service rifle that had been in service nearly a century (2437 was the year the MA5 series was put into service).
So I really don't understand what your argument is for the "cleaner" one being out to a security detail.
The M37 is outdated though, that's why it was starting to get phased out of the Marine Corps in favor of the MA5B and MA5C
@@Alexander9924 as far as I remember it wasn't used by the marines under the designation m37, that was the army which apparently still exists in a regional form
@@PANCAKEMINEZZ I get where he is coming from. The Ma37 looks a lot more like a real world bullpup rifle. I'm not sure about your idea of bulkier. To me it looks like is uses less material and has far less extra and unneeded material. I always thought that it was smaller too. The visibly removal screen on teh top is interesting too. I like both versions but Ifeel that the MA5 series are very boring to look at. They look very outdated model wise as if they are from an old game. It's a basic shape with some details added rather than the interesting, more up-to-date (model wise) detail of the Ma37. As for your maintenence point. It looks like it is still fully enclosed and it is piss easy to get mud out of a basic groove such as seen on this. I don't see that being an issue at all.
I can't help but feel like the MA5 series rifles feel out of place in the new HD, ultra detailed game worlds we have today.

Hello, but (if you recall the latest screenshots of the weapon) it turns out that your version of the MA40 is almost completely the same as the one that the developers have made (well, except that there is a yellow line in the screenshot), it's just amazing! ^-^

Just a suggestion, think it'd be really cool if you shot some high quality b-roll of the finished prop because all I was waiting for was the epic close ups with the epic music but it never came 😅

Hey Andrew would you happen to know any alternatives to hot glue? I want to make the ODST armor but I live in a pretty hot area and I'm worried the hot glue might melt

I loved reach’s clunky design but that’s because it was an early model it makes no sense for it to be used so many years after better versions were made, personally I’ve always liked the look of the halo 3 ar and it would make more sense canonically

Have you considered making noble 6's armor? It be a cool build because, like the odst, there would be lots you could add to the base armor. Also your tutorials are great and super helpful for a newbie such as myself. Thanks for hours of creative fun

His template prints out proper sized onto 5 sheets of standard paper. You just have to trim the printouts to splice them together.

MA37 was always great
I dont get why Infinite went with an outdated AR design like the M37, When they could've used the MA5B From Halo CE or the MA5C from Halo 3
Probably to emphasize how desperate the UNSC is, or to show that Chief is primarily working with the Army instead of the Navy. (The Army is the only branch of the UNSC still using the M37, every other branch used the MA5 variants)

But lorewise it is, since the MA37 entered serve in the 2430s or around that time

Very stupid fragile XD Cardboard can work but will be rather difficult!
Where is the bolt and safety, and the magwell should be bigger. Just my recommendations. (If you can't tell, I am a mega halo geek and freaking love the games like a 7 year old to fortnite)
