I was privileged to grow up as a teen in the 80’s in Austin,Texas and able to see so many kick ass bands both punk and metal The Offenders were an incredibly intense live band that I seen on many occasions at Liberty Lunch, Raul’s or Continental Club. Great times to be a kid full of angst. Rip to those that have passed on.
The offenders w verbal abuse was my first ever show. At the original emos location, doesn't get much better than that for a kid who had just started getting into punk
This band and many others are exactly why music preservation is important. I'm only 27 so I missed out on a lot, but I think it's great people upload whole records like this, thank you man.
Very sorry to hear JJ Jacobson (Vocals) was found dead a few days ago. Unfortunately that's three of the members from this legendary band gone now. R.I.P. Mikey, Tony & JJ, gone but never forgotten as long as we have their great music.
As unbelievable as it sounds , I'm 54 this year and "grew up" during this most interesting era and while I remember hearing the name , I've never listened to The Offenders until recently. It's odd that I was known as and considered myself well rounded when it came to punk . I had easily the most diverse collection in my area ( cuz I worked as a janitor and spent every possible cent on records I no longer have ! ) But as much as I tried I couldn't break from certain bands that really caught my attention and held it. ( bl'ast , social unrest , circle one etc) anyhow , I'm glad to still have the time to hear these classic bits of hardcore , long may they play for future generations , and especially for the future generations, because without this great DIY music as an influence , y'all are fucked. 🖕
i was so bummed to hear mikey passed. Such a great dude. Totally surprised me when i found out he got my bands logo tattooed on his neck. Crazy. I was stoked to be able to tell him how much DRI dealing with it had a massive impact on my life as a kid in the 80s. Such a great dude. Very sincere solid guy. He will be missed. In honor i got his name tattooed on me. R.I.P. Mikey Offender. Your pain is over now my friend.
that would be good ol Mikey Offender (Mikey Donaldson) RIP..he also played in early DRI,MDC,and Sister Double Happiness. He really was a shredding bassist.... long before the many who have followed since.

I’m 56 and first heard The Offenders in 1986 when Rabid Cat Records sent me their album Endless Struggle to review in my zine. I loved it!
